Negative experience: Came here on 12/10 at 11:40 asking for some information on children's activities, swimming lessons etc. The girl at reception is extremely rude and unprofessional, not answering to a greeting, and answering to my questions with an annoyed face and tone with "like what? You have everything online, just check it" Shame that doing her job is such a burden. I wonder what her role is then

Negative experience: First visit got for physio receptionist I came across on the 2nd floor rude. I just hope I’m sitting in the right place. Just told it’s the doctors took my name and pointed to right still sitting here. Very unwelcoming. Guess what I was in the wrong place no help from her upstairs. The lady at front very helpful downstairs near entrance. After getting a call to see where I was I asked her and she took me to the physio part downstairs.

Negative experience: The male changing room has been infested with flying insects for several months. In recent weeks the problem has gotten worse. It's disgusting that the management has neglected basic hygiene and cleaning for so long.

Negative experience: The place came across as a little unwelcoming and the library staff was also rude. One of the yoga instructors didn't bother with a warm-up and expected people to practice a shoulder stand.

Positive experience: Low cost community gym. I tried a few of the classes; tutors friendly but routines are basic and repetitive eg. Pilates is a lot of lying on your back making leg circles for 45m. I'm a total beginner but there are much better (free) classes on YouTube.

Positive experience: Swimming pool: I contracted a very nasty ear infection from the main pool at the GC when it was being used for multiple kids' swimming lessons simultaneously with lane swimming. Sadly this is a bit unavoidable in high-traffic pools as e coli and cryptospodorium growth is rife and often reaches swimmers before chlorine levels can adequately kill them. I hope staff regularly monitor chlorine levels however I would recommend those with compromised immune systems use goggles, ear plugs and swimming hats and avoid swimming alongside large kids' groups in the main pool.

Fantastic experience: I was at the adult health program and it was really lovely working with Sarah.

Positive experience: Useful, funny, activating, warm and charming! Definitely, their health programs must be attended, totally worthy!

Negative experience: All the other staff were really nice and helpful but I had an unpleasant experence as a staff there ignored me at the entrance (around 7:25pm today, wearing green t-shirt) and also discriminated against me. definitely frustrated for the first time here.

Negative experience: Imagine a gym closing 5pm on Saturdays...

Positive experience: I bring my daughter for swimming lessons. The pool is good and the changing rooms are maintained well and kept clean. One small gripe is that the changing rooms are quite cold on getting out of the pool. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to the gym with great pleasure for a whole year now! The atmosphere is very friendly and warm. The trainers are always ready to support and help. Thanks to Coach Silviya for her attentive attitude to each visitor, useful advice, and warm welcomes!

Negative experience: Never had such a hard time booking a swimming time slot even with a membership. Every time we try to book we can’t due to the amount that of swimming lessons they have at this pool! The fact I pay £40 a month and can’t even use the facilities is ridiculous. Even when there is a slot it says on the app that it’s only for 10 minutes. The changing rooms also constantly smell and the floors are covered in mud from parents who don’t follow the changing room rules and leave their shoes on. Absolute joke.

Negative experience: The changing facility and pool was absolutely disgusting,It looked like no one cleaned It in weeks. There was hair and dirt all over the floor and strong urine odour! I will be reporting this place to local authorities as this is a health and safety hazard for a public place.

Negative experience: I’ve raised this with management a few times already. The showers are not cleaned regularly enough, hair and dead moths stay on walls for weeks. And very much alive moths fly all around the locker room. It feels very unhygienic and it’s really unacceptable. A shame as most of the staff are very friendly and the fitness classes are amazing. It really needs a big effort on hygiene please!

Fantastic experience: I took part in Weight Loss with Better program and achieved weight loss and it was a very positive experience and treated individuals with respect and dignity. Everyone reacted positively to the experiences with Sarah and Luke.

