Negative experience: There is now no public swimming now between 4pm and 6pm when swimming lessons are on. Used to take my kids swimming while my youngest was in lessons. So much for a public facility. No public swimming during prime hours. Cancelled our membership.

Fantastic experience: Great place for naturist swim on Sunday night, such a lovely friendly group. Excellent sauna and steam room in with the price what's not to like.

Fantastic experience: Took my son here as he wanted to try badminton. He loved it. Very reasonable price for the hour will be returning. They even provide everything that you need too which was a bonus.

Positive experience: Really impressed modern good accessibility for less abled. This should be the minimum standard set for local facilitys

Positive experience: They have great facilities and I enjoy using the gym and the pool (sometimes). However, it's frustrating that they allow for 6 people per lane, it's not feasible and quite inconvenient. I have to go late at night if I want to be able to swim without waiting for people to finish their lengths and/or accidentally hitting/kicking someone. I don't mind going late at night but as they shut at 10pm, I have to rush to shower etc, so have to shorten my swim time to allow for this. I think 4 should be the maximum per lane. I mainly only use the gym at the moment, but PureGym is more local to me so unless they change the amount of people per lane, i'll be reconsidering where to attend to be honest.....

Fantastic experience: Went with a friend to take a look at swimming pool for future visits. The receptionist was so very helpful. She showed us around and explained all about the pool and changing areas. She answered all our questions for us to return shortly. Well done Team.

Positive experience: There are hair balls, fluff and a lot of dirt floating around at the deeper end due to the pool vac out of action. When staff are asked they have no idea when it will be fixed, the pool is really disgusting when you swim underwater as I do.

Negative experience: Lane swimmers don’t bother. Seriously tight lanes and very few lanes open as this centre treats you second class to kids swimming lessons. So little space in each lane to the point where you might find your arms hit the lane ropes (which are hard). What’s more we were told 3 lanes would be open, but only two were. If you do 40+ laps or 30+ minutes, I wouldn’t bother. There was also kids jumping in the slow lane, people dangling their feet in from the side and no one did anything about that. The only redeeming factors are decent shower facilities, changing rooms and hair dryers. Oh, and £6.50 is very affordable but you’d hope so when some tax payer funding is used to build this place.

Fantastic experience: Great parking and free. Easy access. Needs more chairs and tables in the viewing/cafe area. Lots of parents like to watch their children learning to swim.

Positive experience: Always disappointed when I go here, for a new site the pool is far too small for the number of people wanting to use it and it is not deep enough for anything other that swimming and even that is crowded. The sports hall is okay and the outdoor pitches are fine. There is a climbing wall for youngsters but again a bit disappointing for anyone else.

Positive experience: Staff are extremely friendly but it's in the wrong location very hard to get to without own transport if you rely on public transport its extremely hard especially on a Sunday its also cashless which I hate the pool is nice could do with bit more warm its the location let's it down

Positive experience: Sauna and steam room closed again this weekend due to a swimming gala, there’s not even anyone using the pool right now. Please can you consider putting a barrier between the pool and the sauna to allow members access via changing room door while the galas are on? I love coming here, great facilities and friendly staff.

Negative experience: The only thing that lets this place down is cashless payment, and that's taking away freedom of choice..

Negative experience: I been there, last year the shower was affordable and no big issues when paying 2 pounds in cash. Today I was there , the shower 6 pound because you can not exclude the swimming pool , and no cash, only card payable. It's ridiculous to exclude people from the facilities in that way, because we don't or we even can't paying with cards. All in one ,prices to high, especially for bigger families . To bring this leisure center back to everyone - please make it available for all, - not only for those paying with cards. More sensible prices would contribute to a better comunety.

Positive experience: Booked a badminton court a few weeks running but we will have to now stop going until winter as it's unbearably hot in the sports hall and it's only April so I imagine it will get a lot worse.

Fantastic experience: Took 2 of the grandkids, they both had a great time climbing the walls, top marks.

Negative experience: Lane swimmers don't waste your money here! Lots of swimmers packed into narrow lanes all swimming at different speeds. Randomly close lanes for swimming lessons and squash remaining people into other lanes. Bad news if you are a 60 length or more swimmer. Not enough single use showers. Only good thing is the water pressure ... once you've waited 10 or 15 minutes to actually get into the shower, of course.

Positive experience: A new leisure centre that has plenty of facilities including pool, gym, sports hall and courts. The membership is reasonably priced for the facilities, but I have had problems parking a few times.

Negative experience: I attended Dover Sports Centre for the first time. I was there to officiate a basketball match. I was amazed to discover that there is no visible score-clock. This creates a difficult situation, not just for basketball, but for any game that is timed, like football. The home team provided a portable scoreboard with flip over numbers, and the timing had to be done on a mobile telephone. To have a brand new sports centre without this facility is really poor. Come on Dover, get it sorted.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible company with discriminatory policies. Have joined on a special disability membership with a subsidised reduced rate. I have not attended the gym in 6 months and finally was well enough to sort out my financial affairs, so canceled my direct debit 2 days short of the 14 day cancellation period. Contacted customer services expecting some empathy or some kind of special policy for ill health, was instead threatened with late charges. Even more disturbing that this policy applies to subsidised membership due to disability and serious ill health. I am appalled.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, pool can get busy so early or late swims are recommended. Gym is well equipped. Enjoy being a member. Indoor climb, classes, courts and range of sports and activities available.

Positive experience: Good quality facilities and friendly staff on the desk. Standard prices are OK but tricky if you have a big family to pay for. Inflatable days are great for the kids and the coffee shop is nearby. Parking is generally OK but can fill quickly at busier times.

