Negative experience: The gym floor looks like it was put together in the year 2000 with various sticky plaster add-ons throughout the years. Plates are all different brands, ditto the dumbbells. Machines are old, no frame, no olympic lifting platform, no assault bikes, one 15kg bar in the whole gym, lots of women lift these days so to make them use the 20kg is pretty backwards.. The list goes on. It needs a serious revamp to keep up with the current gym goer expectations, even Pure Gym are better equipped and has better aesthetics! I've had unauthorised payments coming out of my account, it was easier drawing blood out of a stone than getting the sales team to get this refunded. Still waiting for this to appear in my account. Do better guys.

Negative experience: All the other David Lloyds I've been too are brilliant but Hatfield is absolutely rubbish: starting from the cafe, whose staff make you wish you never ordered (food never comes and when it does, it's tasteless) the facilities are nice but not well maintained: bathrooms often dirty, half of the gym equipment is "out of order" always, the "SPA" is a sad wet corridor with a little hot pond and people always shouting, no tablets/gaming area like ALL other DLs around the country...I could go on for ages. Honestly I wish they closed it down and opened another one that is worth all the money it costs.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place, just joined up with the family. Nice food, very clean and lots of activities to do, for the family or even just for the adults. We received a warm welcoming from the lovely and extremely professional Sarah, who really look after us.

Negative experience: For almost 2+ years there's an issue with the football pitch fence which they haven’t fixed although when signing up they told me it was a priority to fix it. Pitch is there but they don’t let you use it due to health and safety hazard.

Negative experience: I was orginally excited to re-join david lloyds as a past member a few years ago. Unfortunaly from the moment I signed up and paid a hefty joining fee it has been nothing but trouble and misinformation, unauthorised payments coming out of my account and having to chase the sales team every week since joining in October for refunds that where not processed. I also recieved my joining email 1 month into my membership with incorrect information and additional charges. For such a large company with a high price the standard of treatment and management is abysmal. The whole experience has been disappointing and is not reliable. I have not recieved a positive and professional environment from the moment i signed up. This is not the high-end service or experience I would have expected from such a 'prestigious' club.

Positive experience: Tried to bring my son here swimming this afternoon. Due to a 'system update' I was unable to pay as I have done for past 3 years the £6 fee for this and only option was to use one of my £40 guest passes. Yes I am a member of Bushey, but as my membership confirms, I am unable to bring him to Hatfield for the same fee. Luckily my mum is a member at Hatfield so she came and signed him in for the £6. Complete liberty considering Hatfield is a way below par compared to Bushey. Shame as normally would never write a review.

Fantastic experience: We recently joined David Lloyd courtesy of our amazing tour guide Dom! Not that we needed much convincing as the facilities and classes really speak for themselves but Dom was super helpful and friendly with any questions we did have. Definitely worth investing in!!

Negative experience: The Club is vile and disgusting. The whole thing is a scam. We cancelled our membership in the cooling period because an aggressive man was in the changing room smashing it up and shouting at other guests. The pool is freezing cold and the cancel run leisure centre is actually a better environment. I still have not received my refund for my cancellation, have been SCAMMED by this club for 100s of pounds! They did not log my cancellation and if I did not provide the paper trail that I had they tried to ignore my e mails and keep my membership locked in for a further 3 months. Total SCAM and shambles. DO NOT JOIN!

Fantastic experience: I love this club as all the instructors are lovely and have met so many new friends, only downside is kids run riot, not enough variety of fitness classes in the evenings and school holidays they cut evening classes, roofs leak in the winter on the courts but staff are great.

Negative experience: Very disappointed as was unable to use pool it was cold my daughter used her guest pass for me it was a complete waste as I have a disability the pool is the only area I can use We had lunch and it was tasty

Fantastic experience: We visited David Lloyd Hatfield as part of Wellness Weekend. We met Chris who showed us round the club, explaining all the great facilities and classes for our family. We really appreciated how he quickly took us to crèche at the start of our tour so we could see it in full swing and meet the lovely staff there. The club facilities are fantastic and they’ve really thought about everything, e.g. crèche hours vs classes that run during it for parents. Chris answered all of our many questions and promptly followed up via email later that day with additional information. He really did such a great job at showing how we could use the facilities on a regular basis and due to this we decided to sign up! Thank you Chris.

Negative experience: As a loyal customer of Third Space for years, I was recently convinced by my daughter to visit our local David Lloyds in St Albans to explore joining their gym. Unfortunately, our experience on arrival at 8:20 AM left much to be desired and starkly contrasted with the high standards we've come to expect. From the moment we stepped in, we were met with an unwelcoming and unfriendly receptionist. Rather than offering assistance or a warm greeting, we were brusquely directed to fill out an appointment form online and essentially sent home. The manner in which this was conveyed was highly unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome. I had been told by friends that David Lloyds is a pleasant and accommodating place, but our experience strongly contradicted this reputation. The level of service and professionalism displayed was far below what we are accustomed to at Third Space Gymbox in London, where customer service is always top-notch and the staff are consistently courteous and helpful. Overall, this disappointing encounter has left me questioning the reliability of David Lloyds St Albans and its ability to provide a positive and professional environment for its members. It is clear that significant improvements in customer service are needed if they are to live up to the expectations set by other high-quality gyms.

