Negative experience: I used this gym since 2019 and then last year I moved to another gym because it was free. Now I'm back. I have to say that people who manage this gym have not learnt anything from COVID or don't know the basic meaning of word hygiene. During covid time, there were multiple cleaning stations across the gym. And now the is only ONE. So if you are training far end of the gym you have to walk to the other side of gym just to get some tissue. It's just so annoying and waste of time. I wish they can bring more cleaning stations to avoid waste of time. I really want to stay as they have brought new gym equipment. But if this continues, I will cancel my membership as I don't fancy using equipments with other peoples' sweat on. Nobody brings towel and it's just so gross guys. Hope this management understands.

Negative experience: Terrible equipment, and they double charged me on my first payment?? Don't come to this gym go to others like 24 Fitness

Positive experience: good access and clean gym the staff are helpful and it is open 24/7 so no need to worry about going when it's busy

Negative experience: Good gym but extremely rude staff. I transferred to a Leeds gym but didn’t like it so froze a membership. JD then unfroze it without warning and continued to charge me for a gym I haven’t been using. Avoid at all costs

Negative experience: Same rubbish equipment as Xercise4Less but charging alot more , the people walk around as 10 men staring you out but when you confront them they soon back off , staff no where to be seen , atmosphere crap , peope use the equipment and just walk off (still using it ) expecting people to wait for them , the 1 star review is being generous , cancelling my membership as of today .

Fantastic experience: Easy to join plenty of equipment to use we have never had a issue with not been able to get on . Very clean well run gym clean showers also .

Positive experience: Fab place to train, however; it would be better if the studio was open longer than 10pm. I am very environmentally concerned about the lack of recycling facilities at this gym. There isn’t much waste other than water bottles and it’s a shame these aren’t recycled. Staff always, always friendly. Mixture of people in the gym all doing their own thing. I feel very comfortable here. The air conditioning could be better, especially in the summer as it’s very hot. They turn some of the lights off too at 10pm, these are LED so not for saving money, it needs to have more lighting.

Positive experience: One of the best JD locations I've been to. Prefer it over the south branch! Lots of space and variety of equipment. Only downside is the lack of staff onsite.

Positive experience: Please please please do something about your in house sound system! **Edit. As of now October 24' they finally did something about it** The music playing has way too much bass and is constantly distorted! This is a trigger for my adhd and sets my anxiety off! Anyone who suffers from this will know exactly what I mean. Please get someone to sort it out. Thank you...!

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym loads of equipment nice and clean staff are very friendly and always there if you need a hand. this gym has disabled access

Negative experience: I have been coming in for the past 2 weeks and thought to myself why I never see any staff. Well until this morning when I had to finish from a station quickly to take an important call. I started walking away to try and get a signal and all of a sudden a miserable looking staff member runs to tap me in the back telling me to put the weights back on the rack. There is a way of speaking to paying customers. I've always put weights back so this was a one off. She could have gone ahead and done it herself since she was next to me and was only a plate of 15kg! Also please fix the Aircon, way too warm!

Negative experience: After coming back to try this gym again, it's terrible compared to other gyms for less money, To cancel your membership, you have to fill out some form, and someone has to accept it, why can't there just be a cancel button on the app. The app is also terrible for a big company like JD. Go down the road to 27/Fitness for £2 less a month. The machines are really crunchy as well and stiff to use. All in all. Wouldn't recommend

Fantastic experience: Went on a day pass and Shah (sorry if I've spelt it wrong) was so welcoming and helpful. Walked me round and made me feel at home. Always nice when you visit a new gym. Loads of space and a great range of equipment for every type of training. Will definitely go back!

Negative experience: Same equipment when it was exercise4less but twice the price. Fair few cardio machines had out of order on. Also Bad smell. Also hot air con either not on or not good enough would be horrible on hot days.

Negative experience: JD you really are letting me down… You are my local gym and I love it here but the whole gym needs some investment! Constant machines which have “Out of Order” signs on for weeks and weeks … Tears in seats … Cable equipment old and battered And what is with a certain group of people being allowed to take over the whole bottom section of the gym for their own CrossFit classes … and making anyone who dares to go into THEIR area uncomfortable as hell! We deserve better … So many of us love “our gym” but you will end up loosing us if things dont change soon

Positive experience: I've been to the JD Gyms on Queens Rd, and I regularly go to the one in Rotherham. To me this gym seems the worst out of all 3. Mainly due to size, the other gyms are a lot more spacious and look more modern. Felt really cramped walking through this gym, few better functional machines in the other JD gyms too. But would say its good for a basic workout routine or for new comers

Negative experience: Average gym, but far too busy pretty much all the time.

