East Riding Leisure Beverley: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Lovely leisure centre use the pool there have been in the gym for a loo all looks good staff are nice not been in the cafe yet
Positive experience: We do Gym, swim and various sports games ie table tennis, badminton and other net games, equipment provided, from 1pm to 4pm every day you want for £13-50 each a month, going up to 14-50 in January , you can do all day from about £40 , not sure exactly. A lovely cafeteria, with 10% discount for members.Parking costs £5 a year for 4 hours daily. You can use any council leisure centres in East Yorkshire. To us this is a no brainer. We use Beverley mainly with good staff who are very helpful. There are some refurbishments needed. Otherwise, we would have given a 5
Positive experience: Excellent gym, pool and classes. Swimming lessons for my kids are great too. The only thing that lets it down is the online booking system
Fantastic experience: Great sports facilities. Use the 3G pitch weekly for my children's football training.
Fantastic experience: First time been they went play badminton nice place
Fantastic experience: The support received from Paul B and Pat as part of my 'Fit for your Operation' scheme has been excellent and exceeded my expectations. Being part of the scheme, receiving the advice and motivation from Paul and Pat to keep moving forward has helped me make permanent changes to my life for the better. When life has thrown a few curveballs my way, Paul has been an incredible listener and gave great health advice, showing willing to do all he can to keepe on track. It's a pleasure to be part of this gym - a super team.
Negative experience: The pool is far too cold. Most people put up with it but who wants to swim in cold water? The children’s pool was warmer but not by a huge amount. The price to go swimming is already a lot so the pool could at least be at a decent temperature! Shame really as the pool is a decent size and the centre in general is nice. I would pay more regularly to swim more and bring my children, but not when it’s so cold.
Positive experience: Good advice very helpful. Changing rooms clean.
Fantastic experience: Back to the gym after nearly a year off and the staff are still as helpful as when I first started. The facilities are very good and at the time I visited (11:30) it was not to busy.
Fantastic experience: Lovely pool, huge sports hall and friendly staff
Positive experience: The staff are the only upside to this place...it needs a major update.
Negative experience: Noisy, inappropriate music for older swimmers. Looks run down and could do with a spring clean in the changing area.
Positive experience: Great thanks for kid's, pig to park.
Negative experience: Swimming lessons for kids is a waste of time Too many in the pool. Instructions not in the water, trying to show them by gesticulating from the sideline. Only half hour sessions. Trying to show them too many variations rather than get them actually able to swim first. Most of the half hour sessions are taken up with messing about. It's a shame because the facilities are good. Just get in there with them, make them take notice, need at least a one hour session. Driffield is a much better option, but mostly booked up. I guess that speaks for itself.
Positive experience: Good facilities but it could do with an upgrade to some things like changing rooms , but nice pool and gym
Fantastic experience: Not ever been to a gym before, I just love going now friendly and welcoming, my gym instructor just brilliant
Negative experience: Went for a swim today at Beverley. The pool area was well manned, clean and tidy. The changing rooms and toilet on the other hand....changing rooms were dirty, floor had not been cleaned and it smelt like wee! The toilets were dirty with toilet roll on the floor and just generally dirty. I'll be taking the family elsewhere in future!
Positive experience: Friendly staff just a tad pricey
Fantastic experience: Love it but sometimes can be overly busy and no machines available in the gym too finish your workout which is very frustrating.
Fantastic experience: Had a lovely morning with my grandson in the swimming pool and the staff and life guards were very pleasant and amiable. Food in the cafe was great too ❤️
Fantastic experience: Great place, everything you need in one place for a community
Positive experience: At a dog show where we were judges. Lunch was provided in the cafe and was reasonable. My jacket potato was a little undercooked, but all in all good. Staff in the cafe were lovely.
Negative experience: Wet side changing room floors need cleaning more often. Obviously a staffing problem here. I was in there at 1pm today and the floor was filthy, the changing room was empty with no sign of any cleaner. If Haltemprice are managing to keep their wet side changing room floor clean, surely this can be replicated at Beverley?
