Positive experience: Great place if you have kids and active family life. For others, not so much. My review is only focused around using the gym and pool: Staff are generally really friendly and the facilities are all new which is nice. There's a welcoming atmosphere whenever you come in and there's a nice mix of abilities in the gym so I don't imagine too many people would feel intimidated unlike other gyms. However a few things which just didn't work for me personally... The pool is too inaccessible. Three times in a row now I've checked in, gone to use the pool and been told I can't because the school kids are about to come in, or a swimming lesson is on, or some other event is about to start. Use by school kids is fine, they warn you when signing up, it's just easy to lose track of time. But other times it gets really frustrating and today I wasn't warned at check in that the pool would be out of use for lessons. The changing rooms & showers are mixed use and constantly wet as they're shared with the pool facilities. They have cubicles but I don't understand why anyone does this, it's a horrible mess and uncomfortable. More importantly...the changing rooms are also shut when the school kids come! Finally, I don't like that you have to check in at the main desk every time you come. The barrier is left open anyway and when they do close it, you get talked down to by staff at the desk for not checking in. Feels pointless having the tag with the bar code then when you sign up, what's the point? Overall, it's a decent place but could be so much better.

Positive experience: Very friendly place and staff are great Clean and nice place. But I don't like changing room are mix man & women I tried zumba dance lesson today with Laura, I was not impressed, she does not fit to be a training and teaching a dance. I went a lot gym and zumba in Stoke-on-Trent, Laura in Congleton leisure worse I have never seen. I hope Congleton leisure consider it Thank you

Positive experience: First time visitor to use spa facilities... Modern and clean. Cost to use was ok considering you could also use the pool... Steam room had recently been repaired but needed to be hotter with more steam!

Fantastic experience: What an amazing gym I was in Macclesfield for a wedding with my wife and some of her family and stayed in Congleton for a couple of nights and found out the leisure centre was only 5 mins from where we were staying what an amazing place the gym was very modern and had the latest technology easy to find and park staff were very friendly and accommodating I went for 2 days in the morning for a couple of hours the first day I got a free pass which I got online and the second day I paid which was £9 for using the gym only would highly recommend to anyone

Negative experience: Classes cancelled 75 minutes before it starts, it's hard to get in a class & there doesn't seem to be any cover. I've been in a class waiting for the instructor , go to reception to check all is okay to be told oh its cancelled, there was half a class waiting. Disappointing.

Negative experience: My daughter was injured at the congleton leisure centre due to the failure of a member of staff at the soft play. She was hit in the head with a glass door!!!!!!!! I was meant to get a call from the site manager - no call. She was knocked to the floor as a result of a member of staff opening the door on my child who was stood with her granny. The method of leaving and entering the facility is not safe as the door only opens inwards and there is a large pillar blocking the view point of the staff. The staff member did not check it was safe to open and opened it on my 17 month baby!!! It’s actually disgusting that no one has called me To follow up on this considering I’ve rang and an accident report was also carried out. I will continue to persue this as this has happened to other children before. It says on the sign that the leisure centre doesn’t accept any liabilities but does this count when a member of staff is negligent in their job? Original review posted elsewhere for context My daughter was hit in the head by the glass door at the soft play by a member of staff! My Mum & my daughter went to the soft play at the congleton leisure centre and as they were leaving together stood by the entry/entry door. The lady behind the counter opened it on to my 17 month old baby knocking her head, and her over. My mum and daughter were stood holding hands preparing to push the button to go. This isn’t the first time and not the last time either this has happened to young children. It is not a child friendly design. The design itself is a glass door, that when the lady working at the counter opens it for other guests entering the softplay,, she cannot clearly see if anyone is at the door getting ready to exit as there is a large beam blocking the view. The door also only opens one way, into the soft play - surely if there is an unclear POV of anyone at the exit then it should open outwards to people entry where the softplay operative can see if they have are safe to open it. It’s glass too? What a stupid idea - kids don’t know it’s there? My daughter did no wrong, she was stood with her gran getting ready to go and my mum was about to press the leaving button. Instead she got knocked in the temple by a glass door by someone behind the counter who couldn’t be bothered to check if it was safe to open- the door swings at such a speed it knocked her over. You are lucky she didn’t crack her head open on the floor or a table or chair. She had an accident report done and first aid come as she was in such a state. Who were quick to the scene. I rang the leisure centre up to say this isn’t good enough and I was told I would review a call from the site manager - this still hasn’t happened and this event happened on wednesday 11th sept. Now it says Congleton leisure centre can’t accept any liabilities for accidents, how about an injury caused by a member of staff as a result of a facility design flaw? Hmmmm I will continue to escalate this so it doesn’t happen to any other child and seek liability for this accident. My daughter is a baby, she should be safe at a soft play!! The fact I was promised a call and haven’t got one is disgusting. The fact my daughter was hurt because staff is disgusting. This could have escalated - she could have cracked her head open on the door, or hit her head on the corner of the glass door - luckily she didn’t.

