Fantastic experience: We booked holmes for my sisters 40th birthday celebrations. We had booked 3 rooms and from the moment we arrived which can I note was around 11am they had one room ready for us which I had requested so we could put our bags down and freshen up. The gentlemen who checked us in was so polite. The little things made such a difference including our welcome drink vouchers. They had complimentary water, chocolates and even provided us all with umbrellas as it was raining. The hotel was so beautiful so homely and warm/cosy. We had booked the studios. They were so nice in size and clean. The staff were lovely especially Benjamin Bigg. He was so lovely. The service definitely made our stay. He even put a bag of goodies together for my sisters kids to take home. Absolutely love this hotel. Would highly recommend. I can’t wait to take my husband and daughter back. Thank you Holmes Hotel for everything.

Fantastic experience: We just returned from a one night stay at this hotel as a party of 9. The hotel is very warm and welcoming and is beautiful. The overall standard, including service and cleanliness is outstanding. I would to like an especially thank Benjamin BIGG the hotel manager for his hospitality and care during our stay. Fantastic experience: From start to finish we had a great time. When we arrived the receptionist was so friendly, welcoming and informative our room was not ready so we went to the bar for coffee. We were served by Grace who was lovely and even recommended some things to do in the area while we waited for our room (The Wallace Collection is a hidden gem!) then the next morning when she was running around a busy breakfast room she took the time to ask what we'd done and if we'd enjoyed ourselves. She also recommended the spicy eggs and avocado on toast which was so good my husband had it every day. All the food was amazing this hotel has some really talented chefs! The hotel is cute and Sherlock Holmes theme without being over the top and the location is perfect. Totally recommend

Fantastic experience: We stayed at Holmes Hotel over half term with our 2 children, age 9 and 12. The hotel was beautiful. The staff really friendly and couldn’t do more for you. Our room was clean, tidy and had plenty of space for us as a family. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning and couldn’t fault it. It was our little girls birthday during our stay and the staff went over and above to make her feel special. The bar is lovely and cosy. The cocktails are worth a try. The hotel itself is in a great location just 2 minutes from Baker Street Tube Station. Or if you fancy a walk,a 15 minute stroll through Marylebone took you down to Oxford Street. We had a fantastic 3 night stay and we will be booking at Holmes Hotel again next down we are in London. Just perfect. Thanks you to all the staff at Holmes for your friendly welcome. We had the best time.

Fantastic location amazing staff, can’t praise enough, weather looking for a relaxing stay a stone throw from all the tourist attractions or a location to take advantage of some great conference facilities, this is the hotel for you. Positive experience: Overrated and expensive. Location is great! Close to baker street tube station and baker street itself has plenty of shops, restaurants and tesco/sainsbury to go. The room was large yet 2 small single beds for a twin. Marble bathroom floor was cracked and creaky.Desk and standing lamp didn’t work. Laminate flooring- great! Would I stay here again? Probably not. Too expensive for what you get.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had an amazing experience staying four nights at the Holmes Hotel last week! From the minute we stepped through the front door at check-in and were warmly greeted until the friendly sendoff upon leaving, the service was top notch. The staff made us feel welcomed and cared for. Our bartender Ruben, our server Yulia, and the restaurant host Lorenzo were all lovely. Lorenzo, being Italian, was the perfect target for my sad attempt at practicing his native language, yet he encouraged me with kindness and grace and gave my husband and me a warm greeting when entering the dining room for breakfast each day. His smile perked us up just as much as the delicious breakfasts and cappucinos! And then there's Silas, the food and beverage manager--what an amazing young man. His level of friendliness, hospitality and professionalism blew us away, making sure we received our food and drinks promptly and that everything met our standards. We felt like VIP's, especially in light of the fact that Silas was also overseeing a large private event in another part of the hotel! The chef and staff in the kitchen work hard, and it shows by the quality of the food. Manuel, Rachel, and the reception staff were friendly and always willing to help out with restaurant advice, taxi service, etc. Manuel even called us by name a couple days after first meeting us--he remembered! Our room was cozy yet spacious by London standards, and being a boutique hotel, the entire property has character and charm. Even if you're not a Sherlock Holmes fan, you will appreciate the whimsical yet modern decor. Loved the fun Sherlock themed features in our room and the clever riddle on the wall across from the elevator. The entire hotel, including our room, was impeccably clean, and our bed was super comfy. The Holmes is situated just a short walk from the tube station and centrally located for easy access to seeing the sights. I have to say, this was perhaps one of the most wonderfully memorable hotel stays in all our years of travel in the US and Europe. Well done, Holmes Hotel staff!!!

