Positive experience: Could do with more cleaning stations for the machines
Hi. Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. PureGym prides itself on being able to offer state of the art fitness facilities to our members in a safe and welcoming environment. We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols, including the introduction of cleaning stations, to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Hi Connor. Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Negative experience: Realistically this gym lacks about half machines/ equipment I would expect to see even in a commercial gym. An excess of cardio equipment but seriously lacking in every other area. Obviously for the price you don’t expect high quality equipment but you expect for there to be a range of standard equipment. The least equipped commercial gym I’ve ever been to.

Positive experience: chill gym but busy ahell during da day but clean n nice facilities nothing to complain about really in terms of value of money etc. I recommend going at like 11pm if you can cuz then by the end you omegachillin p much on your own private gym experience biiiig stuff real freelo no more no less I'm afraid.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym. Really feel a part of the gym community and for the most part you see the same people regularly and can easily chat with others in such a friendly environment. Only downside is that that can change a little with new term and swathes of students coming in,the gym can get suddenly busy

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym massive amount of dumbbells and fitness equipment and carido area really good.. Nice staff done a fitness class strength 30 really enjoyed this got the heart rate up instructor was really good and kept us going no hanging around. Thanks again from Brian

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely accidental one on one PT experience here when I turned up randomly and entered a class which had no one else booked (weird time of day) - he kept me entertained and motivated and was personable and I enjoyed the sweat immensely!

Positive experience: Easygoing and just does the job. It is pretty smelly during the weekend and possibly someone should troubleshoot the air conditioning when its busy, but overall all good.

Negative experience: To many students sat on their phones while on equipment. Added after response You do go to staff however they tend to me sat on their phones

Positive experience: The gym is good overall but unfortunately they do not have some leg and back training machines. The EZ bar for cables is missing, and they do not have benches that can become declined as well as inclined. Overall the staff is very polite and eager to help.

Positive experience: I joined up a couple weeks ago and I am happy with the equipment, it's got everything I need so no complaints. Only downside was the joining fee, like what even is a joining fee? Why does it cost me money to sign up to your gym? I have chosen your gym to sign up to over others in the area, yet I am being punished for that?!

Fantastic experience: 95 times out of 100 I can use equipment I want but sometimes young girls not using equipment but laying on it using there mobile phones I now its nice to support your back ect but can do that nr wall not using equipment other people want to use apart from that very good gym in my mind gym is for exercise not using mobile phones stopping other people using equipment

Negative experience: It's a con. The change the price with no notice and you end up paying way more than a better quality gym.

Negative experience: So, puregym wanted to reward their members by allowing use of other gyms over Easter but forgot to mention the part where you'd be accused of personal training if you didn't do so alone. Absolute joke, especially when I pay my membership and my own PT in Brislington. Manager was rude & obnoxious and didn't accept that wasn't the case, just proceeded to throw accusations around. Be sticking to my home gym in future.

Positive experience: I think the gym is to busy even at night i always go in the night at gym after work around 23:20 but on this gym is very hard to do a training in a good time if you want to use a machine or something you need to wait minimum 10 minutes big minus for that

Positive experience: Not a bad little gym but it's exactly that- little. It has most necessary equipment including cables, free weights, a small cardio section and an open mobility section. The issues are it is busy all through the day and the numbers can be checked on the app so unless you're willing to queue or only use one machine, it may not be great. Upside is it's 24hr and has a welcoming atmosphere- even if it is very student dominated. One of the most affordable and accessible gyms in bath overall.

Positive experience: Parking location is not sign posted very well and took a while to find the correct car park. As with all pure gyms, it can get pretty busy. There are not many benches for bench press and when it is fairly busy it's near impossible to get on certain equipment. Some of equipment is close to walkways which can be a bit of a pain. Seems to be quite small for a pure gym even though the building looks huge. As always with pure gym, good quality equipment, lots of dumbells and plenty of cleaning supplies to wipe down equipment.

Negative experience: Completely ignored when asked to cancel subscription. Charged £57 when I was both injured and not even in the city after asking to cancel it via phone many months beforehand, but naturally with PureGym’s “no refunds under any circumstances” policy, I had no chance of reclaiming that money. If that’s not bad enough, the next month they charged me another £37 because apparently me literally asking them to cancel it wasn’t clear enough. So I’m now out of pocket £100 as a student and their customer service couldn’t care less. To add to this, I waited weeks and weeks for a £10 refund (for a period when government guidelines physically prevented me from attending the gym) and found myself still waiting for it to “come through” months later. Was a loyal PureGym member for a very long time, but I’ve been totally ripped off, and will never enter a PureGym again.

Negative experience: I asked to cancel my membership from a specified date to which they agreed. But then they cancelled it instantly, leaving me locked out of the gym and said I have to buy another month's membership to gain access, costing an extra £40! PureGym isn't taking responsibility for their mistake and is asking me to pay the cost- very unprofessional. Also can't reach them on the phone so you have to wait days for a response via email. Definitely won't be returning to PureGym.

Fantastic experience: Really good gym, lots of equipment considering the price is so reasonable. Would love for them to buy a hammer strength chest press machine, would recommend pure to anyone who’s looking to start at or move gyms
Negative experience: Gym is far too small compared to the amount of people that go. It is right in the middle of the student accommodation which means it is always so busy. The only real time you can get a good workout in is at 1am. Ridiculous

Negative experience: Pretty poor pricing and always busy. They’ve clearly not done their research into the area’s demographics, resulting in a gym that is far too small for the demand it gets. Being situated in close proximity to Oldfield Park and several thousand student houses, I would’ve thought PureGym would’ve selected a bigger site to open a gym in Bath

Positive experience: Hi, not your normal gym goer, I’m a 60 year old female, rather intimidated when I first arrived and it took some time to find a member of staff. Eventually did and was shown around.I would have liked to have been offered an induction or personal training but this was not offered. I will persevere due to the location but a warmer and more encouraging welcome would have been appreciated

Positive experience: First day there today and it was great. My partner and I moved to Bath in July ready to start University and were hoping to find a decent gym which is affordable and has an decent variety of equipment. We are more than pleased. Great selection of compound and free weights, plus good cardio options also. The gym is modern and clean with excellent social distancing procedures in place. Plus it isn't overly busy in the morning. Fantastic student membership discount also.
Fantastic experience: Clean and tidy , and can jump from one machine to another if not in peak times .Due to the circumstances we're in , you may have to Waite . never been to a gym before I don't know where the time goes while I'm there love it .
Fantastic experience: Clean, huge variety of equipment fast entry. Membership deal is incredibly affordable and friendly staff. Great location. Can't fault it really.. Oh too much blokes hogging the mirrors
Fantastic experience: I moved from Bath Leisure Centre, which is one of the cheaper ones but this costs almost half that! But this one is much better condition, perfectly clean, all the equipment you need, fully trained and helpful staff, all classes included, so much better here!
