Negative experience: A perfect example of how not to run a softplay long wait in queue to sign in. Big food menu written up on the wall but only 2 options actually available, toasties or chips. Very poorly prepared for half term business.

Negative experience: X-Heigh climbing under new management is terrible. Parents are not allowed around children anymore. No more encouragement from parent as parents need to leave. No fun photos - only from distance. All of that, even if climbing session is almost empty. Staff is busy chatting to each other and not paying too much attention to the little climbers. It was fun in the past - not planning to come back anymore. It used to be good :/

Fantastic experience: A really great sports centre, has everything you need from swimming to gym work outs, lovely children's play area and a cafe, so good for families, couples and groups, very impressed. My husband and I have just joined, the staff are lovely, friendly and knowledgeable, can't wait to get started.

Negative experience: Visited the cafe today. Pretty poor show. No sandwich of the day. Finished up with a panini. Only cheese and tomato sauce. Hardly any filling. Only came with salted crisps Only other things on offer 3 flapjacks and two sad muffins.. Where is all the healthy food??

Fantastic experience: My rating is purely based on the staff service i received. When i went to order my coffee for my friends, i accidentally forgot my pin, David and summer were both so helpful in helping me find my pin through my app, and they were so patient with me. They went above and beyond and not only that, they were happy to chat to you and not rush you along.. this kind of service us whats missing from most places now a days, so David and Summer, thank you.

Fantastic experience: We love Abbeycroft Leisure - the Kingfisher pool is much better for little ones, but Haverhill soft play and cafe is perfect. The toddler space is wonderful. Everything is clean and staff are very friendly. Shoutout to David in particular- he was exceptionally friendly and made everyone smile. There wasn’t much food available when we went but he described the pizza twists that they had so well we couldn’t not have one. And they were excellent too! Such a lovely atmosphere all round for anyone with young children.

Negative experience: Pool ok but unfortunately everybody walks with their shoes on in the changing rooms. You can imagine when it is raining, the floor is more than disgusting.

Fantastic experience: A place where kids have so much fun they don't want to leave. The two young men staff at the climb were very friendly and allowed me to go in and help my child as he was climbing for the first time. soft play is also big enough for my two small children to play. The parking was free, although I did buy a ticket ( £1.50 for three hours，very cheap!) the experience was so good, we'll definitely return!!

Negative experience: Was really disappointed with the climbing experience here and in general the staff attitude. This was the first time we had been here, we walked into the front foyer and went towards the climbing wall we had booked. The person on reception (what we thought was just the swimming reception) shouted at us saying ‘where are you going’ in a tone like we were being told off. We have been to many climbing experiences before and the children have loved it. This one the parents were not allowed in to supervise their children, my daughter is 4 and I was very reluctant to do this as she is so young. Within minutes of climbing all 3 children separately came to complain about the harnesses hurting on their chest area. We asked staff if this could be adjusted and they just said ‘no that’s the way it is’, we have never had this issue before at other climbing places. After a couple more minutes the children all gave up as it was hurting so much. We went to reception to tell them as staff in the climbing area clearly didn’t want to help, they allowed us to swap to softplay instead of climbing but not before commenting that ‘the children were ok a minute ago’ like we were lying. 100% will not be coming back and will not be recommending.

Negative experience: Arrived and was asked by reception "where are you going" which wasn't the best welcome. The children were fitted in the harnesses and a brief introduction. Parents are told they are not allowed in climbing area to watch children. After two minutes all three children were complaining harnesses were hurting there chest and had to remove them and stop climbing. All three children have done many climbing walls before at different centres and no problems. When complaining at reception was told "they were ok a minute ago" trying to tell me how my children feel lol. Swapped session for soft play which was ok. Will not be coming back.

Positive experience: Went to Haverhill Abbeycroft leisure after booking a space in the small pool for me and my little one. The place is ok overall and mostly clean. The pool had some toys in it so little ones can play. The reason why I only gave 3 stars is because when I arrived I explained it was my first time there and the person did not even tell me where to find the changing rooms. I didn't feel welcome at all.

Your attention to detail and going out and beyond to accommodate our vision made the day perfect. Clearly dedicated and professional team, highly recommended.

