Positive experience: Business meeting location that is ideally located between the city and Westhill with ample parking. The foyer is a welcoming environment with a cafe, comfortable boutique seating on one side and ideal restaurant seating on the other leading to the bar and restaurant. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Positive experience: I have been a member for over 7 years now. The gym has made big changes and provides a range of equipment for everyone’s needs. However I do feel that the quality of the equipment is starting to degrade and has not been replaced since I joined over 7 years ago. Recently there has been new equipment added to the gym floor but there is other machines I feel that could have been installed I.e hack squat, lying leg curl and arm machines. Also when there is equipment out of use they take a long time to repair. There seems to be no cap on capacity as there is very large amount of members which leads to peak times being very over populated and very difficult to get on equipment and having to change your workout to suit timeframe. Paying £60 a month to not be able to get a good workout is frustrating. There should also be a rule that you shouldn’t be able to workout with more than 3 people, even 2 people max in the weights section of gym floor. Good variety of classes but lacks the same high standard of instructors taking the classes. Change of timetable recently of the classes and different instructors rotating has stopped me going to the spin class I used to enjoy going to most taken by instructor Brandon Knott. It’s now limited to which class I can attend. Changing rooms and spa/pool facilities are ok but lack the quality for the price you pay. Again it’s the same facilities since I joined- could be done with a freshen up, especially the changing rooms as they are now are now tired looking with mould on tiles and rusted surfaces. Men’s urinals have a strong smell of urine. There also seems to always be a lot of water lying on the floors, this isn’t very hygienic with people coming in with dirty footwear and making the floors not clean to walk on barefoot. There always seems to be promotion deals and discounts for new members but nothing for existing members. Could have discounts during busy months or more perks I.e discount off protein shakes/snacks or gym passes to allow to bring a non member. No offshore rates available for people who work offshore or overseas- therefore have to pay full price. Overall good gym with friendly staff but the above is why it gets the 3 star review.

Positive experience: Lovely bright airy gym . Being a novice to gym feel Very comfortable. Lots of classes to try for all levels of fitness .

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic morning and yesterday when I came in to have a chat the stuff in the gym took their time to explain everything to me and we had a great conversation and I feel like everything has been explained to me properly end all my questions were answered. Today morning I went back to use a studio for some routines and then I also used the gym. The gym and the changing rooms were all looked after. I finished my visit with a breakfast so it was great start of the day. Thank you guys I'm sure I will be back when I will visit Aberdeen again. Michael

Negative experience: Not supportive staff and manager in Aberdeen branch. Did not allow me to use my guest pass although we are all member of the club as a family of four. Very disappointed with the Village Gym.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of the village gym for around 5 years. I love the facilities and the vast choice of classes but what makes it for me is certain members of the team who are always friendly, welcoming and stop for a chat or catch up whenever I’m in. Lola is one of the nicest girls. Always have a little chat with her on the way in/out and I love that she knows all the regulars by name and has built up relationships with everyone. Asks about the kids, my partner who is also a member and takes a genuine interest. I go to a lot of Brandon’s classes and have had PT with him in the past. Again great guy, his classes are always great fun and he always has time for the customers. For a lot of people like myself the gym is an outlet and a place to de stress and the staff add to that experience.

Fantastic experience: Lovely, friendly gym. Great mix of classes for all levels. Nice pool. Love Catherine's BodyCombat class - great work out and love her energy! You'll leave sweating but SO worth it! Natalie's a great PT and also does a fab weights class - Synergy - for all levels. There's Aquazumba and HIIT options too. Love it!

Negative experience: Travelled over to have a sauna and swim followed by a meal and we were told they were full due to swimming classes.. We just headed back home disappointed.. Feeling a bit cheated having paid my membership..

Negative experience: Hotel à ne conseiller que pour une nuit. Chambre avec vue sur la façade sans fenêtre d'un immeuble en face. Bon couchage, large douche. Problème pour la prise de recharge USB qui ne fonctionne pas, personne ne vient et pas de solution de secours pour recharger nos équipements. La salle de restaurant est mal ventilée ça sent le graillon. Pas agréable de venir juste y prendre un pot en apéro. Équipements sportifs assez "industriel". La piscine est grande et bien chauffée. Par contre, un bruit horrible digne des plus vieilles piscines publiques :(

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff. Best gym in Aberdeen! All the amenities and updated equipment. Great swimming pool for leisure and sport. Suitable opening times for most. Only criticism would be to do a thorough clean/wipe down of changing rooms (ladies) and gym equipment/ floor/ceiling. Also amazing classes available all day long. Highly recommended booking a tour to see for yourself.