Negative experience: I was a member of this jym and they didn't say anything about parking fees, that if you stay for more than 3 hours you will be charged 100 pounds in the parking , and I have now received a 500 pound charge ticket, if I knew the conditions of this jym I would never become a member.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, open 24/7, clean and tidy. Alot of equipment. Have noticed previously that some equipment is out of use which is no issue unless its still broken 6 months later like other known gyms.

Negative experience: Very hard to cancel your membership

Fantastic experience: Enjoy the gym, equipment abit worn compared to some gyms I've been to. Lat pull down they need some maxi grip attachments much better than basic lat pull bar. Other than that overall good gym

Positive experience: There used to be cleaning products available but now I could not find them. The equipment is rather dirty. The mats in female only area are so dusty with hair all over it that it's disturbing sometimes. The equipment is old but that would be ok if it was clean or cleaning products were available. Nice to have female only area. Jd burn class is very good full body workout. I enjoyed LBT and body pump too. I haven't really sampled the other classes. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Negative experience: Temperate these last few weeks in the gym have been absolutely ridiculous - far too hot! Actually considering leaving because of something as easy to fix as temperature.

Fantastic experience: Great clean gym with good equipment, I've only been in the early morning, which can get busy. Male Changing rooms are basic with showers, etc. There are plenty of lockers. You need to bring your own padlock, though, to keep it locked.

Negative experience: It’s a nice gym, but having to pay a parking ticket on match days if you stay longer than 90 mins is a joke. JD gyms should really arrange something with the company.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for the past couple of months. Plenty of equipment and spacious. It's a shame some gym users can't put their mobile phones away when training,it's a bit annoying when you want to use a piece of equipment and you're having to wait for them to post pictures of themselves sat on a machine in the gym looking like they've done a workout Pretty sad really.

Positive experience: Maintained equipment, helpful desk staff, good layout and fair on price. My only fault, getting in contact with customer services is not easy as most places.

Positive experience: Good well equipped gym but the amount of people they let through the door is ridiculous. It’s like a jungle from 5-9pm, and not 24/7 so can’t really try and go at other times if you work. Greed takes over I suppose.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym with really good facilities. Lots of half-racks for barbells, several free weight area options, x-fit style area, more cardio machines than you could possibly need, multiple cable machines and a sled track. Plenty if classes to try as well, for all preferences. Downsides; Only 2 dedicated flat benches and some machines are crying out for duplicates. All in all, an excellent gym for all-round fitness. If you want to specialise (powerlifting, strongman etc.), you might want to look elsewhere though.

Positive experience: Thought it would be amazing when jd took over and at first sight it was. Much better lay out and they added more free weights and cable machines than before. But overall it hasn't changed at all compared to all the other JD gyms across the country. It's lacks alot of equipment you find at all other gyms and has multiple broken machines CONSTANTLY. Been waiting since last November for the hip thrust machine to get fixed and the manager doesn't seem to care at all, he just says there's other things you can do instead of using that machine ‍♀️. All the other the JD gyms are incredible with a much bigger variety of machines and even saunas so why has this JD gyms just re used everything from when it was exercise for less?

Negative experience: What an awful company to deal with.. AVOID Decided to take payments from my bank account 6 months from cancelling, try to call them, long queues. Finally get through to speak to someone, not in the least bit helpful. Email them, they won’t reply for over 5 days. Avoid companies who treat their customers with contempt, use a local independent gym.

Fantastic experience: The best place to train in the area. Awesome kit including Eleiko rig, bars and weights. Massive range of classes,free weights and fixed resistance at an incredible price with a real friendly atmosphere anytime of the day.

Fantastic experience: Much improved since JD gyms took over, better layout, more machines, more free weights, lots of classes. Staff are friendly, one member of staff stands out the most. Assistant manager Abby Walker, she's always about on hand to give advice on classes, putting weights away to avoid tripping hazards. She's very hard working & always says hello to everyone. Makes members feel very welcome.

Fantastic experience: There is a really good selection of equipment. The place is very spacious and clean. Everything is in great condition and the staff are very helpful. All this for just £19.99 a month. Also no contract you just have to give 30 days notice if you want to stop your direct debit.

Negative experience: I never signed up, I was a member of Exercise4Less and have been charged for JD Gyms. I never signed anything, I am not a member and I want my money back immediately. I do not want a cooling off period, I do not want a 30 day notice period, I want my money back. You have stolen from me, I want my money back - I never consented to this, I have not given you my payment details, nor have I signed up as a member. This is an absolute disgrace.

Negative experience: I have had problems canceling my membership I was told I need to do this over the phone yet nobody answers also I have left voice mails and emailed and they haven't gotten back to me.

Fantastic experience: New refurbishment is very good a lot better than it was before one very small point though is that the showers are far too hot to stand under and could do with turning down at little
