Negative experience: I was here for 6 months but wasn’t that impressed, my main reason for going was a payment bounced back but money was there and they told me I owed double for an admission fee and re admission fee, this made me leave as I’ve been a loyal customer so not impressed considering that if equipment breaks its down for months and the problem is there’s only one of them normally. Also the equipment is old and in bad condition considering how much money they get. The fans don’t work on machines so I get overheated. I think it’s good if you’re a lot younger but personally found that a lot of younger people would sot on machines and sit on their phones so not for me. I’ve gone to smaller gym and everything works really well.

As stated in our terms and conditions, accepted upon membership commencement, we are able to charge up to £20 in admin fees, for a failed payment. We are notified by the bank when a payment has failed; we then notify the member via email. In the email, we state that for a very limited time, we do give the option to make a payment using a debit or credit card for: • Instalment Amount • Administration Fee £ 5.00 This can be done via the members area of our website https://www.puregym.com/members/ with your email address and PIN number. By using this facility, members will not incur the Resubmission fee of £15.00. Additionally, we do have a dedicated Member Services Team on hand to respond to members if they need any help. Positive experience: It’s not bad, for the price. Pros - Clean - Classes are good - 24hrs - Cost Cons - The layout. The space could be utilized way better. Additionally, get rid of some underused equipment, such as ehlipticals. there’s far too many ehlipticals. Put in an extra stair master, or two. put some more weight machines in. - never have I found a set of 12kg dumbbells. Do they exist in this gym?

Negative experience: This gym could barely hold itself am surprised the building still intact. It’s been like this for the past month. I’m paying £30 a month if you guys cannot afford solving the leakage problem you can come to me, I will fund you guys with my money. Reasons why not to sign up to this exact pure-gym: Staff no comment don’t why there’s staff in the first place. Changing rooms lockers broken and don’t function at all. Any issues occurs in the gym it will take them months to solve it. Its basically throwing your money down the drain The only positive thing I’ve seen is the cleaners working hard and keeping toilets clean

Negative experience: I’m only rating one star here so that you’ll see it among the other one star ratings, which are wrong. This is a good gym. There is a one star review here from a year ago that insists you cannot fill your water bottle without plus membership. This is a lie, you can fill your water bottle from a public tap, it’s just that the tap is better designed for drinking directly rather than filling water bottles, however there’s nothing stopping you from filling your water bottle. You only have to pay extra for the sports drink vending machine next to it. Clean gym, pretty large, a lot of cardio equipment, but there are weights and strength machines for use. Perfectly fine gym, got everything you need. If you’re a body builder you might want to go to a more specialised gym, but for casual gym users, it’s great, and it’s open 24 hours.

Negative experience: It's a big place but they basically just filled it with cardio machines. The strength equipment is poorly maintained and there isn't a large variety of equipment. The only positive it does have two benches.

Positive experience: The gym equipments are good and the staffs are really friendly. I have been to other pure gyms as well, but this is the only one I have been where there is no wifi which is really pathetic. WiFi service is considered as a basic requirement even in small cafés. I strongly recommend for WiFi provision please..!

Negative experience: Diverging seated row machine has been broken for about 4 months now …
Fantastic experience: Only go here for convenience, staff are very friendly though, I have only seen about 10 percent of people actually wipe the equipment down so I would clean it before you use it and it's full of posers, other then that the classes that are run are great and good to go to

Fantastic experience: Afriendly place to exercise with a variety of equipments. To cap it all, they were able to freeze my subscription when I moved to different area and needed to sort out my schedule. I like the gym so much that I didn't want to switch to another gym near my new place.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, been going almost two years. But PLEASE fix the smith machine. It’s been out of order for months and at peak times it’s a nightmare with only one working SM

We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Negative experience: It's a great place with lots of friendly people, wide variety of equipment and a convenient location but unfortunately that's about where it ends. It feels like the quality of the gym has taken a nosedive lately, which is a bummer, equipment is often broken, takes ages to repair or is getting flat out worn out with, what feels like, little maintenance being done. On top of that, heating and cooling feel subpar and the volume in some of the classes being ran is loud enough to be heard through my already loud headphones. It's a shame, genuinely like the staff but I hope that PureGym as a chain would up their game.

Negative experience: Need to cap number of memberships, got a 6 month membership and I am deep in pain - 20% training 80% waiting. I hate this place (gym goer of about 2.5 years 5 times a week consistent)

Negative experience: PureGym, more like PureBullocks. Weights have been bought from Temu cause they are fake and light I swear down. Floor is probably uneven, felt like I had Scoliosis on the smith machine trying to do shrugs, as left side felt heavier even though the same weight (or probably not considering half of them are made out of paper). Only flip side is getting to watch my gym partner in the shower opposite me after our workout. Gym is very clean and tidy though to be fair
Negative experience: Shower facilities seriously need revising! No one likes a freezing cold shower after a workout. Came in today to do my Saturday workout. After my workout I jumped in the shower to be hit with ice cold water. I tried the disabled access and again the water was stone cold. It was only last weekend there was a problem with the boiler and it was sorted by midweek. It’s clearly broke again or you’re turning the water down to try and save more money! As other reviews have mentioned in here and on Trustpilot. Around April may time you changed the shower temp to the and save money. This is seriously putting alot of users backs up. Sort the showers out so people can a nice bareable shower after a workout or be prepared to loose a lot of members. This is not good enough. The cleanliness of the showers and toilet block is also somewhat bareable.

