Negative experience: Had a spa day on Monday (25/11) the massage and facial were amazing, however the gel Manicure was not. The Manicure felt like a rushed job (the 60min booking took about 20mins) we sat in mostly silence while listening to 2 other staff members arguing 10 feet away about one of them being booked to provide an eyebrow lamination next week when she's never done one before. One of my gel nails peeled off almost immediately as I was getting dressed, so I had to go back in to get it re-done by a different staff member who ended up slicing my finger with the nail file (Google won't allow me to post the picture as it violates their rules for being "too graphic" ...it's not, but just imagine a deep paper cut) I ended up just leaving and not using the rest of the facilities or having my pre-paid lunch because the atmosphere was so unprofessional and uncomfortable. By the time I got home, some of my other nails had started peeling. Then by the next day I had less than half of them remaining and had to book into a different nail salon near me to get them fixed. My nail tech fixing my nails on Tuesday had told me my nails were not cured properly and not prepared correctly either.

Positive experience: I recently joined Cambridge Country Club and have generally been impressed by the facilities and offerings. The club has a lot to offer, from great amenities to a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to visit. While there were a few minor misunderstandings during the membership sign-up, the overall experience has been enjoyable, and I look forward to seeing how the year unfolds. I’m hopeful that the club will continue to deliver high-quality experiences that make membership worthwhile. I’m happy to start with 4 stars and look forward to potentially updating this to a full 5-star review as time goes on.

Positive experience: not a bad course however for the cost for a non memeber it is exspensive and have played better courses for less

Negative experience: I cannot stress enough how a membership at this gym is not worth it. The pool is freezing cold at all times (come on, listen to the complaints), the walls are coming apart with damp and the changing room floors are constantly soaking wet with hair floating in puddles. No hot tub, just a whirlpool which circulates the freezing pool water. It’s so not luxurious and I leave feeling dirty. Never seen the cotto lounge(?) open before despite them talking about it all the time. The gym is fine but nothing special in terms of the range of equipment available. Constant hike up in prices for no better facilities and you can’t even use the pool without shivering and getting out immediately. Not worth the cost
Good morning Chloe, many thanks for your review. The pool is actually warmer than almost all pools at 30 degrees, most pools are around 28-29 and this allows the pool to me multi-purpose use. We have family swim time, aqua classes, length swimmers and general bathers. The only pool that would be warmer would would be a hydro pool at 36 degrees and this is for people who are looking to lounge in warm water. We, as a fitness facility are more geared towards swimmers and fitness. In terms of the cleanliness, this is very disappointing to read, we have a very strong on site cleaning team as well as our overnight deep clean, so this is something we will investigate thoroughly. Again, thank you for bringing to our attention. We look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon and the visit will be a much better one, unfortunately the pool temperature will sill be around 30 degrees and as i mentioned, this is to suit the wide range of activities we have poolside.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place to unwind. The Staff are so helpful and on the front desk Seb & Tom have been amazing and also the spa staff Georgia and Aneta being very helpful and the rest of the staff have been so lovely. A really Nice atmosphere and place to unwind.

Negative experience: Be aware they will cancel your bookings if they feel like it! I've never had a booking cancelled before because "the accommodation was no longer available". It's clearly a code word for "We thought we could get more for it from some other mug after holding your deposit for months" Unbelievable!

We use a third party for reservations of our accommodation and they took the bookings in good faith that the lodges would be ready in time. Unfortunately we had some delays and as per our policy we gave you notice within our agreement. Negative experience: My partner had a long standing booking here, for a birthday break later in the year. Today, she received an email cancelling it. The email states the accommodation is "no longer available" and "your stay in this accommodation cannot proceed". Looking at the reviews, it's probably a blessing in disguise, but I want people to be aware that they regard bookings as something to be honoured or cancelled, at their discretion. Other reviews for this place show this isn't an isolated case. Edit: Looking at the reply, it defies belief that they think we'd book there again, whatever rate they offered!

