Positive experience: Seemingly no one answering the phone, ever

Positive experience: For anyone checking, the swimming lessons are still running today (Easter Sunday) - we just called and confirmed.

Fantastic experience: Love it here all the staff are fab Leanne and Sue are super and always say hello and have a chat and Heather on the reception always greets us with a smile and a giggle but they are all great here.

Negative experience: I love the pool and the lifeguards but sadly the admin team are manipulative and out to scam money from disabled. Set me up a membership I didn't need when I can apperently pay per visit. Then said cancelled the membership for three months running while taking the money. Now refusing to cancel and trying to issue more charges and trying to insist I go through extra admin steps despite my disabilities preventing me.

Fantastic experience: A bit cool water but once you're in, it's fine. Staff are very nice and helpful. Great for school trips/ PE classes.

Positive experience: This place is not bad. The changing rooms are not bad the gym and the shower rooms.

Fantastic experience: Has 2 pools, a shallow one and a deep one. It also has a gym upstairs. Changing rooms and showers for the pool. Very cheap if visiting for swimming.

Fantastic experience: Just signed up up for the free 7 day trial, swim & gym. Facilities are brilliant, very clean, staff very helpful.

Negative experience: Son refuses to go swimming with school due to the bottom of pool being dirty changing rooms being dirty causing him to get verrucas n warts so he stopped going and didn't have them goes for the first time in ages and gets a varuka

Negative experience: Review pending !!! It's supposed to be a swimming academy, well it's more like a money-making organisation. This place is very dirty... it does not get cleaned!!!! A splash of the pool water on the floors is NOT cleaning!!! The changing rooms and shower areas are never wiped down. The showers are dirty. I have pictures to confirm the same marks on the changing room doors for over 4 weeks . I have now pulled my kids out of this place. Also note... YOU DO NOT GET 30 MINS OF SWIMMING... AFTER THE CHANGE OVER YOU GET AROUND 25 MINS OR SWIMMING This has been timed and bought to the attention of the reception staff. Who simply replied : that is what it is. Great answer. Avoid this place at all costs.

Negative experience: Shocking still having to book online was unable to book online then told we had to wait 3 hours

Positive experience: Love this place. Only so swimming and currently recovering from surgery and missing it like crazy. All the staff are so helpful. Lifeguard Ashley is the one that gave me the encouragement to go so frequently. I have now managed to build that up with completing my first 2miles that I managed before going into hospital. Now just need to hurry up and recover so I can get back to this brilliant place and get the last few lbs off to hit my 4 stone target. If you are in any doubt about joining, I would say just try it for a couple of times a week and you will be hooked

Fantastic experience: Small, however sophisticated gym is what I can say by my..(don't mentioned it).. just 3 visits ( : I never been in a gym in my life before, but I do appreciate that works till 10PM I'll change my review when I'll be able to say more.

Positive experience: Unfortunately pool changing rooms often smell of urine. That said, the pool and gym are clean, as are gym changing rooms. Ample lockers (both the storage and changing room kind), all staff helpful and friendly. Nice range of equipment too. In an update to my original review, there are in fact several sheffield stands for bicycle parking, but only one obvious. The others are to the side of the access ramp in front of the building.

Fantastic experience: GREAT swimming baths. The swimming instructors are so very friendly & show outstanding patience and encouragement with the people they teach. My 5 year old adores Joy, who’s SUPERB in every lesson our son has attended. Thank you so very much

Negative experience: My most bad experience in this gym. I have done 2 month and correctly pay 30 monthly just to be flexible to leave any time I want. But the policy of this gym it’s to give them one month notice even if not have any contract with them. So, example, if you wanna do a gym for only one month you have to pay 2 month, because you have to give them 30 days before notice. That’s is very bad. So in 2 month in this gym I pay 120 . 30 for the membership 60 for the 2 month of the gym and 30 because I didn’t give 30 before notice that I wanna leave.

Fantastic experience: Depends what you are looking for. Has various activities which require booking. A timetable, important to check before going to avoid disappointment. There are set times daily for lane and leisure swimming every day different.

Not only did they make sure she was out the pool and was making sure she was OK a very big thank you to everyone who was involved with her today your kindness and support was very good and you are a credit to yourselves and once again a big thank you from myself and her mum

Negative experience: Pool is OK, they keep investing money into it which is good. Took my daughters here for swimming lessons for a few years. Very hit and miss on teachers. Some teachers are brilliant but they don't seem to stay very long before they move on. They have a few good teachers and then others you can tell dont want to be there. They don't smile or interact with the children they just send them up and down, shich is fine as they get older but when their young they need to enjoy the lesso . It ended up being a chore trying to get them to attend the lessons. One teacher spent most of the lesson chatting to the lifeguards. Would not recommend for lesson. But fine for a swim.

Positive experience: Staff very friendly, receptionist excellent very professional, changing rooms nice a little compact, pool very nice looks new, lanes way to tight for me, a big let down and NO FINS ALLOWED, how ridiculous how are you supposed to train!?!?...

