Positive experience: It's great for fitness as long as you know what you are doing. They have some great equipment and access 24 7 really helps But if you simply want a guide on what to do on your days visit this is not provided without an extra cost, unlike Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre

Fantastic experience: Been going to Anytime Fitness for over a year now, one of the best things I have ever done! The gym is well equipped and never had to wait to get onto any of the machines. I have regular small group lessons and all the coaching team and incredible, Ash, Phil and Robin are friendly, very Knowledgeable and approachable. I see them as friends more than coaches. The gym and staff have helped me so much in my journey and I would recommend Anytime fitness Hornchurch to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym!! Switched from pure gym to ATF and it’s the greatest decision I ever made! The facilities are so clean and everything in the gym is set out nicely and it’s also well equipped. I take part in the small group sessions and have met the loveliest people ever. Big fat shoutout to Ash because without her support I wouldn’t be where I am today (and the rest of the staff to be fair). Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never felt more comfortable in a gym than I have at Anytime Fitness Hornchurch. The staff are incredibly sweet and helpful. I’ve had the pleasure of training with Coach Ashanta who is such a talented trainer and the most caring person. Her unique style of training and incorporating her skills in boxing has really helped me push myself further each session I had with her. She never lets me give up on myself and continuously helps me build on my resilience and consistency to reach my goals. She’s the best trainer I’ve ever had. With her help, my lifestyle has changed for the better and boosted my self esteem. I couldn’t be more grateful to have trained with such a strong, caring and dedicated Coach. I would highly recommend training with her!!!

The selection of equipment is impressive, with everything from cardio machines to a variety of free weights and resistance machines. Negative experience: Awful customer service and whimsical responses when in contact regarding incorrectly applied membership fees. ATF Hornchurch and M&S Fitness Ltd. will try to imply a penalty clause on any member trying to cancel their membership in accordance with the Direct Debit guarantee, a wholly unlawful practice, and then ignore any attempts to chase them on the matter. // Edit in response to the business below (29/07/24): 'For those who may be interested; ATF Hornchurch apply fees and recurring arrears charges after cancellation of your membership in accordance with the Direct Debit Guarantee. This is in spite of your minimum membership term having lapsed and continuing on a monthly rolling basis. They are unable to provide justification for applying any charges after cancelling your membership, having not accessed the facilities. The fees and arrears are greater than any effective loss resulting from non payment (ie one month’s membership fees in lieu of notice) and as such constitutes an effective penalty clause, an unlawful practice. Furthermore they will threaten you with escalation to collections clearly stating this could affect your credit rating. Legal precedent determines that threatening to report members as defaults to credit reference agencies in order to secure payment contravenes the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 as set out in OFT v Ashbourne Management Services Ltd and others [2011] EWHC 1237. Throughout any subsequent communications ATF Hornchurch are deliberately slow in replying to any emails, giving no confidence in the fact that they will act in good faith and refrain from escalating the matter further during this time. An appropriate course of action would be to report the operating company M&S Fitness (Reg No. 09042644) to the financial ombudsman as well as the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for enforcement of protections under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (CCR). Fantastic experience: Excellent gym that is run by a fantastic team!

Positive experience: As I draw near the end of my 6 weeks training sessions I want to share my experience. I have been struggling with my weight, energy and self confidence for a few years and decided to sign up for the 50+ training program. To my delight, although it sometimes takes an extra push to get there, I have extremely enjoyed it. I go in tired and leave energised. Our trainer, Ashanta has been extremely patient and supportive, adjusting exercises to suit individual needs and encouraging us to push ourselves further to reach our goals. We are given proper instructions to ensure our safety before each exercise, regardless if we’ve done it before. Thanks to being trained with the use of weights and resistance bands, I now have options of training at home on the days I can not make it to the gym. Additionally, Phil and Marie are there to support my dietary choices and help with meals. Although my progress is slow, I must say that the results are visible. I am losing fat and gaining muscle, which is exactly what I am aiming for.

