Negative experience: Gym one has always been a little rough but it was clean. Since the new owners have taken over the cleanliness of the gym is disgusting. There's regularly litter on the floor. The carpets are not being vacuumed properly like they used too. The mirrors are dirty. The shower facilities clearly aren't being cleaned properly. The mens toilet facilities have been reduced from 2 urinals and a toilet to just one toilet now so regularly find yourself queing to use the toilet. This isn't being cleaned regularly either. The floor is always soaking wet and dirty, no idea if im just standing in water or urine. Clear evidence of brick/building dust around where the facilities have not been cleaned properly after works have take place. The treadmills and other cv equipment are covered in dust and dirt and clearly aren't being cleaned regularly. The policy on putting your weights away after use isn't being policed or enforced. There's regularly dumbbells and plates all over the place whilst the staff are chatting to their mates and not showing due care for the gym. The music volume and type of music changed drastically after the new take over too. At peaks times people will be shouting at each other to have a conversation over the loud volume of the music. The owner comes in and the volume goes down, the owner leaves it goes right back up. The young staff members are immature and irresponsible. I've never seen behaviour like it in a gym from a staff member before. This gym is now nothing like it was under previous management and its just going downhill in my opinion. If you don't care for cleanliness or a professional attitude then it's a great gym for equipment. Provided your happy to waste time looking for the equipment you want. This is the only reason I've given two stars instead of one as theres a good weight training selection. Given its now been rebranded gym one fittness im surprised to see lots investment into the weights side of gym and the cv equipment diminish in numbers. Quite frankly I expect alot better knowing how the gym has been run for the many years I've been a member. I've now cancelled my membership and taken my business elsewhere.

Positive experience: An old school gym which does the job. I used this gym for a few years and it was a good gym to use. It’s not the biggest gym and quite small in size so when it’s busy it can be very crowded in there and you may find yourself waiting for machines for a while if you’ve got a body part in mind to train that day; it can throw you off your routine a bit as it stops your rhythm slightly but it is what it is. There’s limited locker space and there is limited parking. Now to the good points, the staff is very helpful and very friendly. The gym is used by regulars who are all friendly and supportive and the machines and equipment is decent, the machines are old but work efficiently and fine don’t let this put you off. The reception has a fridge and makes shakes at good prices if needed and also will hold your keys for you for safe keeping. The community here is good, you can literally leave your phone by accident somewhere and find it in the same spot an hour later it’s crazy you won’t find that anywhere else. Overall, I’ve given it a 3/5, would be a 5 but size is an issue and parking is limited with four or five spaces only but it is cheap, efficient, friendly and does the job. Go for it

Fantastic experience: Cardio equipment in front and weight room in the back. Olympic Lifting platform and squat racks with plenty of weights. They have a plate loaded log that you have to request as it's chained up. All the weightlifting or powerlifting equipment you could ask for available for £4.20 visit free or monthly membership.

Fantastic experience: very good gym..havent been in a while and have now put on weight after having a child but love this gym and will be coming back ..very friendly staff and people Edit: Great gym but really need to sort out the BS that is parking attendants hired for events next door thinking they own the place and stopping people from getting in to park in the gym spots,also not stopping people that are attending the events parking in the few spots the gym does have. There is literally zero parking when events are on next door (which is every weekend) and as seen this week on the Thursday and Friday too, you basically can't go to the gym unless you get public transport or walk, you will lose customers over this.

Fantastic experience: Old school training. Real weights, real people. Amazing level of respect amongst all members new and old to the point of feeling like part of a large family all of whom will look after each other. Nothing ever gets stolen (I've left my £900 phone on machines multiple times and forgot, then an hour later it's either still there or been handed to reception). If you're looking to do bodybuilding, strongman, powerlifting or just general physique improvement then this is the place to be as experienced members will happily share advice and tips to help you up your game. Personally wouldn't want to train any where else locally. Give it a try. Maybe start of a 3 month membership and see how you get on. I'm sure you'll love it whether male or female.

Positive experience: Convenient and has no extra frills, just a little community type gym. Friendly and accommodating staff. Under new ownership as of a few months ago (2023), seem to be going through some refurbishment.

Positive experience: Good lifting platform for Olympic lifts and other strength related training. Cardio equipment adequate but could do with a refresh. Been coming here for years as for me it's the best gym in the area for heavy lifting.