Fantastic experience: Watched my granddaughter in swimming gala really good facility's
Positive experience: Not enough seating in reception area
Fantastic experience: Body balance with Michelle and Kerry is fabulous. Both are so kind and genuinely caring, and have offered advice and support throughout my wrist injury. My favourite instructors and I look forward to your classes. Thank you.
Positive experience: Went for the inflatables on a Sunday, great 45mins and good price
Fantastic experience: Attended a recent, well organised, sports event at the leisure centre, where staff couldn't have been more polite and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Excellent centre gym was great and class was fantastic. Pool lovely and clean. Staff were all helpful and friendly
Fantastic experience: Great staff. Plenty of activities to choose from
Positive experience: Generally great. But the gym is spoiled by people who think it’s ok to do a full 40min workout on one machine or alternate between pieces of equipment. Even at low peak times this is annoying and the management need to address it. If you can get on a a smith machine or cable crossover , you’ll be lucky.
Positive experience: Very quiet when we visited. The staff were lovely and welcoming but the leisure centre itself looks very tired and in desperate need of refreshing or refurbishment
Fantastic experience: genuinely nice size swimming pool, wheelchair accessible parking, wheelchair accessible entrance, lots of grounds, friendly staff. looking forward to coming again in the near future!
Fantastic experience: I recently visited East Riding Leisure Beverly and had an amazing experience! This facility offers a variety of sports and activities to enjoy, including mixed martial arts such as Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Kendo, and Karate. It was my first time trying these martial arts disciplines, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The instructors at East Riding Leisure Beverly were knowledgeable and passionate about their crafts. They provided clear instructions and made sure that everyone felt comfortable and safe during the sessions. Whether you are a beginner or have prior experience, the classes cater to different skill levels, so you can easily find a suitable class for yourself. Aside from the martial arts classes, East Riding Leisure Beverly offers a wide range of other sports and activities as well. It is a one-stop destination for fitness enthusiasts and sports lovers. You can try various activities like basketball, tennis, and much more. This variety ensures that there is something for everyone, regardless of their interests or preferences. I particularly appreciated the on-site cafeteria at East Riding Leisure Beverly. It provided a convenient option for refueling after intense workouts. The cafeteria offered a good selection of food and beverages to satisfy different tastes and dietary needs. The staff was friendly, and the service was efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. The overall atmosphere and cleanliness of East Riding Leisure Beverly were commendable. The facilities were well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant and hygienic environment for all visitors. The staff was friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist, which further enhanced the overall experience. In summary, my visit to East Riding Leisure Beverly was a fantastic experience. From participating in my first mixed martial arts classes to exploring other sports and enjoying the cafeteria, everything was enjoyable. The facility offers a well-rounded experience for fitness and sports enthusiasts, with top-notch instructors, a variety of activities, and excellent amenities. I highly recommend East Riding Leisure Beverly to anyone looking to try new sports and have a great time in a welcoming environment.
Positive experience: Lovey clean facility, friendly staff. Computer tills weren't working so we had a delay at reception but it was resolved
Negative experience: Although a clean well specified gym, pool, and courts, difficult to visit some facilities without membership. Contradictory rules about pay as you go gym (for visitors to the area) and staff on reception who franky don't know what they're doing.
Fantastic experience: Visited the facility to watch a pre-season friendly between Beverley Town v Goole AFC. The match was played on the state-of-the -art 3G pitch. Plenty of parking along side the pitch. Toilets and a cafe available in the leisure complex.
Negative experience: Went to the cafe yesterday, the tv menus flick to the next page quickly not giving you chance to read while stood at the till. & even though they had more staff then customers, they took 25 minutes to cook a burger that was dry and burnt. (No cheese, no fries) The £5 kids nuggets meal was 4 nuggets and a bowl of beans. Complete and utter Rip Off!
