Paddington Sports Club

Negative experience: Be careful with the scam! I thought, I was going to pay for a membership for £40 to get the right to rent a tennis court. In fact, it is a fee to have the right to be on the waiting list!! And the waiting list is of 3 years!! This is deliberately not explained clearly until you pay. Once I pay and it was then clearly explain. I asked for a genuine refund on the same day since I was not interested in being on the waiting list. They did not refund and they stop replying to me. They are obviously trying to make money out of people enrolling in a 3 years waiting list. Shameful!

Fantastic experience: My first squash Club in London, although the squash court floors could do with some upgrades the club and the members are more than welcoming and friendly, and the level of players is very high. I thoroughly love my time in the club so far, very easy to make friends. Really makes you feel at home and wanting to be there everyday just to meet more people.

Negative experience: Don't bother

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, great gym and great classes! :) If you prefer a more friendly environment and less busier classes, this is your place to go! :D Great price too. Great for tennis and table tennis players!

Positive experience: It has decent tennis courts

Negative experience: The air conditioning in the gym has been out of order since December 2018 (it is now February 2019). The staff seem to be unaware of this. There are no signs of apology - however hollow the sentiment - or notifications regarding the repair or replacement of the air conditioning unit. If that wasn't enough, the 2 propeller fans in the ceiling are covered in dirt. It's all quite abysmal...

Fantastic experience: Great place! Hidden gem in Maida Vale! The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone is super friendly!! They have a very nice Bar with an amazing and professional bar staff members! If you want to get fit, if you like to play tennis and squash or if you just want to try some activities I really suggest you to pop in and became a member!

Fantastic experience: Great place with lots of friendly people! Plenty of courts in extremely good conditions, very well organised events such as club afternoons and annual tennis championships. Great atmosphere inside the clubhouse, very kind staff.

Fantastic experience: A hidden gem

Negative experience: Paddington Sports Club is a very poorly managed club. As a gym member, I chose to use the facility due to its proximity to my home. Whilst the location is great, everything else is seriously not! I complained many times to the inexperienced and ineffective club manager about the dirty gym before any action was reluctantly taken to rectify this matter! There has been little improvement since. Also, a feedback book has appeared in the gym and virtually every comment in the book mentions how dirty the gym is!The gym equipment is both old and poorly maintained too (some of the equipment is in need of urgent repair)! Communication at the club is appalling. Staff are predominantly disengaged and appear demotivated due to poor leadership from the club manger. The class co-ordinator/teacher is inexperienced and unapproachable too. All in all a poor experience. Wifi is appalling too. There are better local options. Thankfully I am no longer a member! Get your act together PSC - sadly expect little or no change from a very reactive and poorly managed team!

Fantastic experience: A hidden gem of a club, great Clubhouse, bar and general atmosphere. It's not a commercial club but a member club so don't expect the former.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities including 10 tennis courts, nice atmosphere, fair prices

Positive experience: A nice enough club in terms of members and quality of facilities, but very limited number of courts. Food and drink at the bar are excellent, and it's a popular place for members to watch football in a (semi-) civilised manner.

Fantastic experience: Top facility for this club with many tennis courts, 2 squash courts, a fitness club and a restaurant. They should consider covering some of the tennis courts as it is often raining in London and then it is hard to play.