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely relaxing spa day, lunch was included along with shoulder, neck, back massage and facial. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely sun terrace to sit and have a drink at the end of the day overlooking the golf course. The only downfall was there was no outside space for you to sit in your spa dressing gowns you had to get dressed but will definitely be returning with my bestie

Negative experience: I visited the Cambridge Country Club with my sisters on the 15/08. We wanted a relaxing day out without spa treatments as we had already had a full spa day earlier in the month elsewhere. I contacted them to enquire about their facilities and I was told that they do a day pass with access to spa facilities (pool, sauna steam room) and gym. The club itself is very clean and interior is to a high standard; the gym is also well equipped and clean. However, as other reviews mention, the problem is that the wet facilities are not spa facilities as they are neither relaxing nor accommodating. The pool temperature is far too cold for it to be a spa pool and it is impossible to relax in such a pool. The sauna and steam room are compact. Hence, there is little to do in terms of relaxation once you have used the compact sauna and steam room. The loungers are orange plastic which is again uncomfortable. I approached the receptionist to raise my concerns as 1 hour into the day we had little to do and just wanted to leave to be honest. I felt as though they initially tried to minimise my concerns and usher me away. However, I again approached them as we were really so disappointed. The membership manager then agreed partial refund - £10 off the initial £25. If I’m honest, it should have been a full refund but I was just fed up and wanted to get out of there. In conclusion, this is definitely not a spa and I would have been appalled if I had paid what they charge for a full spa day. It is more a health club charging extortion for goodness knows what.
Dear Zaina, Many thanks for your review. I am disappointed to read you did not enjoy your visit. The pool is not a spa pool and is set at 29 degrees which is to cater to all of our members, whether they are swimming laps, children swimming with their parents during family swim times and our aqua classes which are hugely popular. The £25 you paid also included access to our state of the art gym and use of our changing facilities. All of this is included in the spa day as well as a choice of treatment. With this, we believe it is excellent value for money and perhaps if you had included a workout you would have felt the full benefits of the day pass. Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience on Friday celebrating my mums birthday We came for the ‘Champagne and oyster’ evening with a live pianist, this combination with also sitting outside with the view of their beautiful golf course was an overall fantastic experience! Freshly cracked oysters in front of us, fresh from Jersey that morning! Max is always really friendly and goes above and beyond to give us a great experience every time we are here! He went beyond to surprise our mum with a cake that we had brought with us and had also coordinated the pianist to sing happy birthday with the cake It really made her birthday extra special, thank you so much Max for your excellent customer service! We will definitely be coming back to celebrate future birthdays here.

Fantastic experience: Just came home from a lovely day here. The spa, building and grounds are immaculate and everything is brand new and to a very high spec. Treatments were brilliant with Elemis products, heated beds, and knowledgeable staff. The food was also excellent. Well worth a visit.

Positive experience: Shame not a bad course but was there on a municipal basis but was made to pay due to another 4ball there on a municipal day but did not explain when booked had travelled a way so played not very helpful.
Dear Mr Goodwin I am disappointed to read your review. At Cambridge Country Club we pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service. As the booking for Eight Cannons Brook Players was taken all together under one name for two back to back tee times, the second fourball tee time was not treated as separate. Therefore, the other fourball that you mention in your review was part of your existing group booking. The municipal day you mention is the Smart Golf Network. As per the Smart Golf Network rules, one fourball is free of charge and the second fourball is charged at the members guest (discounted network rate). As you booked through Smart Golf, the rules of Smart Golf must apply. Despite the rudeness of your group towards the golf team and the threat of your group leaving a bad review unless we waive all charges, we cannot allow the system to be abused and we have to charge the nominal amount agreed on the scheme for the second group only. I am sorry that you feel you should have all played for free on our pristine golf course. A member of your group mentioned to me that you have gone to other clubs on the scheme and tried to do the same for more than one tee booking. Positive experience: Went for a spa day yesterday. Staff made you feel very welcome. The treatments we had were wonderful; a full body scrub my skin felt divine and then a pedicure. The food was yummy especially my dessert. Beverly the Spa Manager was so helpful and no job was an issue a lovely lady.. A couple of improvements. The beds in the relax room are so low there was no way I could get down to them with my arthritic legs, the steam room didn't smell too great certainly couldn't smell any eucalyptus! Disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn't separate to the pool as it was cold. Also the switch to put the jets on was no where near the jacuzzi. 7 out of 10.