Negative experience: Was a member for over a year but the situation became beyond farcical whether it be the pool being below a temperature that you would deem acceptable to gym equipment being constantly broken whether that be weight training or cardio - shame to see a local facility fall into such disrepair. The squash courts are old and tired with one now used for table tennis which is crazy. I was paying north of £35 a month to be limited to a handful of machines. Feel sorry for the staff who were always helpful. I've since taken my membership elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Had our daughter's birthday party here. Staff were great, marshalled the soft play for us well. We privately hired the soft play, when a few kids not in the party bowled in there they removed them with the minimum of fuss. Was very clean and not extortionate in price.

Fantastic experience: Love and big softplay. Choice of food, kids food and hot drinks. Please note that is a free parking , just add the car reg inside at the entrance.

Negative experience: Have to say, i cant comment on other facilities within the centre but the gym is failing...how you are supposed to inspire new members and keep existing members happy, when every other piece of equipment is either knackered or broken. There is a definate similar theme to AC leisures customer services correspondance...that to seems to be broken having sent several emails on this subject with NO responce. Staff there are great though, but they must squirm with embarassment showing people round and must be bored silly with gym members complaints!

Negative experience: absolutely mortified to the rude ‘ cafe staff ‘. Order 2 Cheesey chip kids lunch box. Says half hour wait. Which is fine. An hour passes, I have to go approach them who didn’t care. Stale bread. Cheesey chips eventually turned up. Slammed on the table with no words coming from your staff members mouth. £50 for what? Messy dirty tables whilst staff members stand chatting moaning about customers. Great work.

Fantastic experience: Great climbing walls, gym, swimming pool, lessons and softplay

Positive experience: Good cardio machines, excellent fitness classes and swimming sessions represent very good value for money, however it is badly let down by the resistance machines of which many no longer work and are out of order. This has been going on for a number of months now and they appear no closer to getting fixed despite members being told repeatedly that it is being looked into. Very friendly staff and overall very good value for money considering membership allows the individual to use the leisure centres at Bury (great gym equipment which is brand new and all works) Newmarket, Sudbury etc. If you want fitness classes this is the place for you - if you want resistance machines and free weights you may wish to consider Pure Gym until Haverhill Leisure Centre gets all the broken equipment fixed or preferably replaced.

Negative experience: Chilly start to school holidays. Pool sooooo cold . Took the the fun out it being a good time. And reluctant to go again

Negative experience: Made quite a drive to come here with my 2 little girls in the summer holidays. They were really excited and had checked the swim timetable prior to leaving. On arrival we were told the swimming pool was closed due to lack of staff, there was no notification on their site. We were all so annoyed. Counter also wasn't working to take payments for soft play. Awful experience and we shouldn't have wasted the petrol or effort. Complete wasted trip and naff start to holidays with grumpy kids. Thaaaaanks.

Fantastic experience: Took a service user for the I can swim session. Staff were amazing, helpful and understanding of special needs. Offered support whilst swimming. Access to pool was easy for someone unsure of their footing. Nice clean changing rooms. Will use again.

Positive experience: I have started at the gym recently here and it's been going pretty well. I was very happy with the induction I received as well as my programme. My main issue is that some of the equipment is out of order for long periods of time. This can be frustrating especially when the equipment or machine I want to use is part of my bi-weekly programme. Nonetheless, still a good gym and I would recommend it.

Positive experience: The place is great, but I'm giving 3 stars because I forgot my swimsuits (mine and my son's) and the next day they already had thrown them away. My son’s loved it, and they throw it unnecessary quick.

Positive experience: I use the soft play here at least once a week and have always been satisfied and the staff have always been pleasant. It was a let down today though as I took my 16 month old and the toddler area was full with much older kids who were creating so much chaos I couldn’t safely let my toddler play in there. The safety door kept being left open and the shapes in there were getting thrown about. It wasn’t fair that the older children were aloud to completely overrule the area. The girl on reception kindly gave me a refund no questions asked but it was a disappointing visit sadly!

Fantastic experience: I'm moving to the area in 3 weeks and wanted to join for swimming. I spoke to a lovely lady and her fiancé who explained about the membership, prices, offers etc. Really helpful and informative gent! I really hope it's that quiet when I go to swim!!!

Negative experience: I would give them zero star if I could, very poor customer service, they cancelled two swimming sessions but never book them in for my children as they promised! No one contact me to sort this out, all they do is to play about somebody's money, no refund and no solution!

Fantastic experience: First time using the swimming pool. Basic membership reduces the cost of a swim by a £1. Lockers need a £1 or token which is returnable. We didn't have £1 on our trip by a very helpful member of staff did so saved the day. Pool is clean and well organised. Staff are all really helpful as a first time user could have put me if the experience didn't go as smoothly. A big thumbs up from me

Fantastic experience: Went for a physio appointment . I was greeted at the entrance by a lovely lady named Kelly , she was well mannered , respectful and pleasant. She walked me to the place I needed to be and explained about the parking . Very professional and even used formal English. Color me impressed.