Negative experience: Not sure what has happened to this gym, feels like it's being left to fall into disrepair, first vist for about a month, and the AC no longer runs, so doing cardio is extra sweaty, most of the running machines are switched off and there was no paper towel for the machines to wipe down, what is going on?

Negative experience: The gym puts too much focus on courses, they take up a lot of space and are ALWAYS way too loud. I have to put my headphones to the max in order to hear my own music. Besides that, it’s always very full, something that not the gym‘s fault I guess, still annoying nonetheless. They also play audio ads, which are louder than the normal music they play, which is very unprofessional.

Negative experience: Couldn’t get past double pod doors. No one answered when I pressed the help button. It says a staff member will come to meet you. Scanned every scan but no joining code sent. No one answers the telephone as everything done online. Waste of time!

Fantastic experience: Can someone please tell the guy that comes in from 5-6am to stop smashing weights down when finishing a set..really off putting and likely to damage the machines for others

Negative experience: Worse gym I ever been in never seen kit this old ever outside home use. Only plus monthly contract at reasonable price however If you want to refill your water bottle you have to upgrade to plus membership Air is stale they don't have ac running enough Machines are very old that I am not sure how many car boot sales they had to goto before they found all those machines. Perhaps they trying to be retro Would goto everyone active up the road bit more expensive but better kit and you don't have to pay to fill up your water bottle.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Water fountains are available in the gym that members can use to fill up water bottles! The Yanga sports water is available as a Bolt-on, you can find information available through the website or by contacting Member Services. The best way to pass feedback on for practical action is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. Positive experience: Overall a good gym, atmosphere could be improved with better lighting, is annoying waiting for people on machines when they are on social media, politely asked a guy if a could use a leg machine as had been waiting for it and got a very rude reply, will be looking for a friendly gym that's not for posers.

Positive experience: Fairly good gym. Good range of equipment and classes. Bit silly that the changing rooms are inaccessible at night. I felt unable to shower as I didn't want to hog the only available bathroom. Don't understand the motivation for locking the changing rooms. I felt very awkward

Fantastic experience: I’ve only recently starting going to this gym and I love it. It’s such good value for the money. The classes are brilliant! I’ve been to Joe’s, Astrid’s, Jordan’s, Lewis’s and Liam’s classes. All well organised, well planned and explained. Each trainer will push you and encourage you. I’ve seen a massive improvement in my fitness. A really friendly bunch and can’t recommend enough :)

Positive experience: After 2 years of being a member of pure gym I have changed gyms and cancelled my pure gym membership. For me at peak times its just too busy, there were 112 people in the last time i went. Also I find it very frustrating when 4 or 5 people are training together hogging one machine and taking endless selfies. I don't want understand why people don't strip bars after use or replace dumbbells in the correct racks. There is a sad lack of gym etiquette in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: At first, I had several issues with this Gym. I felt dissatisfied and underwhelmed. However, the moment I voiced these concerns, I had an email from the gym manager asking how to resolve my issues, and within a couple of emails everything was completely sorted out. If you're looking for a gym that cares for its clients, I'd recommend this one.

Positive experience: You would imagine people going to the gym to exercise...would not park on the disabled parking just to walk less to the gym, but unfortunately there s always someone parking on the disabled parking or just in front of the entrance when plenty of free space at the back. And there s no disability when they exit the car and please before you say not all disabilities ar visible , you are right , theirs isn t to put it nicely :) just feels stupid nobody from pure gym says nothing to them , that s all. It happens all the time but it seems to be the norm..until you get disabled and realise it s a problem :) just tell them to move the car or risk suspension :)

Negative experience: The gym itself isn’t bad I would give that a 4 start but the type of people are the worst, weights everywhere very few people bother to put the weights away, ‘Personal Trainers’ just look around in boredom while training clients! So definitely wouldn’t be paying for that

Positive experience: This was very close to me and a regular spot when I lived in Plymouth. Trainers were always friendly and were keen to know how I was progressing. The generous availability of bumpers, racks and platforms are ideal for squatting and deadlifting. In fact since I last trained there, I remember there being enough platforms, with integrated power racks. Being situated in a student-friendly location, the branch can get super busy in the evenings during term time, but there will not be a huge wait. I will gladly return when back in Plymouth.

Positive experience: Overly busy after work on weekdays, people don't put weights back, only one leg extension machine and it is almost always occupied, i cant do squats because of a hip problem so I think I have to find a gym with more leg extension machines.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic classes. I love the spin classes that are taken with i believe his name is tom. He is really funny ( the signing) and bossy but in a good way! All of his classes are great actually feel like you leave like you have really achieved something.

Negative experience: Expensive monthly fee for what this gym can offer. Inside is cold, and when you sweet you can "win" a flu. Yes, is big, woth a lot space because have few machines. A lot of trade mills.

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any other/specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. Negative experience: Injured my foot badly on the cross trainer, and there were no staff around to offer first aid. Had to cancel my membership afterward and later discovered it had started up again without my permission for no reason, with no notification.

Positive experience: Customer service is non existent, literally, its unattended and there is no company-customer interaction. There are quite a variety of machines available, this can be a little intimidating to newcomers, but you get used to it. The app is moderately useful, but then again doesn't take into account those who want to do long all day workouts.
Positive experience: Very fairly priced, great equipment, can get overly busy at peak times
Fantastic experience: 24 HR opening times, 8 squat racks and 3 flat bench presses not to mention all the other machines. Been a member for years now and hopefully many more!
