Negative experience: The worst gym I’ve ever been in , wifi barely works, there are often people acting strange in here, there is never any staff here, the machines aren’t set up right and I have seen multiple machines have breaks when they really shouldn’t
Hi Rai, thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible. If you have any concerns about specific pieces of equipment in your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Thanks, PureGym

Fantastic experience: Such a fun dance class, Talia is a delightful teacher! I go every Tuesday and it always lifts my mood and helps me take the day off. Talia is also a fantastic personal trainer and puts so much thought into making a program that suits my goals and always makes me feel like I’m progressing!

Fantastic experience: New to going to a gym I have joined and it has really improved my confidence and mental health. The trainers and lovely and all have their own personalities, Talia (My personal trainer) is always very upbeat and keeping check to make sure I'm working at a suitable level, box fit is an excellent class delivered by George which taught me a new sport I've taken a shine to. The 24 hour use is very useful and never had a problem, anything broken is fixed normally within 2 or 3 days never seen the gym messy in any way before. I would definitely recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Clean, not very busy, definitely worth to visit.
Negative experience: My 19 Yr old son and a 15 year old school boy were verbally abused and threatened by an older lad and staff did absolutely nothing
Fantastic experience: This is the gym I use. I feel safe and comfortable working out, the staff are friendly and there's so many different machines and weights. There is something for everyone

Fantastic experience: Just had two amazing classes with trainer Talia. Pump, followed by stretch. She's incredibly calm and supportive of all physical abilities. 10/10 would recommend. I will be coming again.

Fantastic experience: Called in for cardio whilst on holiday for the week. Good to keep the steps high. PLAN A keep up with the hard work. Great gym. It is this style of gym that has been adopted everywhere. Loved the place here.
Positive experience: Nicest PureGym in Norwich. Generally pretty clean and not hugely busy. My only complaint is that the toilets in the women's changing rooms stink

Fantastic experience: Ollie's bodytone class first thing in the morning is a great start to the day, and I didn't realise how effective the class was until I struggled to get down the stairs afterwards...

Fantastic experience: I heap nothing but praise on this gym, in particular Olly Dyer my personal trainer, his patience, emotional intelligence and support mean the world to me. In my opinion he stands head and shoulders above any other personal trainer I have encountered; if you are wanting to use a trainer at this gym use Olly, he really cares; not only about your physical health but your mobility, your mental health and your emotional wellbeing. Matt and Marisa are quality managers also who really care about all of their clients. I have also fell in love with spinning (especially the Saturday morning class). I would fully recommend joining Pure gym Riverside and when you do get Olly as your PT you won't regret it..

Negative experience: I have been a member of PureGym for a couple of years, though I have only been attending in Norwich since moving here in October. The staff are great, friendly and always willing to help. However, the air conditioning is woeful. When the gym is busy, after work hours, it stinks of farts. It’s really unpleasant. I have read from another comment on here about the air con and I am concerned how it will be in the summer months. Also upstairs the flooring is lumpy and bumpy and a health and safety issue at some point someone will trip. A budget gym is no excuse for these basic requirements.

Fantastic experience: We like this gym, we're early birds so it's always quiet, like the set up too with the split level flooring. Friendly staff, good pt instructors ~ have seen them with clients. Parking literally next door ~ bonus.

Positive experience: Stars are for nice staff, price and proximity to where I can get from. More stars would be given if the female staff weren't asked to work in the blokes changing area. That's not on. Also it would be good if the hand towels to clean down the kit were reinstated.

Negative experience: If its hot outside don't bother going. It is unbearable hot inside due to the air conditioning not working or not being on to save money. Guessing this is why Castle mall was added free of charge on membership. Plus the original reply is kinda untrue when the twitter for puregym says you are waiting for a part for the air conditioning unit.

Negative experience: Zero air conditioning. Unbelievably hot. Pure Gym Twitter adamant the air ‘cooling’ system is working. If that’s the case why do they have to open the balcony doors to allow air in. Utter utter joke. DO NOT JOIN!

Negative experience: Worst gym ever. That’s why is cheap. NO MIRRORS. Air conditioning summer time not working. 3 times is a row they said is broken on summer stupid. I mean do not go there.

Fantastic experience: I love the Riverside Gym because it's spacious, has windows which allows for natural lighting, it's clean, safe, the staff is friendly and very helpful. Although I have a personal trainer, I also love attending various classes, which are fun and easy to book using the app. I never tried the showers, so I can't comment on that.