Positive experience: Leisure centre was great. Huge indoor play bit for the children and a great click and climb bit to. Just don't want a drink from the cafe in a hurry. Staff were nice enough, just so infuriatingly slow.

Fantastic experience: It’s a good gym. Not too busy, plenty of equipment and a good family membership system which includes the climbing and soft play.

Positive experience: Really good pools, slides are good but don't go onto a splash pool. Changing rooms will hopefully be next to be upgraded, like the rest of the centre.

Positive experience: Parking is free if you're a customer. A few activities for kids, swimming has a couple of flumes and the water isn't too cold but changing facilities and showers are poor.

Fantastic experience: Haven't visited in a long time, was very surprised at the transformation, the open plan cafe and children's play area very inviting. I was at a conference in a side room which was functional for need. Gone is the large glass office and a concierge style desk with a friendly welcome.

Negative experience: Disorganised. Twice I've booked online paid and arrived and the facility wasnt available. Charging for parking is not very fair.

Positive experience: There are great things about this place (actual gym, gym classes) and not so great things (freezing swimming pool for toddlers, really poor quality swimming lessons for toddlers). Depending on what you go in for, you might be blown away or not so much..

Positive experience: Most stupid "rule" still in place after all these years!... parents/children must remove shoes to go into changing rooms area, BUT... coaches and most staff wear their outdoor shoes anyway.

Fantastic experience: Xtreme used only today (27/10) @ 2pm. … fantastic staff in xtreme, my two kids thought the young blonde girl was especially kind setting them personal goals once they completed a wall. The kids had a great time and the staff just made it even better. Great organisation, clean, friendly, helpful - have told lots of friends already as they didn’t know it existed …. The time slot was plenty for both kids to go up all walls numerous times. The kids never got bored. We will definitely return as a group. Only let down was the staff and limited products available in the cafe. Cafe Staff came across as though it was a chore them being there, sad as reception, lifeguards, xtreme staff were all fantastic and friendly and seemed to enjoy what they do. I wish other areas such as Newmarket got this kind of funding for children above 8years old. Newmarket AC leisure is a great let down in comparison despite its refurb, Haverhill applies to kids over 7 with xtreme and water flume etc. Nkt applies to under 5’s only with its soft play and basic pool hence we don’t use it.

Negative experience: Even though I have been a member for nearly 8 years it is getting increasingly difficult to get into a class. The staff are very friendly but something needs to be done about the numbers in the class.

Negative experience: Booking at times that i need is near impossible. Pool facitilies inadequate. Lane swim is too packed. Memberships cost is too high for what it is. Im sure the gym is fine so this review only reflects on my use of the swimming pools.

Fantastic experience: Been a member of this leisure centre for 9 year's and always enjoyed and liked the gym and facilities.. Hadn't been for while due to covid19 issues and the whole lock down with the gym not being able to open.. But have now been back since last re-opening and it's run superbly, cleaned so regularly, not allowing too many people in at once is great makes it easier to get on equipment and do your workouts easier.. All the people that are using the centre esp the gym n power room are very responsible and clean down after there self and leave it ready for the next person to use. Matthew is great at cleaning while on duty too he's a gym instructor and very efficient at his job.. If your thinking should I go back then the answer is YES!!! don't hesitate it finely run and as good as always.

Fantastic experience: It was so good ! Rather empty, very clean, tonnes of different routes and obstacles to tackle. My little one loved it ! .... to be honest I didn't mind it either ! Haha I was shattered though. Rather hot and lots of climbing to do ! It was £5.60 for my little one to get in (under 3) 11.30 am till 1pm. Good value I felt ! Happily go again ! Might make it a weekly treat

Because of Covid our time was limited to 1.5 hours which I understand but to charge full price and have to pay for each adult was a bit much. £13 for a 5 year old, 3 year old and me for 1.5 hours.......... Hope they soon decrease prices or extend times.

Fantastic experience: Excellent pools. The imaginatively revamped play area has spectacular climbing walls attended by careful staff, who give training and encouragement. Our fearless grand-daughter when aged 6 conquered all of them; her Dad, who's chary of heights, was delighted to get to the top as well. It will be good when restrictions are limited: this a first-class facility in a smallish town.
