Positive experience: Good pool but awful smell coming from ladies toilets. Smelled like urine. It could be smelled in the kids pool area. The ladies changing area was almost intolerable due to smell.

Fantastic experience: Good wee pools. Clean and tidy changing areas and at poolside. Small pool very baby and toddler friendly and temperature higher to encourage too. Main pool about 6 lanes width. Small spectator area. Showers at pool side and separate shower cubicle within separate male and female changing areas. Emergency swimwear stand in case you've forgotten items. Small vending machine with coffees, drinks, treats onsite. Relatively small gym with good modern machine selection. Good free parking provision including disabled spaces at door. Some sessions are organised lane swimming, some with fun floats, early bird swiming available too. Aquaerobics classes too but book ahead as spaces are limited.

Negative experience: I take my 15 month old baby boy often , and he loves it. He loves it even better when it is quiet so he can move about. The gym is great also , but the gym is very small and it is better to get in nice and early. The Ayr pool is amazing. I am thinking Irvine pool might be worth a visit.

Fantastic experience: Took my 9 year old boys and they loved it. Went at 2pm and was very quiet so it was perfect. Open showers to rinse off , with a private shower and toilets in the changing room. Staff helpful and very friendly. One large pool and a baby pool beside it with floats etc, supervised with lifeguard

Positive experience: Nice pool but outdated. Very limited showering facilities. My daughter attends for swim lessons and the teachers are good but the washing facilities are poor.

Positive experience: My partner and I was there with our baby and we really did like the separate pool for the little one the only thing that takes away from here is there is no family changing room so I had to change my baby in the male changing room where there is no baby changing facilities

Negative experience: Absolute joke of a place receptionist. While on phone asked me if I had a booking I said no, she said can you wait till I am finished with this call , I said no problem. Waited patiently for 10 mins while she sorted out her plans and talked about what she had been upto. Then said oh we have no space and you need to make an appointment now. And why you aren't allowed to use snorkel or flippers she said incase the flippers hit someone hahaha honestly I wouldn't have even gave one star. This country is getting worse with stupid burocracy.

Positive experience: This was a GREAT pool, 15 years ago. It is now a relic in need of replacement. That been said the staff are great and the parking is good with a large car park across the street at Morrisons if the pool car park is full.

Positive experience: Small pool for babies but not much more for learners although the main pool does allow kids with adults supervising if they cant swim, it isn't the largest pool I've been in but if your not too fussy it does, there is a gym you can enjoy any day or pay as a member it's close to the town and near the beach so everything at hand, lovely wee town to walk round the beach walk in summer can be stunning it's well worth a visit lots of parking all around town with mobility spaces too but if your on the beach and you need the toilet you'll have to cough up 30 pence to get in so if you have a large family be warned.

Fantastic experience: Helpful and polite staff though a bit busy on the day we visited. Buggy parking area in the spectator section with locks for the buggies is very useful though no village/family changing. Remember to bring an extra £1 coin if you need to use buggy parking, but it's refunded same as the lockers.

Positive experience: Visited the Community Gymnasium at the pool. Equipment is modern and the cost is moderate. There is a lack of trained personnel at the gym, this could be supplemented with staff rotated from the Citadel on certain days and times. I am sure this would be welcomed by my fellow attendees. On the other hand the swimming pool is well staffed by top class and well trained Lifeguards.

Negative experience: Pretty poor excuse for a pool. Every time I take my two year old son into the changing rooms, there's an old geezer with his willy hanging out, despite the fact that there are cubicles. The pool itself is overrun by octogenarians and geriatrics who believe swimming is the cure to them being fat. The pool only has six lanes and usually all taken. The baby pool is OK and probably the only good thing about this place. If I were you, go elsewhere, I'd even go as far as walking across the road to swim in the sea, much more room and probably about the same temperature. Not worth the money at all.

Negative experience: Didn't find the place very friendly. Guards rude on occasions to the kids, witnessed one child being removed from deep end because the female life guard didn't like his swimming "style". The strange thing was that she asked him to swim 2 lengths, which he did! I guess the guard doesn't know the definition of swimming...

Negative experience: Baby pool is warm , it's a pleasure swimming in toddlers pee...there is a rule no shouting but all the life guards do is shout many of the 92748 rules!
