Negative experience: Was made to wait 25 mins until I could start swimming never had this at other freedom leisure centres they treat everybody like children there were no mixed changing rooms and the pool was too small and only 1.8 meters deep where as other local pools are 2m also it was more expensive than other local pools I will not be attending again

Fantastic experience: A great facility to have on the doorstep. Reception staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. It's clean and the gym has great equipment. The PT is so knowledgeable and super patient.

Fantastic experience: Excellent swimming pool with fun for children of all ages, there is a flume, jacuzzi and rapids. The pool is graduated so has a really shallow end which is great for babies and toddlers. Only downside is that the changing rooms are fairly limited - they only have one family changing room which doesn't have a baby changing table so can make it difficult in getting babies changed/unchanged. Even the male and female changing rooms only have a few cubicles, so when it is busy they are full meaning you have to wait or get dressed in the main changing room.

Fantastic experience: I've had a swim membership for a little while now, Staff all seem very friendly, pool is an alright size, morning sessions tend to be quite busy, my daughter loves going to the family sessions so she can go on the flume repeatedly.

Fantastic experience: Great times with the kids. Only down fall that we had to wait because the pool was to full of people, but it was an only 10 minute wait.

Fantastic experience: Wow what a difference in the Flash! Lots of new classes! Great memberships! Or pay as you go options! I have done 3 classes this week yoga, stretch and aqua snd thoroughly enjoyed each class! Thank you great community hub! Costa coffee also a great bonus was lovely to have a latte and a chat after classes! Swimming available to me every afternoon is is a real benefit too! So pleased we have a leisure centre n Welshpool Thank you management team and freedom leisure for providing this!

Negative experience: I went to join the gym. I was persuaded to pay for 3 months subscription and was told they don't do a pay as you go. The lady took my payment filled in the forms and didn't let me have my membership card saying I had to wait until I received a phone call from one of them . It was on Tuesday I paid £90 for 3 months , I phoned on Friday as id heard nothing only to be told I should have been given my membership card and I could have started in the gym straight away , I've now lost 1 weeks membership because of this and I'm not had about it. I may go and ask for a refund

Positive experience: First visit circuit training for, I had been referred on "The National Exercise Referral Scheme" a hood starter to get my fitness back this will be a regular going forward twice a week

Positive experience: Use the gym, very hot, is there no air-conditioning? Is it possible the trainers with clients using the mats don't sit on the spare mat, stopping anyone else using it? Small gym, usually busy, but has everything I need.

Positive experience: Nice but starting to show its age.

Negative experience: I like to support local amenities when I'm back in the area but drop in sessions to use the gym keep increasing while the quality of the gym does not.

Positive experience: Quite often pool is fully booked, although when you look in doesn't look busy (presume there's a limit to people?) Been at other pools and never had issue with being fully booked. Pre booking is only for gym members and seems to be Welsh users only. Quite often find going to Wrexham baths better

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this leisure centre, firstly, you are only allowed hourly sessions in the pool, so by the time you get in, it's time to get out. The system of getting people in and out of the pool was very unorganised, it felt a bit like school as you have to wait for the pool to be evacuated before you are allowed in. Nowhere was this sign posted to inform newbies of this bizarre practice. And by the time everyone was out, you had lost 5mins of swim time. Secondly, me and my fiancé were shocked to find the ridiculous changing facilities. The women's had 1 cubicle (the other out of order) and the mens had zero cubicles, so adults and children are forced to change behind towels as best they can which to me shouldn't be allowed! In the end, me and my fiance met by the lockers and got changed in a "family changing room" which was just a disabled toilet with a bench. While in the pool, I found the lifeguards to be very unreasonable and rude, very unfair to many of the kids in there regardless of the fact that their parents were in there watching them. We went for 'watermania' and the slide and jacuzzi were only open for about half an hour. At the end of the swim, me and my fiancé decided to avoid awkwardness and embarrassment, and decided to leave the session 5mins early to ensure we could get changed in the family changing room. Overall, it was a terrible experience, never have I been to a lesiure centre like this before. Found the whole experience very backwards, so we will not be returning. We actually went with the intension of getting swimming memberships, only to find that watermania isn't included in UNLMITED swimming?...

Positive experience: Only 4 stars as can only swim for 1hour. Although the facilities are clean well looked after.

Positive experience: Nice place to take the kids, place was clean and tidy the staff are friendly and helpful only reason i didnt give 5* is the 1 hour time slots put me off. We were just getting into teaching our 2 year old to swim after taking some time to get used to the place and all of a sudden it was everyone out... bit disappointing really.

Fantastic experience: Had short swim lunch time today. Really enjoyable largely due to friendliness and efficiency of reception and lifeguard staff.... and everywhere was clean!!

Positive experience: On holiday we decided to go for a swim. The website says book in advance, and when I called up they said you don’t have to anymore, you can just turn up. The changing rooms are small, but clean, and the pool is nice. Pleasantly surprised there was a slide/ flume!

Positive experience: My kids love this place, but I just feel that it needs some investment to bring it up to date. The changing facilities could be improved and sections of the pool have been cordoned off for a long as I can remember.

Negative experience: Very very poor and dirty facilities which need updating. They then changed the schedule for the day at 6am when the session for babies was 10am meaning after an hours drive and working around nap times 8 mums all had to drive back. Management didn't give two hoots

Fantastic experience: Easy to find, parking is great, changing room&shower area constantly cleaned by staff, pool is great size and clean. I came here introduced by a family friend and would highly recommend for fun play date or family day out. Most of all Flash has bunch of amazing friendly staff.

Negative experience: We visited Tuesday for the public swim with our 6 month old granddaughter. We used the family changing room and it was absolutely filthy and had obviously not been cleaned for days. We used to come every week prior to covid. I paid £21 for 4 adults and a baby, but I expected it would be spotless as covid is still an issue. I won't be using it again.

The childrens swimming programme is brilliant and the teachers are fab, filling the children with such confidence. This place has changed so much since the old flash days, but they are bringing more to it as much as possible.

Fantastic experience: Staff very friendly on the reception desk and so helpful when she saw me struggling to walk. Lifeguards all good too. Our kids enjoyed the slide and playing ball in the pool. Noticed you teach Rookie Lifeguard which is great (I teach it too). Wish lived closer because Iwould love to try out kayaking again!

Fantastic experience: Clean and well staffed, seating area in the cafe is great with a mixture of table and chairs to comfy armchairs with a table. Costa coffee is served in the cafe which is great, you can see the pool from the cafe, which is also nice. Great swimming pool and slide. Changing rooms and toilets are clean.

Fantastic experience: We went for a public swim and some dinner after. The staff and lifeguards are brilliant. Really friendly and helpful. Its such a good pool for little ones as it has a beach area so my 3 year old can play and not go out of his depth quickly. My boy adored the flume and we lost count the number of times we went down it. The food was lovely, a little above average in cost but its expected for the convenience. The lockers use a 20p which you do NOT get back. Parking is free though, which is a bonus.
