Glenogle Swim Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Amazing class, Gary was very professional and well understanding our needs and performance.
Fantastic experience: No more than 3 others in the pool for the hour I was there (13:30 - 14;30). Great!
Negative experience: the pool is always full not a centimetre left for me
Fantastic experience: Wonderful pool and gym with fantastic staff. There are a range of fitness classes, a nice gym with personal training included (Craig is awesome!), and of course, the main attraction, the beautiful pool. I am delighted to have such an option in Edinburgh.
Fantastic experience: A safe and friendly environment with friendly and helpful staff for the service users.
Negative experience: Weekends closes at 15:00. The only days you can actually enjoy it. This guys are glueless and don’t understand that most people want to workout on their days off Saturday and Sunday.
Fantastic experience: Always been a fantastic place
Fantastic experience: Great little pool, friendly atmosphere
Positive experience: Victorian Restored Baths/Swimming Pool with excellent sauna and steam room. Inexpensive and not overly busy. I gather there are gym facilities but can’t comment on that aspect.
Negative experience: Staff are absolutely useless. No easily available info online saying that they shut Wednesdays between 2 and 4, staff were deeply unhelpful when we arrived. They also failed to mention that the steam room was broken which was the main reason why we came. Complete time wasters and come across like they have no clue what they are doing.
Fantastic experience: Great place for a swim and sauna
Fantastic experience: Мне нравится это место
Negative experience: Lovely staff and a nice venue but the pool is absolutely freezing, so are the showers
Fantastic experience: Nice pool with friendly staff and good facilities. Old school bath vibes but 5 lanes for lane swimming on the schedule so nice to have different speed options
Fantastic experience: Fantastic Victorian era pool with sauna and steam room. Huge glass ceiling really makes this a fantastic looking venue with nice pool and changing facilities.
Positive experience: Nice showers. Nice place. Good price.
Negative experience: This beautiful old pool is being assimilated by the Borg of Edinburgh Leisure: - Forced credit/debit card usage, no cash - No direct phone line, centralised voice menu hell. - Pushing everyone to book in advance. - Expensive. Progress should mean improvement…
Negative experience: The pool was frozen infact the little pool in the Turkish baths was warmer than the big pool I did stay long in the big pool
Fantastic experience: Visiting from New Zealand. This is a favourite pool to use, walkingdistance frm our acommodation in a lovely area of Edinburgh. Friendly staff and nice facilities.
Positive experience: Lovely pool, clean and fresh, temperature perfect. Just a little pricey at over £6, took me by surprise as I haven't been for years.
Fantastic experience: My first time there other than to join. Lovely old Victorian pool with changing cubicles down each side. Need to come back regularly...once I've recovered!
Fantastic experience: Sauna was hot
Fantastic experience: Love going here for a swim and some classes, clean, tidy and the staff are great!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant period swimming baths. Friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities for all ages and wonderful swimming club my granddaughter loves it .very supporting volunteers at club who do a great job with all ages of children and very enthusiastic.
Fantastic experience: Exceptional
Positive experience: Fantastic place for a swim
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff & very clean swimming pool. I recommend checking a timetable before going as they offer both casual and line swimming. There are lockers for everyone (£1 needed), private showers, and very good hairdryers. Edinburgh Leisure | Swimming Pool
Fantastic experience: 1st time very good venue friendly staff would go back
Fantastic experience: Bring a pound coin to use the lockers.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful pool. Fabulous staff. Lovely early morning swim. Thank You
Negative experience: Closes at 2pm on weekends ( the very day you could actually enjoy it ) even though is says 4pm at the entrance.
Fantastic experience: Nous y sommes allés juste pour prendre une douche. 2 pounds par personne avec accès douches + toilettes. C’est propre, ça fait l’affaire !
Positive experience: Great swimming pool. Clean and tidy. Very pleasant staff.
