Positive experience: Good range of equipment. Fairly spacious, has a women's only section and provides a range of classes. Only thing was when I first came in, there's nothing on the app or joining email to advise you need to bring your own padlock with you. I assumed it would be the case of put £1 in and get a wrist band like other places I have been but there was nothing clear in the gym either to say you could get them in the vending machine either. Luckily i was able to ask one of the personal trainers who were kind enough to advise of this. Maybe a poster in the locker room advising locks can be purchased in the vending machine would be helpful to other first time users.

Negative experience: Very small for a puregym and isnt open 24 hours, Somehow alot more expensive then my home puregym which is 24 hour and much bigger

Fantastic experience: Awesome place and great atmosphere. The facilities and machines are very clean and staff are friendly. No wi-fi available to the costumers and that put me off a little bit as I would like to watch some workouts on YouTube and as I go on my own it would be great to be able to search different music on Spotify to keep you going. I still give it 5 stars as the place is awesome.

Positive experience: Good solid gym, great variety of machines and plenty of them. Staff seem friendly and it's a good open space with a logical layout and plenty of classes. Only issues are the men's changing room were out of order for a while when the lights were broken, and some days there are buckets around where it appears the ceiling leaks, it can be noisy and it feels stuffy sometimes.

Positive experience: Been a member for a while and the gym is only so so. The instructors are amazing, they’re very helpful and friendly but there are other aspects that can do with improvement. A big issue it the lack of wifi for gym members. The building blocks most cellphone reception so it’s incredibly hard to even use the PureGym app while being at the gym. Tesco (which is in the same building) solved this issue by providing free wifi. I think this is a service PureGym should provide their customers as well. I’ve seen replies to other reviews that suggest leaving further feedback at the gym itself so that’s something I’ll definitely be doing at my next visit.

Positive experience: Clean and tidy. I am however unhappy with using the app to invite a friend more than once as it does not work and it was suggested that I just get my dad to join. Upselling rather than problem solving. Hate the pods too

Negative experience: Well run gym spoilt by lack of aircon and unhealthy stuffiness .Insufficient ventilation is a health risk.Are you going to wait until someone passes out ?

We pump over 2,000 litres of fresh air into our gyms every second though our ventilation systems. This helps to dilute airborne virus particles and ensure members have clean fresh air to workout. Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Positive experience: The positives - equipment is in good condition and, when required, fixed promptly. The site is well maintained and generally clean. Recently installed WiFi, but it's not reliable. Hours are restrictive at weekends, especially late morning opening.The lighting is quite poor, especially near the entrance, and the side furthest from the window. The rowing machines need to be on non-slip flooring. It's really frustrating when during workout you end up against the wall

Positive experience: Update - price increases without any investment and still not 24/7 shuts very early on weekends. Very good value, a general good range of machines but does lack so of the more basic range of machines which is a shame as there is lots of poorly used space available.

Fantastic experience: Great place to go! I've been a member on and off here for a few years (due to being self employed and my times when I work) Great for women who also don't feel confident as there's a women only zone too. I took the plunge recently into a spinning class and loved it! Would recommend and would definitely go again.

Fantastic experience: Staff and other members are friendly, location is clean and all equipment is new and well maintained, also has the added benefit of being right next to the Tesco so there’s never any need to use the pricy vending machines. The only complaint I have with the gym is it’s not able to be open 24 hours.

Positive experience: Good equipment and Puregym app but let down by poor cleanliness in woman’s changing rooms (showers not clean), cleaning station antibacterial bottles often empty and stains on main gym floor) and poor lighting. The 10am-4pm opening times on weekends is poor and opening times in holidays are restricted due to the gym sharing premises with Tesco Superstore ….. frustrating also that the nearest Puregym to us after Wisbech is Peterborough, so you can’t easily nip to another one, if Wisbech site is unavailable

Positive experience: Overall, pretty happy with Pure Wisbech. Can be busy during peak early evening hours - like most gyms. Downside - close at 1600 on Sat & Sun.

Positive experience: No WiFi No Air conditing
Hi Nikita, Temperature/Air con in our gyms is automatically regulated by smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff can report this to the external company to be looked into by engineers should it be required.

