Fantastic experience: This is a very friendly gym, the staff are so welcoming. It is probably fair to say though the equipment is a tad tired. It needs a refurbish in 2025 as I've notice the William Penn site recently had one done. I like the place, home from home.

Fantastic experience: Found this little gem. We use the training pool and I have to say it's lovely and warm, perfect for little ones. The staff are very friendly, they have disabled access to both pools. They have plenty of classes available for everyone for all abilities. The changing rooms are always very clean and warm. Hair dryers are available and free to use. Plenty of parking which is also free

Fantastic experience: We started using South Oxhey Leisure Centre when Harrow Leisure Centre closed its pool for repairs. The South Oxhey Leisure Centre has a spacious car park, friendly, polite and professional staff, a well equipped gym, a very clean pool and excellent changing and shower areas. The centre itself is very clean.

Positive experience: Playing 2 sessions of badminton only at centre for the moment. Smaller centre than some. Clean and tidy. Booking via App or with friendly, helpful Reception staff. Car park can get very busy as small. Street parking seems okay although again quite crowded. Trying out other facilities in due course and will update.

Fantastic experience: This is newly built Leisure centre with Gym, Swimming Pool and Badminton courts. They have enough parking and clean changing rooms.

Negative experience: Please get another rope for the cable machines, the only one we have is falling apart, it looks like a pack of dogs had their way with it Edit: it's getting worse and the shoulder press handle still hasn't been fixed in multiple months.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to give a massive shout out to the staff at south oxhey leisure centre. Especially the swimming manager Elle. She went above and beyond to help my autistic 5 year old son with his first ever swimming lessons. I honestly can't thank her enough and the rest of the staff and swimming teachers there. They are absolutely amazing!!!

Positive experience: Good place for learning to swim for kids and plenty of parking. Only annoying part for me is that the coaches keep changing every few months.

Negative experience: This gym is not what it used to be…i am a member since the beginning. Is overcrowded, no space to stretch, dirty windows and floor (mud) There are 8 treadmills, 5 are faulty all the time. The equipment in general is in poor state….

Negative experience: Been twice with my daughter swimmimg and both times we were shouted at to not go in the deep end because they judged us to be "not confident" swimmers without even talking to us. We noticed they choose who they can pick on and shout at. Do Not Recommend.

Negative experience: Hello Everyone team, I am writing here my request considering that it's practically impossible to write you through your website. Which is very disappointing. In particular because as you can see from the picture attached, on three rowing machines 2 are broken. The first one on the left now it's more than one year that is there to get the dust because it's broken. Instead, the one on the right is broken now for one week. In addition, during the last week was impossible to clean the machines because the detergent is finished. Therefore, I let you to imagine how machineries stink of sweat. Can you do something asap? Fantastic experience: Very good everyone active where the staff actually trained and friendly compared to the rest I have been to. Facilities are a bit small, around 3x smaller than Harrow Leisure centre but much cleaner and more working machines.

Negative experience: Beyond disappointed. Paid £151 for 6 PT sessions. I was promised the support I needed to get back to exercising after dealing with severe anxiety and depression. The PT got in touch to ask for my availability and never heard back from him again. Contacted the gym, but they never responded. Gym is super small, so if you are struggling with anxiety, this is not the place to exercise. It can be packed so it is hard to focus on your work out with so many people in your close proximity.

Negative experience: Do not go this leisure centre, as staff members are very racist amd un professinal. Very bad experience. Waste of time. Even in gym area, some of the equipments are not working. There is not enough cubical in changing area. Not worth it.

Negative experience: My 3 year old daughter started with her swim lessons at this centre. Although the centre is clean and so are the changing area and swimming pool but the swim teacher taking classes on Friday evening for preschool sessions was a disappointment. On my daughter's first day she started off being quite impolite and rushed with my girl. The second session she told my daughter when she was crying (as I was told to be in the watching room and my daughter wanted me to be close by) that she has a headache. Not sure why she had to say this to a crying child instead of trying to make the session comfortable for her. Definitely not going back because of the teacher. The centre should really check on their staff especially those who are spending time with such young kids. My daughter is very fluent in talking and understanding and she told me that the teacher was not good with her which I noticed as well. I really was looking forward to have my daughter learn swimming and I knew it can take a few weeks for them to be comfortable but if the swim teacher wa good this would not have happened.

Positive experience: My kids come here for swimming lessons. Both thoroughly enjoy their sessions and are making progress. Pools are a decent size. Class sizes are small enough for the teacher to give each pupil enough attention and help. Like the viewing gallery so we can watch how the kids are performing and learning. Parking available on site and in the public roads around the centre. My partner is a member and he has to book slots to go swimming so I don’t think you can just turn up and jump in. Staff are helpful and friendly. Will look into the classes they offer for the future.

Fantastic experience: This leisure centre is beautiful, recently built. Plenty of gated secured parking spaces. In addition, there are a lot of road side parking ️ spaces around the centre, which is very convenient. There are 2 large pools, 1 for kids and the other main pool for everyone. The facilities are well maintained and the staff members are friendly. The swimming instructors are efficient and professional.