Positive experience: Great country club/gym. Shame about their early closure of cafe/bar. Although centre closes at 10pm, but the cafe closes at 6.30 to 7.0p pm.

Negative experience: Spa day Beautiful location & building. Welcoming staff. We booked a day package with food and a 30 min treatment. The treatment time was rescheduled twice before arrival and again on arrival due to lack of staff. Nice welcome, and short tour. The Salt room is three beds upstairs to the side of the treatment rooms, here is also a relaxation room.The sauna and steam rooms are compact and downstairs on the side of the pool area. First impression was there is not much in the way of facilities for a full spa day. 1.If you want a drink you have to dry off go upstairs to the bar in the spa area with payment card and then head back downstairs. 2.The pool & whirlpool aren't particularly warm and didn't have anything in the way of spa vibe. 3. Drinking water fountain by the pool dribbled & you couldn't get close enough to drink. 4. Mens door to the pool needed fixing as it was hanging on one hinge. 5. Sauna glass looked grubby and had rubber seals hanging off. Waterfall showers had obvious limescale and not particularly reactive to temperature change. 6. As it got busy not enough seating around the pool 7. Steam room had ammonia smell 8. DRY Changing rooms very few private areas to get changed 9. Having to rember pass code to go into changing rooms 10. Plastic bags are usually avalible for wet clothes 11. No head towel 12. Not told aqua aerobics going on in the pool, it was not relaxing watching the class. 13. Pool a corridor to the ajoing pool for baby swimming lessons 14. No outside space allocated to spa guests, we were welcome to go on the terrace until 1pm but have to change out of spa pool clothes. 15. Not many staff took 25 min to speak to manager. After 49 min we struggled to see how we were going to spend half a day let alone a full day. We spoke to Mike and a refund was agreed, it took a month to get the money back. There was no exotic spa smells & relaxing music or treat aspect to the time we spent in the facility. It didn't feel like a spa day /escape more like a day out in a fancy leisure centre. The facilitys don't flow together. You leave upstairs walk along the landing past reception before you get to the pool. Overall, not the relaxing spa day advertised at all. If you want to spend a couple of hundred pounds on a day out at a posh leisure centre, pretending to be a relaxing spa day, they will happily take your money. However, they will take much longer to refund it.

Several of the points you raised have already been addressed by the team. The cleanliness and small maintenance issues have been improved and processes in place to ensure it remains so. Positive experience: Visited as part of the partnership with the NHS. Not well signed when inside the building, but reception was helpful. Very modern, clean and tidy facility. Phone signal was non-existent, even in the car park.

Fantastic experience: Lovely Golf course with a good proshop but a bit cramped inside. Restaurant and bar area is very nice and food was great. Advise getting a cart if you don't like walking up hills. Overall a fantastic visit and will definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend the country club enough! The service was professional from start to finish. Very friendly staff and well looked after. Negative experience: The club is set up nicely with nice people and lots of amenities. However, I am stuck in this loop of trying to cancel before someone says that they cannot help me and they will get someone to call me back.. before surprise surprise, no one calls me back (eveb after waiting days for a call back). I am trapped paying for a service I can no longer use. Sign up with this in mind.

