Positive experience: The gym is great in terms of equipment and location but every time I leave right now I’m frustrated. There is an obvious issue of underage kids coming to this gym as a social event and hanging around the machines on their phone. A number of times I have been unable to use a machine because they have ‘one more set’ but will sit on their phone for a further 20 minutes. Would be great if this matter was addressed but apart from that great gym!

Negative experience: First time doing Spin with Callum. He had a nice, friendly demeanour. However the class was lacking in variety. Only one variation on straight cycling per track and only three different variations in total in the 30 minute class. The BPM was identical pretty much throughout which meant it felt quite monotonous. As I say, really nice instructor but needs mixed up more.

Fantastic experience: I was impressed with the available of equipment as it was 9am on a Saturday morning, never had to wait in any weights, very clean.

Negative experience: There seems to be lack of care from members and staff Between 8.30pm-10pm on some nights, the whole ground floor has a pungent unbearable BO (which I believe is from one member). I have to the gym when it's full on other days and the smell doesn't even come close to it. Must be poor ventilation in this building even after refurb. The cardio machines are not even maintained well. Treadmills are rocky and rock side to side even on a medium walk. One of them has been 'out of order' for 3 months now.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Positive experience: Been in a few times since refurbished and alot better. Especially downstairs area. If I could make a few points I hope you can take on board, I'll happily upgrade review to a 5 star. 1. Where's all the 2.5kg plates? Don't think I seen a single one. Need 2.5's. There isn't nearly enough 1.25kg to double up on. 2. Can yous move far right hand smith machine away from wall. You can't perform a shoulder press properly as seat can't go back far enough. Hits the wall. 3. Main point for me. Can you either move the new dip/pull up station downstairs or set up some plates beside it. You can't do weighted dips with dip belt as there is none and the Olympic plates that are there are way to big. Thanks

Negative experience: I hope the renovation sorts these issues out but only one cable machine, missing plates, no dedicated deadlift area and no assault bikes. Other gyms just massively outclass PureGym at the moment.

Positive experience: I live local to puregym and have been going for nearly 3 years now. The PTs are approachable and friendly and will help you out if need be. Sometimes equipment can be in use but if you have a good workout programme for yourself there will always be something much the same that can suffice. Evenings are too busy where friend groups huddle round machines but mornings are quieter if you prefer. At present puregym is getting an upgrade but can still get a workout in. Looking forward to seeing it complete Hoping a good amount of equipment for strength training will still be available. I can only keep dreaming about one of those hip thrust machines!

Negative experience: The gym is experiencing overcrowding, leading to longer wait times for equipment usage. The dumbbell rack is often empty, and the number of equipment is inadequate for the number of gym members. The cleanliness of the restrooms is inconsistent, and there are insufficient mirrors. The boxing class is located between the treadmill and elliptical machines, which is disruptive and distracting. The gym would benefit from more space and an overall upgrade to enhance the member experience.

Positive experience: This is my home gym but after visiting other locations like Silverburn it seems this one has been long forgotten about and overdue a revamp. Cleanliness of the male changing rooms especially the showers is poor aswell as a large amount of the lockers are starting to rust. Could be a 4/5 star location but needs some reinvesting

Positive experience: Sep 2024 Update: The gym has been bombarded by literal 10 year olds. Despite gym policy being 16 and over, a lot (and I mean a lot) of the equipment is used up by prepubescent children sitting and scrolling on their phones. Also - PUT YOUR WEIGHTS AWAY!! July 2024 Update: Renovation has been completed and this place is AWESOME for strength training now. Only critique is to get rid of the awful metal squeezy clamps and to get 100% plastic Olympic clamps as they're so much nicer/easier to fit/remove. They've added 2x extra benches (one incline, one decline), there's now EIGHT squat racks overall, with 4 of them being for deadlift. They also added a brilliant glute hip thrust machine which is awesome (no more having to load plates/deal with a bar and a bench). The only way they could make this a 5/5 is to aggressively enforce people putting their f*****g plates back, and stop ego lifters from grunting and throwing dumbbells like they're shot puts after 1 half rep of a stupidly high weight, add more Olympic bar clips, maybe add some liquid chalk, and encourage spotting (I see way too many people more willing to fail instead of getting the courage to ask for a spot from a stranger).

