Avondale Gymnastics Club: Opinions
Positive experience: Great gymnastic area for young kids. They will have alot of fun in this place, also great for hosting a birthday party for kids like 6 yrs.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. My 5 year old loves her weekly class. I have seen a massive improvement in her fitness over a year. My toddler loves coming to the tumble gym. It's always fun. Great atmosphere, very spacious and clean. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Fantastic experience: It's a great club where coaches care about well being of the children. My daughter loves it and always look forward to trainings. Birthday parties are also great success there!
Negative experience: Awful and inappropriate. My daughter was on the waiting list for over 2 years. We received an email stating that to reduce the waiting list, all children born between certain dates were able to come along for a trial. My 6 year old went along and (unexpectedly), there were children attending in their Avondale leotards. It turned out that my daughter was the only one having a "trial" and she was pulled aside and asked to do a variety of skills. My normally confident 6 year old curled up in the fetal position when she got home, and was clearly upset by the experience. Most sports are moving away from early "de-selection" models based on one-off performance testing for long-term athlete development. Academics have highlighted the need to offer an appropriate and stimulating environment for children to realise their potential. This is clearly not the approach used at Avondale. If you want your son/daughter to have a positive experience of formal gymnastics, this is NOT the place to go.
Positive experience: Great place for the youngsters to have a birthday party and let off steam before sitting to eat .
Fantastic experience: Lovely place for kids.
Fantastic experience: Great gym for kids
Positive experience: Great place.. my son had fun
Fantastic experience: Kids love it, (4 and 6 yr old) very good gymnastics club. Long waiting list. One still attending, 11 now. Still enjoys clearly :) still a big waiting list to get a place.
Negative experience: We have been on a waiting list for more than 4 years, since my son was 2 years old. 4 months ago we have been called in for a trial (we had to pay £8 for this) to be told after a couple of weeks that we could not have a place. I cannot describe my 6 year old disappointment. I cannot describe mine either. 4 Years waiting. Speechless.
Positive experience: Very friendly staff here. This was our first time at the walk in sessions for toddlers. Parents can accompany Thier kids and let them play burn off energy or try and teach them some tumbling and balancing skills. There is a place upstairs to get coffee etc which I didn't try. All in all not bad for £5 10am to 12
