Positive experience: Visiting PG member from Sussex. Came for a Friday evening work out. First impressions was ‘Damn this place is messy!’ Almost tempted to make my workout putting all the plates, bars, matts & dumbbells back in their rightful places. - come on gym goers, do better! Was pretty tricky finding any kit I wanted, plus the TRX for the sledge is pretty tired looking. The gym space itself felt spacious and I did feel safe as one of the few women there that eve. Changing room is spacious. Showers were ok but need the button pressing every 10th second. Overall an ok visit but goers & staff just need to take better care of the place.

However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym. We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team. If you have any specific concerns relating to this matter, please speak with a member of the gym team where they will be able to assist further. Thanks, PureGym

Negative experience: Disappointed how the classes keep changing. I really liked Sharmin’s strength classes which are the only ones my friend and I would attend. Will these be reinstated?

Fantastic experience: Great gym experience! First time ever in Cardiff (and in Wales) and booked a day pass and did not disappoint! The staff was super friendly and the equipment was just awesome! Super recommend it

Fantastic experience: Started going to this gym in October. I've never commited to exercise before and so jumped on the chance of having a personal trainer show me the ropes. Vanessa Moreno is fantastic for new starts and those wanting a bit of guide. Her kettlebell classes on Thursday leave you pumped and thrilled. If anyone wishes to take the leap into fitness, Vanessa is the go to person to help you with that.

Negative experience: The Fyre Festival of gyms. Unfortunately they promise the world but do little to provide the services they say they will. I've attended many gyms over the years but this is by far the worst. Do not recommend if you are looking to achieve your cardio goals by attending classes here.

Positive experience: This is now one of my "regular" spots to go to along with my local home puregym. All easy access before work. It's easy to compare with age, I can see some things are worn down. But that's not surprising. But the lack of structure on how things are put away are poor. I know as a member we should take responsibility. But it does look as though when "tidy up" should be done by staff, it's not done well or at all. To find 14kg dumbells in amongst 50kgs and 32kgs all over the place was a bit frustrating. It was a shambles. And this was all at 6.30am. So whether or not this is the aftermath of frequent use through the 24/7 usage who knows. I have also noticed staff do not make themselves completely visible when I have been there in staff operating hours. This is not all of the time but often. So when I have needed help I've not known who I can approach.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym

Negative experience: Very disappointed with my 3days pass that I bought to use from 25th Dec to 27th Dec while in Cardiff during the year end festive period. When we reached the gym on 25th morning a hand written note on front door said closed!! No staff around to help.Their website says open 24/7 with no indication of different opening times during these days. I called their telephone number on several times but it was useless automated with no one answering asking me to send email. I wrote four times via email asking for a full refund because we were leaving on 27th and the 3days pass would be useless for us, but no response from anyone in Puregym - it's now 2nd January 2024! Not professionally managed customer service with no way to get help and unresponsive especially when everything is run via email/online by them! My first and last time with them

Fantastic experience: Friday nights bodytone with Sharmin is fantastic. You really feel like jelly after. She is a great trainer, excellent intensity and knowledge. The classes work well for me and I'm seeing results in a short time. I would like to see more classes focusing on flexibility

Fantastic experience: Cardiff Central is such a top quality gym. Spacious, tons of equipment and a really good vibe. The team are approachable and friendly, meaning I feel energised to want to learn more about fitness/development, and also what my body can take, when here. I'm from Cardiff, but live in Kent, & really wish my local branches of Dover and Canterbury were as big as this. They fell way more cramped and fill up so quickly putting me off from visiting regularly, and the equipment range isn't as vast. Much love to Cardiff Central PureGym

Fantastic experience: The strength and body pump classes with Nathan are absolutely top notch, he's so motivating and attentive! Sharmin is an absolute machine and such a motivational teacher, her body tone classes are so good for the soul and excellent fun!

Fantastic experience: Ive been an athlete my whole life, mainly cycling all around the world professionally. however I’ve just started strength training, mainly guided by the classes provided in the gym. And honestly I can say that Coach Nathan Morgan is by far one of the best coaches I’ve ever trained with and I actively seek out his classes to maximise the benefits of my workouts! I am consistently impressed by his exceptional professionalism, approachability, and passion for his job. His genuine care for each individual attending the class is remarkable! He takes the time to provide personalised attention and offers advice to correct posture or assist with challenging movements without affecting the class dynamic or flow. His positive and inspiring demeanour creates an atmosphere of motivation and enthusiasm. His energy is truly contagious, and it is evident that he genuinely enjoys what he does. This not only makes each class enjoyable but also encourages me to push myself further and strive for my personal best. It is clear that he possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise in his field, and his dedication to helping individuals achieve their fitness goals is commendable.

