Sleaford Leisure Centre

Negative experience: As a senior citizen and local rate paying resident I went to the leisure centre to see if I could join. The assistant showed me around but could not answer my questions regarding cost. She said my answers would be on the website. I duly went on the website to be met by a confused mess of jumbled information which omitted to mention cost. I learnt if I had refugee status I could get a concession also if I was junior. But an independent senior oap not claiming any benefit couldn't. After trying to phone them and being met by a wall of recorded messaging I gave up. The place repeats itself that it is a registered charity and my experience of such organisations is that it is a charity for the hierarchy on the payroll.

Fantastic experience: Great pool, great atmosphere, great temperature, great facilities

Negative experience: Cold baby's pool water, cold big pool, cold ventilation on.

Fantastic experience: Gym is clean and tidy, staff are friendly, couldn't ask for more!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant. Took my kids here Saturday and my knee went on me while I was in the pool with my 4yr old girl and 6yr old boy. The lifeguards and staff couldn't have helped me anymore than they did. They were absolutely fantastic. Thankyou so much.

Positive experience: 25% toddler swimming classes cancelled in past 5 months, forgetting some refunds for classes they've cancelled. No direct phone number to leisure centre. Water in pool often really cold and no heating in changing rooms.

Positive experience: Clean and 5 narrow lanes, quite shallow so good for learners but not for proper swimming but it is always warm , seems to have cut hours of late and prices are extortionate compared to similar public pools locally. Lincoln Yarbrough much better value.

Positive experience: My 3 year old said to me today, "I don't want to go swimming again. Its too cold". Toddler bit is good though but it's all to cold and there's no heating in the changing room.

Fantastic experience: For anyone wanting to access health and fitness you cannot do any better than to join sleaford swimming pool. Download the app and join i am sure it is one of the best, the pool is second to none and aqua fit class with Jack is such fun and you are getting fit .

Fantastic experience: A young male employee name of Thomas wong very kindly put 50p of his own money into the drinks machine for my friend because the machine didn't recognise or return the money she had put in,he didn't have to do this And my friend got her drink,,I hope the manager of the establishment notes that this young man is a credit to the business

Fantastic experience: hello the steam bath and sauna worked at the moment a few months ago it didn't work and now I want to know if the sauna and steam bath work

Negative experience: Visiting the area and fancied a swim. Upon arrival payed parking and found its bookings only, so visited the website to book and they split everything down to kids and adults so was unable to swim and wasnt going to wait around for an hour.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and a great swimming pool

Negative experience: A lovely pool but I am extremely angry that we are unable to reschedule a booking that has been paid for, we have cancelled due to having our child home sick. We have also found we are unable to get a refund. What an awful process. I would have been quite happy to make another appointment. Feedback will be very welcome.

Fantastic experience: Was the first time I have been back swimming since the start of covid. Had to book online. I am not very computer literate but it was not to difficult. Had to book a time slot. Got to pool staff very helpful and friendly. Answered all my questions. Changing rooms very clean floor was a little bit dirty just needed rubbing over. Lockers and showers easy to use. Got in pool it was lovely not cold. Was worried there would be to many people in but it was really nice. There was plenty of room. Overall experience excellent.

Positive experience: My experience of Sleaford Leisure centre is limited to swimming lessons for my daughter, but it's a pleasant place, centrally located with adjacent parking. The staff are friendly and helpful, the building is modern and clean.

Fantastic experience: I only use the pool, so cannot talk about the gym and other things. Put simply though, I think this is modern and great value. The pool is always the right temperature for me and the water clear. Compared to others I've used the pool sets the standard. Staff are always helpful and I love the fact the entrance is next to the river. Don't get me wrong there are better pools but you'll pay a fortune to use them. Sleaford is great value and really good.

Fantastic experience: I have started swimming again after many years of not doing so, I have back issues so decided to try it. I started as soon as the pool opened after lockdown and I was impressed with the friendly staff, the well organised covid safety, and the cleanliness of the facilities. I really can't find fault and you've made my trepidous return to swimming a comfortable experience.

Positive experience: On the whole the leisure centre is good. Parking is 70p per hour next door. Does get busy quickly.

Fantastic experience: This place is so great. It has amenities for all ages. Woodland splash play for the little ones. Family swim times. Swimming sessions for the more experienced. And is very clean and has great changing rooms and toilets.

Fantastic experience: I visited for the first time today to swim and was immediately impressed with how immaculately clean and well organised the centre was. The staff went over and above to help me out and after I'd swum I decided to become a member. Luke spent some time with me to help me do this and I was thrilled to receive a concession due to my occupation. Im new to the area and the staff were also able to recommend places of interest to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and am looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you for your help Luke! You're brilliant.

Positive experience: Excellent swim and well managed. However the exit through the back door is not good for disabled people and requires a long walk over quite rough ground.

Positive experience: Really overpriced but free duck food.

Negative experience: First time visiting, wasnt to pleased with how small the facilities were and not enough family changing rooms only 3 hair dryers as 1 was not in use, nobody motoring the spash area with slides had teenage kids been unsupervised with resulted in the younger babies/ up to 4yr getting knocked over and been to intimidated in there designated area, to much chlorine kids eyes were so red and sore when got out the pool. Big pool was far to cold and over crowded.

