Positive experience: Very friendly and helpful staff. The gym is well equipped but can feel busy very quickly especially in the free weights area

Fantastic experience: First visit to this pool First impressions are good - timetable was accurately followed. Friendly staff both on the desk and poolside. Changing rooms and bathrooms clean. Free hairdryers. Easy parking. Pay as you go (£5) is an excellent price and I will visit again.

Positive experience: The gym of the sports center has been re-done not too long ago and it is very good quality with plenty of machines and weights. There are a few lockers outside it but if you need to get changed you have to use the swimming pool changing rooms which can get very hot and stuffy even in the winter which can get quite unpleasant.

Fantastic experience: So I am at TCS (The Cavendish School) and I used to go here for swimming. I don't go anymore and I'm sad about it

Fantastic experience: A really good sports centre. I come here to swim and the pool is good but the additional thermal spa is great considering its just a school sporta centre and not a bannatyne level location.

Negative experience: I've been swimming at IVC for over 10 years & go 3 times a week for swim & Sauna! & Last month I have never felt so Humiliated... Told now I cannot use the nice clean changing rooms because it's Members only now so had to use the disgusting school ones with communal showers & Filthy toilets & thought okay it is what it is, then I went in the Sauna as I have always done to then after 5 mins some kid staff member opened the sauna door Infront of everyone & told me it's Members only now you need to get out... I told him I wish to at least use the clean toilets before I go so He followed me in there watched Me & made me feel like some sort of criminal. I am never going again after this sadly, since gone to the Hive Ely & it's like a different world beautiful clean facilities.

Negative experience: Trying for 3 weeks to get a response for their referral scheme, provided with 3 different emails, still waiting someone to contact me. Their staff has no clue either. A simple process with any other gym seem impossible with them.

Negative experience: Good all round and good staff. But not enough classes or booking time needs to be changed. It's always booked up to early have to get up at 6:30am to book a class. Not ideal when you work evenings!!!

Positive experience: My kid goes here for learning cricket. The staff and coaches are really friendly and good. My kid loves going here.

Fantastic experience: Have been going there for a little while now. The instructors are very good and friendly. They had a refit 18 month ago, all new equipment. Equipment is regularly serviced. Wetwipes dispenser/stations all around the gym floor for easy access. The place is kept really clean, well looked after. Check it out. Well, worthwhile. Ps Spin classes awesome

Positive experience: Decent gym with a good amount of space, £35/month for gym only + classes. Would have preferred a cheaper membership option without the classes. I found the weekend closing times a little restrictive so have switched to a 24hr gym.

Positive experience: I have been a member for a number of years and really enjoy visiting. Recently, all of the equipment was upgraded and has made a great difference. Wi Fi is hopeless with no sign of any improvement .

Positive experience: Oh dear: Female Toilet Facilties in the Sports Changing Room near to where indoor games are played, abysmal and extremely poor! Wonder what the mens toilets are like! Went here for an activity which was promoted by the college in the evening. The instruction and course are excellent. Not what you expect in a college that has an excellent reputation for high class teaching etc.

Positive experience: Nice clean gym, classes are a good addition to the membership and so far they've been both great and make you work hard. Changing rooms are nice too.

Positive experience: With regards to badminton: The hall is antiquated, as are the nets, and there are lights in need of maintenence, but the floor is fantastic and the badminton club very well organised.

Positive experience: Clean, tidy and friendly place. Pool is nice, as a viewer there is plenty of space and viewing of the pool. Conference type room is large and spacious, is used for some exercise events but also birthday parties and club agm's. Toilets do need sorting for the viewing area. They are tiny and only 2 of them which are often out of service. The disabled toilet is clean. The toilets for the gym you have to use are well away from the viewing area and are clean and tidy. Free WiFi is a bonus. Staff are still friendly and helpful

Fantastic experience: Really good gym, has most things I imagine you'd need. Prices are reasonable. Staff are really helpful and approachable. My only real criticism is that classes aren't the most newbie friendly but you get over it quickly.

Positive experience: Helpful staff and a great facility to have on your doorstep. Minus one star for promoting junk food drinks to kids. They can’t make rational decisions which why we now have strict rules on advertising for children. I buy my kids treats but I want it to be my choice and I hate the inevitable pestering whenever I visit with them.

Positive experience: The Gym is cluttered. The weights section is too busy. On the other hand there are 30+ running/cycling/steppung machines which are not too busy. It could be much better if half the running machines were gone to free up space for more wrights and stretching. Othetwise good member dressing rooms, decent swimming pool and sauna/steam room.

Positive experience: Often go swimming and use the badminton courts here, both can be rather busy so pre-booking badminton courts is kind of required. General swims can be rather busy to depending on when you go but I rather ha e had issues even then. Stuff are friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: We have been playing badminton here every week for years, yet the courts are never set up on time, and we end up breaking the nets down ourselves most weeks!

Positive experience: Pay as you go entrance is quite different from monthly direct debit. Not very nice changing area for pay as you go, but I heard the other one is much nicer if u pay monthly. The pool itself is nice and warm. People there are friendly.

Fantastic experience: Very good facilities for old folk like me: have a swim, quick sauna or steam, join in the aquafit session (aerobics in the shallow end) and shower off. Get membership and it all works out REALLY cheap! Don't be shy, tell 'em your age and get a reduction. And the members' changing room is pretty good.

Positive experience: 2015 I hate and love this place. The shower room is full of body hair and the swimming pool is almost always closed for the public. Fitness side is very good however and it has many facilities. Could be cheaper and open earlier and the spa area could be a bit warmer as it's too cold to relax. 2016 Update: recently rejoined (June 2016) and I see a lot of improvements. A bit more public swimming, cleaner changing room, warmer relaxation room by the sauna. Thanks for listening to the reviews.

Negative experience: Enthusiastic instructors and mostly good exercise classes - if you can get into them. Regulars book everything a week in advance so you have to be organised and quick to stand a chance. Most classes held in small, cramped room in the gym, which isn't great when there are barbells involved. The nice, airy downstairs room seems to be woefully underused considering how many members go on 'Reserved' for classes. Overall, an okay gym. You get what you pay for. If you're signing up for monthly payments make sure you do cancel a month in advance in writing - don't just cancel your dd. Made that mistake when we moved away from the area and was hounded by their account lady.