Negative experience: Blue roll all over the floor, not enough carabiner clips for the cable machines, there hasn't been soap in the toilet downstairs for a week, bins often overflowing. Staff don't care, only there for a wage. Manager not any better.

Positive experience: It's an okay Gym, could do with more equipment upstairs to train legs and remove the few CV machines. Alot of kids sit on machines with Phones. Classes are good, I've done Spin, Pump and Circuits. Could do with a varied barbell rack upstairs aswell as one down stairs near the rowers. Changing rooms okay not sure about the Mens.

Fantastic experience: Great Gym, not as big as the bathstreet one, however you can find everything'l you need in order to achieve your goals. Huge plus is the free parking outside

Positive experience: Exactly what 99% of people need to get started more than enough good equipment, more bumper plates probably needed for busier times, bars are great, needs normal pull up and dip stations though.

Negative experience: Turns out this gym has been charging me for nearly a year after only signing up for a 3 month subscription which was paid in full Then they tried to cancel the subscription I had no idea I was paying then recharge me a resubmission fee Absolutely ridiculous heard awful things about this gym and one of the reasons I didn't stay with pure gym And honestly gym was pretty mediocre aswell didn't even have half decent equipment

It is impossible for PureGym to charge a member who has paid for a fixed term membership a monthly fee as there are no direct debit details to do so. When purchasing a fixed term membership, members make a one off payment via card. It is impossible for us to set up a direct debit without direct debit details being entered. If you have been charged consecutive months, this would apply a monthly direct debit has been set up at the time you joined PureGym. Positive experience: Very clean and spacious gym. However, on the second floor, the gym studio isn’t very separated, or sound proofed. so it disrupts your workout due to the music being ridiculously high. You also have the instructor who is using a microphone and they’ll be very loud and shouting at times. It would be nicer if they were able to have a proper wall or fixture between the studio and the whole second floor gym. I was at the stretching/mats area and it was unbearable at times.

Positive experience: With the impending £2 rise in membership fees I trust that there will be more time spent in cleaning the male shower facilities. Hands down the dirtiest I’ve seen. This is not the first time I’ve had to comment on this.

Positive experience: 24hrs! All in a great gym, can be very busy at times but you can check the app to see how many are currently there. Machines are good! The sports water machine is not working more than it is working and apart from 1 visit when the toilets were stinking I've had many pleasant experiences here. I think it's the best gym in the area by far and I visited them all using day passes.

Fantastic experience: Good gym with plenty of equipment. Lots of parking. Can be a tad busy at peak times but that's expected. Good choice of classes and can book them easily via the app.
Fantastic experience: This gym isn't as big as expected, been to many puregyms that are larger. But has everything you need and I quite like the layout. On my visit it was clean and quiet.

Fantastic experience: Was helped from the start to fill form, offered to be shown around and try anything, friendliness overwhelming and totally great staff wanting to make visit as good as possible, went back later for a short trial, great! Easy parking and superb facility’s and cleanliness and variety of apparatus top notch. Back again this morning all excellent again . 5 star and 150%

Positive experience: Decent gym although it's not as big as it seems from the outside. Not loads of compound lift space but plenty of benches for free weights. A lot of treadmills, stair masters and rowing machines downstairs. There are a selection of machines spread across both floors. Best way of putting it is upper body machines mainly on bottom floor and legs, arms machines upstairs.

Positive experience: Was at a spin class tonight which was brilliant. Instructor was very attentitive and really motivational. Got everyone working out hard. The spin bikes are looking a bit tired and rusty and could be doing with a refresh.

