Fantastic experience: I would rate this gym 5/5 because of the excellent staff. I trained there for a day, and the two ladies at the front desk were incredibly nice. The only downside to this gym is that it’s quite small, so you may have to wait for machines or weights.

Regarding the size, there are gyms for example that are twice as big but they have three times as many members, so the issue of having to wait for equipment is more critical. Usually our members don’t have to wait though.
Negative experience: I havent been to the gym. But the arsey replies to bad reviews tells me all i need to know about joining. Consider getting someone who knows about pr to compose your replies.

Negative experience: Terrible Gym very small sweaty, machines don’t work, and when you try and say you want to leave the gym , they call fake debt collectors, do not be scammed by this gym.
Mr Alamdari I am curious if anyone forced you to join the gym? If the gym is indeed as you described it, why didn’t you cancel during the 14-day cooling-off period? Ignoring the fact that you had signed a contract, you cancelled your Direct Debit, claiming that “Digital Signatures” are not binding, and as you put it “it had to have wet ink” to be acceptable! Then you said you were on Universal Credit, using this as an excuse to get out of your contract. Honesty is a good thing – Had you genuinely had financial issues, we would have certainly taken that into account and would have helped you.
Negative experience: Do not go to this Gym, it’s tiny, equipment is never free and the floor space is tiny. I was sold the membership told they did classes which they don’t. I got caught out in a year contract which I could not end which renewed automatically without telling me. I tried cancelling my membership 3 times and charged late fees and extending the months my contract expired each time I tried to leave. The staff are unaccommodating and unfriendly unless it comes to money.
I’m not sure why a very few ex-members who happen to also be very angry by nature and vocal, don’t understand that cancelling their DD does not mean they have actioned the cancellation of their membership!
Negative experience: THIS GYM SHOHLD BE CLOSED DOWN! UPDATE: Having been made to pay an extra month, I have been told I don’t have access to the gym because I haven’t reinstated my direct debit. So I have literally paid and they refuse access unless I reinstate payments which take months to cancel…Absolutely shocking customer service. The gym itself is not particularly well equipped. I cancelled my membership two weeks before the next payment was due and cancelled direct debits, only to be met with a rude and threatening email demanding I pay another month, and failure to do so would result in ‘penalties’ and ‘referral to debt collection’. Avoid at all costs!!!
Hello Emily, We are sorry about your frustration regarding your cancellation but this is just the normal procedure used by all Anytime Fitness clubs and we simply followed the procedures outlined. We have sent you the contract that you signed and highlighted the requirement for one month's notice. Members who have payments due should not cancel their DD mandate as this further complicated the cancellation.
Negative experience: They make it very hard to cancel membership pretty much impossible online I've sent emails, messages and called all have just been ignored, hard to get through to someone, they just want to take your money.
Sorry to hear about your frustration. Whether online or via email, as long as contractually you are able to cancel, the turnaround is pretty much immediate. The system used is identical across all AF clubs and I can assure you none just want to take your money. Whey don't you email one more time [email protected] ? I will personally look into it. Do you think a 1 star review is fair?

