Negative experience: Used to be really good. Now it’s too busy to do a decent workout. Plus, between 4pm and 7pm largely full of kids play fighting and messing about in big gangs. Would be great if they extended next door to meet demand. Otherwise, if someone else opened a decent gym in Glossop I’d jump ship immediately.

Positive experience: I've been a member for one full month now. I joined because I liked that it was open 24 hours a day and the app conveniently tells me how many are in so I can plan my visits around that. The equipment is OK and the staff seem helpful. Sadly the air conditioning isn't on or doesn't work well and the showers are always dirty. I've been at all different times but every time the showers look like they haven't been cleaned all day. I've reported this every time but nothing changes. I would give 5 stars if they had air conditioning and more fit for purpose showers & changing facilities. They could learn a lot from GymECT in Stalybridge.
Hi Marcus. Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Positive experience: Ok for a small gym not much equipment due to lack of space. Some equipment is rusty but ok to use. The machines are ok but expected to be newer considering it's less than 5 years old. Equipment is not cleaned after use so some have sweat marks. Could be maintained better. The air con is not turned on so it can get really hot and sweaty in there. Nevertheless you get what you pay for.

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy gym. Treadmills covered in dust and sweat marks, Weights always laying about everywhere, carpets hanging off. Literal piles of dirt on the floor next to treadmills. Not seen a cleaner in here since last year. They’ve just increased the price too with absolutely no info to members as to how exactly this extra money will be spent on the gym. Never any new equipment. Save your money and go to Everlast in denton.

Fantastic experience: Glossop pure gym is clean and friendly. I mainly do the classes and they are always great. Had a class taken by Ben Leah this morning and it was excellent. Ben is clear with what he wants us to do, he is very encouraging and pays attention to the class…. keep it up Ben.

Fantastic experience: I think this gym is great . Equipment always available when I go ( it's going to be rammed at peak times , yes ), plan your visit . Like the fact you can always check on how many people are in there on the app. Place is always clean and tidy , staff are always available, helpful and friendly. I do personal training also , which has helped me so much physically and mentally,. I'm able to do more now than ever before. Great place

Positive experience: Good little gym. Could do with expanding a bit if they utilise the vacant unit next door. Could do with more exercise bikes as the treadmills are often empty being there are so many.

Positive experience: Been here just once during peak hours and I cannot believe how PureGym can justify the price given how relatively small this gym is. Will quickly reach capacity during peak hours which will leave you waiting for equipment. Outside of peak hours it's probably a great little gym, but definitely feel like PureGym are making the most of being the only established gym in Glossop. I've been to other PureGyms and they're considerably larger and worth it. If you drive, go elsewhere.

Positive experience: huge gym . also have Personal Trainer Marvin very Good . PT . open 24-7 . No pool . Contract Free Good choice of Classes 7 days also . Good ££ Membership to suit .

Fantastic experience: Glossop Pure Gym offers a great range of fitness classes run by qualified, enthusiastic, genuinely interested team if people. Would throughly recommend anyone joining , regardless if your current level of fitness, there is something for everyone.

Negative experience: No body arrived to show me around for an induction.

We try our best to inform members when a class/induction is cancelled, but if this wasn't the case for your induction then we apologise greatly. Positive experience: Small but functional pure gym. A lot of car park spaces at the front. Can be a bit busy on peak hours but really quite the rest of the time.

Fantastic experience: I was visiting the Glossop area from overseas and used two 7 day passes over the course of my stay, attending nearly every day. My experience was so overwhelmingly positive I felt compelled to leave some feedback. I have a lot of experience of similar gyms in Australia and Puregym Glossop exceeded my experiences at home. It’s a well attended and friendly space that is really well equipped. Staff and management are very positively present and involved, which is not a common experience in similar gyms. The gym is incredibly clean and tidy which is credit to staff and management who I observed personally undertaking cleaning tasks on equipment, even during busy times. Seeing the manager getting his hands in a bucket of hot water and cleaning cardio equipment says a lot about the level of care and pride in a place to me. There’s also a really healthy culture among customers who in my experience were all friendly, respectful and vigorous in cleaning after use. Yes it’s busy and you may have to wait for equipment, but most of us are happy to change up a work out or wait - it wasn’t an issue to me. Positive experience: Good gym, good value for money. Varied range of equipment and although it can get busy I've never had to wait for a piece of equipment. Doesn't get 5 stars because the loos and showers in my opinion could be improved as could the lockers which are too small and fiddly to use. I also find the access app is fiddly to use.

Positive experience: Great gym area but Needs a separate shower area. The combined crapper shower doesn't work for me.

Fantastic experience: I like this gym but could we have some coat hooks in the Shower/toilet to hang clothes whilst having a shower. My clothes have to lie on the floor which is the toilet floor ...thanks .

Fantastic experience: Great gym and staff
Positive experience: Good gym which has improved a lot in recent times. However, is still expensive compared to other puregym's and a few of the machines are looking worse for wear, cross trainer full of rust for example. And they very rarely use the Air conditioning, so it ends up a sweat box. Tip, turn the heating off! I'd rather it be a freeze box, much better to work out in Parking is a massive let down. 2 hours. Should be able to have longer if at the gym..
Fantastic experience: Never too busy, people seem decent and all the kit you need. Dumbells only go to 40kg - only downside so have to go to another pure for certain days. But it is only a small pure so can't complain!

Positive experience: As a small gym, it's quite well equipped. The gym area is fairly clean with plenty of antiseptic sprays and paper towels to wipe equipment down after use, however people have stopped doing this as Covid has wained. Showers are nice and clean whilst the cleaners are there but go downhill later on. Staff are excellent, free parking ( up to 2 hours) , although they've hiked up the membership price, it's still good value for money and a nice place to train.

Fantastic experience: Well, I love it here! I went a few time using my girlfriend's guest passes, but after piling on the pounds over the last few months I decided to join. To start with, the facility is immaculately clean. The staff, cleaners and members all work hard to follow the current hygiene protocols. The gym floor is well set out, so when you train you are well away from others and not on top of each other. The staff are really friendly and happy to help with any questions you may have, they are also really encouraging. Thank you PureGym Glossop!

Fantastic experience: I visited here while on holiday, although smaller than my usual gym it had everything I needed. Also in these current strange times saw lots of cleaning from staff and customers and loads of cleaning stations. All equipment was spaced out too. When I got there I obviously looked a bit lost looking for the lockers and a member of staff approached me. Instead of just pointing me in the direction she gave me a full tour and made me feel really welcome.

Positive experience: It's a decent enough gym but tiny! And only 4 showers (including the disabled!) is woefully inadequate! Such a shame because Glossop could be a really great market but I think they've missed a trick here.
