JD Gyms Warrington

Negative experience: Battered gym lockers that don't work, smelly changing areas then to top it off cold showers and no hot water for over a week now, think I'll join pure gym next door.

Negative experience: I just joined and I thought the reviews seemed ok apart from the smell , th fact that the toilet smells better than the changing room its the worst smell you can imagine.. I'm gutted I just cancelled my pure gym next door and now I have to pay for 2 months here before I can cancel. It's full of posers too on a scale I've not seen. I wot be using the changing rooms and will rejoin PureGym , ok it doesn't have fancy neon lights next door but the smell they need to sort that soon.

Fantastic experience: This gym is comfortable lovely place to do some exercise

Positive experience: I was quite amazed when I first walked into this gym but after one month of training there I can see there is a lot to improve: -Definitely there should be someone walking around and sorting the weights out as it’s hard to find some plates most of the time -maybe some more plate stands around the benches to make it easier -Also benches should be changed as they are too small (I am 5’5) and it’s hard to do simple dumbbell bench press on them as the sitting part of it doesn’t fold. -cables are loose and not evenly adjusted which is not ideal if you try to do cable fly on them -also cables might not be holding the weights right because what’s light on one side it will be heavy on another (while having the same weight on) -some sanitisers with paper towels should be somewhere around as people leave their sweat on benches (had to go all the way to the toilet to wipe some off with water) -also one of the studio looks like an old office with. Other than that I am very pleased with callisthenic area of this gym which is really rare and I went to a lot of JD Gyms. There is big potential, it just need to be looked after

Negative experience: I use multiple JD gym sites and have to say this is the worst, the gym looks great with it's neon lights. However the cardio machines especially the treadmills are filthy, and so are the mats when you do floor work on. When you look by treadmill belt the plastic facings are covered in hair and grime. The changing facilities for the gents are diabolical, more than fifty percent of the lockers don't work or are broken. The shower floors are yellow they are that dirty. The toilets smell that bad it hits you before you even enter the changing room. The changing area is also way to small for the footfall of this gym. When you go to other branches staff are constantly cleaning the facilities when you are there, not once have I seen any staff cleaning at this branch. With the money JD must make through this branch alone it is diabolical. Also it's all good and well saying it will be passed onto the management but the management don't seem to be so anything about it, maybe it's the management who are the problem, either way something needs to be done.

Negative experience: The gym equipment is rusted and makes squeaking sounds. It seems like nobody cares about keeping the dumbbells or any weights in the right place, not even the JD pt, managers, or the customers. I don't understand where the money is invested when the equipment is outdated! Special mention zero hygiene in the gym. There's no sanitiser at the gym or paper rolls to clean the equipment—sad state. Ending my term with JD. Back to PureGym, cheers mate.

Negative experience: As part of my multi-gym membership, I’ve frequented this location giving it multiple chances, which is spacious and well-equipped. However, despite its transition from Exercise4Less to JD Gym, it unfortunately retains all the outdated and inferior Matrix equipment from its predecessor, some of which is in disrepair. There appears to have been no effort to refresh or elevate the facility to match the standard of newer JD Gyms, which is disappointing and a strong deterrent for any future visits. The shortcomings extend to the changing rooms, where the unpleasant smell, broken lockers, stained floors, and subpar showers mirror the neglected state of the rest of the gym. The sauna, too, is rendered unusable due to its odour. As such, I will be cancelling my multi-gym membership and would much prefer paying extra for PureGym next door, where the standard is likely to be higher and the environment is properly maintained.

Negative experience: Used to train here. Decent gym in terms of equipment and location, although towards off peak hours people leave their plates around and it becomes messy very quickly. Stopped training here because male PTs train clients in the women's only section even if the main gym is half empty, apparently it's allowed in the rules. No signage to indicate this and it's not ok. Plenty of women use such spaces for either modesty or anxiety reasons and male PTs don't announce themselves before entering which contradicts its purpose. I've spoken to several women who hold the same opinion and have subsequently stopped going here as well.