Fantastic experience: We stayed here recently as we were getting married in Marylebone. The hotel is wonderful - clean & quirky and an excellent location. Fantastic experience: The reception staff is welcoming and friendly. Ruben at the bar took care of us and recommended and great signature cocktail (I can't remember the name of it!). The atmosphere was lively and energetic without being too loud, a perfect balance for a relaxed yet vibrant evening. Most of the tables were occupied but the service was high quality and everything went smoothly

Fantastic experience: From our arrival it was obvious that the hotel focuses on customer service - my friends and I were all made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The hotel room I stayed in was spacious and clean with a lovely en-suite bathroom with tasteful lighting; the decor around the hotel was all very interesting, with the theme of Sherlock Holmes in evidence but without being over the top; and both the evening meal and breakfast the following day was of a very high standard. We were attended to by ‘Costa’(?) in the evening who was very personable and nothing was too much for him and his colleagues. All in all a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: To whom it concern: my stay at the Holmes hotel was absolutely fantastic. The service is A+ and the staff extremely helpful. I had lost my dogs favorite plushy toy and the night manager assisted me in finding it. A lovely chap he was, possibly still is. The rooms were clean and tidy but not too soulless. The cocks at the bar were delightful and full of flavor. I would definitely return. Also the security guard named Omar was very helpful.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing stay here! Can't beat the location and the service was fantastic. So many little nooks and crannies to go and relax in and the bar is top-notch. They make their own infusions for cocktails and the care they put into their drinks makes all the difference. I even had a late-night emergency (i'll skip the details) and had to switch rooms and the staff was very accommodating. Will book again!

Fantastic experience: My sister and I visited London in August to sightsee and attend a Taylor Swift concert at Wembley. I had been to London before, but this was the first time I was seeking hotel accommodations there. I knew I loved the Baker Street area from previous trips, which is bustling with shops and restaurants and near to the beautiful Regents Park. Holmes Hotel London popped up in my searches and I am so glad we booked our stay with them! The hotel staff was incredibly kind, helpful and personable, our room was spotless and well maintained by housekeeping throughout our visit, the restaurant was lovely and the location couldn't have been more perfect (easy transportation everywhere from Baker Street Station, which is only a short walk from the hotel). I loved how the hotel was decorated and it smells divine throughout the reception and lounge areas. There were a few times we interacted with reception beyond checking in and out and they went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed (ex: booking a cab to the airport, request for more towels and earlier housekeeping the day of the concert, etc.). On the day we arrived, we were jetlagged and I didn't realize my brand new sound machine had turned on inside of my checked luggage. It was playing a lullaby very loudly but I assumed it was coming from the hotel speakers. We left to explore for the day and when we returned hours later, the hotel staff had determined the source of the lullaby (without opening my bag) and we had the best laugh about it. I felt so badly that I'd left the bag there playing that song on repeat all day, but they assured us it was okay and even gave us free welcome drinks which was so very kind. They solved a real life Sherlock Holmes mystery and gave us an unforgettable memory along the way. We were so sad to leave at the end of our trip and can't wait to come back and stay there again one day soon. They have my highest recommendation!

Fantastic experience: I walked in to make a reservation and Marie (from Italy) was incredible. She accommodated us even though we had to change rooms. When we had an issue with a bathroom door not closing, they quickly changed our room as well. The Service was excellent!

Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved Holmes Hotel which is located fairly close to Marylebone, which is one of my favourite areas in London. Also its lovely to escape to the Regents Park for a lovely walk before breakfast. The rooms are lovely and clean and well equipped we we welcomed by the reception and they checked us in very promptly. The food was excellent in the restaurant and Kanya was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine suggestions. Ruben on the bar also prepared some amazing cocktails for us both. I would highly recommend this hotel and we would return without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at Holmes Hotel the night before our wedding at Marylebone Town Hall and we could not have made a better decision. From the moment we walked into the hotel where Ash greeted us by name, we felt like we were living a truly 5 star experience. I have honestly never stayed anywhere with such a personalised experienced as we experienced at the Holmes Hotel. Ash very kindly upgraded our room and treated us to some complimentary wine in the bar while we waited for it to be ready. When we got to our room there was champagne on ice as well as some lovely other surprises. We stayed in the two storey townhouse and it was such an incredible room on two levels with two televisions, a sofa, desk etc. We have already recommended the hotel to our family and friends and cannot wait for our next visit!
Fantastic experience: A truly lovely hotel with excellent service. We got a suite for our family of four. The room was large, comfortable and quiet. The housekeeping services were fantastic. We had breakfast in the hotel every morning and it was tasty with large portions. Drinks at the bar and our one dinner in the restaurant were also very good. The hotel is quite close to the tube and several bus lines. It is easy to get around London from here. Also, Regent's Park is a short walk away and very charming. Most of all, the service was outstanding. We lost some of my son's medication in our travels and the front desk folks helped us figure out what to do. They were extremely kind and helpful. We felt very welcomed and comfortable at all times. Highly recommend this wonderful hotel!

Fantastic experience: Rooms are comfortable and location is convenient. I stayed here twice during my london trip, and the staff here have been super accommodating and friendly. Travelled up to glasgow and i didnt want to bring my luggage, and the staff looked after and brought it my room when i returned. Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience in this hotel, first of all the location is fantastic. I stayed here for an event and the staff are super friendly. Kimberley was very good at attending to us whenever we needed something and also she had given us a tour of the meeting and conference rooms the night before. She had excellent communication skills, thank you very much for serving us that night. We loved the conference rooms so much that we decided to get in touch with the meetings and events manager to book one of the conference rooms last minute and we are very grateful that they were able to accommodate this for us. The customer service is exceptional, I find that they really care about their guests and always put them first. I would definitely come back again!

Fantastic experience: Stayed on business in 2019 because it was near the office. Came back with family this year because of the staff and neighborhood. Hotel is great. Leans into the theme, but not too hard. Staff from check-in through to service have been phenomenal this visit. Easy access to transport and short walk to shops and restaurants. Rooms are good-sized to large and clean.

Fantastic experience: We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and in particular we would like to thank Gleb and the night manager from Lithuania. A theft occurred to us while sitting c/o the Holmes terrace. They helped us with sorting out all the bureaucracy, made several calls to the police and phone operators. Their support and competence have been remarkable.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful experience at the holmes hotel which we chose based on ratings. We got a suite which could accommodate our family of 4. The rooms were spacious and clean. Service was good from the friendly staff. Location was great too, walking distance to the Baker St station and Marylebone train station, also to the Oxford shopping street. Thanks to the Staff who helped setup a birthday surprise for my kids. Only con was there were some steps which we had to bring our luggages up and down when we checked in and out.

Positive experience: Fantastic location and helpful staff. The room was comfortable and quite nice. A few minor issues which could’ve been addressed - the mechanical curtain didn’t close all the way and the shower head was stuck in a wonky position.

Fantastic experience: We had a truly wonderful stay. The location is perfect and the hotel is thoughtfully designed. The best part is the staff, especially Lorenzo at the restaurant, who made us and our baby feel welcomed every morning. We’ll definitely be back.
Positive experience: This hotel was very cute and I loved the decor. Only downside was it was uncomfortably hot. Me and my husband both sleep in a very cold environment and we had to ask for a fan for the temperature to be tolerable. It was still very difficult to sleep. I loved the location. Very close to a tube entrance. And a bus stop. To be fair, all European hotels were uncomfortably warm. That might be a strictly American thing to sleep in a tundra. Still if you are traveling there in summer or fall it’s probably fantastic.

Positive experience: Having stayed at the Holmes on several other occasions now, I feel compelled to post an updated review, after previously posting a 5* review. The service has most definitely been allowed to slip over the past 3 years. Check in was very impersonal and the receptionist looked totally bored. We'd requested an early check in as we had theatre tickets, but fair enough, our room wasn't ready, but to be offered the disabled toilet for 3 of us to get changed in...really, not what you'd expect in a 5* hotel is ut...and no towels etc! Not enough cups in the room for 3 of us, no tea bags, therefore had to order room service, then no sugar with said drinks. Upon check out, weren't even asked how our stay was...to be honest, as uninterested as check in! Staff in bar/restaurant were very good and bar snacks & breakfast very nice. All in all though disappointed in the decline....☹️

