Negative experience: Horrendous customer service. Requested to make a private booking for the pool 8 weeks in advance. Filled in the form, sent it, no response. The form is not accessible and it was a battle to fill it in, in the first place. Possibly the worst customer service I have ever received. Had no contact or response from management despite requesting to speak to them.

Positive experience: 17m pool, 1.2m to 3m depth. Perfect temperature for moderate swimming and teaching. Gets deep fast so not ideal for non swimmers but forces them to learn fast! Not too busy. Often nearly empty during school holidays. Lots of equipment and toys during splash sessions. Good value at £4.50 per adult, £3.50 per child. Friendly attentive life guards. Generally clean. Showers and lockers and toilets are a bit knackered and could do with some investment.

Negative experience: Pros: Cheapest swimming sessions in Cambridge. Cons: Bought a batch of swimming lessons. Tried to call on several occasions to organise these to no avail.

Fantastic experience: All I've ever done is turn up, walk on the pitch, play 5 a side and leave, from that point of view I couldn't ask for more. Can't comment on how straightforward it is to book a pitch or anything else because I am not the organiser!

Negative experience: Reasonable facilities, but not LGBT friendly and it has been made clear that I am not welcome there.

Positive experience: Car park just about always full. Wide range of facilities and activities being run.

Negative experience: Went to pick up someone well you should have a 4x4 to get up the entrance road. Large pot holes small car not a good combination

Negative experience: Hi! I have refrained myself from putting a negative review about the Centre for a while but the time has come to express my dissapointment with their services. First of all, it's now been 3 times that the gym has not been set up for the purpose that I booked it with my friends. When we arrived to the gym, it wasn't ready, we have to go to Reception (which rarely has anyone there...) wait for someone to arrive, ask to get it ready. Last time the young lady was very efficient and we were able to play 10mins into our allocated slot. Last time the two gents were really taking their time... Each and every time there is either one or another excuse: "we are short staffed" or "we have back to back sessions that's why" - which isn't accurate as on the two ocassions the gym had been locked and light off... I appreciate and sympathise with the staff and feel sorry for them that they aren't getting enough support but at the end of the day, I pay for the rental and I'd like to be able to play for the full hour, from the moment I arrive. There should be some appreciation for my time too, right? Lastly but most importantly, I had booked a session this past Monday to discover, only when I arrived to see the front gate padlocked, that the Centre had been closed. No information on the website? No email or text message? Oh! There was info on FB... how can you expect someone to get it if they aren't on FB?!?! So, today, I have been trying to call to reschedule the Monday booking for today. No luck. Called 4 times now. No-one picks up! This place needs sorting out. It needs more staff and a better manager. This is unaccaptable!

Positive experience: Big Sports Centre close to the centre. They have a log different machines and also some opportunities in different bikes and walking zone. The stuff was very friendly and the place isn’t so expensive. I can recommend this place.

Positive experience: I love this gym, so local to me. But I do miss the exercise balls, the exercise mats and the other dumbbells. I like them to come back, as I love these part of my exercise routine. Good price for membership and it wasn't as busy when I went in there.

Negative experience: I asked about trying the sauna without having a membership, and a staff member told me it was possible and said I could go change and they would come unlock the sauna door in like 5 minutes time. I got changed, then noticed the sauna door from the ladies changing room, but that wouldn't open. I waited for 10 more minutes and nobody unlocked that door, so I changed back and left. My partner was in the men changing room having the same experience. Luckily, we had agreed to wait for 10 minutes and then if nothing happened, we would head back in the hallway that leads to the changing room. Worst experience ever.

Negative experience: Got there for a taster sauna session. Got told to get changed and wait for a staff member to unlock the door in 5 minutes. Waited for 10-15 minutes, nobody came. Got dressed and left. I was considering getting a membership but not after this humiliating experience.

Negative experience: The place was empty but we were turned away when we asked if we could book a family swim as they claimed it was full

Fantastic experience: I did not use the sports facilities, just went to the cafe upstairs which was lovely. Nice coffee and a bacon roll. Spacious and light, the cafe looks over the pool and sports hall so perfect to sit up there if your child has a class.

Positive experience: Our family of 5 (3 generations) enjoyed 45 mins of swimming in the shallow end of the pool all to ourselves. Changing rooms were clean and number of people using them at any one time was limited.

Positive experience: I like the football pitch and they have parking.

Fantastic experience: Great swimming pool and helpful friendly staff. Variety of fitness classes and activities. Gym and Sauna available. Swimming lessons for all ages. Specific swimming session for children with disabilities. Reasonably priced cafe. Still a great place to go but a little run down at times (showers not working, stained ceilings where there have been leaks, less staff.) They have also increased their prices. It's a shame as this used to be so much better.

Negative experience: Bring my son to football training here each week in the evening. Have just had a notice from parking eye as parking system changed from the New Year. I do not go into the center, I arrive and leave in the dark. I have seen no signs telling of a change to parking. Just received a parking fine for £100. Worst thing is I took him this week also so expect I am about to get a second ticket. £200 down the drain. No communication. Shocking.

Positive experience: Be aware. Since a few months ago they have brought in the infamous parking eye company to operate their parking. They still claim it is free on their website but no mention of parking eye operation. In my case, I was handed out a parking ticket only after 4 or 5 days after parking eye first going into operation there, for a 6 minute overstay, when I had no idea they were operating there, being a regular visitor. No clear signage at entrance or exit or clear line of sight. They claim this is to reserve parking space for genuine customers. Ironic that they were totally unsympathetic towards unsuspecting regular customers like me when I approached them about the ticket, and that they allow such cowboys to take advantage of their customers. __ Update : following this review and the managers response and after his intervention the parking eye company finally cancelled my penalty notice after nearly 4 months. Thanks goes to the manager. Please inform your frontline reception staff too so they can be more helpful.

Fantastic experience: I love it... just starting gym after a long term injury and im finding it perfect, not busy at the times i go so i can use whatever i want and if i need help the guys are helpful and super nice!!

Negative experience: Highly disorganised classes. Tuesday pump and tone is regularly cancelled at the last minute or the instructor runs late. No responses to the numerous complaints submitted so I cancelled my membership and went elsewhere. Other than that, the gym facilities are good with clean and up to date equipment and the staff are great-although sadly, the really good ones don't seem to stick around for long. Overall, the centre is a tad run down and unclean (studio floors, changing rooms toilets).

Negative experience: very disappointing! Aqua class had no focus the trainer seemed very un interested and it was very very cold! Never again the showers were disgusting full of hair and very dirty floors, really is this the best a city like Cambridge can do?

Fantastic experience: This sports centre has a nice and descent set up. There are varieties of sports recreational activities. We use this centre for kids swimming, tennis lessons. It has a cafe which serves good food. Kids parties are also arranged at this place at reasonable prices.
