Positive experience: I’ve been at the PureGym almost 2 years. Since then prices gone up service gone down. Not the best facilities. They have reduce the shower heat, cold water. Speed of the shower is very slow. Changing rooms are dirty. Equipment not sufficient for, some of them are broken, not bothered to fix. you have to wait for someone else finish their raps. Not various equipment as well. Drinking water tap smells.

Positive experience: Gym is great, good value. But, the showers are terrible, filthy, cold water for 10-15 seconds per button-press, some don't work properly because people punch them out of frustration and not much privacy. That cold water though...it's a grower, not a show'er.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We has recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. Our showers are now set at a temperature of 36C and have a flow rate of 5 litres per minute. These parameters are regularly monitored and we also have regular checks carried out on boilers and associated equipment to ensure the units are operating as they should be across all of our gyms. On occasion, we can get faults on our water system which is normal. When this happens, there is a process in place to ensure we arrange for our contractors to attend, investigate, and resolve the faults and return the systems back to full working order within a timely manner. If you believe there may be an issue, please speak to a member of the gym team who will be able to assist further. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Hi Victoria, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Negative experience: Full of kids doing all wrong, too many people, not enough machines. The upstairs layout is really bad. Honestly, it's a nightmare to have a proper session.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to PureGym West Thurrock for over 3 years now and seen many changes in equipment and staff. This is the first time I’ve left a review because I wanted to praise the recent staff and management. Under the new manager I constantly see the manager and staff walking around the gym floor cleaning and putting away weights people have just left laying around! The friendly male cleaner is always hard at work keeping the facilities clean and greets you with a smile and a hello. The refurbishment of the gym is great and was much needed. Plenty of equipment now especially in the free weight section and bar lifting sections. Also love the little touch of the inspirational quote on the inside of the women’s lockers!(photo attached) Always makes me smile when I see it as I’m about to start my gym routine.

Fantastic experience: Even when is very busy, you will always find everything in order and clean. Stuff members are always there to help and assist. Shower, toilets, changing rooms just unbearable clean despite so much people coming in the gym. All the equipment are in order and work as they supose. Membership is reasonable so I definitely recommend. *Forgot to say that there is a loads of gym classes plus personal trainers available too.

Positive experience: Friendly atmosphere. Classes are great and loved by many. Choose an off peak time to visit as peak hours can get very crowded so less chance to access the equipment you need. All good otherwise. Would recommend.

Negative experience: The Gym itself is ok, but if you workout after 10pm be prepare mentally to remember your reg number every single time you go there, otherwise you will be surprised with a unforgivable PCN from EURO CAR PARKS this is just insane you pay a membership and still getting a PCN if you don't type you reg number every single time you come to the Gym. They should have a better way to member not to be fined. And if you challenge with Euro car parks they just don't care and will issue the PCN anyway. Even if you prove that you are a member of the Gym

Fantastic experience: Since the new boss lady took over, the gym has significantly improved! The gym is much tidier in general, it’s cleaner and the team are friendly and always ready to help out. Krystian is my PT as well, couldn’t recommend him enough as he’s so switched on all of the time. Also, I hear he is great at the Salsa…

Positive experience: Well equipt gym which attracted me to this gym above all others and reasonably priced. Would like to see a women only section, as lot of men using the weights area. Lots of exercise classes to suit all interest and you can bring a friend depending membership which is an added bonus. Lots of free parking spaces just register your car details at entrance. The equipment is there it is up to you to get the job done. The cleaning seems to be improving and wipes are available for equipment. I note some people don't bother too use them. You can check how busy gym is on app before attending.

Fantastic experience: It was good and the Manager Kevin and Connor he helps alot people to get fit. Even though without your PT fees they invite you to join their classes which is very comfy,and helpful.

Negative experience: The changing rooms and showers smell stale and like mould they need a deep clean ASAP. also people act like filthy animals. A notice needs to go up to inform people of their cleanliness. Some machines are tired and used especially some of the treadmills not having always functioning buttons have to press hard for it to work. Would love to see mainly the changing rooms cleaner

Negative experience: One of the worst gyms in the nation. High levels of crime in/around the mall (car was broken into while I was training).

Negative experience: Unstaffed hours- I was having issues with getting into the gym at around 5:30pm as my code was not coming through while I was selecting forgotten pin, I went into the gym and pressed the green button for assistance but noone was coming out. I proceeded to wait for another 5 minutes while trying to call for assistance but still no one was coming out. I have checked the website for the staffed hours and it said it was within the hours. However I am more disappointed in the fact that when I called the telephone number, it does not have assistance but only there to tell u to send a message online.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience, the equipment is very good and I went everlast before so I have a comparison to make, but there is one downside to it is other utility that makes you relaxed other a sore workout which is a sauna

Fantastic experience: Great gym, I like to go after midnight as I prefer an empty gym and to have free reign of all the equipment. It's very clean and they have a great selection of equipment for any workout. Definitely value for money and the fact that it's 24 hour suits my lifestyle better, if ever I can't sleep I go for a quick workout.

Negative experience: I give zero if I could . I have booked 1-2-1 session booked and my booking cancelled but other people booked the session. How unfair it could be ! Equipment are old and 1 in 5 broken and are not clean . That’s a reason it’s cheap.