Negative experience: Always try to refuse us entry. No cash policy. This is discrimination and yet they have all these investors in people sign s up. Staff are nice and often put our entry on their own cards.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely great gym, perfect size of swimming pool a really good hot tub. Sauna and steam room also..big changing rooms.

Negative experience: This is really shame, I'm regular full time member of the village gym last 5 years, after my workout i love to use steam room but unfortunately i seen last few months they keep steam room temperature law. There for it is not working properly and give bed small inside, unhygienic damp small.

Fantastic experience: Great quality, modern Technogym equipment. Classes are also regular (during non-covid times) and staff are friendly. Personally, I think its great value in comparison to what I used to pay for another premium gym in Aberdeen. For context, it is half the cost with much better service and equipment.

Negative experience: The facilities no longer justify the premium price. I originally signed up to this gym due to the facilities and services available and was delighted with what was on offer, I now find myself questioning why I am continuing to pay for a sub-par facility and services. The men’s changing room now has a constant stench that is repulsive, I find myself spending as little time in them as possible. It takes me 3 to 4 attempts to find a locker that actually works. Whilst the showers are an area to avoid in general. The staff are stand off and seemingly uninterested in their jobs with those on shift preferring to socialise with their mates. The machines available in the gym are starting to show there age with general wear and tear but there is no sign of any replacement equipment for these. Whilst the refurbished work of the gym flooring has been a great improvement, this has been ruined by trying to cram all weight related equipment into a small area. Having looked at the other gyms available in and around Aberdeen within a similar price bracket I can now fully justify my decision to join elsewhere.

Negative experience: Very disappointing the staff are not friendly the gym and studios are not properly looked after and not clean . But mostly the behaviour of the instructors and staff is amazing their language consists of "l will throw you out of the class if you don't book your class in advance" or"this your last warning there'll be consequenses" or what i find utterly surprising is they remind me of my PE teacher. l don't feel that this a club where l have come to strengthen my physical and mental ability

Positive experience: My first impression was wow as I didn’t expect a modern gym with a name “village”. So I went comparing this to it’s rival David Lloyds (DL). The village has better gym equipment that’s newer if not the latest. The treadmill and elliptical has huge screens. The wet area e.g the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna & steam is a little smaller than in DL especially the jacuzzi. I like the changing room with the magnetic band in village as it’s so convenient to use the locker without having to bring your own padlock. However the space was rather cramped and I had to wait to use the shower and even the hairdryer which I never had this problem before in DL. Plus part of this changing room are they provide not just bodywash but also shampoo in the showers and have hair straighter together with hair dryers at their vanity counters. Not too sure about the full packages here as I only managed to try this gym out for a day hence can’t compare fully in terms of value for money. The convenient part of this gym is the spa next to it, Starbucks coffee and the restaurant in the hotel which serves delicious food presented in a lovely rustic style.

Negative experience: Abysmal. Classes where the instructors don't turn up. Bikes which have been faulty for many months. Running machines with the drink holders broken. Spa or steam room often closed for repair. Computer systems which pick up your belt details rarely work, or keep prompting for windows activation!!! Very expensive and badly maintained equipment. I together with many others will be cancelling my membership.

Positive experience: I been in the Nuffield Health Gym in Aberdeen and considering that the price range is quite similar to Village Gym I felt underwhelmed. The biggest problem I personally found was that entire gym area is quite small and everything is crammed close together. You can feel it especially in free weights area or near mirrors with pads for stretching. It seems that there is simply no space to stand especially if you need to make wide moves. Also corporate discount is basically non existing in here. The only good points of entire place is that treadmills and weight machines are really good and seems to be kept quite well. They have good digital assistant that should really help out for newbies. Can't really comment on sauna or swimming pool, but from what I heard they are decent enough. Overall, I guess it is fine place if you work nearby and come over during off-peak hours. Last note: I really hope that usually mens toilet area is kept more clean, because during the days I visited entire area smelt like portable toilet from in the festival after it has been used for few days in a row - simply revolting.