Fantastic experience: Great place. Amazing staff, in particular, Pete who i see most mornings around the leisure centre very friendly. The gyms great it has a good selection of machines and free weights and the sauna area is also very nice and clean

Negative experience: I gave this review one star so that people will take note. Facilities are good, but there are some sketchy people who visit. My first poor experience was in May, there was a young boy in the thermal spa (younger than 16) taking a video of the place. It took about 15 minutes for security to rid of him, the security guard should have immediately said “Out. Now.” I then visited today for a swim with my daughter and someone took the effort to unclip my towel from the peg in the swimming area (it was clipped to the peg with my heavy duty hair clip) and ran off with it! I alerted the lifeguard who told his manager- we looked around the place and couldn’t find it. They then escalated it to the manager on duty who cheekily said ‘we’re sorry it happened but she can buy one of our towels for £7.’ Seriously?! I had been thinking about getting a membership, but this is too much.

Positive experience: Pool literally made my skin peel it is so heavily chlorinated, reception staff lovely, no power points for hair styling tools, hair dryers provided are little more than ornamental. Swimsuit dryer broken.

Fantastic experience: A great place! Always clean, great service and variety of classes. Gets quite busy between 5-6.30pm, however, you can still find a place. I would definitely recommend it!

Fantastic experience: Very clean and modern leisure facilities. I enjoyed the accessible pool and spa. Didn’t try the gym but it looked great.

Negative experience: Gym is a bit small, overall mediocre. The equipments are pretty new and are nice technogym stuff, but there’s basically only one of each equipment apart from the treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and rowing machines which realistically isn’t good enough, but i suppose space is limited. The lack of mirrors though is definitely one of the biggest flaws with this gym. There’s only a mirror in front of one of the two squat racks and one in front of the free weights corner downstairs. Upstairs there’s one mirror which is situated furthest away from any equipments, where the stretching area is. That means people who want to look at themselves to check for form etc, will be in your personal space when you’re using the squat rack downstairs or doing stretches upstairs which makes it incredibly awkward and hard to focus. By no means is this review targeted towards any staff as they are all helpful. Just a shame with the facilities considering this is not a cheap membership. Anyways I’d give it three stars if there were more mirrors.

Fantastic experience: Can get super busy on the weekends. But lovely clean swimming pool, lots of changing areas and the gym area is well equipped

Positive experience: Equipment is quite limited for the number of members, so certain equipment can be quite difficult to get onto. Also the free weight area is incredibly small, so not somewhere I'd recommend if you were wanting to focus on weights. On the plus side, cardio equipment is quite vast.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities and friendly staff. We attend for my daughter’s swimming lessons she has come on so far thanks to the support of the instructors. We would highly recommend to anyone looking to get their little one swimming!

Fantastic experience: Great place, very friendly staff throughout. A pleasure to go there. Parking can be a bit troublesome though as non Centre users are parking there for the adjacent park or town centre. Cheshire East and Everybody Leisure could fix that.

The staff is incredibly welcoming and always ready to help with a smile, which makes the whole experience so much better. Pete, one of the personal trainers, is absolutely fantastic—his knowledge and encouragement are unmatched, and he genuinely cares about helping you reach your goals. The classes offered are amazing and cater to all interests and fitness levels. Personally, I really enjoy the yoga sessions; they’re calming, well-structured, and led by knowledgeable instructors who create a supportive atmosphere. The swimming facilities are also top-notch, making it easy to get in a good swim anytime. Overall, Congleton Leisure Centre has it all—a supportive team, excellent facilities, and a wide range of activities to keep you engaged and motivated!

Fantastic experience: Good, modern spa facilities, nice pool and good cafe area outside. There is plenty of parking and an accessible entrance.

Negative experience: If you are looking for a place to exercise seriously and efficiently, I suggest moving out of Congleton. There is no such thing as a good gym.

Fantastic experience: It’s not every day you get to see amazing customer service in a gym. It’s silly season, gyms are getting busy, queues are starting to build. But something happened yesterday to remind me what it means to provide a great service. It doesn’t take much to notice someone with a young child, disappointed look on child’s face, thinking they are about to miss eagerly awaited, family swim. But when someone did notice, came to us in the queue “are you here for family swim?”, made everything possible very quickly, with minimal fuss, as other people handled new memberships. It made a difference to my little one. Even offering a locker token when the “rushed off his feet and a little tired father” had forgotten simple things like money. It made a difference to me. I just wanted to reach out to that very helpful person at Everybody Congleton to say thanks and to highlight that it is the little bit of attention that makes a difference at this time of year. That little bit of effort has just made me a customer for life. And yes, Hannah, my 7 year old wanted to say thanks too. And that she did her best dive ever yesterday.

