Negative experience: Not as good after the refit. Air quality is worse. Staff didn't see. To care
Hi Adam, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Positive experience: Gym was to hot for my liking and everything on the vending machines was overpriced, however I'm giving it a 4 due to the quality of the equipment other than the cable machines which had inaccurate weight readings

Fantastic experience: Nicest PureGym I’ve visited. I bought the multi-gym access while visiting family in the midlands and this is by far the nicest gym. Brand new equipment, great layout.

Positive experience: Is the air conditioning broken? Just signed up and had a workout, my god before I had finished half a set I was dripping in sweat, really warm in the gym. Almost had to quit my session half way to go take a shower and return to the workout. Just moved here from JD gym up the road, never had an issue trained there for months. Even after I took my shower and walked to the exit I felt like I needed to shower again. The relief I felt when the cool air hit me from outside. If it is this warm again next time I'm going to straight up quit and ask for a refund. 1 leg extension machine for the whole gym.

Fantastic experience: Started going a couple of days ago and got a get start3d session from Charlie I think it was? Was great and made me feel really at ease being in a gym for the first time ever! Love the equipment there and have been excited to try out different machines. Also the cycle class is hard work but fun! Would recommend :)

Negative experience: Never been a fan of this gym; every time I've been here it's always messy with weights and barbells scattered on the floor and dumbbells in the wrong location. Seems to be a whole lot of treadmills and very little machinery. Only pro to this gym is that it's 24/7, however with JD Gyms being a 5 minute walk away it's really not worth going here.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym
Fantastic experience: Love bootcamp on Sundays with Dan and Charlie! The lads are really enthusiastic and encouraging; always upbeat and make classes fun! The class works all parts of the body with everything possible thrown in, and everyone leaves sweating, having had a full body workout, consisting of both cardio and strength exercises that cater to all abilities! Anyone struggling can be sure to get support and encouragement, with misconceptions corrected, ensuring techniques are accurate. Classes are well thought out and organised. Well done both of you! Fantastic experience: Boot Camp on Sunday is amazing. A great work out. Makes you sweat. Charlie and Dan are fab. They come and correct your technique if it is incorrect. Love it!!

Fantastic experience: Great classes and fabulous and helpful staff. One improvement would be to make the Boxfit more available to attend either by changing the original time on a Thursday or by adding more boxfit sessions.

Positive experience: The gym is always busy full of friendly people the staff are good helpful if you need something they will come and help you or let you know what they can do to help only downside is parking can be very full especially on a Monday other then that I'd recommend.

Negative experience: Why only the two stars Well it's Pure Gym and if you go to Pure Gym you'll know why I went with two stars And one of the reason it gets 2 stars is because The showers are loot warm but at least they are loot warm and not cold then hot then cold then hot like Dudley Port Which is no way to treat paying customers Why should Pure Gym care when they've got your money

Positive experience: Generally clean, flaws: they've decided to remove completely the cleaning stations, they no longer offer WiFi, they also no longer offer water from their machines if not to those with upgraded memberships (before you could access it with the standard one). Overall spacious and accessible the staff is friendly, but gotta work on those flaws for some it could be a deal breaker

We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove some self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Negative experience: Honestly, this gym left an immediate bad impression. There are a lot of machines, but they seem to have taken away the facilities to wipe them down when you are done, which seems pretty disgusting. The showers were pretty poor hygiene wise, and I haven't seen a member of staff once since going, which doesn't bode well for health and safety. The car park uses a 3rd party enforcement, but the rules posted inside and outside are completely different, so I ended up entering my license plate into the tablet by the door every day just in case, although around 40% of the time it didn't seem to work. I decided that the chance of a parking fine, combined with the shower situation and lack of staff, was enough to make me cancel my membership, but PureGyms website literally makes this impossible, sending you round and round in circles. Guess I'll be going to my bank.

Positive experience: It's a gym. Decent amount of equipment but someone who can't handle their creatine keeps punching holes in the walls. Their maintenance guys are dead slow and reactive works. The PT's are all lovely and the equipment is ideal for all levels, wether you're starting out or an experienced athlete.

Fantastic experience: Very large gym, especially in comparison to other pure gyms in the west midlands, Always see cleaners doing a great. It is always brilliant to see a manager taking pride in his job and sorting out all the plates and weights ext at 11 at night. Definitely gone the extra mile

Fantastic experience: This gym is one of the best pure gyms around. Whenever you go , you don't have to wait to use the workout equipment because they have a few of each. It is very clean, and the men toilets are always clean (even though they could do with a few more urinals and toilets). The staff are very helpful and the members are there for one thing and one thing only ! To get fit, so no distractions.

Positive experience: Canceled membership. Been here for over 1.5 years and sick of the lack of improvement. Always machines broken that don't get fixed for months. The lockers get broken into regularly and they still never changed them even after thefts going on for years. Drinks machine broke 50% of the time. It does have a decent choice of machines and a big carpark but imo its cheap for a reason.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Negative experience: I am a member of pure gym and use Brierly hill pure gym how ever I had parked my car on the car park beginning of last year Jan 2022 to use the gym. Its now 2023 I have just come back from a military deployment only to receive a letter in the post for a car parking charge of £170 pounds I would not mind but I am a member of pure gym and I am utterly shocked to have received this letter saying they want to take me to court and that my credit score will be effected. Please sort out your car parking problems as this may cause me to leave pure gym and go els where.

Positive experience: Nice gym, more open and spacious than some of the other puregyms I have used. Parking is ok in off peak hours but a bit hectic if you go after work. The spin class here was awful though, I almost walked out ten minutes in.

