Anytime Fitness Hither Green

Negative experience: I signed up for this gym as it is the only one in the area and unfortunately it is not worth the money. I tried to schedule the free trial they offer twice. Both times I arrived and I could not find a staff member. After the second time I decided to just pay for a membership as I did not want to be stood up for a third time. There is not nearly enough equipment in the gym to cater to all of its members. I had to wait for 35 minutes for 1 of the 4 treadmills to become available. Even the free weights area is tiny and can't fit more than 4 people. I spend most of my workouts standing around waiting for equipment to become free which makes the time I'm spending at the gym so much longer then it needs to be.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member of many many gym chains around London. This particular branch is probably the worst value-for-money gym in London right now. Lulled in by the convenience of location, I signed up to an archaic 12 month contract as anything more each month would be criminal for this gym. It’s dirty and very poorly equipped, feels more like a hotel gym than a £46 a month London gym. Curious where all this money goes.

Positive experience: Good gym, decent equipment and not too busy.

Positive experience: Good neighborhood gym. Has all the equipment you need. My only gripe is the temperature. It’s about 23 degrees. Not great temperature if you are actually working out.

Negative experience: You cannot contact with them. Their phone doesn’t work.

Positive experience: Spacious gym and lovely staff who show care for their clients. Classes are fun. Induction includes a suggested routine plus nutrition tips, and you can book follow-ups to monitor progress free of charge. This is really helpful and appreciated. The equipment is a bit old. For example, the ellipticals often don’t get your heart rate readings. Other Anytime Fitness have more modern cardio equipment. Staff hours are a bit unreliable. It’s better to call them in advance, but they’re always happy to help.

Positive experience: Good gym but seriously needs more plates and a working leg press!

Negative experience: To be honest, this place is horrible! Old equipment, few equipment, all well worn out, when you need a dumbbell or bench press for example, there is only one unit for all of them. Very dirty too, the ceilings and all equipment very dusty. For the price they should take better care of the place! Which is unconventional, £50 a month! I suggest they improve the cleaning team and maintain the equipments well and replace items. The only cool thing about all this is that there aren't as many people at normal times.

Positive experience: Gym is small but has most equipment needed I tend to use very early in the morning so always quiet then. Plenty of parking but remember to validate in gym on arrival

Negative experience: It's an ok gym which isn't too busy but tailgating is a big problem. Last Saturday morning I was tailgated both ways by two different people. Upon entry the announcement via the tannoy went off saying that tailgating had occurred but there was nobody there to address it. We can't be expected to challenge the tailgaters. We pay a lot of money for security and for the staff to be taking care of it. Also, one of the treadmills has been broken for months. Please fix the security and the review will be corrected to 4/5.

Negative experience: Sadly, they don't treat their contractors with the respect we deserve. I have taught two yoga classes on 04th August and am yet to receive the payment. I have sent over 20 emails, and this hasn't been sorted yet, nor do they give me the owner's details to sort this out, which is absolutely disrespectful towards someone who was committed to helping them out by covering last-minute classes.

Negative experience: Staff nice. Toilets and showers usually blocked. There are machines that have not worked for months if not years. Just fix some stuff will you?

Fantastic experience: Just did a orientation....The young lady was very friendly....just reopened ,So a lot of their computers where offline.such as the ,on the demand classes , overall very clean,inspite of opening up for around six years.they utilised the four month closed down to clean the place thoroughly.,...joined the one in Lewisham.... unfortunately to my dismay, what there policy is,and what they deliver are two different stories...check my review on that one

Positive experience: I am going to review the features and services within this gym and then give my overall review. Starting with: Customer Service: The customer service in this gym seems to be pretty good from what I’ve seen and experienced. The members of staff are helpful, easy to talk to and provide great guidance and assistance when queried. It’s worth noting that this gym provides personal training, classes, massages and some levels of physio-therapy although I haven’t explored these options myself as I’m mainly interested in the gym. Equipment: Although this gym is moderately sized, the equipment variety available is surprisingly satisfactory. I say this because they basically have all the key and essential equipment you need to get a good workout in for whatever body part(s) you’re interested in. It’s really easy to make the most out of the equipment available and I would highly recommend you view the gym before signing up in case you’re looking for gyms with specific equipment. Price: The price for this gym was the greatest deterrent for me, for a long time and I only ended up joining this gym because I had no other options. I think this is probably why the price is so high – they’re making the most out of the demand by squeezing every last penny out of you. The only alternative I had was a gym 20 minutes walking distance away and that’s too inconvenient. So here I am, now paying an absurdly ludacris fee of £45 A MONTH for a gym that should be half the price (or atleast not so much). It’s worth noting that (as far as I know and from when I’ve asked) there are no special offers, discounts or customer loyalty schemes to help ease the pain caused by these high fees. I can only imagine how much the classes and personal training fees might be. Size: The gym itself is moderately sized. It’s not the biggest gym around nor is it small. Its size has honestly never been an issue or a point of contention for me especially since this gym is never packed to the brim unlike other gyms I’ve been to In London. I’ve also never had to queue for a machine or equipment – you could argue that this gym’s size is actually perfect for what it does and has on offer. Hygiene: This gym is IMPRESSIVELY clean and tidy. Like honestly, even the toilets are well kept and in good condition. This is a prime example of how well kept this gym is and it really stands out and deserves commendation because some gyms tend to fall short when it comes to consistent hygienic maintenance. Summary: Overall, although I have my qualms about the price – this gym is pretty outstanding to say the least and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to join a new gym (and for those who can stomach the price). The 24/7 access is the cherry on top of a well-crafted cake that is the Hither Green Anytime Fitness gym.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym in a good area. Never too busy and there is always a machine free. They have enough benches in the free weights and the equipment is up to standard. The Tesco nearby is ideal and parking here is free.

Positive experience: Small clean gym with good equipment. However often overcrowded (with people and equipment) which makes it feel overpriced (£45 a month). The reason I go there is because I live next to it. If I had to travel, I wouldn't be happy to pay this price. P.s. I would change the floor plan.

Fantastic experience: Situated in a decent location, with plenty of private parking available. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's helpful that it's next to Tesco, in case you need something on you way back. During peak times, however, it's quite difficult to find an excercise bench! So highly recommend going early or late in the day, especially during weekends.