Fantastic experience: Every week day the pool opens at 7am and has laned swimming for different abilities, so is a brilliant way to start your work day. Sessions need to be booked in advance, but it never feels crowded. It has a steam room and sauna at the end of the pool, so it's a lovely way to relax after your swim.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, immaculately clean facilities
Fantastic experience: Best pool in Edinburgh Best staff in Edinburgh too
Negative experience: Nice victorian pool. If however you want your children to learn how to swim, look somewhere else. I've had my two kids attending weekly classes here and they literally haven't learned anything.
Fantastic experience: It a great place to go to Thursday morning if want get get house and meet other people if want get back in swimming again if you have lost your confidence the are people their to help you
Fantastic experience: Booking, entry, exit, all simple. Friendly, polite atmosphere.
Fantastic experience: A really great gym and swimming pool. Whilst gym facilities aren't particularly fancy, there's plenty in there to enable to full body workout. The facilities are spotless, the staff really friendly and classes have excellent content too. It's not ridicuinusy all the time, so plenty of space to workout without queuing for kit. The pool is fantastic, you do have to book at the moment, but I've never struggled to get in. There is space for spectators too!
Positive experience: My kids love it here. Nice for a wee dip. Just a pain having to carry shoes around as you're not allowed to leave them at the pool entrance.
Fantastic experience: Clean pool and facilities with friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: My local pool. It's a joy. Beautiful Victoria era baths with a glass roof. 25 yard pool with lane swimming each lunchtime. They also have gym etc where they run various fitness classes.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and friendly, helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: great pool and great location in a beautiful building. the poolside is very clean and the pool itself is usually well taken care. they don't use chlorine, so the water isn't perfectly clear, but clean nonetheless. Staff are really friendly and great.
Fantastic experience: When I arrive, I feel welcome, the lanes set for lane Swimming all good.
Fantastic experience: Superb refurbishment of Victorian "baths". Excellent Covid19 secure protocols. Clean with helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Best swimming baths in Edinburgh. Lovely victorian baths. Great pool.
Positive experience: Despite (or because of) the covid rules this was a great experience. Only 6 swimmers in our session meant that there was plenty room for all. Water quality and temperature was excellent. Staff kept it spotlessly clean.
Positive experience: Water lovely and warm and changing facilities right on pool side- very convenient
Positive experience: Great pool with great people. Unfortunately, getting in touch with anyone is impossible. An hour on hold on the phone with a repeated message over and over is not very helpful. Otherwise its a 5 start place to go!
Fantastic experience: Although tiny when compared to RCP but it is a lovely pool that is perfect for families.
Fantastic experience: My daughter really enjoys swimming at Glenogle Swim Centre. She says that they have a very clean pool and very welcoming staff!
Fantastic experience: Open, despite covid. Good to get some exercise! Update - from Xmas , 27th Dec, wont be open due to COVID restrictions. Golf courses will be open if that floats your boat!
Fantastic experience: I didn't hate this have it 5 stars great for all the family to meet up
Fantastic experience: Lovely Victorian era swimming pool
Fantastic experience: A lovely Victorian Swimming pool . Friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Popular local pool from the Victorian era with small gym, fitness classes, sauna and steam room.
Fantastic experience: Beautifully restored Victorian 25 yard pool.
Fantastic experience: Clean, well kept, beautifully lit and the friendliest staff in the land. Long may this place continue to keep old and new fit in Stockbridge. I miss it so during covid19.
Positive experience: Great swimming pool, sauna and steamroom and the staff are very friendly
Negative experience: Pretty pricey compared to other city's leisure access. Also not clear what different sessions ie turned up today for public swimming and it was over-run with kids, with the only lanes being for children's lessons. This should really be advertised as a family session. If you can go when quiet, adult, only lanes, imagine it would be ok.
Fantastic experience: mejor bano victoriana
Positive experience: Lovely place to teach your children where to swim. Water is warm and showers decently warm. Got some other lovely feature such a s Gym, Sauna etc. Although we just use the pool. Lovely and deep on one side. Although this seems simpler facility, it does really well to give the small but cozy feel with good service. Also... One not so good thing is you won't be able to get a coffee while you wait... But there is a Nero and Starbucks 5min walk away.