Negative experience: The state of the male changing rooms at this JD gym is nothing short of appalling. Despite visiting at different times -9 PM yesterday and 3 PM today - I was assaulted by an unbearable stench that made showering impossible. As a lifelong rugby player, I've endured my fair share of grimy facilities, but this crosses a line I never thought I'd encounter in a professional gym setting. The horrors don't end with the smell. Shower cubicles reek of urine, a nauseating odour that permeates even the sauna, creating a hellish steam room of stink. The floors are a testament to neglect, sporting a sickening yellow patina that speaks volumes about the lack of proper sanitation. This isn't a matter of needing a quick once-over; we're talking about a desperate need for industrial-grade decontamination. What's truly baffling is that I've frequented JD gyms with double the foot traffic, yet never encountered such revolting conditions. This particular location stands out as a hygiene disaster in an otherwise reputable chain. While the gym equipment itself is commendable, it's overshadowed by the biohazard masquerading as a changing area. I'm putting this out there in hopes of spurring immediate and drastic action. Without a thorough, top-to-bottom sterilization of the changing rooms, I'll have no choice but to terminate my membership. A gym should be a place to improve health, not compromise it.

Negative experience: Super stinky changing rooms

Negative experience: Worst gym I’ve ever been! I’ve tried PureGym and me personally i loved it there but I said I’ll give JD a try as I know a few people that go there but I regret! I had my lock snapped because I left my stuff in the locker overnight cause apparently you’re not supposed to leave overnight but there’s nowhere saying that! Some of the trainers are also cocky and look down on you and look at you weird and as a plus size person that’s the last thing that you want! Don’t recommend at all! If I could I would give 0 stars!

Negative experience: I have plus member ship when i went there i click on assistance button for almost 20 mints but not any 1 respond from inside.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this gym for a while and I regularly attend yoga classes, David took the session tonight as Simone couldn’t make it and he was brilliant even though it was out of his comfort zone as he doesn’t normally do yoga, he gave us a great session and was lovely! Negative experience: Not happy at all as they took money out even after cancelling my member ship. Its was more than 21 days . I just wish I had cancelled the direct debit So for all you wanting to do the cancellation I would advise you canceled warned about this. U literally have no time to cancell right after the payment has gone. I am going to spead the word and make everyone aware of this

Fantastic experience: I attend Monday, Tuesday & Friday evening's body pump classes. Both Michael & David are amazing instructors and their classes are really dynamic, enjoyable and hard work (in a good way). Body pump classes are the perfect combination of cardio & weight lifting which provides better overall fitness and muscle definition. I have been going for a few months now and I can see a massive improvement on my body and I feel so much better for myself.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym but my favourite is Monday and Tuesday evening body pump class with Michael . He is very professional always ready to help and explain everything. Class is very powerful with amazing music and I feel really good and strong after I finish it every time .

Fantastic experience: Great gym always clean plenty of equipment. The best thing though is Boxerhit classes with the amazing Nicky Moore. I love my Tuesday and Thursday classes with her. Nicky is a true inspiration and the best motivator I have ever met. She works so hard to make each class different, challenging but great fun. Simply the best for sure.

Using all the JD's gyms in the are I can definitely say this one is the one in most need of cleaning staff and maintenance

Fantastic experience: I have been with JD for about 2 years now. I love it, especially the dance class timetable, which is just perfect for me. Their timetable are more focus on people who works 9-5, so you can go in the early morning or after work. The monthly price is good and I have also recommended it to my friends.

Positive experience: I’ve been at this gym for years and usually love it but recently the air con feels non existent, since it’s getting hot outside it’s becoming a big problem especially up stairs it’s unbearable. Making me consider going to another gym which is a shame cos this is usually my favourite, also a lot of broken equipment and missing pieces for cable machines

Was quiet when I was in at midday could imagine this to be a very busy gym in peak hours. Liked the atmosphere and staff were very friendly

I also like the atmosphere there, people who like to work out, people using the mats to do their personal exercises too which I find encouraging as I dont feel like a fool when I use them because Im not the only one! Great entrance as well, easy with the app and the QR code