Fantastic experience: I took 44 players from Rushden Golf Club for our annual Captain’s Away Day, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Aaron and Sarah in the Pro Shop were incredibly helpful in arranging tee times, buggies and helping me with organising the day. Ruth and her catering team provided excellent bacon rolls on arrival, a sandwich/chip lunch and a superb 3 course evening meal. All dietary requirements were met (gluten free and pescatarian) with great alternatives. The course was in exceptional condition – it’s a really interesting, picturesque and challenging course with enough shorter holes to offer all players a fighting chance of a score. Tees and greens were immaculate and fairways and bunkers well-maintained. As for the facilities, the clubhouse is amazing with all the facilities you could wish for. The Spikes bar is welcoming with professional and friendly staff and the private dining areas reserved for my group looked out on the patio and 18th green. Negative experience: Was a member of the golf club when it first opened and have to say what a transformation of the course. Not played for a while (5 Years I think) Alex was Chef. I Had a Bog deal which we had pre booked 12.52 tee for yesterday’s, got a call to say Ladies invitation was running behind by 30 mins!! No problem had a pint and ordered Ham egg and chips to pass time away. Well I got one thin sliced piece of plastic ham worth 50p 2 eggs cooked how I like and a mini chip basket full of rock hard skinny chips with skin on. Let me tell you as a butcher and caterer it was the worst ever. £13 (unlucky I think) But went out to tee of after to be told had another 30 minutes delay as old Ladies take 4.30-4.45 mins for a round of golf as they politely told us Four ball men. That know nothing! we was given a voucher for a four ball at £10 each. the 3 ball who cane from Norwich got a free round each. I will go back and hopefully a tip top venue will sort a simple Ham egg and chips and keep tee times clear fir any compations

Negative experience: Considered the cost of the spa day, there are a few points to be improved: 1. When we arrived, we noticed that the jacuzzi was completely not working and when I spoke with some local people they said it was not working for a week. I have reported to reception and they said sorry, but this should not happen. I booked three days befor. 2. The jacuzzi water was not very warm, but let say ok-sh 3. The lunch service has been not good. We ordered some bread and we waited more than 20 min to get it.Moreover, the bread was not even toasted. Negative experience: Poor facilities, freezing cold jet pool, small sauna and steam rooms leading to over crowing quickly and a weird lay out so you’re walking past members of the public when in your robe. Massage was good but otherwise the spa facilities were just basic

Fantastic experience: Wonderful Spa day, I booked a package which included all the facilities plus treatment. The treatment was excellent and can’t fault anything , heated beds , Relaxation room warm & welcoming , the spa lounge great atmosphere , lovely food & the pool/ spa facilities very nice too . Not crowded considering a Saturday. Staff excellent - spa , reception & catering . Will be back for sure .

Negative experience: If you are a member there they treat you awfully, their customer service continues to speak down to you and escalates situations. And their staff are never the same. Many members will go there for classes then run out the door. Not a welcoming place for one that charges you an arm and a leg

Positive experience: Went for a spa day, treated and welcomed by staff and paperwork completed, and was given a tour around. The pool was on the cooler side, and the jacuzzi was part of the pool, so it was not hot. As its part of the health club, it is not a spa in essence. By the pool, there are a few chairs, and they are hard plastic orange. Upstairs spa is lovely, and the salt room is nice as away from the health club side. The therapy room is nice, but the staff member that stomps about up and down the corridor disturbs your treatment. The showers downstairs did have a smell. The food was nice, but no drinks included in the price, but you can add on as needed. Overall, it was good but really is a health/country club, not a spa, so it depends on what you are looking for.

Negative experience: Used to be a lovely club that welcomed members in the cafe/ bar area. Now apparently you're only valued for how much money you spend. We're constantly being told by the obnoxious blonde manager woman that they can only allow people who buy food and drink in the couch area "we are not a waiting room". Fair enough so I bought a sausage roll from them at an extortionate price of £2.80. Only to be told that wasn't enough and in future "you need to spend more". Also I wasn't allowed to bring my own water in. Needless to say the not-waiting area was empty as no one is welcome here anymore. Definitely not a good club that values golf members. Horrible place that is trying to be something fake and soul-less in the pursuit of profits.