Fantastic experience: Starting a gym is one of the best decisions in my life. The Greenwich Centre is a great place to learn how to build up your confidence in doing exercise. The swimming pool, group sessions and machines at the gym cover all you need. I learned a lot from Sarah, Debbie and Gavin. I enjoy the group sessions more than doing exercise alone. The instructors are very professional and encouraging. I also appreciate Silviya, the fitness instructor, who is always very kind and helpful whenever I need help. I recommend everyone to start doing exercise for their well-being and enjoy the facilities that the Greenwich Centre offers.

Fantastic experience: My gym experience is best. The gym is superb and down to Earth. Silviya and Sarah and staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. There is an issue with a piece of gym equipment needing repair but they assure me it is scheduled to be fixed

Fantastic experience: Library, public swimming pool, community space, toliet, various council services. The Greenwich Centre is community focused and is a nice place to stop by during your journey or to idle some time away.

Positive experience: Enjoy the library, though it is limited to so many books, PC's are busy here. The better gym is due for a refit, hope for better.

Fantastic experience: I joined the 12 week weight management,my instructor was Sarah who who is extremely friendly and welcoming,has a very wide range of knowledge about this and been amazing in teaching me about my diet,giving me my self confidence back,helping me lose weight,exercises that I hadn’t tried before ,the equipment in the gym is very good as well,a very friendly environment and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, especially if you’re going to sign up for Sarah’s Tuesday classes.

Negative experience: Sooo much antisocial behaviour outside this building! Can’t you tell your members to stop loitering and keep the noise down outside the premises. It’s a nightmare to live near here.

Fantastic experience: Joined the gym and the healthwise program recently. Sarah my instructor has been really helpful in raising awareness about foods/ labels and healthier lifestyle options as well as offering support in building my confidence using all the different equipment.

Negative experience: can the nappy bins in the swimming pool changing rooms be emptied more frequently - the smell of wee today was overwhelming!

Fantastic experience: I think, it is an amazing place.

Negative experience: I've used the leisure centre a few times, both pool and gym and was blown away with what I saw yesterday (again - it was not the first time I saw this)... I was in the pool swimming when I noticed a member of staff coming to grab water from the pool with mop buckets. He literally put the mop bucket inside the pool to collect water which I later realised was used to clean the changing rooms. Not only that he was also pouring the floor cleaning chemical into the buckets right by the pool, running the risk of contaminating the water with that. I found this to be absolutely disgusting, not only putting the mop bucket inside the pool where everyone goes to swim, but also to be using the chemicals right next to it. I later went into the changing village and noticed they were using these to clean the floor, which I just want to add that in my opinion is also not a good practice (on top of everything else). It is very common for people to be there barefoot (not my case), and if the staff are cleaning while people are walking around then I presume to be very likely someone will just put their feet on the water being used to clean which has chemicals and is potentially harmful for the skin. When looking at all this I truly question their overall cleaning practices and care for the costumers and facilities.

Fantastic experience: This Better Swimming Pool is absolutely fabulous! It's a superb venue for regular exercise and you can find times to get a lane for hardcore training if you go regularly. The tech booking is ok, but superb friendly staff such as Vickki are always on hand to help out with a smile if there are tech or access problems. Well done to the entire Better team!

Fantastic experience: I have just completed a 12 week weight management program ran by Sarah. Absolutely Amazing!! Sarah was extremely supportive, encouraging and motivating. Her nutritional and physical exercise knowledge is of a high standard. I received a wealth of information and guidance. Most of all I lost weight and improved my health and wellbeing status. Thank you so much Sarah!

Negative experience: Very bad service, I have emailed them from June to cancel my kid’s membership and they reply yes we did and until now February they are still charging me 25.50 and they didn’t give me any refund . This is not acceptable. Not trustworthy and i will not recommend it for anyone

Positive experience: Love all the group fitness classes here, especially Katy (spin), Alex (dance aerobics), Renata (pilates) and Marc (yoga). The centre could do with better cleaning and maintenance (hence not 5*) but overall offers great value for money.