Fantastic experience: Never been to a better car sales. No pressure, very helpful. Pleasant experience. Would recommend anyone.
Positive experience: Nice location and op to date facilities.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service delivery from the staff. Facilities are up to standard. Clean
Positive experience: Nice pool but sometimes the changing rooms smell bad!
Negative experience: Ridiculously high prices, £4-30 for a fish finger sandwich, 2 slices of bread with 2 fish fingers!! Burger was £6, no chips, bit of salad…shocking. No wonder it’s empty. Staff not exactly welcoming either, I gave it 2 stars because it was open, it would of got 5 stars if it was closed
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and friendly environment, very knowledgeable
Positive experience: Joined online and went to collect my membership card whilst also having a swim , nice exp
Positive experience: Could do with the café being open a little later
Fantastic experience: Pretty good gym for a solid price great for anyone intrested in getting a foot in bodybuilding or powerlifting however more serious lifters may wish to seek out a gym with a wider range of open hours and more equipment
Positive experience: Staff friendly enough. Cafe serves nice coffee
Fantastic experience: Always lovey excellent staff
Positive experience: Only visited cafe and used toilet facilities. Cafe clean staff very professional and polite.,toilets very clean and tidy rest of place is clean not that had time to use it
Positive experience: Great gym, swimming pools great for all ages, but the staff in the cafe let this centre down. Unhelpful miserable definitely a let down
Positive experience: Nice swimming pool. Lots of lane swimming and not overcrowded. It would have been nice if the pool was slightly lower in temperature, it was a bit too warm for me.
Fantastic experience: Lovely centre with a wide range of classes for all types. Good cafe area with well priced items, teas, coffees etc. Been going there for 6/8 weeks every Monday for the yoga class which is great fun and very therapeutic. Always popular too.
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff, all very keen to help. Coffee is a bit expensive though. All in all, brilliant.
Positive experience: It's a gym. You can use equipment to get fit. There is a swimming pool, squash courts and a cafe. Other rooms and classes are available.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and cafe!
Positive experience: Went for a special Olympics gala. Very good.
Positive experience: A well run leisure centre catering for everyone Really like the new class box n burn but it is really hard to get booked on as they are always full in a morning . be nice like to see a couple more midweek morning classes added please
Positive experience: The staff serving in the cafe maybe need a customer service course. Lukewarm coffee. Not great.
Fantastic experience: The aerobics class on Thursday was excellent.
Fantastic experience: This Sports Centre is excellent and highly recommended. Fantastic facilities throughout - with knowledgeable and friendly helpful staff. Best to phone up and make enquiries first - or just go to the front desk and ask. There is plenty of parking - including disabled parking.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic swimming pool absolutely perfect for little ones and also has a separate large pool for older /competative swimmers. This place also holds brilliant children's party's and the chicken nuggets are amazing
Fantastic experience: They are very helpful. I enjoy the swimming lessons. They are helping me to improve. The instructor gave me good feedback on stroke technique
Positive experience: Would be nice if Old Age Pensioners where classed as a Corporate and received discounted prices.
Fantastic experience: Great tidy leisure centre with plenty of parking.
Positive experience: A very well laid out community unit and run by the local council, with lots of facilities for young and sporting activities.
Fantastic experience: Great place to lose weight and meet new friends
Fantastic experience: Lovely centre with friendly staff
Positive experience: Dated equipment in the gym, poor fitness instructor presence
Fantastic experience: Really well equipped leisure centre, very popular with the local community, clean, tidy and well maintained, staff are very friendly and helpful.
Positive experience: Made us very welcome for our AFVBC, Danny did your company proud as he put on a very good buffet. Thankyou to all
Positive experience: Facilities are more than adequate for a regular user of the pool & gym. Lockers can definitely do with replacing though, thus 4 stars.
Fantastic experience: Plenty to do at the leisure centre, as a new Mum I find the soft play really good for my little one and we also love the pool there. Great cafe too.