Fantastic experience: Dropped in with my daughter and granddaughter (2 yo) to use the soft play area and cafe. We were all delighted. The staff members were lovely, the food was excellent and very good value. Everything was clean and tidy and made for a really enjoyable experience for all of us. The soft play area is brilliant.

Positive experience: For a new build, I can't fathom why it was thought to have a public cafe that literally anyone can walk in and watch children swimming. Surely, this is a safeguarding issue. Other sites even pull curtains across when kids even in the sports hall nevermind half naked swimming. It's also always freezing when you get out of the pull because the main door lines up with the swimming changing rooms entrances, and they are always both wide open due to the frequency of people coming and going. My son cries his eyes out getting changed after swimming because he's freezing, and I'm freezing too. And the pools are cold too. I just feel the design is bad, and please, for the love of God, turn the heating up!

Negative experience: Nice new modern facility completely let down by the lack of parking, they obviously mis-judged how many spaces they needed. Mondays are particularly bad as along with children’s swimming lessons there is also a large running club who ironically all arrive in cars meaning there is nowhere to park when bringing my girls to their swimming lessons for 6pm

Negative experience: I took my 14-month-old daughter for a swim at 2:45 pm today and after about five minutes in the water, she was screaming. I could not understand what was wrong so I tried to persevere, but she was clambering over me, trying to get to the sides, trying to get out of the water. Then I noticed a red spotty rash start to appear on her body, and I realised. There is too much chlorine in the baby pool. Should have put two and two together when my eyes were stinging. I also recall seeing members of staff dipping something into the water, presumably to test the water after myself and several others had already gotten into the pool. In addition to this there were large undiluted chlorine disks laying around the poolside

Negative experience: What kind of leisure centre doesn't let you buy a day pass.. it's a terrible little public gym not Azkaban.. don't worry though, you can apply for a day pass and maybe get one in 48 hours ‍♂️ Facilities aren't great for the money either, surrounding gyms like gymetc are cheaper with more, better and cleaner facilities/equipment.

Fantastic experience: A great first experience. Joanne and Duncan were very welcoming and friendly upon my first visit, despite it being the final few hours of opening on a Sunday. They organised a last-minute tour of the facilities; knowing I was new to the area, and I was very impressed. I will be returning soon!

Negative experience: Disappointing! At least the gym area is, in terms of actually being able to do a workout! Not enough equipment/machines, and the free weight area is just not big enough! Only 3 benches so nearly impossible to get on unless you’re really lucky! Machines are always full of people playing on their phone in between sets but for ages it’s pointless trying! And also who wants to wait around for an hour to start a workout! You have massively oversold the memberships! Tonight I literally had to just drive straight home couldn’t get onto a single thing! I will be looking for another gym asap! I will not be paying £30 plus a month for nothing! You don’t even list busy/peak times so that people know! It isn’t good enough for the price you’re charging!

Fantastic experience: Used soft play for our granddaughter. She loved it, almost 2 hours non stop play for about £3.00. Been several times, very good value and the kids love lt.

Fantastic experience: Good range of facilities with a decent quality that one would expect from a new local Leisure Centre. It has gym, various activity rooms, kids and adults swimming pools. A suite with sauna, steam room, cold/hot shower, ice, couple chairs to rest, and a drinking water. A free big parking that can be quite busy at times. Changing room for a saunas/pool is mixed gender with closing cabins some of which has tables for little kids. Pound lockers. A caffe next to kids attractions and viewing area for swimming pools.

Positive experience: First time back at the newly-refurbished leisure centre. Took my daughter for the afternoon fun swim session which was very popular but they had coloured wristbands in place to everyone got a turn. The new centre seems very light, spacious and clean. The changing rooms are a bit of a free for all with fully mixed areas (although all individual cubicles) but I suppose that makes sense for full flexibility. All in all it was a positive experience and it's good to see it back open for the town after such a long time being closed.

Negative experience: After making a complaint, being lied to and requesting a manager deal with my issue I have been ignored! Don’t waste your time with everybody as they just ignore their members!

Negative experience: Very good liesure center. Polite helpful staff. However there are cheaper gyms in congleton with better facilities. The membership fees are high and the options are limited. I think thier pricing themselves to high.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful leasuire centre I joined the gym and they just tried to take me for every penny I owned one minute it was £22 a month and then 2 days later it was £36 a month and then I didn't pay £16 for induction because I was part of active lives so then charged me something else for £16 instead so in one month they wanted £52!! just wanted to join up pay each month and workout but instead I just got a load stress from it I will never join this gym again. Money grabbers

Negative experience: I rated one star because people don't think from the disabled. They just took OUR disabled changing room I AM disabled but this happend twice now not impressed