Fantastic experience: After looking for a retreat that has spa facilities and is open till late, my wife and I discovered Cambridge Country Club. We arranged a tour and was greeted by Seb, who gave us a guided tour of the club and expertly answered all our questions. The venue is beautifully decorated and caters for all our requirements. Following our tour we took out a joint membership and look forward to using all the facilities. A huge thanks to Seb for not only taking us around, but his expert knowledge of the club and his general enthusiasm, which really helped us to decide on joining. Negative experience: My encounter with this company has been nothing short of a rollercoaster of disappointment. After eagerly booking an event and parting with a deposit, the nightmare began. I was repeatedly assured by various staff members that a refund was imminent. However, out of the blue, a mysterious list of issues surfaced, seemingly fabricated and utterly ridiculous. The management staff's conduct was shockingly unprofessional; their lack of skills and poor communication skills were glaringly evident. Mike, the supposed ringmaster of this circus, couldn't even articulate a coherent sentence. It's baffling how individuals with such incompetence manage to hold these positions. Weeks have passed, promises of a refund echoed in my ears, only to be met with deafening silence now. Ignored and left hanging, it's become abundantly clear that customer satisfaction is a foreign concept to them. The frustration and betrayal of trust linger, turning what was supposed to be a joyous occasion into a distressing ordeal. In the interest of your sanity and peace of mind, steer clear of CCJ, an establishment marred by unfulfilled promises, unprofessionalism, and a blatant disregard for their patrons. The warning is crystal clear: booking an event here is a decision you'll regret, and the echoes of disappointment will resonate long after the occasion has passed.

Positive experience: We went to the bar after a workout and were very pleasantly surprised by how lovely the food was. The burger and fries were really nicely done- hand made and prepared with care. Tasted lovely. The veggie curry was also incredible. It was a wholesome vegan dish that was full of flavour and was lovely to see the nutritious additions of the lentils, and the interesting popadom bowl with a little chutney. Really lovely experience overall.

Negative experience: Though the pace is nice, the lady who acts like the host in the cafe/bar is a bit rude. Our 2 year old was running around being a little bit loud and she came in telling us to calm her down as it's bothering "her guests" and went on further to tell us how we should parent her in a passive aggressive manner. I have been here every weekend cause my son has his swimming lessons here and seen men come in after playing golf and be equally loud and I haven't seen her telling them off. So I suppose her judgement and advice on manners is only reserved for people who don't look like her i.e non-white.

Negative experience: Signed up as a member as part of a New Year health kick but then got assigned a work project which would only leave me with weekend time. So I cancelled my membership within the 14 days and I asked for a refund of around £200. Countless promises made to refund me. Regrettably my calls and emails are now being ignored completely and still no refund.

Negative experience: My friend and I visited the Cambridge Country Club on Sunday 26th November for the wellbeing spa day - Unfortunately we've both been left feeling less than impressed by our first visit to the facilities and the lack of a full response when I emailed Cambridge Country Club directly about this. The facilties are not big enough to accommodate the volume of people they book in. There are 3 heated seats in the himalayan room, 4 chairs in the relaxation room and 8 loungers by the pool, which is open to all, not specifically spa guests. The steam room was broken, there were tiles from the pool laying on the poolside, and the sauna accommodates at a squeeze 6. There were at least 18 people using the spa facilities the day we went. You have to walk from the changing rooms downstairs, past reception (in a public area) to the spa upstairs and the spa showers located upstairs leaked through the facilities whilst we were there so there were staff members rushing about jumping over puddles whilst we were trying to relax. I'm coeliac and the food I was given contained gluten, thankfully I sat and waited to confirm this before consuming what I had been served from my gluten free choices. For £165 per person, we were expecting a high quality facility, however we don't feel we have received value for money from the Cambridge Country Club. Rather than leaving a 1star review we wanted to give the opportunity for the company to respond first, but they didn't!

