Positive experience: Overpriced membership options and there's rarely staff working but there is a decent selection of equipment over two floors. Hygiene seems to be of little importance to management as the men's bathroom reeks and the hand dryer has been out of action for at least a week, likely longer.

Positive experience: A perfectly fine gym. Very cheap and large space. Not the highest end gym out there but great for an inexpensive membership. Though not many staff around or a pool which would make it better.

Fantastic experience: Made a change to Ride from Cycle, really good High intensity bike session maximising the 30 minute session. Laura the instructor was enthusiastic, and ensured everyone was really benefiting. For me personally I will booking Ride before cycle in the future.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place to workout
Negative experience: Nice enough gym but good luck if you have an issue at the door. I’ve moved gyms and gone to a buddy memberships. The first time it didn’t work and we had to get staff to let me in. Emailed to ‘sort’ it. The second time it didn’t work again and staff had to let me in (but they were leaving in 20 minutes as the 24/7 gym is only staffed every so often). Third time we came on a different day to match the staffed hours better in case it happens again. Door fails. We cal the assistance buzzer multiple times and after 25 minutes just give up. Again. Nice enough gym but not being to get in really detracts.
Fantastic experience: Great class of Ride with Maria on Fri evening at 5:15. If you are short on time this is a high intensity class with results. I recommend!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at PureGym Beeston Nottingham since June 2023, enjoying the gym's friendly environment and solid equipment range. While the functional training section could benefit from some enhancements, the availability of gear like resistance bands could be more consistent. The gym is clean overall, but the facilities could use more regular maintenance, and the showers definitely need hotter water. Additionally, it's important to note that some gym-goers don't re-rack weights or return equipment after taking selfies. While it's great to see members documenting their fitness journeys, maintaining tidiness by putting equipment back is a courtesy that shouldn't be overlooked. The staff is approachable and generally helpful. Overall, PureGym Beeston Nottingham is a reliable spot for daily exercise, and I continue to recommend it, even with room for certain improvements.

Negative experience: A running machine broken for weeks. Machines either side of it don't work despite as advised by staff holding Go button down for 45 seconds. Sign what doesn't work or put a sign instructing how to start them. Stop wasting customers time trying to get them to work, and pretending more perating running machines than there are. 3 running machines have been out for weeks.
Positive experience: Been a member for almost two years now. I don’t like the new layout since the revamp. It gets overly busy, and doesn’t have enough machines however the gym is always clean, people are friendly and the new changing rooms with hairdryers are great. Plus it’s easy to get to if you don’t drive.

Negative experience: Exercise machines facing each other in a circle (great planning!), now looking at other hot sweaty faces, instead of having cardio machines facing out the huge windows.

Fantastic experience: If only I could give the business a 0 star but that would be unfair. I love that I could go late at nights which is the best aspect of the gym as it is quiet and spacious however the memberships are so scam based. Tried cancelling my membership as I thought it had been cancelled since I cancelled by direct debit, 21.99 was still taken from me. Imagine a business where you can't even cancel directly on their website?! If I had no problems with cancelling my membership I would rate this place 4 stars but being deeply hurt by having that much money taken away from me especially during times like this, I cant. Wish they sorted out the cancellation option on their website so that people can cancel their membership smoothly. Edit: Issue has been resolved. It was a fault on my part. Just make sure you cancel your subscription 5 days before your billing date, directly through your bank and you will be fine. Overall finally I can give the business the 5 star it deserves :)

