However, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive, with many people expressing a desire to return and explore this hidden gem again.
Kersey Mill: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Had a MAGICAL time seeing Santa and his helpers today. Thank you to everyone at Kersey Mill for making this visit so very special for 2 little girls and 3 girls who have seen a lot more Christmas’s. We will definitely be booking next year. Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and good food at The Miller Cafe. Nice cakes and brownies.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful location, nice to relax with a coffee with lots of local shops and amenities
Fantastic experience: cute place with a selection of business clearly and cleverly focussed around weddings and similar occasions. My favourites are the deli and the cafe.
Fantastic experience: Lovely spot to stop for food and drink.
Fantastic experience: Went to the restaurant at Kersey Mill for lunch on Saturday. We both had a sandwich which, whilst a little bit pricey, were very well filled and tasty with the obligatory small side salad, a pot of coleslaw, and some crisps on the side. Nice to have a walk around the various shops afterwards.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place to visit. Well worth a stop
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place
Negative experience: Bafflingly expensive cafe all things considered. Asked owner/chef why so and was told because of dishes being ‘plated up’ Go figure.
Thank you for taking the time to review. As with most establishments of a similar nature we have to include VAT add to that the costs of staffing, utilities rents and products etc we feel that we offer a very attractive visitor experience at a very competitive price to similar outlets but within a superior setting.
Negative experience: I waited ages for coffee only one person in cafe , 2 teenagers serving ,very polite although she forgot to bring the sugar out ,and my coffee was cold by then ,I paid £7. 00 something when I left the waitress was sitting on the table outside on her phone.
Fantastic experience: Went and saw all the old cars
Fantastic experience: Great cafe with very helpful friendly staff. Excellent food and drinks, a nice place to stop off for a snack or meet friends :)
Fantastic experience: Haircut at ea barbers.. Joel is outstanding
Positive experience: Only had an espresso but nice setting and friendly service
Positive experience: I have been driving past this mill for some years and have not had the time to explore this place! Recently, l stopped here and explored the shopping village and the beautiful mill. I had a nice cream tea at the cafe in the village and would highly recommend a trip here.
Positive experience: Lacks atmosphere and expensive for what it is.
Positive experience: Looks wonderful, promises lots, delivers little in the way of shopping. Great if you want pilates, hairdressers and nails done, just not what I'd expected. Not that I got my nails done...
Positive experience: Lovely venue
Fantastic experience: Nice place it visit
Fantastic experience: Beautiful restored mill and to my suprise free entry
Positive experience: Cafe a little grubby for the money.
Fantastic experience: Spotted as driving past to visit relatives, turned around and came back, glad I did, lovely quaint place, well maintained grounds, lovely shops and cafe, a little treasure
Negative experience: Extortionate prices. Different planet. Mediocre food quality. Left with a bitter taste. Shame, nice place though.
Fantastic experience: If you don't see this water wheel you're missing out. It's a beautiful mill in gorgeous grounds with a beautiful resident cat. We loved it there.
Fantastic experience: Went for a car show, but also enjoyed looking round the mill itself and listening to a gentleman explaining the milling process
Positive experience: For National drive it day, great food establishments in a packed out show so perfect..place to be.
Positive experience: Nice venue, well organised, burger van over priced.
Positive experience: Nice friendly staff. They were very kind and offered the use of stair lift to one of us whose disabled.
Negative experience: Massively overpriced food, my wife and I used to love visiting this little gem however went in March 2024 and their prices have rocketed beyond acceptable..I would never pay nearly £13.00 for a sandwich, £10.00 for a bowl of soup or £12.00 for a panini...shocking so we wont be returning, the small garden center and farm shop just up the road is half the price
Positive experience: Lovely place with lots of nice businesses. Cute tea rooms lovely chef, nice boutique shops, lovely charity shop, lovely nursery and florest. The carpark is full of pot holes that then turn into puddles so that is a shame.
Positive experience: Visited The Venue at Kersey Mill for a birthday party and had a brilliant time. I would have given it a five star but there was no hot drinks available on the evening.
Fantastic experience: Had breakfast at the little café- lovely and quaint and food good
Fantastic experience: Very nice cafe and coffee shop. Lovely charity shop on site too
Fantastic experience: First visit and will return. Cute place with little businesses too to see. Worth a visit
Fantastic experience: Lovely venue, looked very Christmas like from the outside.