Positive experience: Gym looked nice and clean, well tended to. Only trouble is the first time going my qr code wouldn't work and there were no staff to assist, I tried contacting them via social media which wasn't very helpful

If there are any issues with the live QR code available through the PureGym App the gym PIN can be entered into the keypad, just press 'OK' for it to be accepted. During staffed hours staff will respond as soon as possible, you can check the un-staffed hours of your gym through the website. Member Services respond as soon as possible to DMs, or emails, but we are not based at the gym. We will be able to advise on any issues once we can locate your membership. In the meantime, I really do hope this does not put you off from attending the gym. Thanks, PureGym

Negative experience: The showers have been cold last few days. I love this gym! Amazing location and enjoy waking up early getting a hot shower and workout in everyday But now the showers are cold and i told by an instructor “they wont be changing anytime soon”, Doesnt make me fee like i want to go back to this gym Can we please have the shower back where they were for las few months I dont think many member will appreciate this Either make them ice cold or hot :) Thank you

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym with lots of equipment I've never had a problem finding a free piece of equipment. Never needed to speak to staff however they are always around if I did.

Negative experience: I went to the gym to get some info about the offer and how to join? I gave them a knock by one member of that gym but unfortunately waited one hour, no one came then left the place

Fantastic experience: Can somebody confirm when will be gym open again? I cant use other puregym in cardiff so Im about to swap gyms if it is going to be closed a few days more

Negative experience: Hello . Yesterday, one of your coaches named Damon treated me very badly. I was really upset and I emailed you this position, but you did not answer me. A coach has no right to upset an athlete. I have been upset with your coaches twice and maybe I will change my club. Please address this position.

Fantastic experience: After a 9 year relationship came to an end for me in August 2021, I was in a very bad place mentally n perhaps physically. After not stepping foot in a gym for probably 7 or 8 years, a good friend suggested that I join PUREGYM CARDIFF CENTRAL, to help keep me occupied around my work hours. Honestly, the way it's helped me the last 9 months has been immense. It's helped me with my mental health AND physically because of the endorphins that are created in you, during the work out. It sounds a cliché buy it's honestly true and I've heard others say similar. My friend added me as his plus one back in September last year, but I enjoyed it so much, that within a week or 2, I decided to sign up as a fully fledged member. I went religiously during September - November 2021, but as I work in retail in Cardiff City Centre, at Christmas, that took over and I was too shattered to go to the gym for a couple of months. I started back around February - March 2022, with my friend and others, and now go on average about 3 times a week, around my work. I prefer to go with friends but occasionally by myself. I definitely recommend PUREGYM on many levels, and you never feel lonely there, either and it's a great way of escapism! Thank you PUREGYM :-) x ️

Negative experience: Working away for work so thought I’d try here. Staff seemed friendly enough when I first went in. However it was soon apparent that they aren’t keen on actually doing any work and would much rather stand around doing nothing. I spent more time finding the dumbbells and plates I needed than I did actually working out!!

It is in the Gym Rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times or outside of staffed hours especially it can be hard to police this. Staff on site do everything they can whilst we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights area and are always looking for new ways to combat this. Positive experience: A very convenient location and overall a good, spacious layout. This branch overlooks the River Taff, located along Millennium Walk and next to the Principality Stadium. Free weights area is a short walk past the cardio semi-circle (from what I remember..).

Negative experience: Ceiling collapsed destroyed me and Skelts sausage rolls. We brought them all the way from the wangford village store. Got touched up by the owner too.

Negative experience: Shocking Gym for anyone who isn't a beginner. One deadlift platform, which has stupid sinking material to the sides and literally craters in it so it's barely useable. No squat racks on solid ground, it's like squatting on grass and some flooring gives way. Lack of olympic plates. Don't go here for squatting or deadlifting.

Fantastic experience: Great concept and place. PureGym is truly pure gym as the name implies. 24 hours gym, with everything you need. What's more, their free classes and booking system is second to none. What's more impressive, during the lockdown, they provided free at-home training and exercise videos on their app to both members and non-members. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Returned from the Covid lockdown with confidence that the gym will still have excellent facilities, be well maintained and safe as can be expected in this era. Not too busy, no queuing and abundance of sanitising product.

Fantastic experience: Great kit and even better air conditioning. Friendly staff always good for a chat. But don't stare at people when you go because then you're ruining it for everyone. And that's no good is it? No. No it isn't.

Fantastic experience: The classes in this gym are all excellent but the new KETTLEBELL CLASS is just FANTASTIC!!! Honestly it is the best thing to happen to the puregym classes and I've been doing them for years. Long may it continue! It's a genius idea and I am already feeling the benefits physically and mentally!
Fantastic experience: Update: they finally fixed them! The chance of this gym fixing the power pressure of the toilet taps in the men's toilet are equivalent to Tottenham winning a trophy. Otherwise perfect gym.