Negative experience: How they’ve stolen £360 from my bank account. I signed up for a gym membership for my wife, but we had to cancel after just one month due to a long trip. We called to cancel over the phone, but after a few months, the gym closed for renovations and we were not charged anything during that time. However, when the gym reopened, we were billed again, and this continued for almost a year, even though we had cancelled our subscription and never used the gym. Despite making several complaints, we were unable to get our money back. Overall, our experience with this gym membership has been extremely frustrating. The company's policy appears to be focused on taking as much money as possible from customers, without any concern for their satisfaction. We were charged for a service we did not use, and our complaints were ignored. If you are considering signing up for this gym membership, I would recommend avoiding it. The company's lack of transparency and poor customer support make it a risky choice. In my opinion, a good company should prioritize their customers and communicate clearly regarding their billing and cancellation policies. In conclusion, this gym membership has been a disappointment, causing us stress and financial burden. I hope that the company takes steps to improve their policies and customer support, so that others do not have to go through a similar experience.

Negative experience: Disappointing. I have cancelled my membership. I feel it is a rip off and I would suggest to anyone thinking about joining to check it out more thoroughly than I did. I have wasted £75!! I don't have a car to get to other centres easily. It is expensive for what you get. No formal weight training equipment induction (I hurt my shoulder) and poor cardio equipment selection in gym (there is only 1 working bike available and 2 of the 3 rowing machines have loose parts and feel unsafe). It is difficult to maintain social distancing which I need to do. There is poor selection and times of face to face classes which are incredibly difficult to book (for any nearby centers like Watford and hatch end not just here) and often have a huge waiting list (perhaps it is easier if you pay the extra £9.99 a month and can book 2 weeks ahead but I can't afford that). Too many virtual classes which are not used and not enough face to face classes. The Art group price is not included in the membership. Cleanliness is good and staff are friendly. If you want to use the cafe it is not manned and you need to ask at reception.

Positive experience: Only just started going, but liking it so far. Staff I've spoken to have been helpful and the gym equipment is cleaned and tidy. My son really enjoyed the family swim too.

Negative experience: Staff are never welcoming, classes always full and not enough life guards, so they keep closing the pool (last minute).

Fantastic experience: I would like give thanks and recognition to the lady who cleans your pool changing area, toilets and showers. As a regular Lane swimmer at the South Oxhey Leisure Centre, I have witnessed, first hand, how she tirelesssly maintains a high standard of cleanliness. Considering the volume of adults and children that frequent the pool each week, this must be a full-time process. In addition, she has always been polite and friendly, taking a genuine interest in my welfare following a major spinal procedure earlier this year. Similarly, when I have used the upstairs ladies changing room for my 5 visits per week to the gym, I have also been impressed with the standard of cleanliness. Fantastic experience: Nice warm baby pool, went with 4 kids from ages ranging 3 years to 5 years and they had a blast in both pools. Showers could be cleaner but changing rooms and other facilities were great. Showers were warm.

Positive experience: Review is purely based on Badminton courts. Played for the first time in Oxhey and courts are just ok, but not great comparing to similar facilities in and around Watford and Rickmansworth. Staffs were polite and Parking was easy. Issue is that they squeezed in two courts in to the space which is a bit tight. The spacing between the side box and side walls are less than or close to a meter. Space between backside box and walls are possibly less than 1.5m or so. If someone walks past your court, you literally have to stop playing or at least that's what happened to us. Maybe we are not used to the court.

Positive experience: I have only used their swimming pool facilities for my son. So far so good. The facilities are cleaned and in good order. The staff is really good. I prefer going to this over Harrow leisure Center. The only thing I don't like is that everyone has made leisure swimming inaccessible which is only available on weekends. Not in the evening as they only have classes and lane swimming throughout the day and evenings.

Negative experience: Parking barrier was not answered by the staff so have to wait for long queue to get out from the parking area.

Negative experience: My very expensive electric scooter got stolent in this brach’s monitored (cctv) parking. Well-locked, huge, was stolen 5 min before I left swimming class. I went straight to the manager and as he was engaged in a conversation, I told some other staff that my scooter has just been stolen and I need them to watch the cctv. I have been told to wait for the manager to end his conversation which was long anyway. He called the police after watching cctv (I was not allowed to see the cctv). After the police officer opened the case, he came back for the cctv recording, but the leisure had not saved the recording at all, therefore, I lost the proof. They also had the fingerprinta of the guy, I had pictures of his face holding my scooter as I found him in the town, but unfortunately, when I rang police, I have been told to go home because I am in danger. I have sent all the proofs and still no one done anything. Moreover, the Leisure did not even offer to provide me with a discount or free month due to this situation. I liked visit that leisure, but not anymore. Very disappointed! Be careful with your belongings! They donnot give a s**t about them! No matter how safe they might be..

Fantastic experience: Hazel is cheerful and alway happy to help. Most staff I come across are respectful (except a few). If there is a challenge Hazel will always try her best resolve things for you. She is the main for this five star rating.. everything else in the leisure centre is fine - swimming pool water temperature is warm enough, gym classes and the main gym is well maintained.