Positive experience: Wife went years ago with the kids and was a lot more interactive. Not particularly good value for money. 2 year old thought it was good.
Fantastic experience: Nice little community of businesses, the dance shop for lovers of ballroom and Latin dancing is well worth a visit. Good selection of shoes plus she is gappy to order in. Plus fir info the owner is getting into prom dresses..
Positive experience: Went in November, not much of it was open, Mill itself and most of the shops were shut and the coffee shop was lovely but very expensive, almost £10 for a sandwich.
Fantastic experience: I visit the gym there, it's a very well equipped space with attentive trainers. Afterwards I occasionally pop into the Millers kitchen for a naughty bacon sarny, lovely staff and of course the bacon is always yum!!
Fantastic experience: Lovely old mill on beautiful setting.
Negative experience: Took 45 minutes to serve Coffee and cake. Not going again.
Fantastic experience: Had a lovely afternoon tea in a great setting, nice staff in the cafe looking at menu on the day in question they seemed to cater for all dietary requirements, fads and idiosyncrasies
Fantastic experience: Mint Choc Milkshake - made with Mint Choc Ice Cream - tasty
Positive experience: Kersey Mill is a interesting little spot just outside of Hadleigh that has developed and changed since I grew up in the area as a kid. The Mill itself is an old water-driven flour mill dating from the late 1800s set in large landscaped gardens. The working parts of the mill (which have recently been restored) and the grounds are FREE to enter and walk around. The mill itself is quite interesting, and you could easily pass a leisurely 30 minutes or an hour walking around the gardens, walking by the river, or having a swing on a couple of tree-swings that are there. Behind the mill there is a development of shops, a fitness studio, and The Venue (a popular place for local weddings). The shops include a number of craft shops, a charity shop, a baby shop, and a cafe. There are also some health and fitness studios. The shopping area was not busy when I was there mid-week, and had plenty of parking. it has a laid-back ambience, was quite pleasant to stroll around. I would certainly recommend a stop here, well worth a visit. Hit the thumbs up if this was helpful
Positive experience: Not as good as I thought it would be but the two black kittens were adorable
Fantastic experience: Very nice and peaceful atmosphere
Fantastic experience: Once again craft shop was excellent, found some little presents so reasonably priced. Lady was there with 2 youngsters, going to do some craft.......wonderful facilities.
Positive experience: Gr8 for weddings shame about stairs though
Fantastic experience: We had lovely food and a coffee, and the little shops are gorgeous!
Fantastic experience: Lovely place. Great accupuncturist ben hymas
Negative experience: Confused about what this was meant to be. Shopping centre, tourism, wedding venue or something else. Not sure if trespassing or where you are allowed to be.
Negative experience: Slightly disappointed as times online didn't match some stores. Took a drive out for nothing
Fantastic experience: Multiple vegan options, very dog friendly, young and very professional staff, great all round!
Positive experience: Excellent charity shop where the ladies who run it make alot of effort .Not really much there
Positive experience: The mill has a small variety of retail outlets and a nice cafe. Sometimes the parking can be a pain, especially when they have a wedding function going on. However, give the location a try, but it is best to do so when the weather is good.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful, freshly cooked breakfast. Not to be missed if you're in the area.
Fantastic experience: Had a really good English breakfast here and as a bonus they host a mini car 'show' occasionally. It's also in a lovely countryside setting.
Fantastic experience: Great picturesque , place to stop for a nice English breakfast and occasionally they host small car meets ..very nice.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful venue the working mill is something to behold!
Negative experience: Popped in to the cafe planning to get lunch but after seeing £11+ for a toasted sandwich or £9.80 for a sausage roll we decided against it.
Positive experience: Pleasant place for food and coffee
Fantastic experience: Great place to visit, especially when there is a classic car show taking place! Cafe is very good with reasonable prices. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant morning breakfast with my local car clubs namely, "Frinton Gaskets", - "Suffolk Sports & Supercar Club", Booked a few tables for a delicious breakfast served by a very hardworking competent staff Thanks Kersey Mil & team. The place looked fantastic
Positive experience: Good menu choices, bit pricey but good quality
Fantastic experience: Lovely venue for drive it day
Positive experience: Beautiful place and location. The food is nice, but a bit expensive, £10+ for a sandwich with crisps and a tiny bit of salad. They should have fries on a plate, not crisps, for that price.