Fantastic experience: Everything Sleaford Leisure centre on the riverside off Boston Road is just simply brilliant I swim there several times a week and go to an excellent yoga session with Nancy on a Wednesday morning. Nancy is a wonderful teacher and I feel lucky to be able to go to her sessions. I have epilepsy and the life guards are attentitve and thoughtful of me. Although I have never had a siezure at the centre, it is obvious that the life guards are aware and without being over cautious are clearly observant as they are to all the swimmers and people who attend the leisure centre. The staff are all friendly, kind and welcoming, every one of them. I feel that we are truly lucky to have such a brilliant facility in Sleaford. I just want to say keep doing what you are doing because it is first class and many thanks Catherine

Fantastic experience: I've not been going here long, but I love it. The centre is well equipped, I always find it clean and tidy, the equipment is varied and well maintained and the facilities are very good. However its the staff that make this place - they are a great team, very friendly, knowledgeable and inspiring. Particular shout outs to Jennie, Becky, Sam, Karly, Chris, Jack and Tom and the other team members that make the place what it is. Keep up the great work everyone!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the Sleaford Leisure Centre Gym for around six months now, The gym has just had a refit with brand new machines - its really well equipped. The staff at the leisure centre are absolutely brilliant, they are friendly, knowledgeable and provide positive instruction and feedback. I enjoy going to the gym, apart from helping me to achieve my goals in relation to fitness, it is a really friendly place, the other members are great, help to provide motivation and are happy to engage in friendly banter, for me - its also a social experience. The classes at the gym are excellent, there are a wide range of activities to suit most people. I regularly attend box fit, group cycle, core stability, yoga, swim fit and step. There are other classes I haven't tried yet, but all are well worth checking out with very positive feedback from people who participate. The classes really demonstrate in a practical way just how brilliant all the instructors are: Swimming at the Leisure Centre is also excellent, clean facilities, enough lockers. great showers. The sauna and steam rooms are also available if needed. There is a separate area available for the little ones. The swimming classes for kids are also great. So yes - attending is a positive experience, Reception staff are brilliant and there is even an app you can use to book onto classes , its really easy to use. I'd recommend joining 100%

Negative experience: Really unhappy with the organisation. I used to think that 1Life were poor, Better have created a new level of bad customer service. We have been given conflicting instructions from different staff members about booking places. It's not that difficult Better if you actually cared about your staff it would show, you clearly don't, very poor.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym, been using the gym for 2 years now and never had any issues, I usually go in after work or early morning on Fridays and always able to get my workouts done. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Queue for everything! If you think getting an anytime membership means you can go when you want and pop for a quick swim after then you are mistaken, there's that many classes and clubs you have to fit round, the gym for some bizarre reason keeps taking on memberships yet isn't much bigger than a couple of living rooms, you end up sat waiting for the leg press because some kid is sat fiddling about with facebook for half an hour between sets, there's no room to use the free weights and there's limited machines for your cardio. If like me you have a mon-fri 9-5 and a family you have absolutely had it! queue to get any of the gym facilities, queue until the swimming classes have finished and just the other night I found myself queueing even to get into a shower cubicle! On top of the devastatingly inconvenient provisions they charge the same as you might pay at a real gym? Then to top off everything the place closes early at the weekend! Honestly if you haven't retired yet and cant dedicate your training to during the day (albeit the pool isn't being used by any of the schools) then this place isn't fit for purpose, if you do find yourself able to go swimming then forget about doing it for fitness reasons as it gets too full and you are constantly unable to swim in lengths uninterrupted! I am waiting until April where the management is changing and hoping to cancel my membership which is a shame because I live so near.

Positive experience: Nice little gym, would like it to open a little earlier so i can go before work though

Positive experience: This venue has never been big enough to House a pool and a gym when the modernisation was done it was a waste of resources in my opinion as if anything space was lost and then came the mixed sex changing rooms. Ideally it would be nice to of made this building 2 storey and housed the gym etc upstairs. Then to add several other water experiences like jacuzzis etc.

Negative experience: Maintenance on equipment is very poor which is of no benefit when you are paying monthly membership

Fantastic experience: The lifeguards are very nice and it is so clean, you don't have to wait for toilets, hairdryers or showers really it's awesome.

Negative experience: I rang and ask if the pool was open to the public on a sunday for Adults and Children..the reply i got was yes open for all to use all day..the time of the call was 11 a.m I said thankyou see you very soon..we left Boston got there for 11.35 the female at the reception said only choldren til 12..giving us 20 minutes roughly to use the pool.. Not very good customer services in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: The changing rooms, shower facilities and pool are extremely clean. People are friendly and there are lifeguards monitoring the pool. Good for a family day out/in or for swimmers in the evening.

Positive experience: Love the pool but dirty water.the debris floating around in deep end and laying on the bottom of the pool is visible at each visit.

Positive experience: Pretty small pool and the centre refuses to put out more than 1 lane even during lap sessions.
