Negative experience: First of all, £13.10 for two people swimming is extortionate, and definitely not worth the experience. Second, I was swimming with my boyfriend and my 9-year-old brother, hoping to improve my brother’s swimming technique. When I swam away from the two of them I was approached by a lifeguard (male, curly mullet, glasses), who told me to keep it in my pants, and that there was a film of a substance over the pool because of me. I am revolted by the manners of the staff. I think there should be some training in customer service, and what not to say to paying customers. When I swim I prefer not to be objectified.

Fantastic experience: Great cycling class, brill teacher and funky music

Negative experience: Don't bother reading the website for times as it's not up-to-date. Parties and other things can be booked but only when you turn up do you find out. Happened at least twice. Thanks for wasting my time.

Fantastic experience: A lovely leisure centre comprising of sparkling swimming pools and other sporting amenities. Also has a coffee shop which also stocks swim suits, goggles and other paraphernalia. Lots of parking but be aware that paying for it is a cumbersome affair!

Positive experience: A bit pricey for a council leisure centre, but good facilities and helpful staff

Fantastic experience: I have recently joined primarily to use the gym. I have never been there before so first times for me can be a little daunting. I was shown round the gym by Richard who was wonderful. He showed me how to use the equipment I have never used before and really put me at ease. I now go most days and love it here. It’s never been overly busy and has a nice mix of people. You don’t feel under pressure to be the best and can do it all at your own speed. The facilities are good and I will be going to the swimming pool soon. I would recommend this gym to anyone thanks guys

Fantastic experience: I recently took out a membership at the leisure centre and was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the price was. The gym is reasonably equipped and has everything I need. It is also not intimidating, unlike some gyms. I would definitely recommend to anyone starting out or recommencing their fitness journey.

Negative experience: Shocking service when trying to book courts over phone. Rarely manned and often now answer at all

Positive experience: Great place for a swim. Awesome place if you want to swim in a proper old school deep pool! The shallow end isn't very shallow and it gets pretty deep quickly, then drops off a cliff.

Negative experience: Really enjoyed the adult swimming lessons at the start. Until we had to share our session with the ‘adult improvers’ who took over the pool. So now you can’t swim a width to practice. I sent in a complaint and had no reply. A lot of the ladies also feel the same way as me and another rang and told the leisure centre her opinion. Another thing you need to know is one of the male instructors comes out with comments like ‘don’t mind them they’re only women’ like we were in the way and ‘I’ve heard they do better if you chuck them in the deep end’ it might be funny to him but it wasn’t to us especially when your feeling nervous and anxious anyway and you’re trying your best to learn that male chauvinists comments are not helpful at all. My advice to adult swimmers who are not confident is find somewhere else because you will not improve here. They also use the beginners side of the pool for assessments so you’d be lucky to get the half of the pool for your beginner group. I am extremely disappointed and I feel worse about swimming now then I did when I started.

Positive experience: A very good gym. Very spacious with a wide range of training machines

Negative experience: Didn't agree with swim teacher sending parents out of the pool when we could have sat poolside. Daughters just wanted us to be near to them. Children can't touch the bottom in the shallow end and lacked confidence. One daughter ended up abandoning the lesson. We didn't continue the lessons after that. NOT GOOD

Fantastic experience: A good sized pool for a proper swim, nice and clean and the individual showers are great too.

Fantastic experience: Had a good swim, water was a bit cold, but diving for the rubber brick with my pyjamas on soon warmed me up.Unfortunately there was a floater in the pool which I accidentally kicked, luckily I had a verruca sock on. The staff dealt with it quickly and professionally. All the staff are helpful & polite & I would recommend this leisure centre.

Fantastic experience: 50+ aerobics classes are fabulous, really missed these classes Lynsey the instructor is brilliant and it feels really Safe was a bit apprehensive at first but am glad I have gone back , love it

Negative experience: Not been for nearly 30 years, it's not moved on much. The publicity photos show a bright and airy pool, I think when I went they'd forgotten to turn on the lights??? Confusing changing rooms, old pool, dark and drab. Nearly a pound more than we Etwall......that's without adding in parking! Paying to park, paying to swim....I won't be back!

Positive experience: Swimming gym facilities as you would expect. Very small shop (corner of the reception area) for swimwear, replacement squash balls etc. Staff are always friendly. Price per visit is a little high but you can get memberships that make it more affordable - value will depend on how often you go. Pay & display parking outside.

Fantastic experience: Lots of sporty activities including a swimming pool for fun on Saturdays aswell as lessons. There is a sports hall and a gym, an indoor cycling room and much more. I come every week for activities and it's a great centre!

Positive experience: It's a local leisure centre so it's not the Ritz but it's OK. It has a variety of different activities going on through the week. The gym is reasonably well equipped and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: Nice leisure centre with good facilities and a large number of activities that are each available regularly. Swimming pool and changing rooms are both of a high standard and are always very clean, with individual and family changing cubicles available.

Fantastic experience: Recently refurbished changing rooms and gymnasium. Lots of activities and a decent sized pool. Reasonable charges even for non-members.

Positive experience: Easy accessible for activities. The Scuba diving club which meets on a Thursday @ 8pm is a very friendly club whose members are keen to share their enthusiasm for the watery world beneath the surface.

Fantastic experience: Clean and tidy. Swimming pool changing rooms very smart. You remove your shoes before entering the changing rooms, which means the floor is fairly clean. Reasonable price too.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever!! So during the six weeks holidays they decide to have an over 60's swim time for a couple of hours before dinner!! I ask you how stupid and then you try explaining to a 6 year old who is on holiday in the area that she can't go swimming but the little old grannies can!! The reception staff were about as much help as a poke in the eye! I wouldn't mind but I'd only just ploughed £3 into the parking machine for no reason now!!! Worst public service every...unfortunately I can't give less than one star!!
