Fantastic experience: went swimming and staff were lovely, Chris I think his name was, fixed our goggles and was super nice

Fantastic experience: A nice modern centre with very welcoming staff. Gym was well equipped and good showers. Recommended stop-off whilst on holiday for your workout.

Positive experience: Staff are lovely, however the changing facilities are awful. The cubicles in the swimming area are far too small and there are no baby change facilities which was really disappointing

Fantastic experience: Super! Community owned and it feels it. The staff are the absolute key to this places success. Very friendly and helpful. The cafe serves great coffee and cakes. The soft play is new (as of 2024) and a great hit with my kids. Pool is on the chilly side (great in the summer when beaches are heaving and for a proper aerobic swim session.)

Fantastic experience: While on holiday in Cornwall we swam here each morning. Lovely service by staff who were very attentive. Always good parking and plenty changing cubicles as well as lockers. Can’t fault the place

Positive experience: I visited the centre twice whilst staying at the Little Bodieve holiday site, I easily set up a pay as you go non member online, and booked my sessions via the app. On my first visit the receptionist took me up to the gym which was very good customer service. The gym is small and compact, 3 good squat areas and lots of free weights. The equipment is a mix of old technogym & some Lifefitness. Overall a good stand in for me whilst on holiday.

Fantastic experience: My son has one 2 one swimming lessons with casey, she is great with him and makes the lesson fun. He loves them

Positive experience: Not bad. Apart from 1/4 of the pool being rioed off for 1 swimmer.

Positive experience: Very laid back and chilled. The pool was slightly on the cold side but I liked the deepest section being in the middle of the pool instead of one end like most pools I've been too

Negative experience: I am a avid gym member at the leisure centre and I am under the age of 16 but most of the are fine with me staying longer the 4 o clock but one staff member is extremely arrogant and will not let me and my friends stay any longer we don’t mess around and just get on with our work out will be cancelling member ship and will not be coming back

Negative experience: Having used this facility for my son’s swimming lessons previously it is a great leisure centre and all the staff have been great. However, I have recently attempted to contact the centre and it seems this is impossible now they are run by “Better”. I had booked swimming lessons for £80 but needed to amend something which I couldn’t do online. I phoned the number which appears to be the local centre. There are many options to choose from and was on hold for ages before someone answered, only to tell me to send an email to customer services, to which I have had no response (apart from the automated reply). This is so incredibly frustrating and a simple phone call should resolve this issue but it is impossible. The community have fought so hard to keep this facility open and it is sad to think people may not be using it because you cannot telephone individual leisure centres to speak to a friendly staff member. These call centres are ruining our local services.

Fantastic experience: Good leisure centre. Pool and gym in one, so very handy. Parking is pretty good, and can use the school car park at weekends etc.

Negative experience: No way to call and find out simple information that is not available on the website. Frustrating to have designed a phone system which keeps you on the phone for far to long only to be told to go to the website.

Negative experience: Completely unable to get through to a person on the phone and website unhelpful re swimming timetable - meant we were unable to take the kids swimming this holiday. appeared to be a company issue (run by “Better”) as same issue with Newquay Leisure Centre

Negative experience: It's really cold and the netball court is a bit rubbish.

Positive experience: Easy to get to, by Wadebridge school. Lots of facilities.

Negative experience: Tired looking facility which needs investment. No lock on the toilet door and a sports hall that harks back to the old school gym. Cold, grim and a little uninspiring for a place trying to motivate you to get active.

Negative experience: Pool and changing area very dated. The one family change cubicle is not at all suitable with no bench or changing table. The main pool seems ok but the child/training pool is not fit for purpose. It’s too cold for a baby / toddler to be in for any length of time and the depth odd not deep enough to assist kid without being stopped over constantly but too deep to leave kids without constant assistance. Staff were friendly, parking free but limited, price was fair for adults, kids under 3 free but paying for 2 adults to use a kids pool that was unsuitable seemed a bit of a waste.

Fantastic experience: It has been refurbished and is now a very nice placd to be.

Fantastic experience: The gym is small but suited my needs, very clean. Staff very helpful, the only complaint that I have is I thought £10.00 was a little steep considering I was only there for an hour.

Positive experience: Half term and the sports hall empty nearly all day. What a waste, no wonder when it costs £12.40 for 1hr on a badminton court.

Negative experience: Sadly gone rapidly downhill since taken over by 'Better'!. Lots of classes no longer running, pool often cold and swim changing rooms grubby and dated. Great staff though, they deserve a big thanks for all they do.

Fantastic experience: Small gym but equipped with plenty of free weights and other workout machines (cardio and strength build). Has a swimming pool for adults and children. £10.00 day which is quite pricey in my opinion however memberships are reasonably priced.

Positive experience: Getting a little on the dated side. Be nice to get some olyimipic bars, squat racks etc. Hopefully some new investments will be made with the better company taking over centre. That said facilities are clean and staff are friendly