Fantastic experience: WOWWWW! What a centre!!!!! Craps all over Parkwood any day. Staff… I mean where do I start. Absolutely amazing. They’re very welcoming and helpful upon every visit. The building is near spotless, maintained amazingly. Couldn’t fault anyone at The Greenwich Centre. Cannot wait to return. (jc give me my bags)

Fantastic experience: Great experience and good price for a swim. I signed up with the Greenwich One Card through the website, which made the price for an off peak swim £3.40. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well. You did need a 20p for a the lockers but a couple of people had put their bag by the side in the pool area, so I imagine this okay when it's quiet.

Fantastic experience: I am on adult weight loss management program with instructor Sarah, she’s such an amazing coach motivator and helps us in every situation. I will continue to come to gym and definitely will recommend to others.

Negative experience: Its so sad to see what once was a great community gym fall by the wayside. The sheer utter contempt and disregard, the completely invisible management team have for customers, begs belief. Treadmills and other cardio machines have been without TV and internet for at least a couple of years now. Weight balls are missing and not replaced and basics such as inflating Swiss balls, appears to be an issue. Please Better Gym Management rescue our gym from its current state of entropy and apathy.

Negative experience: I have been attending the o better greenwich centre for swiming lessons for two children, I have noticed, extremely impatient two teachers, both teachers over the age of 40, seem extremely competent but not seem to be greatful with me and my children of 1 and 5 years , attending the lessons, bosting numbers, I felt unwelcome, and almost like a burden, despite paying full fees like any other parents, as from first day tried to minimise eye contact, a but felt unable speak due to fear he may receive less help during his lesson. In my opinion its unacceptable and crule to show extreme affection for one child and constant impatience for another.

Positive experience: I recently completed the Weight Loss with Better 12 week programme and I can say it was the best of these sort of programmes I have been on. It was a great course to get me motivated and help me feel more positive about myself and confident to reach my goals. It isn't just about weight loss but also interesting to learn about habits that affect us such as stress and sleep and the all-round benefits of exercise and mindful nutrition. Sarah was a brilliant coach during the programme; she is personable and motivational and extremely empathetic of all the members in the class. Having the group discussions with her and her being so open gave the support needed. The classes had a real personal touch to them which made it feel less academic and also made me feel less self conscious when it came to the physical exercise. Would absolutely recommend this programme to others.

Fantastic experience: I was in the weight loss class for 12 weeks and my instructor was Sara, I like every moment of sessions. Sara is a great instructor; she made us understand why we should keep active. We must be mindful with food portions, the sugars, the saturates and the labels, the alcohol and lot more. Today marked the end of our weight loss lessons but I’m surely going to keeping coming to the gym. I enjoyed every moment here; thanks to the other instructor I met Lee. Sara, you are great and lovely. Thanks for the experience and the encouragement

Fantastic experience: Used the family pool today with my granddaughter, we had a lovely time with floats, a well run and managed leisure centre.

Fantastic experience: Great place to come, a large space with a swimming pool, library and gym, as well as a cafe. The pool is a reasonably big one where they sometimes run classes and there is also a kids pool next to the main pool. The gym is also pretty big, with lots of running machines and lots of different sections. The library has books for all ages and in all different categories of books. I recommend coming here.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed the Weight Loss with BETTER programme at The Greenwich Centre. The course was well run and engaging with lots of interaction and discussion within the group. A lot of this was due to the Group Leader Sarah. Sarah is warm, funny, motivating and supportive. She made the exercises in the class fun. In the gym, Sarah showed you how to use the different equipment and motivated you to try them and provided alternative exercises like Swimming, Power pump, Spin and BeActive Gym to try to. I achieved my main goal which was to lose weight and reduce my blood sugar as I am a type 2 diabetic. The results were very good and more importantly, I am still motivated to continue. I have taken advantage of the Membership Offer which is really good value to ensure I stay on track. I would like to thank Sarah and the Team for their friendly open manner and encouragement.

Negative experience: After traveling 1hour Absaloutely disgusted by the service as soon as i walked in racist expressions on the managers face said it all. He goes “ how many of these lot are there???!! Then i confronted him said 2 adults n 6 children 3 teenagers and he said no u need another adult to be allowed entry i already prebooked n oaid drove an hour with kids etc for nothing! Disgusting services from 3 members of the place all i can do is give a honest review! N i hate writing a bad review!!!! Needs new management and staff asap otherwise its going down hill!!