Negative experience: I'm gonna start by saying that I love the culture in this gym. I've met some incredible people who are super supportive, the staff have been lovely, and overall I feel comfortable here (kind of like a home from home since I'm there so often). Unfortunately, the gym itself has seen very little investment in the past few years, which is a real shame. Air conditioning is advertised, which there is not. Wifi is advertised, which there is not, and since signal is also poor, you'll often have to wander about to load whatever you'd like to listen to/watch; great if you want to get your steps in, not so much if you've been listening to the same song for the past half hour (or, god forbid, the gyms playlist). It's a rule that if folks deadlift in the functional area (or do any lift that involves putting a lot of weight down) that they must use bumper plates. That's absolutely fine, but unfortunately there aren't enough of these to accommodate for this purpose, especially when there's big lifters in at peak times. Speaking of time, the gym shuts pretty early. I realise they're dictated by Tesco, but there's a good couple of hours gap between Puregym closing and Tesco closing. It's most egregious on Saturday, where the gym closes at 4pm despite Tesco closing at midnight. That's without going into the fact that this gym is the only Puregym I'm aware of that isn't 24/7, which it was originally intended to be, and is charging what I'd consider 24/7 membership rates in spite of this. I know of plenty of people putting in requests for equipment which have never come to fruition despite multiple attempts. Leg day can be a nightmare with one leg extension machine. I am pretty concerned about the safety of gym-goers and staff, especially recently, as the roof has been leaking water into the gym, causing issues with the lights and wiring, and an inexplicable burning smell in the ladies section. This is an incredibly spacious gym with a great atmosphere, and its users deserve to have it reflect what they amongst themselves have established.

Negative experience: No Wifi (false advertising) and poor cell signal No Aircon (false advertising) the temperature is ridiculous in there. Not enough weight plates (especially bumper plates) No investment in the gym (over 2 years since they took over from 247 fitness and they havent bought any new equipment since the takeover, even the only bench press they have was a hand-me-down) - no hack squat, no safety squat bar. Leaky roof (health and safety issue) Faulty electrics / lighting + smells like burning (health and safety issue) Have already heard many people are leaving due to these issues. The Gym Group opening in lynn should bring some competition and force someone in upper management of Puregym to actually do their Job and help out the poor guys trying to run and manage this forgotten gym.

Negative experience: Re posted as it did not appear last time. Let me start that I have been going to this gym 6 times a week since it opened (excluding covid) and it pains me to write this. But here we go The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and this is not aimed at them in any way! 1. Since opening in 2020 there has been zero investment in new kit. A lot of the equipment available are hand me downs from 24/7 fitness which puregym took over. Despite asking management teams on multiple occasions for some small extra pieces (safety squat bar, spotter arms for the racking, blocks to deadlift from) nothing has ever materialised and all relatively inexpensive from equipment providers like Blkbox. 2. There is zero air con! Trust me there is NO magic box in there that automatically controls the temperate (as alluded in a previous review) all we have is doors propped open and 2 industrial fans to move the hot air about. It’s like a green house in there and if you go in the middle of the day it’s almost unbearable. How no one has passed out is beyond me! Also there is no use passing it on to the gym managers as it’s beyond there control. 3. There is zero wifi. No member wifi at all and the gym is a signal black spot so streaming music or zoneing out to YouTube on cardio is a no go. There is staff wifi but obviously not for us! We can’t use our member pins to log in with as there’s nothing to log into!! 4. The gym is locked from the outside by a door within Tesco and needs to be unlocked by a member of staff every morning. However in the last 2 months there has been At least 4 occasions where the door was unlocked 15+ mins after the advertised opening times. With a queue of customers waiting. Once over 30mins. Why does this door need to be locked? Isn’t that that whole point of time controlled member access points? items 2-3 are clearly labelled as a selling point on the gym details (is this not misleading customers) It just feels like the focus of this gym is getting new members through the door and ignoring the dedicated members that they do have by not investing and improving what we have. I do know that being inside Tesco can be a limiting factor but just some investment inside would make a lot of people much happier. All the above is compounded with the opening of kings lynn gym group and I for one will seriously be considering the extra 10miles to get there for a more comfortable and better equipped experience with 24 hour access.

Positive experience: I’ve been going to this gym for nearly a year now and I love it. Everyone is made to feel welcome and the classes are great. However, there is no air conditioning!!!!!!? It is always warm in there, even in the winter, but now that the days are getting hotter it is unbearable. The fans only give you a bit of relief it you’re literally standing in front of them. I know the monthly cost is low, but surely air conditioning in a gym is a ‘Must’. Can something please be done about it.

Fantastic experience: PureGym Wisbech has all you could be looking for; Working hours are great, staff are always welcoming and friendly. Equipment is cleaned regularly and areas are tidy. Although it can get quite busy in the evening the way the equipment is laid and separated out allows the place to feel very spacious.
Negative experience: Maybe your patrons could get some more exercise by NOT parking in the disabled spaces at Tesco? Yes, the driver of the BMW in the middle here, who left his car in jogging bottoms carrying his bottle of water.
Negative experience: Strange layout. Equipment pointing at entrance when you walk in. Felt uncomfortable, It's too bright and too busy. Equipment very close for a big building. Dissatisfied, I am happy to pay more for better all round. Felt like a student gym at a college.

