Fantastic experience: Great kids swimming lessons, the lady who ran the lesson was super friendly and the instructors are great. Very glad I switch from North City to here.

Negative experience: Worst gym in Manchester. Always broken machines and missing dumbells. Expensive.

Negative experience: This place has so much potential to be a great leisure centre, but it's let down by the cleanliness, it stinks of mould and the changing rooms and bathrooms are disgusting. Most of the staff are very friendly, except one short lady in her late 40s early 50s that wears a dark blue t-shirt her people skills need a substantial amount of work

Negative experience: The leisure centre went completely down hill. The swimming pool is so overcrowded, I’m paying membership every month just to stand in a pool and cannot move anywhere, there should be some kind of limit especially during summer holidays where parents come with their kids. The health and safety are not considered either, really angry and disappointed, I’ll be looking to go somewhere else!

Negative experience: There are not enough machines in the gym. The gym and locker rooms aren’t cleaned adequately or frequently enough. Shutting at 5pm on a Saturday and Sunday is not good enough. It should be open till 10pm on weekends.

Negative experience: Scammers. We've had a complaint open with them for months about discrimination of an autistic person. They ignore us and refuse to respond to the complaint. They keep taking the money, though.

Positive experience: the east Manchester leisure centre is very big they have a variety of things available such as cycling, gym, swimming, and many more I would highly suggest going here and what they can improve is there members of staff there is only limited people at the front desk

Positive experience: Great pool for any age. Good changing rooms, clean showers. The gym is small, unfortunately, the choice of machines leaves much to be desired, but basic training with free weights you can still do it here. Every weekend I see children's birthday parties here with inflatable obstacle courses.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending this pool regularly for swim fitness. It's a lovely pool and mostly quiet with minimal congestion on the lanes. The changing rooms have ample space and are kept clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. I really enjoy my swims here and it's definitely improving my fitness

Fantastic experience: Hi there! My son just started his swimming lessons this afternoon. Receptionists were super friendly and very helpful. I would say 5* for their work. Swimming teacher was also doing a great job, he paid attention to every single child. I hope my little one will be able ti swim just like a fish . About the building itself: it is nice to step in, well maintained. I would say give it a go! My son was so anxious about swimming, after his first lesson he wants to go every day, asking me for membership . Fist impression is really good! Cannot wait to go again!

Fantastic experience: This is my local leisure centre. It has swimming pool, a gym and Zumba and yoga classes. Facilities are tody and clean. Staff is lovely.

Negative experience: My child has swimming classes in this centre for 2yrs now and is still in the same group. When last year he didint move for the next level, I have been told that was because he didn't go during August (he didn't go because we were on holidays). Anyway I thought wouldn't be a bad thing stay in the same class so I obliged. 1 month ago I asked to your staff in the reception when would he be able to pass to the next level and they didn't know but I could see on the computer that 40% of his skills were marked as good and the rest 60% was never accessed even after 2 years of swimming lessons in your centre and 7 different teachers. Last week a new teacher said that he should go to the next level (amber group) and so today he went to his first lesson in the amber group. At the end of this class the teacher told me that he needed to go back to the red group because he couldn't float and the teacher couldn't spend time teaching him (exactly his words). My question is if the teacher can't spend his time teaching him why are the teacher being paid? How do you think a child will feel going back to the previous level? Is 1 lesson enough for a child to show his skills when he is still getting used to new teacher and new skills. I'm very disappointed with the way swimming lessons are manage in your centre. Hope you can take on consideration parents views and can improve your services. By the way I sent 1 month ago a email to Natalie but so far no answer.

Fantastic experience: Spacious and well equipped gym, great pool.

Negative experience: My children have swimming lessons here and the showers are so cold that most kids cry or refuse to shower. For Healthy and safety reasons please do sort this out. I spoke with the deputy manager and he said only 4 showers work. This is a very busy gym and having only 3 or 4 working warm water is not good. My husband and another family complained in winter and they got the same response. Better gym this by far is not acceptable we are paying each month for both shower services especially before getting in the gym for hygiene reasons. Not a very happy customer before I take my business somewhere else.