Positive experience: A good place very well organized will definitely be there.
Negative experience: Changing cabins can be much cleaner!!!! Teenagers that are working there don't seem to care about the cleaning and hygiene! Big pool far to cold and sometimes not good organised!
Fantastic experience: Went to the gym, plenty of equipment to use ,also cleaning sprays +paper towels to use after using the equipment ,loved it
Positive experience: Large facility that covers a lot of bases. I only ever come here for swimming galas and so the excessive warmth and noises does remove some enjoyment of the place! The car park is a touch small for the size of centre.
Positive experience: Not a bad place but some of the equipment in the gym requires attention, tvs dont work etc
Positive experience: There for a kids party. Who doesn't like a bouncy castle and party food (oh the chicken nuggets)
Fantastic experience: No problems parking very large carpark. Did not go into the Leisure Centre only the grounds. Went to see grandson playing football. Impressed with the facilities for the football, the children were playing on astro turf and fully fenced in. Grandson loves playing there.
Fantastic experience: Great gym and amazing range of classes, super helpful gym staff :)
Negative experience: Poor. Floor was filthy in swimming changing rooms, pool was cold. Most of hair dryers are either missing or out of order. Poorly maintained which is a shame as the pool itself isn't bad.
Fantastic experience: Good value, friendly staff, properly trained class instructors and a great cafe.
Fantastic experience: The gym is nice plenty of machines etc...
Fantastic experience: Outstanding all weather pitches, perfect for a game on an extremely wet afternoon!
Fantastic experience: Great gym. With fantastic facilities
Positive experience: It was OK clean as you go when working out
Positive experience: Lovely clean ,tidy place, just need to fill over shoe dispenser regular..
Positive experience: Good place friendly staff Clean and tidy Let down by the poor condition of the lockers near too the toilets and changing rooms Cafe offering a good selection of food and drink Four hours free parking if you are using the facilities Chris the manager is approachable and listens to you
Fantastic experience: Excellent facility......great gym....inclusive classes.
Fantastic experience: Great local council run leisure centre - I don’t use the gym but the swimming pool is excellent. Well run and clean, plenty of lockers and changing rooms. The new all weather football pitches are brilliant- my son has played on them a few times now and gives them the thumbs up. The car park extension is welcome too!
Positive experience: Clean and friendly place good programme for so many different activities,, swimming gym facilities party area cramped so best checking numbers before booking.
Fantastic experience: The inflatable session is so much fun for the children, the lifeguards start with a little prep /safety talk before informing the non-swimmers of their limits, then they're just left to it, it's like a large long, two-laned assault course with a slide at the end should they make it. Kids will happy run the assault course, slide in, swim back and start again over and over, it's a 45 minute session and I think this is about enough for them, any longer and they would be awfully tired.
Positive experience: Clean ,tidy , fun....what more foes a person need ....and there is a pub opposite for the not so healthy folk!!!
Positive experience: We go here a lot and always have positive experiences with the staff. The kids love the inflatable sessions, but they sometimes are a bit raucous with older kids pushing the boundaries too far. Although the bigger kids are usually very mindful about the smaller ones most of the time. We love eating in the cafe afterwards, especially sausage sandwiches.
Fantastic experience: Good experience. All nice staff. Good gym! ️♀️
Negative experience: Nice temperature in the pool, however we booked a lane, but unfortunately there were no lanes, so trying to do lengths was impossible due to other swimmers not swimming lengths, so I really don't understand the point in 'booking a lane', because it isn't the case.
Positive experience: Easy accessible but could do with more signs for the motorbike training
Positive experience: Great place but you have to pay for the parking if you are a non member, update.... As long as you are using the facilities you don't have to pay for parking.
Fantastic experience: A lovely new building appears to be well set out.spent time in the cafe area.good space between tables followed all rules required.staff were excellent and food good.highly recommended
