Llandudno Swimming Centre - Ffit Conwy

Fantastic experience: I'm a mad keen swimmer from Birmingham and whenever I holiday in Llandudno (frequently) I swim here every day. I so wish this swim centre was near me back home in Birmingham because I absolutely love to swim here, the facilities, the pool, the staff and the atmosphere are fantastic. It's an easy 5 stars from me.

Fantastic experience: First time going, staff very friendly induction to the gym was explained fantastic and being 61 the young lady was very patient with me, felt very relaxed.

Fantastic experience: My grandchildren enjoy there weekly swims its easy access allso adults are always welcome it can help if you book ahead on busy times

Negative experience: The life guard staff seem to speak to the adult swimmers like a child wen you suffer with anxiety it has now pushed me out off my comfort zone into cold swims in the SE I don't think I shall be going again unless thous staff apologise to me

Fantastic experience: I have just started swimming week day early morning staff have been helpful very getting the chair lift ready. I do however feel the lift chair is challenging to get on and off it's like a loo chair seat it does hurt my spine on transfer and lifting arms up. I moved from England and we had a remote control lift and a manual pod chair to swap oursefs into in a reasonable dry place. Lots even elderly can either stand on it to go up and down or the pod chair can be on it has it can get wet! I was able to hold the rails and transfer on it and get in out better and a remote does all the work or user can press the buttons themselves to get in and out because we like independence. Till that day comes and you get that funding thanks to all the staff that are very helpful and even get ready the night before so I'm not having to hang around thanks a bunch! Very clean and great place to be and not too busy at 7.30am.

Negative experience: Took my two children swimming here during the February half term holidays. Changing rooms were quite dirty and smelt of urine, with the smell occasionally wafting out into the pool area. Pool extremely busy not helped by a game of volleyball between a group of teenagers, so no room to teach my youngest how to swim compromised by the teenagers falling about everywhere trying to catch the ball. We only stayed for the half hour of the hour we paid for as any actual swimming was out of tje question. It would be better if they didn't rope off half the pool for lane swimming during the afternoons of school holidays, there would at least be a bit more room. I gave this 2 stars rather than one because reception did at least refund us via a credit note.

Positive experience: Really lovely swimming pool. Clean changing rooms and facilities. Friendly staff. Only thing lacking are signs in the exterior walls with arrows pointing to the entrance. If you are a visitor and walking there from the Promenade or Great Orme direction, you will walk round the entire building before finding the way in!

Fantastic experience: A great swimming pool. Good changing facilities with paid for lockers for security (20p). Clean, hot showers and mirrored hair drying area separate from the changing area. Friendly staff with two life guards on duty. I would highly recommend.

Negative experience: Turned away. Swimming lessons for the next hour. Waste of a trip.

Negative experience: I am visiting Llandudno with my Granddaughter and her friend, we always intended to visit the swimming centre, which we did on Monday 15th August 23, when we arrived at 11:55am, we were told that we could only have until 1pm, we accepted that and it was very reasonable at £3 each for my Granddaughter and her friend, her friend purchased swimming goggles at around £8, again, they seemed quite good goggles, so all good. I was spectating and when I saw the pools, they were full sized with lanes and starting blocks at one end, quite impressive, although we were only allowed to use half of the pool, as there was training and people swimming in cordoned off lanes, still, all was good, after being in the water for about 20 minutes, a female lifeguard asked my Granddaughter if they could swim, they told the lifeguard, yes, after a few more minutes, the lifeguard asked my Granddaughter if she was chewing, she told her that she wasn't, but the lifeguard wasn't having it and continued to accuse her of chewing in the pool, then another female lifeguard took over and and again asked her if she was chewing, my Granddaughter opened her mouth to show her two times, but the lifeguard told her that she has been watching her and insisted she was chewing and told her that she would have to leave the pool if she sees her chewing again, my Granddaughter got upset and preceded to leave the pool, I told her to go back in the pool, I shouted to the lifeguard "excuse me" she looked at me and then just turned away from me, my Granddaughter was reluctant, but eventually got back in with her friend, the lifegaurd was on her radio and soon a male lifegaurd arrived, they were talking whilst covering their mouths, like you see at a football match, it was like something bad had happened, then the male lifegaurd took over and it all felt really uncomfortable for all of us, this was tantamount to bullying by the female lifeguards, totally unacceptable behaviour from someone in that position, my Granddaughter was not chewing, I would not send her swimming with chewing gum in her mouth, she is 13 years of age and she knows that she is not allowed to eat or chew when swimming, she was just trying to have fun with her friend, but this female lifeguard would not leave them alone, she ruined our experience of visiting this venue, we will not be returning there any time soon, we have had such a great time in Llandudno until today, how are people in such positions allowed to do this? ☹️

