Negative experience: I’m gonna need y’all to fix your lockers. Why don’t 70% of them work!? It’s infuriating! Oh, the company to replace the batteries can’t come in? TELL THEM TO COME IN ANYWAY!!

Fantastic experience: I regularly attend spin cycling sessions ah Haverfordwest Leisure Centre with Jeannie Low, she’s a great instructor who always gives 100% and motivates the class to do the same. As a result, her classes are popular and need booking early to get a space.

Negative experience: Cautionary tale for parents when booking online - make sure your child is booked on too. The website is totally inadequate. I am very computer literate and the online booking system is confusing and contradictory. I booked on this morning to attend the small pool with my toddler (in exactly the same fashion that I have done so previously). My understanding is that the small pool is designed for children. When arriving at the Leisure Centre, I was told that my child (toddler age) had not been booked on too. The session was now full and there was no way my child could enter (due to the ratio of lifeguards to attendees in the pool). The lady at reception was very sympathetic and offered me both her apologies and a refund which I accepted (and I appreciate that it certainly wasn’t her fault). However I double checked my booking confirmation when I arrived home and it was totally ambiguous. If you are a parent and consider attending, ring up to book and make sure that you are all included and booked on to the session. I was the only one booked onto the session and my child had been totally omitted from the booking. I had one very sad child with nothing to do this afternoon.

Negative experience: In fairness the changing rooms were 5 stars. Reception was weird, lifeguards all seemed savvy, kudos to you!

Positive experience: Definitely the best leisure centre in Pembrokeshire, but it's not a hard competition. They have a lot of redeeming qualities, they have a lot of sessions that aren't available in the other leisure centres, like climbing, adult swimming lessons, sauna, café etc. They have three pools which means that there is more availability to climb but even still the hours are not convenient all of the time, and considering a membership is so expensive you really expect to be able to use the facilities more often. Most of the changing room cubicles have broke, a lot of times it all smells like urine, and the lifeguards are strict about not wearing the masks that cover your nose, but none of them have any idea why. Its good enough but price.

Positive experience: Huge Leisure Centre with swimming pools indoor courts etc. I used the gym, good selection, modern equipment, rarely fully occupied. Need to book at busy times. Pools good too. Both wet and dry changing rooms. Locker system a little confusing for a new user.

Positive experience: Climb here often and love it especially since they have a new instructor called Tor. @vertical.victories She was super friendly and mega helpful. Made everyone feel welcome and was full of energy and excitement about climbing. She offered great advice to new climbers and tips and encouragement to everyone else. Her energy made our visit!

Positive experience: Fab facilities, reception can be slow

Fantastic experience: Love this Leisure Centre. And we recommend it. But, unfortunately, we cannot say the same about the private cafe in the center. The incident is that we were feeding puree to our 11-month-old baby on the territory of this cafe and asked the staff for 1 dry napkin that was used for our little one... The woman at the checkout was very polite and gave it to us. But when we were already walking to the exit, the owner of this same cafe overtook us and said that this is a private cafe and we had no right to ask for any napkins, because we did not buy anything there this time. I really want to bring more napkins there and leave them, if it is such a problem for the cafe to share 1 dry napkin with a child. And I am very sorry for the money I left in this cafe before the incident. And my family and I will never visit this cafe again.

Negative experience: Went swimming for a rainy day activity with kids. Previous negative reviews by other people are reflective of my experience too - clearly no improvements have been implemented since the previous reviews and would highlight this to anyone else thinking about visiting. Main complaints from me: Lack of notice on website to indicate that pools are closed for lessons. Changing rooms are fairly grim - dark, and feels like a breeding ground for bacteria, with an unpleasant smell. Lockers mostly not working, took five attempts to find a working one. No sign at the poolside or reception about closed pools, resulting in obnoxious life guard blowing his whistle when I dared to enter another pool. Thankfully another member of staff explained this in a perfectly polite professional manner. Life guard could do with lessons in communicating with actual words when dealing with the public and perhaps a few training courses in public relations. Broken showers. Overall a hugely disappointing experience, and definitely won't return.

Fantastic experience: Great place, friendly service, chicken and adult swimming classes, yoga, aerobics and climbing available. Fantastic gym. The cafeteria at the entrance serves chocolate cakes, tea, coffee etc. Food caddy liners available at front desk.

Negative experience: The staff are lovely.. that’s about it for the positive constantly smelt like poo and urine in the changing rooms. The sauna ALWAYS smelt disgusting and was slimy. Also found mould in the dry sauna.. for £42 a month you would expect better. And the on site cafe is a complete rip off. Didn’t even have fruit Annoying too coz you have to sign up for 3 months..