Positive experience: Proper average gym. Its pretty small and equipment is getting old. Cardio equipment ia often wobbly or not working. Should put more equipment in the studio area. Hardly see anyone using classes so would be better for more gym space. Have to pay for the full centre too. Cant just pay cheaper monthly membership for just gym. Havent used the pool. Always looks busy when i go. Annoyingly this is my closest gym. Would prefer puregym.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and a super clean leisure centre

Negative experience: My child take swimming lessons here. The female instructors have been brilliant with him. The male instructor on the other hand shows no empathy towards children and takes a military style approach to his lessons. If your child does not listen to what is being said, they are singled out and shamed in front of all children. I can understand if they were being disruptive, but this was for not listening to an instruction to move to an empty space. His methods of teaching needs to be reviewed because all you need to do is go up to the child and tell them, not just order them to step out of the line and sit in front of everyone else to be shamed. If I want this military treatment, I would have sent my child to the army. I would also like to point out this is the same instructor that pushed my son into the pool when he didn't want to jump in. Any instructor know you should never do this to a child. So what was the consequence of this? Yes you guessed it, he had a phobia of going into a pool and refused to go swimming. It took us months to make him overcome this phobia by going into a pool with him in our spare time before we decided to take lessons again. Obviously, only if this male instructor was not teaching. Unfortunately my son has this same instructor again after moving up to his group from beginners and it will be the last with him. He clearly does not know how to treat children and shouldn't be teaching children at all.

Also the pool is quite cold, my 1 year old was shivering. Please turn it up! Casual swim pool is a little small but overall I like coming here.

Positive experience: I went to this leisure centre thrice. It was clean and huge. My service user with ASD who accessed swimming in this centre did not show any challenging behaviour or have any issues which he used to have in another centre. Everything went well, except the third time we went. A staff came to us and asked if I have lost control of my service user when my service user jumped into the deep pool after finished swimming in the shallow family pool. He is a good swimmer and would come out from the deep pool after a jump. However, I reckon those words were definitely not good words to use. As a support worker, we don't control our service users, we allow them freedom to enjoy whatever they like in the community at the same time pre-empt the surrounding taking into account public and service user's safety. I am aware that if we don't book for 'swimming for fitness', we shouldn't have accessed the deep pool. However, we allowed him to jump in as firstly, it won't cause any risk to the public, secondly, he would get out from the pool within 5mins and from another perspective, we did not wish to cause him frustration which potentially lead to meltdown. I hope the management could train the staff about having awareness and understanding of service users with autism condition and/or other condition and considering the words used. Thank you.

Negative experience: Very bad gym for juniors because they don’t have enough time in there I would recommend pure gym because it is bigger and more equipment plus it never closes

Positive experience: I go here for swimming with my children, now two of them can swim i am able to take all 4 of them on my own without needing another adult. The only thing i hate about this pool is the booking system you can't buy a family pass on there so ends up costing alot more and you don't get alot of time. There is free carpark and a bus stop right outside

Negative experience: Not a permanent teacher for kids swimming classes..every week new teacher & some time life guards conduct classes.mentioned several time to ANDREW BELL but not resolved yet.Iooks Management is not helping ANDREW BELL to resolve this issue because i never had complain since last 4 years. Also want to mention that PAULA is one of best professional teacher. Please bring your standards back to where they were.

Negative experience: Check your bank when booking anything here,money was taken out of my wifes account and there saying it's not them. She only goes here and money was taken out of her account,she has the sort code that took the money and it's from here but they wont admit it. SO CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT IF YOU BOOK HERE

Negative experience: Not an enjoyable swim this morning... People swimming fast in the slow lane. Then a fast swimmer swopped the board from slow to medium and nothing was done when I mentioned it to the lifeguard. Just because we swim in the slow lane does not give the faster ones carte blanche to change the signs.....!!

Positive experience: The gym is pretty average as far as gyms go, pool is a decent size and staff are friendly. Gym kit sometimes wobbly when in use and some of the cardio machines click/grind when operated. Odd setup in the pool changing area, where the general public can access the shower area. You often get a lot of men on their phones stood next to adults and kids showering (for long durations). I’m surprised this is allowed in honestly and makes showering quite uncomfortable.