Positive experience: The staff are fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. The level of equipment is pretty good for the price you pay. Can take a while to get things fixed when they do go wrong though. There have been a few issues with the heating and air conditioning meaning super hot in summer and absolutely freezing in the recent cold snap. Felt okay today. The one really bad thing is the smell. There have been ongoing issues with the toilets and the urinals in the men's changing rooms for a number of months. Toilets are often blocked and urinals are often out of order. The smell today was awful. A mixture of foul drains, wee, because the urinals don't flush automatically, and poo. The trouble is the smell drifts out into the gym itself and is most unpleasant. Somebody today said 'you get used to it '. You shouldn't have to get used to it. The problem needs to be sorted.

Fantastic experience: Recently join this Gym and really pleased. It is a pleasant atmosphere to work out in a way you choose. Lots of equipment, normally almost all in operation and good quality. Staff are are friendly and always willing to help.

Positive experience: Amazing service with amazing PT’s. Cameron walker is great, even though I couldn’t continue with him due to money issues I still had his support, he says hi and bye when I am in the gym and was happy to give advice when I needed it. The classes are great to get you into the gym and even better to work up a sweat. It isn’t too busy in there so it is great if you are looking for something small and quiet to start the gym off slowly and work up to it. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Gym is nice but we dont get proper instructions from trainers . If we need some personal training ...the staff Asking for money per hr / week etc .

Negative experience: Got a good few squat racks only 1 bench and enough weight plates for only 1 steroid monster then again classical pure gym

Fantastic experience: My favourite gym to go to. All very relaxed and chill vibes all around. Staff is super friendly. Always feel comfortable working out here. Would like more cleaning stations but aside from that I love it.

Positive experience: A nice gym. Equipment is well laid out with plenty of space to move between. Deducted a star as the Aircon was minimal and seemed like only the fans were working. Would go back again.
Positive experience: Hardly anyone is wearing a mask, including PTs, even though there are massive signs up. Cleaning stations are frequently empty. It started off well, but not anymore.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've been in Norwich so far. I particularly like the layout: downstairs is machine's, upstairs free weights. This way weights aren't scattered all over the ground floor. It's quite big and there are cleaning stations everywhere.
Negative experience: Used to have very good cleaning facilities, with cleaning points all over the building. However they’ve not removed these and replaced with one ‘cleaning station’ per floor. Consequently NO ONE wipes down equipment because to do so means having to walk the entire length length of the gym to get to the wipes by which time someone is already on the equipment you we’re about to wipe down. Contacted Pure Gym to no response. Used to be very good hygiene now extremely poor.
Fantastic experience: Great to see gyms back open and everyone cleaning the kit when finished
Positive experience: Friendly staff. However when it's busy at peak times, finding free equipment is very difficult.

Fantastic experience: Visited Norwich from London and decided to make use of our multi gym membership. Very pleasantly surprised... Great layout, easy location and to top it off ... Free flavoured sports wanted dispensor for plus members. Wish they had one of these in my local PureGym.
Positive experience: Great gym. .Great equiptment . The Team are amazing and mega friendly. . .Updated showers and changing rooms are SO.MUCH better than before!!. . .Location is perfect . .The cleanliness since opening after lôckdown has been spot.on. .The team are constantly cleaning,plenty of wipes/tissue/spray. . .All machines are spaced out too. . .Social distancing between members is being ênforced. . .Now,if only the air.con would work/be turned on/actually be cold !! .That would make the gym more enjoyable to be in. . .The doors should be opened to allow fresh air in. .Or the air.con should work?. . Overall though great gym. . .

Fantastic experience: Great location, just across the train station, parking space wont be a problem either. Accessible to various shops and restaurants including cinema and pubs. I've been going in this place way back 2009 the gym have change ownership 3 times and now it's PureGym (hopefully it will last longer) goes here for convenience and accessibility. I would say that it's an upgrade in layout, space, classes, gym equipments, staff (familiar faces, friendly and accommodating).

Negative experience: Air con doesn’t work in the summer but it on full blast in the winter. Gyms got no personality as well

Fantastic experience: A great refurb of an already decent gym. Top value, good Matrix-made equipment, sessions, decent muzac, 24/7 access, free parking - non-contracted £19.99 per month.