Fantastic experience: Better leisure centre with gym, pools and various classes, a library with access to computers, story time and a crèche. WiFi included GP surgery, ESL school ( I think) all on 4 floors.... The staff are friendly especially in the library, it's nice to know they take pride in their jobs also in the gym, which is very up to date with every machine or class you'd need. Open from 6am weekdays, 8am Sat/Sun plenty of time to do a workout ‍♀️ There are also swimwear, goggles etc on sale in foyer ........ Free to join the library just bring proof of address, you can also get a tour of the leisure centre facilities before you decide to sign up

Negative experience: Update after a month, I don’t like to swim in street dirt. Yet everyone is walking in dirty shoes directly up to pools. Ton of staff doing nothing about it. 7 out of ten showers doesn’t work, there is deep limestone layer on everything, toilets doesn’t work for two weeks. Every time you come there, you enter a lottery if there is kids class, and pool is closed, which you cannot see online. You need £0.2 for changing room, £0.2 for hair dryer but £1 for another changing room, yet they don’t accept cash. There is cctv everywhere in changing rooms. “You cannot hold breath under water” As well I do not understand completely mixed changing rooms. Building looks from outside great, but when architect had to draw interior, he just went to pub. Men, women and always a ton of kids, all have to share one place, and go through one doors heading to pools.

Fantastic experience: I was actually really impressed with the swimming facilities. Took my 3 month old son for our first swim here and the facilities are excellent. Lots of family changing rooms with good sturdy baby changing tables. Lockers for 20p. And with the booking system they keep the numbers of people in the pool to an acceptable level - maybe 20 people in the learner pool but it's big enough. There's also a great viewing area for other parents to watch from.

Positive experience: Easy access. Staff friendly. Cleaning a lot better than it was especially in changing rooms but still room for improvements there. Dealt well & still got cleaning & wiping down equipment going on, which is very good & cloths still being provided, it's nice, worthwhile having a look & checking out.

Fantastic experience: Post having a baby and suffering with back pain due to lifestyle and lack of exercise I was referred to Sarah as my key contact at the Healthwise programme and through our consultations, signed up for a membership through the scheme. I now attend classes at the centre and use the gym facilities, which I find very modern and interactive - I particularly enjoy the scenic visuals on the treadmills and cross trainers that make me feel like I'm actually getting somewhere! I find Sarah herself friendly, informed and actually inspirational; she is not afraid to share her own story and fitness journey with her clients to both encourage and engage. Through our sessions together, I felt more confident to resume my fitness regime and activities post-partum and I cannot thank her enough!

Fantastic experience: I started healthwise 3 years ago and Sarah made me a plan to start getting healthy. Ive lost 4 stone in the process and i couldnt be happier. It helped with my depression and really gave me a purpose. I love the greenwich center the staff are brilliant, Pete the personal trainner is always there to give you a hand if you need it, or Steve is there to give you any support of incouragement. Sarah to boost your confidence. Even love the classes with Helen and Renatta they are fantastic teachers always encouraging you and correcting when you are not doing it properly. Very helpful team.

Fantastic experience: I like the gym. Staff are nice and helpful But what holds me at this gym (and this is personal) are the rebounding classes i go every Tuesday night. They are the light of my weeks. It is sooooo energising and the instructor is just so inspiring. The other days I do gym, normal weight lifting, which is great. Something to improve would be to have more rebounding classes through the week . However, they have good fitness classes overall.

Fantastic experience: Sarah was my personal trainer, helping me with my fitness after a stroke. She was knowledgeable, patient, understanding, fun and kind. Always looked forward to her classes as she helped so much.

Fantastic experience: I always look forward to Katie's HIIT classes she is a brilliant instructor her positivity and energy shines on people in the class plus her playlist is spot on every time I always come out of her classes feeling fabulous and on a high.
