Negative experience: Lovely Staff ….but… Ridiculous opening times ….gym should be available to train from at least 6.30 every morning, ideally 6 am like most gyms and 8am on a Saturday is so late to open up all those people who can’t get their morning workout in then means we have to face to scrum after work , making the gym so so busy at peak times I dread going. Pay the staff extra to open up early and relieve the pressure on the evenings please!!!!

Negative experience: I took my daughter there for a birthday party. I had my 4 year old son with me. Today is the day just after the worst rainy day. When i saw soft play area i was so happy and thought my son can play there while daughter is in the pool. Asked the staff if the play area is open they said no it’s closed at 5 o’clock on Saturdays.I went and waited in the car with my son and came back after an hour and saw other people’s children are playing in the soft play area. I felt awful as feeling the racism at a leisure centre. My children are already member of leisure centre always go to Woodbridge and Felixstowe leisure centre But very disappointed with Leiston Leisure Centre! Nice pool and building but weak trained staff

Positive experience: Son is a junior member of the gym, too often the guy who looks after it dose not turn up so sessions cancelled but no refund or stand in put in place.

Fantastic experience: I paid for a day pass for the gym at just over £10. Payment was a quick process so I could start using the equipment straight away. The gym is well equipped and everything works well. There is even a ski-mill.

Positive experience: Modern building and facilities. Well kitted out for a small town like Leiston. Gym and pool both good.

Negative experience: Really disappointed in the fact that they do not tell you when you sign up if they try debit your account and the transaction doesn’t go through straight away they will fine you £20. Even the staff at the gym did not know about this. It’s really terrible

Positive experience: There are too many cardio machines in the gym and not enough free weights. Even at peak times, around 30%-50% of the cardio machines are unoccupied, whereas there are queues for the weight equipment, especially the barbells, squat racks, benches, dumbbells, and pull-up station. Having the wrong numbers of equipment is a common problem and this gym is no exception- but it could be! Why not sell a few cardio machines and use the cash to buy more weights? Other than this imbalance in equipment, the gym and pool are both very good. At least get more barbells because last time I visited THERE WERE ONLY 2 STRAIGHT BARBELLS IN THE ENTIRE GYM PLEASE END MY SUFFERING AND BUY SOME MORE

Positive experience: Gym has been refurbished and is miles better as well as facilities. Some staff are a little rude and judgy but can't say that for all of them just some of the younger ones at reception.

Positive experience: I used the gym, quite busy with various age groups, which is nice to see. Centre itself was heaving - swimming lessons clearly resumed! Positive use is pleasing.

Fantastic experience: GREAT FRIENDLY GYM

Positive experience: Pretty much does what it says on the can! Some of the equipment in the gym could be renewed or fixed..such as the wattbike with handlebars that can't be tightened. But overall still happy to come here.

Positive experience: Brilliant for toddler and small child swimming but soft play area too expensive for its size.

Fantastic experience: Clean and modern pool with great changing facilities for families and non-families. We went to a fun swim and there were lots of things available for the kids to play on. I was with my partner and his children. It was perfect that we didn't have to choose between his girls changing solo or in the men's facilities. Also a lovely touch to have organic sanitary products available free of charge in the loos.

Negative experience: They can't keep the thermal suit going, the saunas not hot enough and the steam room is a slimly room that's no where near the temperature a STEAM room should be

Positive experience: Old dirty exercise machines, Vending should be predominantly healthy. Better cold water dispenser needed.

Positive experience: Really nice Leisure centre to go to. Would have given it a 5 star rating but the seated bench press has been out of action since October, and now since Christmas the health sweet hot or cold shower is out of order. For the amount of money that my wife and I pay per month, these items ought to be fixed and usable much quicker. Come on management sort it please. Otherwise brilliant thank you.

Negative experience: REALLY disappointed you can't get a gym only membership here anymore - it's swim only or full membership, which means its out of my price range for a local gym membership and gym-only memberships before the refurbishment were almost half the price. I don't mind paying a little extra for better facilities after the refurb, but forcing people to pay for a full membership when they only want to use the gym facilities (not that freezing cold swimming pool) is unfair and discriminatory. I hope the rumours of a gym opening in Saxmundham prove fruitful.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loving the refurbishment. Was a nice little place before but now it's excellent. Been going since I was a child and now my children are enjoying the centre. The new gym is helping me achieve my fitness goals and helping me get my family to enjoy working out like I do! Staff are always kind and ready to help. Top notch if you ask me and would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Popped along to see the refurbished Leisure centre and was bowled over with the facilities and standard of the place. Even catered for the disabled people which I thought was brilliant and very inclusive. Manager & staff top notch.

Fantastic experience: Have been attending for over twenty years now 70. Learned swim here from scratch an achieved silver award. Since been revamped the changing rooms are top class an sauna an steam room out of this world!!!! My mobility not gd now but u attend disabled swimming on wed an Saturdays every week. Not sure if get back to gym but apparently had over sixty stations. Staff very friendly and have always been treated well despite the fact I live with bi- polar disorder.!!!!

Fantastic experience: SWIM ONLY...Came here for the 1st time a week ago, my daughter came with her 16 wk old baby, we had a lovely time childrens pool was lovely and warm, plenty of "toys" for little ones. Changing rooms are unisex and were warm and immaculately cleaned, lockers a good size, (£1) family changing rooms, and individual changing room, showers nice and warm, communal showers and individual showers. Hairdryers. I went the 2nd time with my partner who has mobility issues and walks with 2 crutches, he used the family changing room, and was able to walk to the pool with his crutches and leave them by the steps.....nice large pool, lane swimming and open swimming, check timetables on the website. My partner used the shower cubicle but struggled as no handrails to support him and needs to sit down to shower. Had a chat with one of the attendants who told me there was a disabled toilet, with a shower where they would be happy to provide a chair. Found all the staff really helpful and polite, (we were members of David Lloyd but found the staff and facilities at Leiston exceptional) we will be using the leisure centre on a regular basis from now on. Thank you

Positive experience: Good swimming pool, have a toddler pool which is warmer than the larger pool. Quite good to go during the family fun session when they get out toys and floats for kids to play with. Changing and locker facilities are decent too, can't comment on the gym section as I haven't used it. Kids can go free if you have their passport, just sign up and you get a free card for them until they're 8 years old. ** August 2019 update... This review was based on the old centre, it has since had a refurbishment. I’ll update the review once I’ve been back (it’s fully open again). **

Fantastic experience: It could do with having an upgrade on machines, a general overhaul and made bigger. It's stayed the same for the last 25 years. Other than that it's ok. Now it's upgraded it's very good, although the studios should be at least twice the size they are for the amount of people attending. Great instructors.
