Fantastic experience: very clean facility, helpful and experienced team.I. use the gym and my wife uses the trimming room

Negative experience: Never been there I have been to Monmouth Comprehensive school Taxi pick up.. The Google map is not working correctly the school is next door to IT SORRY to the Leisure centre the 1 star is for Google Maps poor location tool

Fantastic experience:

Positive experience: Will definitely keep visiting when in the area. Pros - Really good venue, helpful staff, excellent soft play area, affordable, enough parking. Cons - App for booking is OK but a little truncated, squash courts are average quality (slightly soft flooring so less bounce), swimming lessons for toddlers requires commitment for a lot of sessions.

Positive experience: Great venue with a large variety of things to do. Staff are really helpful , shame it close early on a Saturday.

Negative experience: Such a shame how this place has declined. It used to be a great place to go with knowledgeable staff. Now, it seems to be ran by uninterested kids. The spa area is pretty poor compared to what it used to be like. The area clearly isn't being regularly cleaned (no toilet paper available) and the steam room is regularly out of order. They seem to be allowing under 18s to enter the spa area as well - staff used to have a better grasp on numbers in this area and would always clamp down on kids being in there. The spa is now loud, crowded, unclean and the kids allowed in have no etiquette, staying in the Jacuzzi for ages, preventing others from using it.

Negative experience: My autistic son does really like swimming and that helps him to reduce his high functioning and calms his anxiety. He can swim safely and likes to go to deep end. Even though he is in under my supervision the member of staff are asking to prove that he can do swim stroke. He won’t understand and I cannot make him to do that. But they force us to do that he is not allowed otherwise. Some of them understand and let him to enjoy his swim. But yesterday another member of staff did not understand and tolerate his condition as I tried to explain, then a duty manager was involved. She had same reaction and did ask to prove if he could overarm stroke all the way to end and back of the pool then he is allowed It is impossible to tell an Autistic child do that. She was not helpful at all and as a duty manager should be aware of the Autism and the condition. My son got really upset and start slapping himself and crying. She just stood there and watched. We left there as felt he has been discriminated. What a shame!

Fantastic experience: I wanted to get a workout in in unusual circumstances and Andrew at reception was so helpful and generous with his time. From what I saw the facilities were great and the staff were incredibly helpful

Negative experience: It seems every time we come to the soft play there are issues with the staff, the average age seems to be 16 and they act like they'd rather be somewhere else. They congregate in the corner talking and you have to wait a while to be served. When you eventually get served your order gets lost and have to make several trips back to the counter only for your order to be told that they don't have the order. The same can be said for the hot drinks that are luke warm by the time you get them. Sorry to say but the staff are lazy, would rather stand around talking and don't clean tables and take empty cups, plates etc. Huge improvements are needed in terms of customer service as it's lacking unfortunately.

Positive experience: We come swimming here regularly and always have a great time! Soft play is cheap and a perfect place for kids to blow off some steam. Kids packed lunch boxes are a little steep but the kids love them. They serve Costa along with a wide variety of refreshments in the softplay and the lobby. Lots of toys, woggles and a slide for the kids during family swim.

Positive experience: Not very impressed with the family swim. Only 45 minute session and only have access to half the pool which was very crowded. Would be perfect for under 5’s which couldn’t swim.

Fantastic experience: I used to come here when it was the old building and the original swimming pool.. Now it's the best.. The facilities are second to none, staff are fabulous and great coffee area. The gym and class staff are superb and always on hand if you have a problem and always happy to assist. It's beautifully clean, looked after and a pleasure to attend. The prices also are reasonable. Keep up the good work!

Negative experience: Good leisure centre with plenty of facilities, but let down by inadequate maintenance. For example, nice astro pitch but very poor line marking and goal netting. Needs maintenance.

Fantastic experience: I'm in a wheelchair and everywhere is accessible, with disabled loos and changing room. Excellent gym and the swimming pool even has disabled sessions on a Sunday. Friendly knowledgeable staff too. Great value for me too, I get membership through the "fit for life" programme so it's only £16.50 a month.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities great value. Staff are brilliant especially Ellen on reception, she doesn't believe in problems just solutions! Cherie who served me in the cafe is really friendly and helpful even when you can see it's really busy, the strong integrity of the team show's. Negative experience: Disgusting changing facilities for the swimming pool strong smell of urine absolutely disgraceful and vile the money that was pumped into this place and they can't even keep it clean the stench of urine in the changing rooms was overwhelming will not be returning.

Negative experience: Note : £20.00 compulsory induction before using the gym. I have been using gyms all over the world for 15 years and never seen something so rediculous. Absolute scam, I would give 0 stars. Even if you have been forced to cater to meaningless council regulation, an enforced induction should be free. How are you ever going to expect to cater for tourists and holiday makers?

Positive experience: A bit of a gem here. Love the family swim sessions, as the kids get on with it so well.

Fantastic experience: Bright and welcoming reception area. Pleasant and helpful staff. Combined changing rooms may not suit everyone, but the cubicles were a good size and there were plenty of lockers. Both the changing room and the pool were pleasantly warm.

Negative experience: I have attempted to ring a number of times now, not only getting no-one answering the phone, but then also getting a voicemail service which doesn't work. This is not a good way of getting and retaining customers.

Fantastic experience: I was visiting Monmouth and used the swimming pool. Really nice changing facilities and I loved the easy access steps to the pool.

Positive experience: This place seems well equipped. I was staying at a local camp site with no shower facilities and this centre let me enter for a small fee to use theirs. Changing rooms and showers were nice and clean and the overall place great. I would visit again if I needed to.