Fantastic experience: Pure gym Wisbech in my view is the best gym in Wisbech. Very friendly staff and customers too. I get help from both staff and customers. For only 19.99 a month for 7 day use and classes included. This gym can't be beaten on price or quality with all new equipment as well. The gym has had a complete refurbishment since pure gym took over from 27/7 fitness, with a new studio as well. Plus if you want you can have one to one personal training for an extra fee. Highly recommended.

Positive experience: Great gym for a great price! Only issue is that its basically a signal deadzone and it states on the webiste 'free wifi' But they dont offer wifi just Tesco Wifi that dosent work in the gym. But if your not woried about that then its a great gym and have great equipment!

Fantastic experience: Spacious, clean, big changing room and a lady's only area, good gym so far.
Negative experience: Either too cold or too hot - no AC but needs it. Cleaning stations twice found empty in every bottle which means not checked for ages. Often can't find staff member during staffed hours. Biggest issue is the restricted opening hours which the cost does not reflect.

Positive experience: Enjoyed my workout but really hot in the gym! Managed to get a bike in front of the fan but everywhere else was boiling. Good price for membership with the 0 pound joining fee!

Fantastic experience: Even for twice the price I paid I be still very happy to join this gym. Very spacious and well stocked. Changing rooms are clean/well presented. The fact it's in the Tescos shopping centre is a big win for parking, grabin last minute pre workout, protein bars and weekly shopping after training. I have only been once but after seeing all it has to offer I'd totally recommend Puregym.

Positive experience: I’ve been going to this specific gym on and off about a year, with myself really pushing myself April 2021, when they reopened, I think the gym is great, the staff are very friendly but there a couple big issues. 1. There is no aircon, I believe there was before lockdown but there’s none now, i understand due to air circulation but air con is very important. 2. The cleaning stations barely work, only 1 of the 4 disinfectant sprays work. 3. It’s always very busy. Now, i must say it’s a good price and if you are an average gym-goer, then this is perfect for you but for an advanced lifter, then there isn’t enough machines to progress, leading to longer waiting times.

Our team will also look into the issue with the cleaning stations. Our gyms are very popular and can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities. Negative experience: Good level of equipment and friendly staff, but closes at 4 o'clock on Saturday and falsely advertised as having air conditioning and free wi-fi. Wi-fi wouldn't be such a big problem if the gym was not a mobile signal dead spot.
Positive experience: Nice and spacious facility with friendly approachable staff. Just too hot, but that may be my furnace-like body... I seem to win the wet t-shirt competition every time I visit

Positive experience: Good facilities, Covid awareness with cleaning stations to disinfect equipment. Plenty of equipment and friendly staff.
Negative experience: Always boiling hot and extremely uncomfortable to be in. Considering Tesco has aircon and PureGym doesn't it's a bit of a joke to pay full price as the website says it has aircon. Also no WiFi for members which is also on the website! The actual equipment is good and lots of cleaning stations across the gym. It could be a decent gym but the lack of WiFi and Aircon ruins it.

Positive experience: Excellent equipment with socially distancing in place with boxes around equipment however, too busy even on a Sunday afternoon considering Covid. Having to wait to use equipment, is ridiculous.

Positive experience: Some equipment appears old even though the gym is quite new, open plan spacious allowing safe distancing, disinfectant not effective as you have to spray direct onto paper towel which soaks it up before wiping surface, spray bottles to use freely would benefit, shower doors not lockable,

Positive experience: Some equipment been left from previous gym and not properly fixed. I notified staff about wobbly equipment, they done nothing about. In previous gym i reported some faults and missing screws - nothing been done. So is no different now. Can't be bothered repeat my self anymore.

Staff do regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers and facilities team to ensure that if there are any issues they are resolved as soon as possible. We are equally disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers or specific resources to resolve the issue but will have everything back up-and-running as soon as it’s safely possible.

Negative experience: paying £220 i cant even use showers cuz changing room close at midnight plus Saturdays only open till 8 pm thats when i finish work scammers
Negative experience: False advertising. Its advertised from £14.99 per month.Great.But then under it it states £14.99 for the first month plus £15.00 joining fee.Then after one month it goes up to £19.99 per month.So the first month you actually pay £29.00 and then after £19.99 per month.So where does the £14.99 come into it ?.The gym it’s self is good,Cardio machines etc with 24hr access (Apart from Sunday’s).I would have given more stars but for me the advertising part let it down.