Negative experience: Never had any issues with the gym ive been coming here for around 2 years now. The refurbishment is brilliant BUT for 5 weeks now the showers have been cold. I have spoken to members of staff and left a review on trust pilot. The shower are still cold. Disappointing!
Fantastic experience: I joined PureGym recently and I'm enjoying it so far. There is loads of equipment, and the app is very helpful for planning workouts.
Positive experience: Plenty of equipment and I enjoy going regularly. Odds are you will be able to get on equipment, but peak times gets very busy. However, I have never been to a place where so called "unbendable" rules (according to a company poster) are bent so freely. For example: - Many other users openly take bags on the gym floor. One of my most recent visits I counted 7 bags in a 3 metre square radius. Others hang bags from front bikes and treadmills. - One occasion someone was wearing Jeans whilst exercising. - Pretty sure there's kids under 16 that use the gym, if the are 16+ there not there with adult supervision. One kid that looked about 12-14 was there with his dad. - Locker 1 in the men's seems permanently in use. All of these I'm presuming staff have either noticed and chosen to ignore or haven't seen which begs the question about what they're doing during their shifts. Usually they are either PT-ing, running sessions or sitting in the staff room. Very rarely are they on hand on the floor allowing themselves to be accessible to members. When they are on the gym floor it looks like they're there chatting with what looks like there mates. To be fair though, when you do see them around, they do seem friendly. Away from the so called "Unbendable" rules. They seem super slow on maintenance. There's a water tap on the main gym floor that's been out of commission for at least a month and a shower that's not been in use for about as long. A couple machines could do with an oiling. Also, if you use the app to get in or out make sure 1) your phone is charged 2) you have a charging lead with you 3) have an alternative way (key fob or remember code) Otherwise it's a challenge to get out. Finally, this might be more of a company wide issue but, there's little to nothing about photography or use of recording devices (just a few lines in the so called "Unbendable" rules about asking first). I mention this cause I had to tell a fellow member a couple weeks back to stop recording on his phone in the changing room cause PureGym don't have signs up saying so already. Use of recording devices in gyms is a growing problem in gyms and PureGym clearly aren't getting a handle on it before it's too late. Apart from all these, it's actually a decent gym. This review might sound negative, but it's really not a bad place. I'd be happy to increase my star rating if I were to see positive improvements.
Fantastic experience: I have been before and after refurbishment and by far the best PureGym in the area! Staff are polite and friendly and the gym is always usually clean. Toilets not always but I don't spend a lot of time in there. Showers seem alright and they do look clean. Machines at this gym (especially since the refurbishment) are so much better than other gyms like castle for example. Will definitely return to this gym and keep my plus membership for this reason!
Fantastic experience: New upgrades are great and I like the new squat/deadlift setup. Whenever I’m here the manager is always on his feet doing something. Good upgrades so far.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoy it here. It’s local and easily accessed with parking at Tesco. The prices are good, especially for a student and the app is fantastic for tracking engagement and specialised workouts. Although opening hours are short ending, I like that I have accessed to a 24/7 PureGym without extra charge. I look forward to the renovations.
Positive experience: It's alright, busy, but there's some improvements coming apparently so that's good too. I usually go between 10am and 1pm and can get most equipment I need without waiting. Your standard puregym I guess lols.
Negative experience: I have 4 kids I can only get in the gym before they wake up but now that the opening time is 6am I cant absolutely rubbish

Negative experience: Signed up because it was 24hrs, except within a week suddenly the opening hours have been massively reduced (still charging the same though). You’d think this is something new members should have been informed about before signing up.

Negative experience: Has an okay selection of equipment and a solid layout, the big downside and why I gave it one star is that 2 weeks into new years they have changed the opening hours from 24 hours, as a shift worker this has greatly affected how I am able to use the gym and they did this right after new years and with only around a week's notice. This is an unacceptable amount of warning for something that would have been planned ahead of time and if I was given warning more in advance I wouldn't have joined this gym. A friend who has limited hours is even more affected they now only have 8:30 0-10:30 to use the gym in weekdays
Negative experience: The gym recently changed there hours so they are not 24hr gym anymore which is extremely disappointing as there is no other 24hr gym within walking distance.
Positive experience: - they have now reversed the decision to not be 24 hours- I have therefore changed this review to reflect this. Gyms fine but the opening times are not as advertised when I signed my contract and joined. I have also not received any information as a customer and it is still 24 hour on the website and the app. It is very disappointing. They have not confirmed the opening hours are temporarily but if they are not they are not in line with PureGym base line offer. All customers should be informed and the option of going to castle marina is not suitable, customers should be offered a choice of their second gym if that is what they are providing as a recompense for the inconvenience. I am disheartened by the way this has been managed and that I am not receiving what I agreed to pay for as a customer.
Positive experience: I would like to say thank you to all staff working here but to New opening hours from 16th January 2023 made this great gym just not suitable for its purpose and travelling to Castle Marina seriously not an option. No longer 24/7 Mo-Fri 6am-10pm Sat-Sun 8am-8pm. I do not think this place can compete with other gyms in area with the same opening hours. If you would like to join please consider if it is worth the money even with New refurbishment planned. Good luck to business. I know it is hard in these times.