Negative experience: It took me months to cancel my membership after moving away while Anytime Fitness tried to use every trick in the book to keep taking my money.
You are being unfair here Ed. On two occasions (16th of July and 27th August), we asked you to advise on what you wished for us to do. By just telling us you were moving away, it doesn’t mean you want to cancel your membership, as you are aware, your membership allows you to use other AF clubs that you could potentially have used. We are unable to make decisions for you if there are no responses from yourself, and as there wasn't any correspondence, no action was taken.
Negative experience: Original Experience: I gave this gym a 1-star review because one of the machines I tried to use was soaked with water leaking from the ceiling, making it unusable and unsafe. I raised this concern in my review, expecting the gym to take it seriously. However, rather than acknowledging this concern, their response undermined my feedback, dismissing it and implying that I didn't understand gym etiquette or their cleaning process. Updated Feedback: I didn’t mean any harm with my original review—just wanted to share my honest experience. But the way the gym responded, dismissing my concern about water leaking onto equipment, speaks volumes. Rather than acknowledging the situation and focusing on explaining that it was resolved, the gym chose to undermine my concern. For future customers, this might be something to consider when evaluating how much they value client customer safety and input. For a gym that has no staff available at all times, expecting customers to provide feedback in any other way than the fastest and most immediate method is ridiculous.
Giving a 1 star for a leak which was out of our control (the amount of water in the photo is exaggerated by probably pouring water from the water bottle that can be seen) speaks volumes about your motivation. You could have emailed us directly rather than what you did! —————————————————————— Original Response It seems that you were looking for an excuse to leave a 1 star. This photo is probably taken after someone had poured water on the equipment. There were one or two small drops every few hours. Had you discussed with us, we would have explained to you that the source was very difficult to identify and it took a number of visits and finally had to use specialist cameras to discover that behind the Tesco (they are above us) display fridges there is a floor drain and every so often the fridges condense and discharge water. As the floor drain was not properly sealed, the drops would find their way to this one spot on the gym's ceiling.
Negative experience: Extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour from both Jemel the current manager and the owner Hamid. Unable to provide correct information, will gaslight you and lie to suit their own narrative. My case is still ongoing doing to their arrogance and inability to accept they have made a mistake.
Positive experience: Very nice but quite small
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’d like to highlight that the size of a club, as long as it has a good selection of equipment, becomes relevant when there is no membership cap. We cap our membership, so compared to a club that is twice as large but has 3 times as many members, you tend to find that at busy times, our members rarely have to queue up to use an equipment.
Negative experience: Currently engaged in a formal complaint process with this Chalk Farm AF on the basis of a mis-sold contract renewal. With the full knowledge of a possible relocation a worry for me; they assured me all I had to do was let them know about my relocation and they would cancel my membership. Now that I am relocating, with the closest AF gym over a 3-hour walk for me, they refuse to cancel my membership despite giving them 2 month's notice and instead they point me to the '15-mile radius' criteria in the fine print which they conveniently neglected to inform me of when they got me to renew. Unscrupulous to their core.

Negative experience: Full of plug in air fresheners which sets off my asthma with no ventilation. Also, very busy constantly.

Positive experience: Would like it if the music was turned down after around 22:30, not a lot of people and it’s a bit loud. Changing rooms could also be a little cleaner. Overall a great little gym though.

Fantastic experience: Good, dependable gym, located very conveniently near the station. Lovely staff; there was a mix-up with my sign-up process which Gordon worked hard to fix for me. The gym is in a basement but it's well equipped and effective. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: It’s a lovely 7/24 hour gym which it’s very convenient for all the people live nearby. The gym is new and staff are supportive and friendly! I joined this gym since it opened from December 2022, I started coming here to practice running and now I can confidently run 5km on the treadmill. I also start to use different equipments. I made a big progress and did gain a lot of confidence here! I will miss here!

Fantastic experience: Great compact 24/7 gym. Always not too busy and never have had to wait for equipment. All you need to for a full workout and a punching bag which is unusual and a great pro to the gym. Showers/toilets always clean with shower gel and hairdryers. Easy to use lockers. Vending machine has good selection of shakes/bars and drinks. The staff are really welcoming and supportive happy to motivate and help with any workout and life related questions. Gordon was particularly helpful when I first came and continues to motivate every time I come in!

Fantastic experience: Arrived in London from Melbourne, found anytime fitness the next day, and met with Gavin, who was a total superstar, helped me sign up for the few weeks I’ll be in London with a visitors pass, if I lived here I’d become a member in a heartbeat! If your a traveler passing through, there’s ample equipment and the vibe is great! this is the only gym you’ll need.

Fantastic experience: Joined the gym when opened in December!! I’ve joined few gyms in the past but AF Chalk Farm is by far the best! The staff at AF, Gavin and Gordon are superb! Always there to help with anything needed. The gym is very clean and tidy! Equipment is top quality. AF have recently just purchased an Ab Cruncher machine! The Gym has everything you need and are always looking to go one step further! I’m starting to think a sauna and steam room will be installed next!

Fantastic experience: I joined the gym in December thinking I made a mistake. I now know this has definitely changed my life! I’m enjoying the gym every morning before work. The gym is clean tidy and changing room/showers are great. I would like to also mention the staff. Gavin is very helpful and easy to approach when asking about different exercises. Gordon is also very positive when helping me train. He has told me he will help me use the ab cruncher when it arrives! Gordon is a proper G! ✌️

Positive experience: I had a trial at Chalk Farm and felt it was a really good gym. I do agree with one of the comments below about the ab cruncher. I feel this is a good machine to have.