Positive experience: Been trying to call a book in on the app all morning didn’t work a there’s not alternative way nothin worked a couldn’t get into the swimming slot! Ridiculous! Try allowing people to arrive and go swimming. All this app stuff when it clearly doesn’t work!

Negative experience: Booked for family swim time, unfortunately the inflatable was broken but we were reassured there would be floats and toys available for the kids to use. Pool was absolutely freezing and the lifeguards were completely joyless and overstrict.(a lad had to be personally escorted to retrieve his float from the other pool) Pool depth set for 1 metre so no jumping in allowed. There were a few pool floats available but you were not allowed to sit / stand on them etc. No option to try other pools- totally restricted to one only. Such a shame as the facilities are great otherwise - just need to get the lifeguards to smile a bit and add a bit more equipment if inflatable out of action - Ie, balls, goals / nets, woggles etc!

Fantastic experience: Excellent leisure centre! There is plenty of space in the pool, there is a wall that comes up out of the middle, allowing the depth of the pool to be adjusted by staff, so it can be 2 metres deep or shallower. There are also two smaller sized pools for younger children. Elsewhere there is a steam room/sauna, gym and climbing wall. While you can pay for each activity as you go, I would highly recommended getting a membership, so you can book activities in advance and them sign up for the other classes and activities that they have on offer

Negative experience: Attended for an event, seemed very disorganised and having spent £10 on a ticket i would of at least appreciated a chair and possibly even a flushing toilet, not one toilet flushed.

Positive experience: Really good centre, plenty of choice for exercises. Had a climbing wall! Has a useful app to book activity. Few lockers with faulty locks is a little frustrating.

Fantastic experience: My first time at the leisure centre. I went for hydrotherapy. The changing rooms were clean. The toilets, of which there are many, were spotless. I lost count of the private showers available, which were also spotless. The pool complex is fantastic. No over chlorinating, comfortable water temperatures and plenty of lifeguards. There is also a spa. What a fantastic experience, I cannot wait to go again (I go weekly), so I'm off there for a swim today. Oh, and the staff are amazing!

Negative experience: Always fully booked but if you look in the pool there’s hardly any one in there. A useless online booking system from outdated Covid restrictions complimented but unhelpful staff. Tried to use either gym or pool twice in the last few days and been unsuccessful, there will not be a third attempt. I suggest s7 for gym and Milford for swimming.

Negative experience: Dreadful set up. You can only make bookings through an app. You go on the app, there is a message saying "there is a problem, contact the leisure centre." No one ever answers the phone. The app will only allow an individual to book so you can't book yourself and your children in for an activity. (Unless you have all their log ins and then can login and out of the app three times and make three separate bookings and three separate payments, assuming in the time this takes you all the spaces aren't filled.) If you are prepared to wait 50 minutes for someone to answer the first thing they ask you is .... have you tried booking through the app?!! They have over complicated the system to the point of making exercise less accessible for people - the opposite of what I am sure the county council is aiming for! After an hour and 10 minutes on hold and then the phone I have now successfully booked my children in for 45 minutes of swimming! A very helpful lady has managed to link my accounts on the website - but not on the app. I wonder how much tax payers money is spent on this platform and if the money would be better deployed on additional human beings on reception?!

Negative experience: Worse baths I’ve been. Kids told can’t use kids pool fully booked. Was empty. So had go on a freezing pool instead infact there lips was blue. Showers on and off can’t wash and not enough shocking

Negative experience: Went into reception April 2022 to register my son for swimming lessons, was told that the summer term is full (which I was expecting and that he would be on a waiting list for september) left all my details with reception and told I would get an email when space opened/arrived in September for him. Have visited (August 2022) today as sessions had been put up for September on their website and asked why I was not contacted for this....have been told there is no space till January. Absolutle Joke!

Fantastic experience: Clean and relaxed yet social environment. Lots of activities to do and it feels like nobody judges you (particularly talking about the fitness suite).

Positive experience: This place has become a hub for families, after school swimming, keep fit etc. The cafe, is great for me. Even though I am hearing impaired, I get treated same, and have no fault with the service I get. Its open airy but has lovely seating choices. Plus you can take away too. Pricing is doable, for most items, if a large family. Toilets are in the sports centre. Clean and spacious.

Negative experience: Tried to call and book a Climbing Taster session as per the website instructions, and waited 25mins minutes to get an answer. This shows a Naive management approach to the front of house staff making them serve on reception and answering phones when spare. No doubt they believe that the Web booking system covers all the services that they offer and as a result do not need staff to make the business work. It is probably a nice place to visit, but is in dire need of some customer focus.

Negative experience: Recently joined. Centre staff nice enough. Had my first spin class yesterday with the rudest most obnoxious instructor I’ve come across in 20 years of attending spin classes. Will be cancelling membership and going back to where I can find a decent instructor.