Negative experience: This review has been a long time coming but reflects the gripes of many attendees to Pure Gym Beeston. 1. Not enough equipment and prioritisation of the wrong equipment. Why are there so few barbells and dumbbells, when there could easily be 2x the amount (i.e. there is space upstairs for 2-3x the amount, and they are affordable? A simple answer: just buy a barbell stand with 5 or so more 15-20kg barbells. If Pure insists on cramming the gym full of people, it needs to meet the growing demand. Equally, there are too few cable machines, yet baffling over prioritisation of cardio machines which are never all in use and therefore a very ill thought out use of the space. The vast amount of cardio machines makes no sense based on popularity/ usage. My suggestion is to consider a more pragmatic layout for the gym, i.e based on actual usage; even during peak hours, not all cardio machines are in use, yet people can not get onto weight lifting equipment. Thus, if it is a question of poor planning and then insufficient funds, perhaps sell some of them and prioritise buying some more cable machines (for which there is always a queue) and more barbells/ boxes and dumbbells, which are affordable. It has been a long time since Pure Gym provided any more equipment to meet the growing demand, and it is overdue. Secondly, the number of classes and the effort put into them by the PTs is very poor. Particularly for spin; there are too few spin classes and no late classes for those who have 9-5.30 jobs and would benefit from a 6.45/7pm class. This Pure Gym is by far the poorest for classes that I have ever attended (of 5) and I am currently moving between Cambridge leisure, Southend Fossets and Beeston. Moreover, I had a spin class recently where the instructor was not on the bike (did not offer an explanation), looked thoroughly disinterested and delivered a very poor routine; he was so disinterested it made several of the attendees uncomfortable. I understand (with sympathy) that the PTs are treated poorly and are not incentivised; In fact, sveral things I have heard about how Pure Gym treats their PTs are morally incorrigible and I do not blame them for not wanting to do classes. Hence, my message to the higher-ups is: get more people on board - specifically for classes - treat your PTs better - they are not slaves - and give them a good incentive to do the classes properly. Thirdly, the aircon - while better than Cambridge leisure which is bordering on a human rights violation :') - is insufficient in the summer. Now that temperatures are rising to unsafe levels in the UK, there needs to be powerful aircon. For those who are overweight, disabled, unwell, older, etc, good aircon is a must to work out safely. Finally, why are the showers scolding hot with no option to change the temperature. I have showered at PURE Beeston twice and scolded my scalp both times. Please avoid the showers unless you want charred skin!

Positive experience: Not a bad gym overall BUT could do with more machines that you put weights on yourself not just cable machines like low row, lat pulldown, incline chest and many more which the gym definitely as got the room.There is no where enough weights in the gym to put on the leg press machine you have to walk around the whole gym to find weights.

Positive experience: Decent gym, problem is it's pretty small considering it's in a busy area so it's literally always busy. Becomes annoying because if you plan on going times between 1 - 11pm (sometimes even earlier) you kinda just have to work whatever you can because there will be a backlog of about 10 people trying to get on the bench ect. Plus side is it's always clean and equipment is good just limited.