Positive experience: Nice place to workout. It is cheap and has everything you can possible think of. Classes are good, however they took Zumba out of their timetable, even though it was one of the most popular classes.

Fantastic experience: Friendly PTs and no-one laughs or makes fun of people who aren't comfortable with the routines (on the bikes) or who does it wrong. And you meet new people too. The classes are a joy to be in as they are a fun atmosphere.

Negative experience: Pure Gym staff are absolutely brilliant and the facilities are clean cut however "Highview Parking" who operate the parking measures on Pure Gym car park are out and out thieves. I have been receiving threatening letters from them demanding £170 for allegedly overstaying a free 2.5 hour slot on the carpark even though you are allowed 4 hours if you are a Pure Gym member and have entered your details in to their FAULTY tablet they have as you walk in to the gym. I am now going to have to cancel my membership because I cannot afford to take the risk of Highview's tablet not working correctly and issuing me another ludicrous fine.

Fantastic experience: Definitely enjoying this gym they have recently upgraded parts of the gym... it's always clean and staff members are willing to help or answer any questions you have... for an extra £10 a month you can get drinks while you're therevia the sports machine... they have most if not all gym equipment you can think of... opening times are awesome but please take into consideration your monthly gym pass hours... overall 10 out of 10 superb gym

Positive experience: There's hardly ever the cleaning roll the company raves on about. So keeping the equipment clean is hard. The new equipment is ok. But no new cardio equipment still the old tired stuff.

Fantastic experience: I'll admit it, I was a bit put off initially by a 24hr gym that isn't staffed for 24hrs but it's actually really good! For the price of their off peak membership, which means you can't use the gym for 5 hours a day (15:30 to 20:40) Mon to Fri and you can only use your named gym, its almost rude not to! The biggest plus is that I am not allowed to use the gym when it's really busy, so I can only go when it's quieter and the equipment is more likely to be free. Plenty of space, variety of equipment, classes running outside these peak hours, clean, friendly staff and all managed from a App - don't let that put you off. It's great!

Positive experience: A large standard 24!7 gym with no frills. Large free car park, shared with another business. Register car reg in system if parking more than 2 hours. Access via pin number or App. Not always staffed. Monitored 24/7 by CCTV.. Clean with a variety of exercise machines and large weights area. A few machines requiring maintenance, Eg noisy, rocking and not rectified after several weeks despite being informed. An impersonal gym. Showers and changing room clean and bright with padlock (not supplied) type lockers, some needing repair. Varies fitness classes run, Spin and Circuit training for instance. Vending machines for drinks and various other items. Busy and wait for machines at peak periods. Off Peak value for money but would not be happy paying full price.
Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this rating, but I'm sorry to see it's 3 stars. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by any faulty equipment and lockers needing repair. We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any further concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: Great gym not too busy most times of day. Ended up moving to JD Gyms machinery not repaired in a timely manner, facilities were in a run down state I have heard they have renovated recently PTs have no interest unless they are working with you, if they are on site after hours they want nothing to do with the running of the gym no matter what the issue.

Negative experience: No staff ..no health & safety is not the best
Positive experience: Gym facilities are really good. Equipment is nicely spaced out so even when it is busy it does not feel like it. Nice range of classes available. It would be helpful to have the cleaning stations topped up more regularly as most times there has only been 1 out of 4 available.
Negative experience: Cleaners always get in your way hoovering the floor. The female PTs are rude I think mainly because I'm good looking and attract attention which disrupts my workout. And it's abit outdated. Does the job though

Fantastic experience: A very well equipped gym. Not the most up to date machinery, but does the job perfectly fine. Staff are friendly and helpful. The app is useful as it shows live information on how many people are there, as well as expected occupancy looking ahead.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, no judgement, people are friendly, open 24 hours. I really enjoy it here, I haven't worked out in a while and it feels great to be back on it. The free flavoured water makes the more expensive membership worthwhile, I've never been more hydrated in my life!

Positive experience: Good parking, good equipment generally however the showers have been out of use for weeks and a huge area taped off due to water damage which hasn't been fixed for weeks also. Generally clean and tidy.

Negative experience: So it's a gym, mainly aimed at cardio. They have limited weightlifting/strength equipment for the amount of members they have each day and your routine will be disrupted waiting for equipment to become free..... its pretty soulless with the members mostly there to look at the women or just to look good lol.. its not a "serious" gym but serves a purpose for the masses.

Fantastic experience: This gym is equipped with a good number and range of machines and free weights. This has changed slightly since the gym was refurbished to prioritise the equipment that people were using most often. The layout is good, with a new area created for boot camp style training. The gym is clean, I was there for a couple of hours and saw the cleaner round at least 3 times, the other gym staff spot cleaning equipment and other gym users following the guidance to clean equipment down after use. As mentioned the gym is recently refurbished with some changes to the previous layout. It has a more open feel to the place now and with a refreshed decor it seems like new again.

Fantastic experience: Great equipment, central location, friendly staff that are always looking to help you and the gym is kept very clean and sanitised.

Positive experience: Have been using this gym on and off since it opened. The facilities are great and they have a wide range of equipment with an expansive free weights section. I tend to like to go when it is quieter, and the app with live numbers really helps to plan ahead. My only issue really is how outdated the machines are now compared to other Pure Gyms; they've not been upgraded since it first opened. But overall, the gym I would recommend for people. Good price, the Yanga Sports Water station is amazing, and the flexibility is great for those who are unable to commit fully.