Positive experience: Water is a bit cold and staff are a bit strict at enforcing the rules, but pool is good and kept very clean. Take 20p pieces for the lockers and hairdryer!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I called in today to register him as a member ...Stef was really welcoming and helpful, showing us round the pool area and gym facilities. Everything looked very well kept and lovely and light. Stef took my husband through all his options for swim/gym slots...and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. Very impressed

Positive experience: The floor is often very wet, I won't use the gym here for this reason as no dry changing rooms available. The pool is large, they change life guards frequently, who seam alert. Staff are friendly. The lane system generally works well, but staff will not tell someone taking 3 mins a length in the second fastest lane to switch. So it depends on the people on the day choosing appropriate lanes. The Conwy fit app works well when your used to it.

Fantastic experience: Really good swimming pool, instructors are good, was very difficult initially getting our child into the swimming lessons. Even though they were on a list we had to still call up.if your child is on the waiting list for lessons it’s still worth calling up to check if there is any room

Negative experience: Sadly it was shut as there was a competition on today which I only found when I'd paid for parking!! Can you put things like this on your website in future as I did check!!

Fantastic experience: My self and my grandson arrived around 10am staff very friendly the facilities very clean. Wasn't to busy but by 11am was soon starting to get more visitors had a great time would definitely recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: Went with mom during our visit to wales. All staff we encountered were lovely and accommodating for my mom who is a wheelchair user.

Fantastic experience: Nice clean, modern pool with communal and separate changing facilities. You don't have to book in advance to swim. Lockers are 20p, but you don't get the coin back. Pool is a bit cool, but feels nice on a hot day.

Fantastic experience: staff that we interacted with were brilliant, pool warm , showers hot, facility spotless. Price is for an hour but if not busy you can stay longer. Cheaper in summer holls. We’ll worth visiting again. The only let down is parking that is a separate company and for 4 hours is £3.50 2hours at £1.70

Fantastic experience: Well, in this small town I wasn't expected to be smth special, but honestly is very good. Swimming pool is 25m long a lot if lines and there are times you can visit when is quite. Early morning times is busiest. Staff as far is great. Gym is very small, but not to busy. Good part you can visit other gyms with the same company.

Fantastic experience: I have always found Llandudno Swimming pool to be kept at a high standard also the changing rooms and toilets are always very clean. The pool is a 25 metre 8 lane pool, there is also a 20 meter 4 lane training pool. The staff are very helpful and friendly, booking is still advisable up to a week in advance, lockers are available for 20p. Unfortunately there is no facilities for a cafe but drink and snack machines are in the reception area. There are various swimming sessions available, time table and opening hours are available on the Conwy ffit gov uk site

A morning of kindness today after I accidentally dropped my clean clothes into a puddle of water in the changing rooms - the staff offered to lend me shorts to go home in and two very generous ladies fed the hairdryer with 20p pieces and helped me dry everything. Amazing. A big thank you to them all.

Positive experience: Ok swimming pool clean and good showers. Gripes not enough changing facilities, having to pay for parking and your locker on top of your swim. The parking ticket doesn't go towards your swim, unlike our local baths. And the 20p for your locker you don't get back.