Negative experience: Small gym not very much equipment in there limited machines to choose from dirty conditions but suppose you get what you pay for ab salute round the corner best gym by far round that area

Fantastic experience: I've joint here about a months ago. I've never been a big fan of the gym however I've been thoroughly enjoying going here. I love combat class, it's a killer but so much fun. I like how I can check on the app how busy the gym is and that I can go when it's less busy

Positive experience: Been a member of PureGym several years. I don't like the new layout, seems like a backwards move splitting the cardio equipment between both floors. The place could definitely do with a good clean, the cardio equipment is generally not very clean and I see very few people wiping the machines down after use. The cleaning spray availability is intermittent, there sometimes, missing others. I'm not 100% sure that the air conditioning works as it seems to be quite warm at times, makes a cardio session harder when you're hot before you even start. The gym gets very busy and seems to be getting busier, I've used the app to find quieter times but it's just busy generally. On the plus side, the gym is cheap compared to Virgin or Bannatynes. The car park has changed its parking conditions recently, if your a late night or early morning user, check the boards, it's only 10 minutes parking between 22:10 & 07:00.

Negative experience: They just increased the price by £2, this gym hasn't had sanitiser for weeks now which is disgusting. Where is the money going. We just got out of a pandemic, they need to take cleaning equipment seriously.

We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Negative experience: Last visited 4 years ago and now . This place is going down less room more crowded. Vending machines empty no padlocks to buy any more toilet and shower, not the cleanest. A lot of cardio machines are offline. It's one of the cheapest around but one of the worst, too.

Positive experience: Great machines, open 24 hours, however, can get really busy at times, layout of machines upstairs isn't great as too close to each other and gets easily crowded. Also, would be great if they supplied skipping ropes like a neighbouring gym.

Positive experience: Only just started going. The spray/tissue section could do with being tidied up a little bit other than that all good so far! UPDATE: could definitely do with a bin in the middle of the equipment upstairs and down, rubbish everywhere

Negative experience: i have been a member since this gym first opened in Thurrock. Fed up of not being able to clean the machines before use as sanitizer is never able. This is an ongoing theme. Today after going to gym in the morning, i personally spoke to the guy who was wearing a 'Manager' top to ask him to refill sanitizer for the machine, he said he will sort it but after an hour in the gym, the refill still had not been done (down stairs). This needs to be sorted as no fun trying to workout on sweaty machines that you cannot clean. Noticed other people are not happy about this either.

Negative experience: Just been refurbished. Some good changes: the entrance walkway as well as the showers and new lockers (and the studios look stylish). But it's a missed opportunity, as the relocation of cardio and weights/resistance training machines and equipment now makes the gym look and feel gloomy, cluttered and incoherent compared with Everlast over the road.

Negative experience: Just joined and I regret It. Pretty small gym, poor equiped, ( made mostly for fitness and cardio) . Little to no machines and packed with people 24/7 hugging benches and machines for 40-50 minutes.

Positive experience: It's an ok gym to get what you want done, great for beginners starting off like I did. Good value. But I highly recommend avoiding peak times as this branch gets really busy. Could be better resistance machines here (seems like they are having a revamp soon). Leg press and some cable machines are often broken and take extended periods to fix...

Positive experience: I know peak times will be busy! But WOW! ... If every machine/weigh isn't busy, then it's "out of service" ... Busy times are crazy! Hitting over 200 people at peak. Needs some boxing hang bags, but generally a decent gym.

Negative experience: Equipment has been broken for over 3 weeks now not just one bit either most of the cable flys, the AC has been leaking for longer the place is not clean and there’s no one to talk to about it absolute joke of a gym

Negative experience: The gym is quite dirty, weights everywhere, missing seats on cycling machines, broken seat adjustment and with leaking ceilings. On top of these the cable machines all 3 of them are out of order now over 2 weeks. Really unhappy for what I m paying for.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get in shape. The place is clean and well maintained. The managers and trainers are really awesome, friendly and helpful when you need them, they make you feel really comfortable. Participants very respectful, good vibes for workingout, a perfect workout environment. ✌
Positive experience: Good, well equipped gym. The only snag is that it can be very crowded, so it's not really for the serious bodybuilder. If you want to go and be able to use all the machines without having to queue up with other people, it would have to be around 10pm. I haven't checked during earlier in the day, but between 6pm to 10pm it is heaving.

Fantastic experience: Was coming here three years ago, came back bout 2 weeks now. Still very happy. Always clean, equipment always seems to be clean. There is a cleaning station for gym uses to clean the machines etc after they use them. Havent spoken to staff but they seem very friendly & not intimidating in any way. Its busy at certain times but you have to exspect that. Happy to be back, would 100% recommend

Negative experience: This gym has gone downhill since I joined over a year ago. Constantly understaffed. I have had access issues entering the gym with my PIN. When you call for assistance, the young brunette girl decides to show up after 10-15 minutes of waiting and eventually sorting yourself out and getting access eventually. She always has a pitiful excuse for why she was not able to assist you in a timely manner. Also, I believe there was a power cut on one occasion, which caused the machines to stop working, and all the lights to go out. The young female brunette staff member did not communicate with anyone and let us know what was going on. What a waste of space she is. This gym doesn't have access issues to my bank account when they take my membership payment every month, however I have access issues entering the gym with my PIN. This gym plans to increases their monthly fees from next month, but that won't apply to me because I'm canceling my membership and finding something better hopefully.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym the other side of dartford tunnel so go before 6am where the tunnel is free and then the saving on the toll pays for your gym membership

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing work out, did the cycle class with Mondli and he is brilliant! One of the best trainers there. Very friendly and creates a high energy atmosphere! Highly recommend!