Negative experience: Been trying to cancel my swim membership, due to a change in financial circumstances (Out of my control, nothing I can do about it, I've tried). However it means I can no longer afford the luxury of a swim membership at £25 a month. I emailed them and explained my circumstances. They have been completely unhelpful and refused to let me cancel the last 8 months. Thank you for making things even harder... In response to you Charlotte, thanks for your reply, I have already emailed and i got nowhere, hence the review.

Wide range of sports facilities including table tennis (!) and 25m pool with lane swimming. Cafe available.

Positive experience: Great leisure centre, but expensive, over subscribed and gym difficult to use most days. They don’t accept cash, won’t renew membership when contract expires.

Negative experience: They think we're already in a cashless society. No cash, no custom from me. I won't be back. Pathetic company in the pockets of the banks trying to push cashless society. Refusing the coin of the realm is no good, I'll go to a pool where they care about our future.

Positive experience: Way overcrowded now. 11 pupils in my son's lesson in ONE LANE. 62 People in the pool. This centre was built just a short time ago to replace the older one (nearer the seafront). Impressive to look at but needs to be bigger.

Negative experience: Very expensive not sure why they only except card, the member staff came out with covid sorry but get over it and then said I had to pay £1.50 for a £1.00 locker token and to really top it off he was bloody rude. Next I would rather swim with crocodiles than go back there.

Fantastic experience: I went to Katy Allen's yoga class at Dover District Leisure Centre today. It was A M A Z I N G !! Katy knows so much about anatomy and her 20 plus years as a yoga teacher enabled her to personalise her teaching to accommodate my particular needs in a professional, knowledgeable and skillful way. I cannot recommend her classes more highly. I am even changing one of my work days so that I can attend one of her classes. The length of time the class ran (1.5 hours) allowed a quality and depth that yoga practice needs. I loved it and I'm sure anyone reading this would love it too.

Fantastic experience: It's OK prefer the one we had in town to be honest as it is such a trek to get up to whitfield by bus which adds more money on your budget especially if you are watching the pennies.

Fantastic experience: This was the First time my children tried the Clip n Go unit. I was very impressed. Smoothly running, clear rules, and a very enjoyable place.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, good café, nice clean swimming pool including annexed baby and toddler pool, everywhere has plenty of lifeguards. Perhaps more designed for doing lengths than doing cannonballs - but for a more child friendly session they do an inflatable obstacle course in the holidays. Clip n Climb also fantastic fun, as well as hired sports halls.

Positive experience: Went today. Clean and tidy, plenty of parking, reasonable price. A couple of negatives would be that the buttons at the top of the walls don't seem to do anything. Also, the staff spent too much time chatting to each other leaving the kids waiting to be unclipped.

Fantastic experience: Joined over a year ago as membership allows four juniors for free, ideal for me as I have four under 16. I've tried some of the classes too which are included in membership. Kids love the just swimming and you can book lane swimming too. Sauna and steam room's a nice touch Although temperature of pool seems a little lower than last year probably due to the massive energy costs right now, not surprisingly.

Fantastic experience: The best thing about Dover Leisure Centre…: Katy’s yoga classes! Amazing to have a true, inspirational yoga teacher at a leisure centre who does hour and a half classes. Thank you On top of that, it’s kept clean, every one is friendly and polite (on the whole!!), the showers are fab, and it’s nice to get a decent coffee afterwards!

Fantastic experience: The swimming pool only; very clean, nice environment and pool. Enough changings cubicals, showers, great staff, not too expensive, grest parking and FINALLY they have re-introduced 'open swim' you don't have to book. That was stopped after Covid and I refused to become a member again until they restarted the convenient way to swim. Now, this is as great as any public pool can be... and better!

Positive experience: Lovely centre but on more than one occasion we've had to ask for the lights to be turned on. When I complained that we had to play football without the lights they said we should of come and asked. Who wants to stop their game to ask for the lights to be put on.

Fantastic experience: I became a member for the amazing 90 min yoga classes with a super experienced and knowledgeable teacher. It's been well worth the price just for that but there are many other great classes and facilities to enjoy and it's easy to try new things. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. My one negative is the location. I don't understand why the new leisure centre was built so far from Dover town center. It would be great if it was easier to get to by bike or walking. Seems a shame to have to drive to a fitness centre!

Negative experience: It's ok but never liked this disfunctional leisure center since it was built the designer must be a complete idiot and work for the council. But it is what it is and a leisure center not remotely family oriented. Can not understand why when this was built did it not have a family big pool and maybe some slides or something to do. Today it cost 16.80p for me my wife and my 9 year old who is free because little one has membership. So to basically swim few lengths where we could and Bob about in pool.

Pools have lifts for people to get in and out of the pool. Girl's on the desk very happy and polite very impressed

Negative experience: Ridiculously poor offers and overpriced.. Especially in sales season. Pure gym offer 24/7 opening, 50 quality classes, a choice to use over 200 of their other gyms around the country no contract, etc. All for £18.99 per month. I rest my case. Pull your socks up DLC. Be generous. X

Fantastic experience: Took my 6 year old swimming here and could not fault the place. The staff on the front desk are helpful and have great customer service skills. We will be coming here on regular basis come the new year :)

Negative experience: Took my 6month old here for our weekly swim for a change from our usual tides, and will definitely not be returning with him, 3 minutes in the pool and I was cold but my son was absolutely freezing and shivering so had to get out but even the changing rooms were freezing so it made him worse, took me a while to warm him back up, I understand that its expensive to heat the pool and the building but allowing the water and changing rooms to get as cold as it was is just dangerous for young children.