Negative experience: DO NOT send your child to swimming lessons at this centre. Never experienced such shocking standards. Instructors not watching the children. My child was left to get in the pool with no arm bands on her first lesson. She went under the water . My child now has a fear that she didn't have before after a lesson. Disgusted shocked to say the least

Negative experience: Extremely Dangerous to Workout in Gym due to Unsupervised Kids. I hadn't been here for 4 years but not much seems to have changed, while the gym and dressing rooms are clean - the scariest thing was that 10-15+ kids were allowed to run around the gym, completely unsupervised, leaving weights for people to trip over and swinging off machines as they were being used. 4 Kids next to me while I was on the Smith Machine kept swinging off the machine or walking dangerously close and then were lifting the bench press bar next to me and it dropped on one of them and the other kids just laughed. Staff walked through maybe once or twice in my hour there but said absolutely nothing to the kids or made any effort to stop them.

Positive experience: Perfect for kids swimming lessons. The tutors are all very professional. Most staff are friendly and approachable. The only negative thing about this place is its cleanliness- definitely could be better.

Negative experience: I visited this place recently, very clean and appealing atmosphere, with gym and pool facility. Staff is always short and very rude. I took my kids there for swimming and when i went to reception to ask for an issue i was told ,i dont know by one of the staff . Swimming instructors are also rude. Other rhen staff it is a good centre.

Positive experience: A plus for the leisure activities. Absolutely clean. But staff is awful. Ist of all its always short of staff and if u r lucky enuff to be served by a staff member then he/she will be least helpful. Ample free parking .

Fantastic experience: Great spacious and bright 25m swimming pool, monitored by 2-3 lifeguards. Unisex changing rooms with cubicles, shower cubicles with locks, disabled toilet.

Positive experience: Fab pool and lovely staff apart from 1 lifeguard who dosent seem to like having children (my son is over 11 and a better swimmer than most people I know) in the lane swimming, telling him he's not allowed to rest after doing quite a few laps, and I witnessed her removing another child and making her go into the small pool, when she could clearly swim well. I can not fault anything else atall, changing rooms and showers (a little hot) are spotless. And all the other staff are fantastic.

Fantastic experience: I've been swimming here 3 times a week since April and the staff are always friendly and helpful, the pool is clean as are the lockers and showers, for £16 a month I think this leisure centre is amazing value!

Negative experience: Appalling experience at East Manchester leisure centre. I was having difficulty booking my kids online, so, I went there for help and the receptionist that was there could not help me with my booking, after more than half an hour of waiting there they decided to call the manager of the place which was completely reluctant to even look into what the issues was. She just handed an email address to me for the booking, as was there with my kids and they were very excited to go for swimming, I decided to try and do the booking right there in the centre by myself thinking that the staff would help with any difficulties that may arise, so I managed to get the booking done by asking the staff the information and the name of the leisure centre which told me. I took my kids to the swimming class and I was told that my kids swimming lessons wasn't booked at that centre, I was told it was booked in another centre even if they were the ones who gave all the details and even confirmed my bookings for me. I was so different and kids were crying because they couldn't swim there . I wanted my refund and I was told they can't refund me in the centre and that I have to request my refund through email. Please stay away if don't want problems.

Fantastic experience: My name is Mandy this is my daughters email The life guards are help full some go out of there way to help I must say nile on reception and Steve and Dave from the pool and Zoe the manager they are very nice people they go above and beyond to help I’ve mention these as when people say the staff are rude witch I don’t think they are they are all polite and helpful I have mentioned these 4 as these are the ones I go to if I have any questions the staff are all very friendly and Me and my friends have been coming since the day it opened We go 5 days a week before Covid now only 3 of us go 5 times as the other 5 go 3 times as the quad witch is the small pool only opens 3 days a week at 6.30 besides Swiming or walking in pool for are joints we go as some of us live alone and it’s the only time we see people to communicate with the 8 of us that go at 6.30 until 7.45 are aged between 50 and 84 some are disabled and some are pensioners will be more happy when we get 5 days a week back in quad pool besides us there are many more people in and we all get along with the new and regular people who come to the pool

Fantastic experience: Nice big pool, looks clean and well-maintained. Double width lanes for social distancing. Even with covid safety measures you can still use the changing rooms both before and after you swim which is convenient. Lots of lockers or you can leave your bag on a ledge next to the pool. Hardly anyone there when I went on a Tuesday lunchtime.