Negative experience: If there was a 0. There customer service esp recently regarding membership renewals has been awful. They should really treat their existing customers better than the constant click bait ads for new customers. If it wasn’t for my child who prefers swimming there I wouldn’t even bother with them at this stage, with non responsive management and broken promises over contact and support.

Fantastic experience: I joined the club yesterday after having a really good welcoming experience. For a number of reasons I wanted to join a gym and approached 2 in my immediate area, one being David Lloyd Hatfield. I booked a tour online and had a call from the club to discuss my objectives beforehand. I then met with Chris Anderson who took the time to discuss what I wanted to achieve, what was important to me, what my limitations were and then gave me a tour of the club. I felt that he really took the time to understand me and didn't just fob me off with generic information. I joined up at the end of the tour and am looking forward to my first session with a PT today. Thanks Chris, you made my decision very easy!

Positive experience: Great customer service especially on reception. I do find that the weight plates and dumbbells are always in a random order, so i have to go hunting during a workout it can also be a little on the cold side especially when using the bench presses.

Negative experience: I have been so disappointed by the appalling customer service I have received from the management at David Lloyd Hatfield. I was wrongfully charged for some PT sessions and have been chasing for nearly a month to have these reimbursed. Nobody replies to my emails and I feel like I am spending far too much of my time going round in circles trying to get a resolution. There seems to be an attitude of it’s not my area so not my problem. They are more than happy to take your money but if you want to cancel something then they make it very difficult. The gym itself is fine and we have had good experiences with the swimming lessons for our children it’s just a shame that this bad customer service has really tainted my overall experience and perception of the gym.

Negative experience: My experience with David Lloyd's Hatfield location has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Initially, I was optimistic about joining their gym, but that quickly changed due to severe billing issues and the lackluster response from their customer service team. The core of the problem began when I noticed my card was double charged for services. Expecting a straightforward resolution, I visited the Hatfield gym to discuss the issue with a staff member. Instead of resolving the issue on the spot, I was directed to their customer service landline. After ten attempts and an unnecessary runaround, I finally managed to speak with someone. They requested I provide my bank statement to prove the double charge and fill out a form for a refund. This process felt redundant and inefficient, especially since it seemed like the form wasn't even being utilized properly. Following this, I received an email from the site manager instructing me to visit the gym again, assuring me everything would be resolved on-site. However, this visit proved to be just as fruitless as my initial attempt. Despite assurances, no action was taken to address my issue. Another manager took my details but, like before, nothing was done. This entire ordeal has been incredibly frustrating. I had considered rejoining the gym, but after this experience, I have no intention of doing so. It's disheartening to see such poor handling of a simple billing issue and even worse customer service. For a business that thrives on membership and customer satisfaction, David Lloyd Hatfield has shown a glaring disregard for both. I strongly advise potential members to think twice before joining, as the headache of resolving any issues that might arise is not worth it.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited this gym on a guest pass that was provided by another member, and felt the need to leave a review based on my very positive experience. A great club, with high quality equipment and plenty of space to train. Sanitation stations provided to ensure that the equipment is kept hygienic after use for the next person. I visited here during the day, and I was able to use all the equipment I needed to without having to wait. There were gym floor staff present and visible should you need their assistance. I also used the pool and spa too. The pool wasn’t busy, and I was able to get a decent swim after my workout. There is also an outdoor pool, but this was closed as it’s only open during the summer months. The pool and spa are very clean, well maintained and provide a relaxing setting to unwind. Again, the spa wasn’t very busy and I was able to use the sauna / steam room without any over crowding issues. I never used the cafe facilities during my visit. But it seemed to be very welcoming, with a good cafe style drinks / food menu on offer. The customer service I received upon my arrival was exceptional. I was greeted by a very upbeat front desk host, who quickly got me registered and provided me with all the information I needed to get straight in to my workout. Upon leaving the club, I was also thanked for attending, and bid farewell by the same reception desk host. It’s been a while since I have visited a gym that is user focussed, as I normally use a 24hr budget gym that has no customer service, missing / stolen / damaged equipment, and constantly very busy. I’ll now be reviewing my current gym membership off the back of todays positive visit.

Negative experience: After missing a payment, the account got transferred to ARC. I spoke to David Lloyd payments team twice to tell them my circumstances and payment would be made. I made the payments and the hassle of re-installing my membership is so much hassle. The manager KAT in payments team was useless and the information is poor. I have made over 15 calls to get my membership installed. Even at club level, they cannot help due to company policy however LISA FROM GIDEA PARK has been amazing! If you are thinking of joining DL, don’t bother. It’s so much hassle if you ever miss a payment and it’s a shame as the local team are lovely. HEAD OFFICE: teach your team some customer service skills.
Fantastic experience: Joined last August and could never look back. The Gym is always clean and tidy. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Jasmin, Maisie & Joe always so polite and always making everyone feel so welcome. Not a bad word to say about David Lloyd’s Hatfield!

