Positive experience: I'd love to rejoin the club, unfortunately all of the sudden they closed without any warning or explanation. It's a shame because it's local to me and very convenient.
Negative experience: The gym closed suddenly on 21/13/23 and members were advised that all memberships had been frozen including payment. This is unfortunately not the true and payments are still being taken from members without the services being available. The initial statement also advised to email the gym and they will respond, this has also not happened. I have sent three emails without any response. I have requested the my membership be cancelled as per the contract however, still no response. Other members are now being chased by Harlands who manage the direct debit collection despite the services not being provided.

Fantastic experience: Very good gym. Every one of the staff are approachable and friendly. Sam runs the place really well, evident in the fact there isn't a high turnover of staff like lots of gyms. If you need an inspirational word or two then talk to any of them. Oh and put your weights away properly, don't mix every single plate on the same stalk!
Negative experience: I have left this gym over 3 years ago. I still get offers and promotions from them. Both to my email address and mobile number Even after unsubscribing SEVERAL TIMES, and blocking every number they send messages from. They’ll just send promo messages from another number.
Positive experience: So far, so good. Very friendly PTs. Good but not an excellent class timetable. Clean. Free parking outside. Very good app with different workouts at home too.
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff and friendly gym
Negative experience: For gods sake, I joined this gym in 2017 for a few months, decided it wasn’t for me but 5 years later I’m still getting harassed by emails and texts asking me to join back up! Even after I’ve unsubscribed, MANY TIMES! Any business that holds onto your details to constantly pester you after you’ve left is not a good business. Stop harassing clientele that have left! Never going back due to this.

Positive experience: The gym itself great,however the thing for me is the lack of people cleaning down their machines after use. Most evenings i watch mainly women,sorry, just walk away from their machine not cleaning, just because they're texting and not sweating they think it's ok. I left there last Thursday, the next day i was in hospital with pneumonia/pleurisy,who knows where i caught it,but while things are where they are now,people have to start cleaning down their machines ,and use the towels provided, not your own one that you have been drying yourself with. Sorry for the rant,but it's something I've been watching for months now.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful service and made cancelling my contract the most difficult process! Simply wanted to cancel my membership as I was moving out of the area about 45 minutes away so would not be practical. They claim no contract, yet I cancelled my membership the beginning of November 2019 and my final payment was then taken. However I continued to get threatening emails from them that I still owed them money.continuously had to contact energie gym and even after them confirming they had sorted it, I still to this day get emails saying i owe them money. Unprofessional and unable to complete and simple task of cancelling a membership.
Fantastic experience: Really love this gym. This was the first time going to the gym for me so was a bit apprehensive but the staff made me feel very welcome. Really good atmosphere, just a great place to work out
Negative experience: Joined 2 months ago. Top equipment and good conditions to do nice workout,but I suggest avoid this gym if you don't want lose your money like me. Once I joined my data has been inserted twice into system and they charge me twice automatically. That's OK I understand mistakes happen. I tried to explain it 3 times with crew's member and finally Samantha, the manager she cancelled one of my D.D. and administration fee, around £40 total should come back to me till yesterday. it didn't happen. I belive someone clever from head office read my words and know that in Internet age one match can burn the whole forest. So people,you have large selection of gyms in our town if you want decent treatment as a customer deserve, I recommend avoid this place.

Negative experience: Really small and a lack of choice. Everytime there is a class you can't use the free mats and there seems to be regular classes. For less money I can go to a bigger, better equipped gym at cardinal Park. I also had mega issues cancelling here even though its supposed to not be a contract. The staff spend more time talking to each other than they do being available to help out and when you do ask them something it's like you're interrupting them. Wouldn't join again nor would I reccomend to anyone

Negative experience: Perfect facilities and while can be mega busy all the patrons work together to share the machines and wait in turn. I have had to resort to a negative edit on my previous 4 star review. Do to a massive change in how my partner and I wished to train we cancelled our membership giving the required months notice for our accounts. I asked for a confirmation email to confirm the cancellation and to my surprise. Nothing. Two days later I dropped in and met the girl who apparently deals with the cancellations and she assured me that now that she was back after her few days off that it would be dealth with. Everything else had been so perfect so why would I question her. A month passes still no email confirmation. None of the usual texts ans class reminders etc. But low and behold 1st of the month and 2 more debits from my account for both memberships. A week later 8.4.19 and still no return to any of my 4 phone calls. No email and no refund. Now left with complete and utter no confidence in the staff at Energie Fitness Club Ipswich. Zero stars for customer service. What a shame.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Simple, easy and cheap. Lots of good equipment with the odd occasionional wait. Classes are great and offer good value. Staff ate very good, especially the manager Sam. Weekday mornings are good, unless your a peacock go later.
Negative experience: Since the apparent refurb i feel this place has gone downhill. Its now way too cramped as the machines are too close to each other. Changing rooms are far too small for the amount of members with not enough lockers, especially at peak times! And lastly, why have the classes on the gym floor, why cant they have a seperate room for the classes instead?
Positive experience: Nice staff and a decent crowd go here. Equipment is modern and well maintained, only down sides are the classes are on the main floor with crazy loud music along with the gyms normal music, the result is tinitus and no chance of hearing your own music. Swapping the spin bikes out to the main floor and sound proofing that room for lessons would make more sense. At the very least just play one lot of music. The yard seems a waste of space though it might just be dead when I go and usually busy? All in all though a fair price for a reasonable gym.

Negative experience: I rejoined in May 2023 after cancelling during Covid. I wanted to get into strength training & so after nearly 3 weeks of waiting, finally got an appt with one if their personal trainers. He took me through a routine which included the hack squat machine & put 150kg of weights on, I struggled to lift this & told him I felt a strain in my lower back which concerned me, he said it was normal & to not worry about it. As I had never done strength training before, I stupidly believed him. I left the club happy, thinking that all was ok. However, the following morning I woke with severe back pain unable to get out of bed properly, bend over or walk without pain. I saw a chiropractor who advised that lifting extrem weights would have likely been the cause & to not do any lifting until the pain had completely gone & then not to lift accessive weights. I immediately cancelled my membership, wanting nothing more to do with the gym. I received an email shortly after asking me why I had cancelled & I told them (club manager Sam) about my experience. I only got a response when she had read a negative review I'd left even though she said that emails were checked daily. She offered her apologies & said I could get a programme done with her. I declined the offer as my back was still painful & I had lost trust in the club. I asked for a refund of one month as I was not going to be fit enough to use the gym. I then got a very different reply, saying it was likely not due to one exercise that caused my back pain, but could have been the way I slept!! And that the instructor had emailed me & I hadn't mentioned anything about it. He only emailed 4 days later with the exercises he'd set me, not even including the weights I should be using. By this time I had already lost any trust in the club & had cancelled my membership. I certainly didn't think that they would take any responsibility & was proved right. Sam said I wouldn't be getting a refund because they had provided alternative help in the way of a programme by her, even though I had already said i wasn't fit enough due to my ongoing back pain. I find it absolutely unprofessional that a so called qualified personal trainer would push someone completely new to strength training to these limits. I have since asked to be provided with a complaints procedure but unsurprisingly, I have heard nothing. DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER CARE.