Fantastic experience: Good Victorian swimming baths.
Positive experience: a bit dated but super friendly, plenty of staff around in case you need help or to ask questions about equipment etc. There is a steam and sauna room. There are plenty of change rooms and lockers free to use but require a pound to lock (that you get back when you're done). The weights room is small with no windows to outside but almost always I had it to myself so no problem. All the free weights look new. the cardio area (seperate to weights room and up the stairs) has 3 treadmills, 1 stair machine, rower, 2 ellipticals and a bike. plenty of mats, skip ropes etc. No TVs anywhere thank goodness! Also a few cable machines, assisted pull up etc. I'm only in town for a week and they have a 7 day 20 Pound deal to access everything, Gym + pool + sauna + steam room. Otherwise, 7 pound for single entry for gym only.
Fantastic experience: Favourite pool in Edinburgh. Try to go to the adults only session every Sunday, but been a bit lax recently
Fantastic experience: Great pool
Positive experience: Excellent pool. Getting a little pricey however...
Positive experience: Great pool willing to go again
Positive experience: Ok and no parking space at all
Positive experience: One for the grownups. Not much room for kids.
Fantastic experience: It's cool when there aren't 15 people in the fast lane. Who are also not fast
Fantastic experience: A lovely old fashioned pool. Very well run
Negative experience: Good facilities and a nice place with good staff but it is so often closed for private events it is really frustrating. It closes at early on weekends in any case but is sometimes just randomly closed for kids events on saturday and sunday. I am thinking about taking a private membership elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Exellent facility with very friendly and helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Good swimming baths quiet location never crowded ( well it never has been when I visit ) showers are good and the steam sauna is a great attraction, I like a walk around Stockbridge after the swim session.
Fantastic experience: Bright and clean pool. Friendly staff
Positive experience: The gym is really small.
Fantastic experience: best
Fantastic experience: Warm clean pool
Fantastic experience: Ok
Negative experience: Confusing and over complicated changing system. Good facilities
Positive experience: Great traditional Pool and Sauna.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful old pool with friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: Victorian public swimming pool with sauna and steam room. Excellent.
Fantastic experience: Very nice, quiet, well supplied and organised swimm centre. The Edinburgh Leasure Venue. Stuff extremely professional and friendly!
Positive experience: Good
Positive experience: Amazing historic building, but BOY does it need ventilation in the changing rooms!!
Fantastic experience: This is Glen Ogle swimming pool it contains a Victorian style pool two mates room and fitness room for classes it also has I left from the glenogle road entrance to allow access for wheelchairs you can also access the building from saxe-coburg Street but there is no wheelchair access from the side of the building.
Negative experience: Some receptionists there are making too many mistakes because they are poorly trained and disorganized
Positive experience: Swim here twice a week. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool and pool side clean
Positive experience: It okay place for LGBT swimming but hard to get to
Positive experience: Small gym, good pool and sauna/steam room. Seems relatively clean. Opening hours could be longer but for the size of place it's a good bath centre.
Positive experience: Classic Victorian baths
Fantastic experience: Beautiful Victorian pool
Positive experience: Lovely Victorian pool with steam room, sauna, weights, gym and range of lessons and coaching sessions. Lift makes it fully accessible from Glenogle Road where there is on street cycle parking whilst entrance from Saxe Coburg Place is via steps.
Positive experience: A very nice Victoria era swimming pool. Had been refurbished a few years ago and has some nice features from that era. The public swimming pool offers paid for swimming lessons for children and also has a fitness centre.
Positive experience: Really lovely little sports centre with good steam room, wish I had had more time there but Christmas opening hours ment they closed early. Friendly staff... Wondered if the place had a sense of humour about it's self as writen on the wall as you exit said "See you next week"... Is it implying that once a week is the best they can hope from the Scots?