Fantastic experience: Visited Millers Kitchen and Glass and craft. If wanting to sit indoors for food and coffee I would recommend to book a table as a family of 6 were turned away as there was no indoor seating available. It was heavily raining outside. Glass and Craft. A good place to visit for unique gifts. Especially the shelf for Meadow Mosaics. Great unique hand crafted glass Birds, Hearts tea lights and one off stepping stones available.
Fantastic experience: Lots to see The Mill itself. Easy parking. Lovely little cafe fresh coffe and tasty snacks. Great charity shop there. Lovely are to visit. Great pub a mile a way in the village of Kersey very pretty with Suffolk ford and lovely buildings for photos. Pub called The Bell super food.
Fantastic experience: Several lovely outlets all in one place. Crafts, fashion, hair salon and tearoom.
Fantastic experience: Lovely area to visit
Negative experience: The cafe has polite service but everything is grossly overpriced. £9.80 for a sausage roll? £6 for a bacon sandwich? Everything was excessive, I've been to so called gastro pubs and central London places that aren't this much of a rip off. £4 for a watery thin lukewarm powdered hot chocolate. If I'm walking through the area again I definitely won't return and wouldn't recommend anyone else do so unless they want open wallet surgery.
Fantastic experience: Great food, warm comfortable, reasonable prices, very cheerful staff, plenty of seating inside and out, lovely location in the Suffolk countyside, great place to adventureize.
Fantastic experience: Lovely cafe and shops. We really enjoyed our visit today. Everyone so friendly and helpful. The children enjoyed it too
Fantastic experience: Pottery and glass painting were excellent. Perfect for a half-term activity and very good value for money.
Fantastic experience: Very nice mini outlet with a lovely Cafe. Highly recommend Soaps & Scrubs.
Fantastic experience: A stylish and cosy place with lovely food.
Fantastic experience: Lots of bargains at the charity shop will be back for more xx
Positive experience: My daughter took my grandchildren for Santa. It was expensive but well worth the time slot they booked. Grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of things to do. Got lots of presents of centre. Highly recommend it at Christmas time
Fantastic experience: Went to Santa's Workshop with 4 of my grandchildren. We have been several times in previous years but this was by far the best. They've worked so hard and it's really paid off! Loved the whole thing
Fantastic experience: Excellent Santa's workshop.
Negative experience: Charity shop was great however the entrance into the area was a joke ,dangerous road ,and stupid driver was driving like a maniac. Will never go back
Fantastic experience: The Kersey Mill hosted our work’s Christmas event. They were absolutely fab - thank you!
Positive experience: Such a shame they've made this so unaffordable. £120 for me and my 3 children!? Hardly the Christmas spirit of giving.. take take take £££
Positive experience: Lovely location and different shopping
Positive experience: Lovely walk around charity shop there to Happy days
Positive experience: I was very impressed by the care and patience of the staff in this pleasant tea room. I saw a couple having afternoon tea there and it did look delicious. My friend is on a gluten free and largely dairy free diet and I am diabetic so we were not easy customers! The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Gret pleace good for dancing
Fantastic experience: A lovely venue with some lovely independent shop's
Fantastic experience: Love this little place, always lovely reasonably priced food in a cosy atmosphere
Negative experience: Ordinary breakfast in a very ordinary small dinning area, that is normally occupied by mothers having high volume conversations. Avoid the huge rip off sandwiches. Not impressed.
Fantastic experience: Studio 10 is a fantastic hairdressers, free car parking , a place to eat and shops aswell. Highly recommend studio 10
Positive experience: Nice cafe, good service and some interesting shops.
Fantastic experience: Cycled there for breakfast and didn't regret it. Options of sitting inside, outside at the front or a sheltered courtyard at the back. Best breakfast I've had for a long time. Good coffee in a mug, food was excellent. Didn't explore the other outlets on site, but will definitely go back. Kersey village is close by and also worth a visit.
Fantastic experience: Delightful venue , beautiful setting, fantastic staff
Fantastic experience: Love it miller's kitchen fab
Fantastic experience: Had a lovely lunch not rushed at all
Fantastic experience: My husband and I got married here in July and cannot fault a thing! Would highly recommend as a wedding venue the grounds are just beautiful and our wedding coordinator was incredible.