Fantastic experience: Great equipment , great staff I have started the 6 week fitness challenge with anytime fitness Hornchurch and I am in my 4th week now It has helped a lot with my goals of fixing my nutrition throughout the day , supplying ideas for meals to have aswell as useful feedback with how to improve what I have eaten I am feeling fitter already , and getting into the routine has helped with ensuring I stick to this in the future

Fantastic experience: I’m almost 72 and was starting to feel old, tired and less mobile so decided to give the 6 week course to give me a boost to try and get more fit and healthy. 2 weeks in I’m enjoying it and eating better after the nutritional advice. Ok I still ache first thing but am surprising myself just how much I can do. Trainers Ashanta and Phil are very encouraging and good at pushing me to get the most out of the small group sessions and Phil is always happy to answer my many questions. I very much look forward to getting an update on my progress in 4 weeks and continuing my better health journey

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym started in March to get back into fitness again. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and I love Ashanta’s energy and she always pushes me. Love doing the boxing and will definitely miss her when I leave at the end of the month

Negative experience: I can't believe how rude the staff are here, especially management. I tried ringing during my membership to raise concern over the changing / bathrooms lack of cleanliness and was told I hadn't attended enough to complain! Used to be a great place to go after work, there was a couple of lovely blonde ladies who really made the gym what it was. I've not seen them in a while and have since left the gym. The atmosphere has totally changed for the worse, avoid at all costs!! You can see a reflection of the management with their replies to negative reviews on Google. Speaks volumes!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE this place! It's a hidden gem! Extremely clean changing rooms, hot showers, all the fitness equipment I need and friendly welcoming instructors! I cannot fault anything! I originally signed up to do the 12 week group (in person) fitness classes as i got fed up and demotivated with previous virtual workouts i had done elsewhere. I thoroughly enjoyed my group fitness classes - such great energy! Massive shout out to Marie, Ashanta and Phil for their expertise, patience and approachable nature. They helped me build confidence, form and technique with strength training!! It really was an easy decision to sign up to be a member and keep going with my fitness. The Anytime Fitness app has TONS of different workout programmes and excellent in-person classes. Really enjoying a new found passion for the boxing class - thank you Richard! Fantastic experience: Shortly after my retirement I responded to an appeal on Facebook by Anytime Fitness Hornchurch for 60+ year olds seeking to (re)gain fitness, lose weight and general feel better about themselves, and can happily say I’ve achieved all three. Attending three small group (usually 3-5 people) sessions a week has been really enjoyable. The instructors are all brilliant and I’ve made good friends too. I’ve felt intimidated in gyms in the past but this has been different. The friendly and supportive staff guide us through the correct use of equipment and vary the exercises so that we gain all round fitness. I’d recommend the gym and classes to anyone.

The gym is as immaculate as ever and the staff are as always friendly and engaging. Fantastic experience: It's a great place, I've been going since January and have lost weight and gained some muscle. There is loads of equipment to use, I go early in the morning when it's only the foxes that are out and about and I'm one of the few in the gym so I don't have to wait to use something I want. The price of the membership is great as well, I know people who use other gyms that charge more and aren't open 24/7, Anytime Fitness is the best value for money.

Fantastic experience: Joined this gym couple weeks ago after 18 mos of no exercise due to illness. This gym is perfect has everything you would expect and clean and friendly. Have been at all times early, really late and peak. Peak obviously busy but still got to do what needed. Might be bit more expensive than some but well worth it and feel very comfortable there even with my football of a belly.

Fantastic experience: Really nice little gym. The shower facilities are basic but lovely. The gym equipment is all great and the staff are friendly. It seems like they genuinely make an effort here. A selling point is definitely how small and intimate it feels. I can imagine this place would quickly become a nightmare if they started accepting too many members. The only downsides are that due to the small size, different areas are separated by staircases etc. Also, the £36 ‘fob’ signing up fee is quite annoying. Otherwise, great place to come and train.

Fantastic experience: I joined a six week challenge course and must say that even though it was hard work and sometimes my motivation lacked I was helped along the way by the fantastic staff at the gym. I must say that I'm 72 next week and never had the slightest interest in physical exercise thoughout my life but surprisingly after my course I've joined up for another year even though I still have to push myself to go, but after a training session I feel tired and happy that I have done it. So on reflection I'm very happy I took up the challenge and I find the encouragement I get from the staff brilliant.

