Fantastic experience: Lovely meal way too much the chicken choujons would be enough, partner and sister getting pampered. Unfortunately my health means I can't so they enjoyed treatments I enjoyed two pints lovely place to come too

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for the nighy with the Mrs, used the sheltered driving range which has trackman which is great. The night stay was brilliant comfy big beds. Food is amazing. Spa is lovely to relax. Great place.

Negative experience: Prices for the driving range have crept up over the last few years, now firmly in the ridiculous territory. The facilities don't match the cost, the mats are well worn, quite a few of the screens not working. Despite the number of golf courses in the area there aren't many driving ranges, so not a great deal of alternative options sadly.

Fantastic experience: We booked the indulgence package for 3 of us at The Gailes for a friend's special birthday. Having tried a few local spa days, this was by far the best in terms of the treatments received, the facilities and service. Staff were professional & the whole day went seamlessly. Lunch was provided as part of the package, it was served in the spa restaurant which meant that we weren't self conscious about being in our robes. This was our friend's first ever spa day & she loved it

Positive experience: The food was good but the service was OK, I asked a question on a meal in the menu and all I got was "I normally work on the bar, I don't know" I asked for a cocktail which wasn't on the menu and was told the bar was too busy even though the restaurant was half empty.

Negative experience: It's dog friendly which is not my issue it was during dinner and breakfast there was a dog which had free rain to walk about restaurant and staff happy to clap dog then serve you your food also room was poor right above venue with music playing late and right across from cleaner's room could here everything they where saying at 6am great worst night sleep I've every had at any hotel will not be using again Spa was great

Positive experience: Decent menu. Liz, our waitress was fabulous. However it us very overpriced for what you get. Restaurant prices for a cafe setting. Might go back for a coffee, but no food.

Positive experience: We spent an hour or so at the Driving Range then sat down for lunch in the restaurant. We were looked after by Cameron, who was an absolute star, so polite, helpful and friendly! Portion sizes are plenty, everything was well cooked, piping hot and so tasty. The dining area is well kept, clean and inviting.

Negative experience: Driving range was ok but the golf course is diabolical.. we only payed a 5er and no wonder it should be free of u buy 100 balls cos that's a shocking course

Positive experience: The gold course will do. As an amateur looking experience it's not bad for general practice but the winter greens are abysmal. I've nearly lost balls in rabbit holes, the green isn't even worth considering for putting practice. If you're happy with a game of closest to the pin then it's fine. The driving range is good quality. Top tracer works fine after dark as long as the lights are on When they're busy, service isn't great.

Positive experience: Sadly our experience at the Gailes (restaurant) was extremely disappointing due to a number of reasons : UNCOMFORTABLE TABLE PLACEMENT & COLD DRAFTS Our table was situated right next to the entrance door, toilets and waiters station. Here, we experienced cold drafts whenever the door was opened. This was a birthday dinner for elderly citizens of which some ladies ate their meal while wearing their coats because they WERE that cold. In addition, there was a lack of privacy as the waiter's station was literally situated within a meter of our table (You could hear the majority of their conversations) ATTENTION TO DETAIL GOES A LONG WAY Wine was ordered for the table. Usually a bottle of wine is presented to the guest, opened and then poured. This shows courtesy and adds to the atmosphere of the dining experience. Sadly, this did not happen. Our ladies ended up pouring their own glass of wine. SERVICE To finish off our meal, coffees and cointreau were ordered. Cointreaus were served incorrectly and eventually replaced twenty minutes later after asking three people why it was taking so long? It is unfortunate but as a group we agree that the service and atmosphere was poor!!! However, our star rating is purely for our meal. It was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by all - Thank you Apologies Gailes, we are not ones to complain or give negative feedback but hopefully this review will encourage you to evaluate your services and customer experiences.

Negative experience: Prices have went up 3 times this year and every time I go the computers don't work, once left some clubs there by mistake, asked them to check cameras and see if they had been handed in as they were very sentimental. Said they didn't have them and couldn't check cameras, I found them 6 months later in a pile of clubs they rent out, ruined. Not the greatest of experiences this place. More and more I'm getting to the point where the computers just can't justify the extra money as they never pick up your shots

Fantastic experience: Took the kids to the driving range and they had a great time. Very good set up and it killed an hour. Eldest child took it very seriously but the other 2 just had a mess about. They all loved it though.

Positive experience: Can't see how this won best spa in Scotland, its certainly not the best spa I've ever been too, from toilet/showers not locking, ludicrous soft drink prices, couldn't get near the outdoor hottub as same people kept using it, limited menu available, sides came when we had almost finished our meals and weren't cooked properly, broken tiles around the indoor pool, basic sun longers dotted about, no heated loungers anywhere, no ice cubes, water fountain produced warm water and far too many people in at the one time to name a few issues!

Fantastic experience: I visited Gailes on Tuesday evening with family and friends where we had a fabulous evening of fine wine and food. From the beautiful starters, the excellent main course and not forgetting the amazing sweet to finish off a completely successful evening. Oh and before I forget, the wine how could I forget the wine . The evening was complimented by the very professional staff who were attentive without being intrusive and applied a personal touch to make our evening as good as it was. It goes without saying, I highly recommend Gailes, you won't be disappointed.

Positive experience: Good shop. Only downside is if you have to test a club, it's £3 a time on range. American Golf don't charge and you don't feel hassled.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting the newly refurbished restaurant. Similar beach theme as another of their venues in Ardrossan. Ordered 2 large breakfasts. Service was quick, pleasant. Food was fresh, nicely cooked, not over cooked like a place I visited recently, and was certainly good value for money. Lovely pot of tea and a large black coffee finished with a pint of fresh orange and lemonade and came to £30. No complaints. Would recommend.

Negative experience: Went for lunch at the golf restaurant Repeatedly ignored while 6 of us waited to be seated. Other customers walked right up to the bar and were served and we were still waiting. So angry we walked out. Appalling service.

Negative experience: It always smells terrible around the grounds of the hotel and car park, need to fix their sewerage, also how can a driving range run out of balls, there sitting on the field? Go and collect them ?

Fantastic experience: Had two hour lesson with Calum PGA on Sunday, at Gailes Golf Leisure, it was fab would highly recommend it. A mix of practical lessons at the driving range, practiced with driver a few irons & hybrid clubs, then went onto the 9 hole course for a bit of practice on the course using sand wedge & putter. Looking forward to my next lesson! Calum amazing, very professional, offered great tips and advice.

Positive experience: Just had a lovely overnight stay here. Its the first time we've been back since it was refurbished and it looks amazing. Can't fault the staff particularly the lady on reception when we checked in. My husband has mobility issues and she asked if we would like a room on the ground floor not far from reception which was ideal for us. All our meals were lovely. Only thing I would say is I think you could do with a better quality duvet on the bed. Everything else was lovely. We will definitely go back.

Fantastic experience: For a hotel complex the facilities are amazing . The golf shop is huge and well stocked, the range is amazing with trackman and two heated bays, coffee shop and sports bar. Not played course but listening to people that have sounds in good condition.

Negative experience: We ordered but did not get what was ordered, also had to wait an awful long time for our sweet dish. Not a good experience at all.