Fantastic experience: Great place. Last week they changed to booking online as it was getting to busy. Price has gone up and its only an hour swim in the family pool at certain times. Will still keep going with or 4 year old. You can be a member which also cover water meadows aswel

Fantastic experience: I started coming here when I was around 4 in around 2004/5 I think when it was Sheerwood Baths, In the baby pool with Joy, then went on to the adult pool with Angie when it was Rebecca Adlington swimming Centre, they sorted out us going to a different venue while the remodel was happening too. I must’ve been swimming here for around 10 years doing lessons and, without tooting my own horn, I’m one of the best swimmers I know thanks to my teachers. Angie and Joy were absolutely amazing, great teachers, and great with the parents that came to watch. I made a friend for life here, and passed all of my badges up to 5000M, including Personal Survival. I’m unsure what it’s like here now as I’m pretty sure Angie is on reception now (I think), however I have nothing at all bad to say about this place from my experience, it was my favourite day of the week coming to my lessons on a Saturday morning :)

Fantastic experience: Went there once or twice in the 1980s! And once again in 2015 .... And the best thing about it all ....it still looks exactly like what it did in the 1980s! Well after modern upgrades it almost does! Ps i was there in mansfield town centre back in 2008 for the big rebecca adlington swimming sensation celebrations!!

Fantastic experience: This centre has swimming and gym facilities. The changing rooms for the swimming pool are clean and there is a good sized 25m pool and a smaller learner pool. The timetable means on a weekday you have to go between 6pm - 7pm but you can go on the mornings on the weekend. The gym is small but has a lot of equipment, it doesn't get too busy luckily. I pay £25 per month for both which is quite good value.

Positive experience: 2 pools one with a ramp to get in and out the water, is not deep 0.8 mt warm water. The fitness pool 25mt is well organized if you struggling to get in and out using the stairs , they have a hoist. Staff are absolutley wonderful, they answered all my question and helped me to feel safe. One thing is call the reception to make sure you can use the pool before you attend the pool. The timetable is not reliable. Changing room is mixed male and female but is full of cubicles with doors, just be aware.

Positive experience: Nice to be back open, but no toilets or showers is not really acceptable for a sporting venue. Shops have toilets open .

Fantastic experience: Really lovely pool, plenty of parking and friendly stafc

Positive experience: Nice pool well organised, book on line, come costume ready under clothing, take outer clothes off by side of pool . 3 lanes swim in same directions the lanes are set up for each level of swimmer. No showering. But bring your towel dry in a private cubicle dress and leave. Face masks worn throughout building when not in the pool.

Negative experience: The facilities are very good, however, the teachers are not. Our children have been coming here for 2 years now and haven't really progressed very much. Initially it seemed pretty good and they were out of arm bands and swimming to some degree fairly quickly. They moved up a class and since then haven't got any better or any more confident in there swimming. The teacher that they currently have is useless, she shouts instructions and just leaves the kids to it, there's little or no "teaching" involved at all.The kids are just left to struggle along from end of the pool the the other. We will be moving to another pool.

Fantastic experience: When i was in year 3 back in the 90s i saw that this swimming centre baffled me when i started swimming then now i am a best swimmer

Negative experience: Both our children have attended since they were less than a year old, never had any issues and always left their lessons to their instructors, however problems started around a year ago. Both children of different ages, different classes didn't seem to be developing very quickly I spoke with other parents at a swimming club that our son attended for the past 18 months who seemed shocked especially with his performance in the swimming club. I've since been online and registered to the Mansfield District Council Rebecca Adlington membership page which tracks your childrens performance and achievements. OMG this recording was months/years out of date!!, complete courses missing, attendance records inaccurate, not by a lesson but by months and even years. This was challenged with two different managers, swimming instructors, and given a couple of months to resolve. I've just now logged on to see my daughters records which are even worse. The management told me the system is not fit for purpose and they are waiting for something new... In the meantime there's no accurate records for achievements to see how your kids are progressing but you keep attending paying money out month on month. As thus we are taking both children elsewhere where I've seen swimming teachers in action, had recommendations and seen their recording procedures.

Fantastic experience: Great Swimming Centre. We visited the centre for the first time as my daughter has just enrolled for swimming lessons. I was really impressed with the friendly helpful staff, quality of teaching and general cleanliness of all facilities. Would definitely recommend:-)

Negative experience: I came with a school as a helper and was very disappointed in what I saw, my son was in the pool in a group with a male teacher, he had been coming swimming with school for quite a few weeks now and was surprised that when we went swimming ourselves he had not really progressed, but I now know why, watching as he had his lesson he swam 1 width and fetched a rubber ring from the bottom if the pool, the teacher wasn't even watching and my son picked the ring up with his foot not knowing really what he was meant to do, the teacher didn't even see it as he was chatting with another colleague. He will not learn to swim at this pool, I know this now, it was a waste if time! Why are people in these sort of jobs? I have no idea