Negative experience: Very bad gym the calf machine is broken since first of march and yet until now it is jot fixed. Very bad follow up and they only have one calf machine in the gym Do not recommend and avoid at any cost

Fantastic experience: Just finished my first spin class at this gym, had a really good session and the instructor was great… only minor thing would be the need for a headset and maybe dimming the lights slightly in the studio (just person preference)… I’ll definitely be back…

Positive experience: Good gym but gets very busy with bunches of students all standing around blocking off equipment and staff aren't the friendliest unless they already know you. During quieter more unsociable times it is a pleasant place to be.

Negative experience: *Sometimes dangerous*! Overcrowded and full of kids hopped up on Monster who've clearly never used a gym before as you just need a card to enter and there are no staff looking after things... You might want to wear steel toe caps.... Please stop taking new members..... Stop being greedy at the expense of our safety!

Positive experience: The gym has a wide range of kit, but it could do with more barbells for deadlifts/exercises out of the rack and more for equipment for calves (there is room for this upstairs by legs machines or instead the extra floor mats next to them which aren't in use often). Most staff are friendly but others have sometimes held multiple equipment for long periods with their PT clients. The cleaning sprays do go through periods where they are empty (although this has improved ) and they removed one hand sanitizer downstairs and haven't replaced it. Downstairs lockers closing mechanisms are quite stiff on many lockers and could do with WD40 or similar. Gets busy, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays so a bit of a wait for kit. Wednesday a little better - I think this is because the university has sports teams training and socials that day. Overall, reasonable for the price. Update: they have since updated the gym and have alot more racks and have duplicates of some of the high use equipment.

Positive experience: Gym is always kept clean and I never have to wait to use the equipment. It would be better if there were pilates classes, preferably in the evening.

Fantastic experience: 1st time its scary you yhink people lookung at you but there not bothered n just cracking on i would like to have introduction class maybe for new comers to help them decide :)

Positive experience: Too many broken machines, missing footstraps on cycles, frayed straps on rowing machines....cleaning fluid often out

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Positive experience: Really good facilities. With all the extra cleaning measure in place. Only down side is faulty lockers. It too me and a kind gentleman man 5 minutes to get the locker open.

Negative experience: Dirty machines, broken parts, other machines always "having a nap". Too many people and groups of kids hanging around doing nothing but causing disruption. Staff see it and ignore it, along with the people sat on machines they aren't using because they're just playing on their phones. And they don't wipe the machines after. Sanitising spray is always low. The Manager should be addressing the state of the place. Gyms were crying about being closed during lockdowns so they should do much more to keep the gym safe to stop it happening again.

We're sorry to hear that you don't believe our team are doing enough to combat the issues that you've raised. Unfortunately, we are unable to monitor the usage of phones in our gyms, however if people are sitting on equipment I would strongly advise approaching a member of staff on the floor who will be able to help further. Similarly, we rely on members to clean down their equipment and encourage them to do so using signage and our in-gym messages. Our team aim to re-stock cleaning stations as often as possible but this can be difficult during busy times. We're always looking to improve so your feedback will be relayed to the team. Staff undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Negative experience: You pay for plus membership and what you get is rude staff speaking with no respect at all whatsoever. Water station is out of flavours for weeks. Puregym used to much better place to work out and had more friendly staff pre lockdown....

Positive experience: It’s good for a basic gym. Really light on staff even in peak hours. Some equipment needs repair and more visibility on cleaning from staff would be good (ie: toilets in better shape and less dust on some clearly not used or cleaned equipment) Buuut for £20 a month you can’t complain. Good value for moneh.

Fantastic experience: Good measures taken to prevent spread of Covid, with users asked to clean down equipment after use.
Fantastic experience: I use this gym nearly everyday as the equipment are in really good condition and kept clean. Everything is also spaced out to mitigate the spread of the virus, with cleaning stations situated throughout the gym. The gym staff are friendly and approachable. Plus, paying around £20 per month for the membership is a bargain considering the amount of equipment that they have on offer.