Fantastic experience: Started with this gym yesterday after 2 years off due to lockdowns and personal health reasons etc. 1st time was in a spin class which was amazing. Looking forward to coming here more often, 24 hr availability is fantastic and great value for money.

Negative experience: Lucky if half the sanitiser sprays work, lucky if 1/4 of members clean kit before/after use but that could be said for 3/4 of PTs while working to, same said for wearing masks entering or busy arrears

Positive experience: Decent gym. On site parking is handy. Spin room isn't great and some instructors don't play the music very loud because of the spin area not being a fully enclosed room. When you leave the gym you are faced with a McDonald's as well Luckily this isn't my regular gym

Negative experience: At Robroyston Glasgow equipment is worn and staff aren't interested in fixing anything. Very poor upkeep.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for 3 months now and I've never felt so comfortable in a gym ever. If you have a fear of going to the gym due to a disability or your weight. This gym is the best. You don't feel uncomfortable at all and all the staff and people in the gym are so friendly. Would really recommend PureGym Robroyston!

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym but something is wrong with the plumbing upstairs the smell is horrible and could really be doing with getting fixed asap I went upstairs today and had to go straight back down as it was too much raw sewage doesnt blend well with working out it's been like this for a couple of weeks too .

Positive experience: Great 24hr gym. Good cleaning process atm. Some equipment could really use some maintenance... Nothing dangerous, not at all. Just visually a bit worn, some weight indicators missing on the isolation machines. Pads worn and some minor tears. Good cheap gym, popular.

On the size, though, as we do not own the buildings for our gyms it is not always possible to extend the site itself. Negative experience: Well the moto for pure gym 'Everyone is Welcome' seems doesn't not apply if you are Asian. Seems the manager Chris has some issues with Asian people . Asked my friend to wear mask while drinking watter!? But when a PT or other member of staff or any girls walking by with no mask on, seems that's not a issue. We been working out today on same machine and cause my friend is Asian been told to clean between sets, but when PT is showing to customers how to train and use the machine they don't have to clean! So ayther same rules applies to everyone or stop picking on people from different race. I never tolerate bullying and will not start now. Told him off and he did not liked it.

Positive experience: Been going years and none of the staff are interested in you unless you book a training session. I also go to warrior fitness in Auchinairn which is more expensive, but night and day compared to Pure Gym. Warrior staff actually speak to you and help people who are doing the reps incorrectly. I suppose you get what you pay for but their customer service is woeful.

Negative experience: Avoid the conman rainier as he is a joke to the rest of the ppl in the know. The guy doesn't know anything and exploits vulnerable ppl. The two managers seriously lack social skills and come across very rude. The wee bald one doesn't speak to anyone and the other one ian cannot look people in the eye. Instead he will look at the floor.

Fantastic experience: This does everything for me. 24 hours is a godsend for me as I work rotating dayshift/ backshift/ nightshift and have 3 young kids at home. Gym is well equipped and well priced. However this brings its own problems primarily that at certain times it is jam packed. Go after 11pm, or before 5am and you are sorted.

Positive experience: Good, clean, well maintained gym with easy parking. Added bonus: the changing rooms are a good size too with plenty of space for everyone to get changed during peak times.

Positive experience: Very clean and has a great choice of machines and weights, the weights area is absolutely stinking of sweat even on quite days, was a complete put off and only had treadmills down stairs which is disappointing. Lots of classes but not enough early on for shift workers.

Staff do undertake regular cleaning checks and we have dedicated cleaning teams come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. But we can of course check the cleaning rotas so if you let the Gym Manager know when you’ve visited they can properly investigate. We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. Timetables are always determined by staff availability and member demand, but this is liable to change so if you have any specific suggestions to times please follow the steps, as above. Fantastic experience: Very nice place to workout. Very tidy and all the machines are kept clean and good selection of healthy options in the vending machine. Overall a membership at pure gym is great value for money