Fantastic experience: Joined anytime fitness in September 2023 and started with the 6 week challenge involving small group sessions and personalised coaching on diet planning. Phil has been a brilliant coach throughout, keeping in regular contact, motivating and challenging me to level up at a pace that suits me. Enjoying the experience so much that I'm now extending. Fantastic experience: After being with David Lloyd's for many years I started to go to Any Time fitness in Hornchurch. This gym didn't disappoint, every machine you could think off and the members of staff at the gym and very helpful and friendly. Big shout out to Sam!

Negative experience: I've been an AF member for years and was fined £140 for making use of the gym car park, despite the fact I entered my car reg number on the gym's system that day. I was sent a threatening letter and had no option to appeal it. Be aware. Edit in response to owner: I disagree. I would argue it's your responsibility to guarantee customers are not going to be fined after they have done their due diligence and entered their car reg number on your system. I did what was required of me, it's you guys who screwed up and I had to face the consequences for it. Instead of wasting your energy getting angry at online feedback, the wise thing to do would be to take steps to ensure this doesn't happen again to others.

Negative experience: The gym is rubbish, the music is always so loud. Its always full. I tried cancelling my subscription and they told me to send an email and they’ve still taken this months money. Don’t sign up to this gym they’re desperate for your money. Ive called them countless times, noone ever answers the phone. Pathetic.

Fantastic experience: Phil is great...no seriously he is!! Great place to go...so clean especially the toilets and showers. Doing the 60 day challenge and it's great...not too strenuous for an old dear and Phil ( who is great) gives you ood encouragement. Well worth the money.

Positive experience: At 66 I didn't want to be sat on the sofa after retirement and I blood test said I was pre diabetes, so getting fit was my gift to myself. The coaches are encouraging, professional, kind and fun. They help me with make better nutritional choices and any conditions are taken into account. It is hard work but if you have the determination to change then give it a try!

Positive experience: I took part in the 6 week summer slim down. It really pushed me to actually go to the gym. The instructors were all confident in what they do and made you feel welcome.

Fantastic experience: Anytime fitness Hornchurch, Very welcoming place, as a newbie to the fitness world, Marie , part of the team put me at ease from the first session, Phil and Adam also part of the team, put me through my paces, pushing me to do more every time. The environment is very clean and welcoming and a range of different age groups, in the sessions, using various different equipment to aid us to a better performance.

Positive experience: Confession; I'm not a gym fan. However I'm pragmatic and realised a structured environment, support to and from peers - pushing each other was what I needed. Staff training, advice and peers has been great. I'm on my way!

Negative experience: I am sure all the 5 star reviews are written by there incompetent staff. The gym was closed for 2 days due to bailiffs taking possesion. No refund offered. The staff are rude and arrogant and the manager has no place in a gym or in dealing with members of the public. Please avoid at all cost

Fantastic experience: My friends have been going for nearly a year and finally persuaded me to get into a gym. I am happy I chose this club as there is soo much equipment. I always thought it would be small when walking passed but it’s very big and has some equipment I’ve not seen before. I’m already looking forward to my next workout! I travel a lot for work so was sold on being able to use other clubs too after 1-month.

Negative experience: Don’t go anywhere near this place, first they make you sign at least 1 year contract and if you want to cancel your membership after the contract period,they still want you to give them 1 month notice and basically just keep charging you and if you don’t pay, they try and bully you.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to quite few gyms here in London and I can say this one is my favourite so far. Always clean, weights are always in place so you don’t need to run around to look for it, never crowded! And especially you get to use the spare room for classes which is always empty in the evenings! 10/10

Fantastic experience: The gym is very conveniently placed on the high road and has an excellent array of machines, weights and other goodies such as a body fat analyser machine. The atmosphere in the gym is calm and inviting and I have no hesitation in recommending Anytime fitness Hornchurch to anyone.

Gym is always immaculate (womens changing rooms are amazing, shower facilities, ghd straighteners/hairdryers, hygiene products and large lockers.) Gym itself has great variety of machinery and classes on 3 levels so even if it is busy it never feels overcrowded, Price is very good too given size of gym / classes included it’s a good deal! Love the fact that it is 24hrs access via members only fob as there is never any reason not to be able to do a workout. Location is brilliant too, walking distance from my home, quick work out and can do some shopping after all on my doorstep. Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: After going to other gyms in the past, this is by far the best one. It’s open 24 hours, so I am able to go a time that suits me, it’s not packed and your always able to use the machines Staff are very friendly and helpful and it’s always clean. Definitely recommend.