Fantastic experience: Had a great session with Colin yesterday and must say he massively improved my forehand, he’s great at picking out my faults and giving me constructive criticism to help improve my game On the spot. Great chap and great coach!

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing lesson with Colin Davis from David Lloyd’s Hatfield. I had been struggling with my serves and my backhands. But in one lesson we were able to sort it all out. Now I feel like both techniques are now solid and can play with more confidence. Thank you Colin for making it fun and practical! Will 100% book for another session!

Fantastic experience: After recently visiting David Lloyd in Hatfield I felt the need to leave a review. I’ve been extremely impressed with all staff members at the club from start to finish, their customer service is second to none. The team make you feel welcome the second you walk through the door. The premises itself is kept in fantastic order, making every visit a pleasant experience. The club also provides a fantastic range of classes - which my last gym lacked. I now only need to come to one place which is just what I need. I can’t recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: First time using this gym after putting it off for many years and I was pleasantly surprised! The facilities are of a very high standard and if like me you haven’t been near a gym in a while you will find it very accessible and the staff are always on hand to give advise. I actually look forward to going to the gym now instead of making excuses not to go, I couldn’t recommend it more!!!

Fantastic experience: I was thinking of joining, primarily for gym access, was greeted at the reception by a lovely woman called Maisie who answered all the questions I had about the centre but decided all the extra amenities weren't something I was looking for. Highly recommend a visit if you're curious about joining as staff were super helpful!

Fantastic experience: Regularly use the club and always have a great experience. My children love the activities provided, and in particular the ladies working in the crèche are fantastic. Kelly is great and all of the staff there make my children feel so at home.

Negative experience: I’m reviewing David Lloyd as it’s been a very negative experience for me and several other members! Not all of the staff but a selection and a few very are very rude, kitchen staff servers and receptionists. We all pay a lot of money for good service, but most equipment in the gym are broken and never get fixed after we have mentioned it to staff members. Also in the ladies toilets the toilet flushes while you’re seated! This is bacteria and germs and they never fixed it! It’s sick! Especially in Hatfield David Lloyd, the manager favours certain genders and ignores requests from women, also one staff member Omar, verbally abused me and I am very shocked how I’ve been treated! I will not tolerate verbal abuse. I have contacted Matt regarding this and he has said he will forward to Jodie his manager at Hatfield so I am waiting on there reply. Fantastic experience: I have been using the crèche for almost 10 years now with both my children. My daughter, now 3, attends 2-3 times a week and it means, as a full time Mum, I can exercise knowing Olive is happy and enjoying herself too. Kelly, Becca and Anna are amazing, they’re all very patient and caring towards the children. There is always music playing and the play stations alternate daily. I couldn’t be without the crèche and would recommend to all!

Fantastic experience: I went in on Wednesday morning and was served by a lovely lady called Hannah.Later to be accompanied by the chef working in the kitchen a lady named Sarah, served me a this delicious meal, pouched eggs with avocado on toast.

Fantastic experience: Hi I came in with my son on a quest pass ;on Saturday and we had some breakfast .I was very impressed (as I'm a fussy man on my porridge) but I can honestly the service was a 5 star from the chef very fast to come out and on a warm bowl and the lady was very friendly ;I did ask for her name (Sarah)

Fantastic experience: The crèche staff are amazing. Kelly, Anna and Becca are always warm, welcoming and so good with the children. I would definitely recommend using the crèche facilities.

Negative experience: Eh it’s a normal standard gym who think they are wayyy above the cut. Average and slightly above the normal facilities you would find in any other gym spa and pool. Not worth the price tag and it’s closed too soon in the day.
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience in the lounge area as a staff member called Grace talked me through different food options I could have and made me a delicious iced coffee. Although the bar was very busy she made sure to be attentive whilst providing stellar service to others!

Fantastic experience: Can't be happier with the crèche staff at DL Hatfield , Kelly, Becca and Debby are the most amazing My little one loves them dearly and even my middle one too as he gets to have Becca in the Kids club too.They are just making them feel comfortable and work around their needs..lol..more like toddler terrible 2's fussy,cranky attitude and 6y old stubbornness Baby shark music and run away doodoo doodoo and Super Mario drawings in arts and crafts.Thank you so much ladies !

Positive experience: beautiful area with a large gym and spa area. The quiet room faces out to the cafe (like all David Lloyds) but is only separated with a wall of glass which can make working a bit distracting. The tennis courts are stunning and staff are very friendly.

Fantastic experience: DL crèche Hatfield is outstanding. Their facilities are excellent with the leaders always making sure there are enough engaging activities for the children to get involved in. Kelly does a fantastic job at making me feel at ease during drop off and, at pick up, always updates me on how my son got on. I couldn’t ask for a better person to be looking after him during these sessions and he absolutely loves it!

Positive experience: We were all members some years back and cancelled our membership for various reasons and wanted to re join but it's really not worth the money anymore. It needs to be ripped out and re done for the price they are asking for monthly. Carpets are grubby in the eating area. Needs a good clean. Gym area needs re doing £174 for the diamond membership allows you to use other gyms and everything at the Hatfield gym. £174??? Sorry.... but they need to re do Hatfield. Not worth it