Firstly, may I apologise your day didn’t meet expectations which I would like to address below: Our Spa Lunch comes from our Cotto restaurant downstairs, although we do ask for seating times, this is not the time your food will be served as we need to make sure you arrive before notifying the kitchen to prepare your food. We do only have one member of staff as they are just bringing up the food and serving from the downstairs kitchen, therefore having no kitchen duties. Timings are dependent on the restaurant timings as per a normal restaurant. I have spoken with the restaurant manager and the biscuit crumb was indeed gluten free as advertised but the chef did remove this element for you on the second plate to make sure you felt as ease with the food. I was made aware the shower room had flooded on this day which I must apologise for, a plumber was called out the same day and the issue was resolved but I am sorry this impacted your relaxation. We are looking at booking times out for the Himalayan Salt room to allow everybody a slot, so guests aren’t waiting to use this element. I am very sorry the Steam room was out of action on your visit, it is now open. I have passed your lovely feedback onto your therapist, and you are correct, we always check your medical questionnaires on our system prior to carrying out any treatment. Fantastic experience: I went to the Cambridge country club with mother for our spa package on the 28.11.2023 and it was amazing. As two black women we felt completely comfortable and everybody so lovely and warm. The spa looks exactly like the pictures advertised on their website and it was clean. The only bad thing is that when you are in the Himalayan salt room you can hear the massage therapist walk back and forth which sometimes felt disruptive when we were trying to sleep but literally everything else was great.

Fantastic experience: I’ve just come back from a mindful spa day and it was so, so lovely! I would recommend to anyone. The place itself is stunning. The facilities are great and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I’ve been on lots of spa days and this is up there with the best. If you get chance to go, definitely do.

Fantastic experience: Great 18 holes on this testing course that needs a lot of thought to navigate the variable holes , well manicured greens and all fairways well cut to enable you to get the ball on route to the greens , credit to the greenkeeping staff , all other staff were welcoming and the sausage rolls were the best that I have ever had !!!!!!!!!! well done Cambridge Country Club , you have cracked it , many thanks for the use of your facilities , enjoyed the experience , regards from John Umney , Michael Curran and James Hewlett , Pavenham Park Golf Club , Bedford...................

Positive experience: An older review - enjoyed my spa day here for my birthday, the site and complex itself is immaculate and very modern, nothing has been spared from its design. There were a few people also on day spa entries when I visited, on arrival we were given our robes and towels for use of the facilities but a few of us did talk amongst ourselves that a bit of extra information about where to go, what times, other restrictions etc would have been useful. That particular day, it was noted the pool had a temperature fault so was running cooler than usual- this wasn’t too bad. Spa treatments were enjoyable and good products were used; therapists were all very friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t have said it was ‘up there’ with the best massages I have had, but a relaxing experience nonetheless. The meal served was delicious, though no drinks top ups were offered and I didn’t get any of the fizz that made the rounds... I guess being solo and staff seating me away in the corner made me a bit easier to forget about! It’s probably better as a couples experience, treat for parents or friends.

Fantastic experience: Played 18 holes on good testing course,whilst our wife's had a Spa day.We then had dinner in the bar area and watched the tennis final on the large screens .Food is not fussy but served hot and tasty ,I had the pasta of the day and it was delicious. The staff in the bar and Spa are very friendly and it has a nice atmosphere.

Negative experience: Feeling left very underwhelmed by the spa experience. Not all facilities were working and not good value for money. I would not recommend or return
Fantastic experience: Great amenities - clearly lots of recent investment. Course is lovely and was in good condition though the greens were not as nice as expected. Paid £40 for a two ball in late afternoon tee off so good price
Fantastic experience: Very nice golf course and great value.
Negative experience: Went there for a NHS out sourced scan, quite a windy drive down B-roads. The place is a great reminder of wealth inequality, marble white floors, sterile building and lots of young pretty receptionist to great the older male costumers.
Hi Gamu, I am not sure I fully understand your review? We work hard to maintain our high standards at the Club. Please be ware that we are a country club and are accessed off the B1046 but it is a wide single carriageway road but it is not overly windy. I hope all went will with your scan, but did you mean to leave a 1 star review?
Fantastic experience: Beautiful clubhouse, absolutely lovely golf course, really friendly staff, and the best croque monsieur I've ever had!
