Negative experience: Visited this gym on holiday, and can I just say, the smell when I came in was awful. The equipment you can tell was not looked after and there was dirt and rust on almost every machine. No gym music made the atmosphere feel dry and if anyone is thinking about powerlifting in this gym run as far away as possible, could barely find enough plates for my deadlift topset lol. All in all this is hands down the worst gym I’ve been too mainly because I feel like I’m in a dark and gloomy maze and the equipment is terrible (got lost a couple times lol) After buying my week pass and spending 30 mins in this gym I can assure you I’m not coming back, you can take my money,

Fantastic experience: Bought a week's pass while on holiday, great value at just £15 - easy to tap in and out with an app, and no need for an induction which is appreciated as not really needed when you're a reg at the gym. There's a decent selection of equipment, plenty of fans, and a few classes too.

Fantastic experience: I like so much, the Active Fitness Club. Very friendly and kind staff. I'm glad I can use the gym. I am happy for that. I recommend it to everyone because it has everything you need for training. Thank you. ❤️

Fantastic experience: I only called I didn't visit but I'd rang too early and forgot to call back but I'm going to call them as I want to find out if they still do over 50 swimming

Negative experience: Bought a day pass as was visiting the area and wanted to get some cardio in. Very disappointed with the upstairs bikes and treadmills. There were six treadmills total, two had error 41 and didn't work (see pic), one was turned off, and one the remaining ones didn't have functioning buttons. There were only two non spin bikes, and the foot strap for the one that was available was broken. All the cardio equipment appeared quite old and had awful touchscreen software, meaning it is very difficult to change speeds for intervals etc. I can't comment on any of the other equipment since I didn't use it, so perhaps that is of much better quality. Overall I'd recommend other gyms in the area which are a similar price but which much better equipment.

Negative experience: I join on this gym around one month ago end all what i can say, is staff is very unrespectful Most of the time no one is in reception , Very un happy with the management Of the stuff

Positive experience: Was a fantastic gym, like the equipment in different rooms but can hear classes and sounds like they are going to fall from above and the weights are all over the place and no weight trees anywhere.

Fantastic experience: I was a temporary member for a week while on holiday in Weymouth. I found this a really good gym: - Well equipped. Downstairs are the traditional weight rooms with free weights and machines. Upstairs are studios for classes, the usual banks of cardio devices, an AstroTurf space with battle ropes, squat racks, kettle bells, boxes etc and a HIIT zone with Ski ergs, rowers, "assault" type bikes and curved treadmills. Plenty of space for all types of training - Easy parking. Right outside and a good number of spaces - Friendly team. Very welcoming and positive - Great value. £15 for a week was well worth it.

Positive experience: Equipment is good. Staff is nice. Working hours cosi cosi. 3 stars because: -Changing rooms don’t have heating and there is cold. Especially during cold season. -Cold water in sinks. You have to wait for the hot water to be supplied for a couple of minutes. And showers have sort of warm water, not HOT water as they say. And weekend mornings don't have warm water.

Positive experience: This gym is fine, it has several squat racks/power racks and good number of barbells and a large variety of plate loaded machines. However, management need to do a much better job of enforcing proper gym etiquette. The majority of people do not unload barbells and put equipment away once they have finished using them. Management also seem very slow to fix broken equipment, both sets of cable machines currently have one of the cables broken, so there is nowhere to do cable flies.

Fantastic experience: My 14 Yr old son asked me in January for a gym membership, I was a bit reluctant but gave in. This is the best money I spend every month. He spends over 3 hours a day 6 days a week in there. He loves the place and says the people are all so nice. I can't believe how far he has come at his age in body building. Well done active fitness. Keeping teenagers off the streets

Positive experience: I personally thought it's a nice gym and the staff was friendly and the prices seemed fair. I would say I personally don't like the layout and kinda felt it was a bit jumbled, but I still thought it was nice to go to. On a plus side you get free parking so it makes life a bit easier if you don't live close by.

Negative experience: The opening times are abysmal and they charge you money to leave..? The equipment is old too, e.g. the cover on the curl rack is just as ripped as the curl rack etc. HIDDEN FEES EVERYWHERE.

Fantastic experience: What can I say, it's an excellent gym. Well run and with friendly staff, well equipped having 3 rooms on one flaw and another two upstairs each with a different focus. It is also incidentally one of the cheapest in weymouth (at the basic members rate) with upgrades available for classes and personal programs so you don't have to pay on the door for your guided exorcise classes. Parking is available in front of the building in an off road car park and pre/poast workout drinks are also available at the front counter.

Negative experience: Was excited to start a new class. I wanted to join in the boogy bounce. Unfortunately I didn't know where the venue was and I went to the wrong place. I ended up being 3 mins late and was refused entry, considering I had travelled 3/4 hour to get there I was extremely upset. Needless to say I won't be going back to that place. Will wait until another venue opens with that class

Negative experience: Facilities are great , equipment is outstanding , price is ideal . However on weekends I can never go because I work from early to late and it shuts at 4. One staff member over the counter is continuously rude and the parking system is ridiculous! If someone really wanted to park "near to town" or anything else I'm sure they would use Asdas huge car park across the road for free. The car parking is just another way for them to make money.
