Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex

Negative experience: Changing rooms are always dirty, mouldy and smelly. While the changing rooms do need refurbishment the environment would be a lot more pleasant if it was clean. Can only assume the most basic of inspections to maintain standards don't take place.

Negative experience: Unhelpful receptionist

Negative experience: Good pool. Bit dirty. In need of updating. Would go only if there is no other option.

Negative experience: Gave me wrong information over the phone and after travelling 10 miles with the kids to find out you need a membership just to swim which should be free anyway. On arrival staff played it dumb like the conversation never happened and was very arrogant about it and turned us away which made my youngest son cry would give 0 stars if it was an option.

Positive experience: Went to inquire about adult swimming, after a stroke. The receptionist was very helpful and gave me some leaflets on times, prices etc

Negative experience: Smelt of feces , staff were rude when help was needed and allowed other customers to be rude,showers were very unclean with mould everywhere very unhappy experience I don’t reccomend, and I won’t be going back !

Fantastic experience: For the price this offers great facilities - a little dated, hence the upcoming improvements, but clean and in good working order. Enjoyed a lane swim and asked the friendly staff about the toddler pool which sounds ideal for bringing the baby for his first few swims. Nice added surprise that the sauna and steam room are included in the swim ticket price - can't go wrong really!

Negative experience: The sauna is dirty smells of Bodley function’s when we ask the staff about it they just laughed it of definitely do not go without a tetanus shot first

Negative experience: None of vending machines in use. Asked duty manager about this he told me to go local shop, after my swim he asked if I wanted a free bottle of water? Also had to pay for my son even though it is supposed to be free swimming for kids as I had forgotten his card even though the staff know he goes for lessons there. Not great reception skills

Fantastic experience: First time at a public pool for many years, arrived early and met by a delightful woman who was just having her morning cuppa. I felt so welcomed I decided to join the early morning swimming club, a real bargain too. Pool was great and those participating in the early morning swim were lovely. Can't wait to go again tomorrow. Lovely staff, nice pool and brilliant atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: After just purchasing a caravan at Witton Castle we visited this swimming pool today for the first time. We live in county Durham and our local pool is also ran by Durham council and the customer service there leaves a lot to be desired Today however at Woodhouse was a completely different experience Every member of staff went above and beyond and made our first visit an extremely enjoyable one. We cant wait to become regular visitors here!

Positive experience: Great pool, I can't speak for the Gym but the pool and changing room facility's are nice, definitively in need of an upgrade but i hear that is coming! the food is nice in the upstairs cafe and the staff are always friendly, if you fancy doing a few laps do yourself a favour and get down there!