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing time staying at the Holmes hotel! The room was absolutely lovely and the breakfast was wonderful especially the bacon! A massive thank you to Ben, the reception manager, who was absolutely amazing and was there at any time we had any questions about the hotel and our trip around London. Positive experience: Nice Hotel, conveniently located at the heart of London, where you can walk to any major attraction in 15-30 minutes. Customer service is really good. Reception is very warm, special thanks to Eugenia and Luisa. The rooms are good and comfortable, but the wooden floors can make the rooms a bit noisy. Breakfast is A la Carte Menu, yet quite delicious. Other than that, thats a good hotel and I recommend staying there.

Fantastic experience: Pet parents, do yourself a favour & book this hotel. I intended to stay at Holmes hotel for 1 night but ended up staying for 2 whole weeks in December, again in April, May & August for 2 weeks again- this says volumes about how amazing Holmes is. My review is going to be as long as my stay haha as this hotel is truely exceptional. My dog & I just moved to London & we were greeted with immense warmth from all the staff who went out of their way to make sure my dog felt at home. It’s the little things that go a long way, allowing dogs in all areas, providing a dog bed & bowl. Clean rooms, great location, 2 min from Baker Street & 5 min from Regent’s Park for all the dog walks. Many pet shops nearby & vets too. Vegan pancakes for breakfast were great, since it’s veganuary I would’ve preferred more vegan options on the menu. My dog & I were away from family on Christmas eve so my best friend called up Holmes hotel to deliver something to my room & they sent us dog treats & cookies along with a handwritten Christmas card + a perfume (all as a kind gesture). Our dog bowl went missing (we called it the Mystery of the missing dog bowl) and the manager Ben Big was so kind to order & deliver another bowl to our room. Infact I must mention Aster the night manager, Maria & Kimberly, the whole reason we extended our stay was because of these 3 ladies & their hospitality (they gave us an upgrade & late check out as we had all our belongings after we relocated). Grace is the best communicator I’ve seen in the many hotels I’ve stayed in as a full time traveler. Also Steven is a wonderful asset to Holmes, he helped us immensely. Grace, Dasha, Charmaine, Ryesha, Yolanda, Marta were all kind & lovely. I’ve never seen staff who go out of their way the way the Holmes staff do. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars instead of 5 for service is because we had a bad checkout experience with the day manager Laura who spoke to us rudely, had the harshest communication tone I’ve ever seen in hospitality & this is only our only black dot in an otherwise happy stay at Homes (and edit to my review, I’ve now had 2 rude communication encounters with the same manager Laura in august as well). Also the rooms can be very noisy in the 1st & Mezzanine floors as you can hear everything from the next door rooms. I will be sure to repeatedly book at Holmes for my family members who visit me each month & my dog & I will be visiting this hotel at every chance we get just to greet the lovely staff who’ve become like our London family in the 2 weeks that we’ve stayed here. I do customer service trainings for corporates in Dubai & I’m an EQ coach/ psychologist, so it’s very impressive that the Holmes staff have managed to surpass my expectations & follow customer satisfaction best practises. I’d go so far as to say this has been my best hotel experience in all my travels, highly recommend to pet parents & anyone that appreciates great service.
Negative experience: I don't particularly enjoy having altercations, but at this place, I was not comfortable during my stay at all. Especially with the rude concierge, after being scolded for eating my food near the fireplace in the drawing room. She then asked if I was staying there or just a guest. I don’t expect everyone to remember me, but she’s the one who confirmed my reservation, by the way. My experience should feel relaxing and not aggravated as if I’m walking on eggshells, especially for 300+ a night. I arrived at this hotel on the 24th of Dec. for a nine-day stay. Given our flight delay and the way reservations were made, we arrived hours later. Since we didn’t use the room the night prior, I asked kindly if that one night could be refunded. They refused to accommodate me based on their policy. I stayed respectful and asked politely if they could look into it. The following day concierge told me they could only do 25% off that night and that they weren’t even suppose to do that but will do me a favor! The staff handling this said, “We are already accommodating this for you when we don’t have to, and once I complete my stay, they will refund 25% of that night only.” I thanked them and moved on. One of the evenings, I was sitting in the lounge seating area near the elevator (not a bar or restaurant) but the drawing room, where you can sit, play board games, or relax by the fire…one of the concierges walked by and said: “You can’t eat outside food here only in your room.” A few hours prior, there was a group of kids and a family that practically destroyed the living room and left trash and their snacks. These kids killed the area by throwing little potted plants, ripping them out of pots, and crushing them. Dirt was everywhere. No one reprimanded them or even batted an eye, yet I couldn’t sit by the fire and eat a small sandwich. I have stayed at many hotels, and I’ve never had such a hostile experience. I’ve spent over 3,000$ on a small, dirty room and a rude receptionist. If I had known this, I would’ve paid more to stay elsewhere. The room has broken lights in the bathroom, and the bathroom fan doesn’t work when showering, causing mildew growth around the shower tile. The shower was dirty, with holes in the walls, mold in the shower (needs to be recaulked), holes in my pillows, dusty bathrooms, rust all over the shower head and sink, and the shower head had hair. I know the room was cleaned because it has condiments with “washed towels.” Some of you will say well, why didn’t you say anything. I did! What were they going to do? Move me into another dirty room!? We arrived early afternoon, dropped off bags and went to get some food. I didn’t discover any of the issues until later that night. It was disgusting. I am not going to move rooms when I just had a long day and I am jet-lagged. I’m already being refused a one-night refund and any other accommodations. I simply want everyone to know what you are paying for, that's all! On top of that, the staff had weeks to repair and clean that room before my stay. Again, I understand not everything is going to be perfect, but if I’m spending more than 3k on a room, I at least would expect it to be clean. This isn’t my first trip to London or Europe. I’ve traveled all over. I swear, after COVID, everything is getting run down and run through. People do not respect anyone and lack of self-awareness. Customer service is down the drain, and no one gives a rat's tail. It’s sad What has happened. I have worked in hospitality before, and I am not an entitled person who thinks the world spins around me. See photos for yourself. The restaurant is dirty, and the chairs and seating area are dirty. The staff doesn’t wash their hands or clean the tables (zero sanitation). The uniforms are dirty, BO. The only good thing about this area is the location and coffee shops!!!!! Just be careful and watch your step outside walking, you might just step into dog poop! Update: manager reached out to me after this review and offered refund for the night I wasn’t there.
Fantastic experience: A great and classic hotel, although not the cheapest, but the service is excellent, wonderful staff, excellent location, spotlessly clean, pleasant and inviting lobby, a la carte breakfast at a very high level, I believe I will come back here again, it was a wonderful experience. I would easily give this hotel a five star rating. Two small things that bothered me a little: when you step on the parquet floors in the room they are very noisy. Second thing: I would add more power points
Negative experience: The hotel has very loud rooms so is not for those who need a quiet environment to sleep in. In addition unfortunately one of the party were in hospital and due to undergo an emergency operation and the hotel refused to let us cancel the room - stating that it was a non refundable rate. I understand that this was the case but found this to be heartless. To add insult to injury the reception staff were offering the room to people checking in stating that “ they probably won’t turn up “ Would never stay here or another hotel in the same group from now on.

Positive experience: Wanted to like this hotel, but I didn’t much. Pros - great location, lovely reception staff who could not have been more helpful, v comfortable bed, lots of towels, great bathroom. Nice lounge with little sitting areas. On the other hand… rooms had way TOO MUCH black - I could hardly see anything. Importantly, almost NOwhere to actually put stuff. One single small drawer at bottom of black wardrobe?! Ridiculous. And very little horizontal space in bathroom - I’d rather a reasonable shelf or two than a huge stylish basin. Had to ask for a suitcase stand as not supplied. Room dominated by ginormous black framed screen cum TV cum whatever. The system simply refused to recognise me, so that didn’t work well for me and I was too exhausted to seek help overcome it. First room they tried to put me in sounded like a wind tunnel, impossible to tolerate. I complained and they gave me another.That room got a fair bit of noise either from next door/below - could hear people walking about. Nice bar but not impressed with restaurant or food. Only a few of the dishes I tried were nice - some just were tasteless (rubbery scrambled eggs for example) or not terribly good. Eating elsewhere was better. Really felt like ubercool style there is valued much more than substance and real guest comfort. I would not revisit.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous stay at the Holmes Hotel! A 2-minute walk to Baker Street tube station, it is perfectly located to lots of amenities. The staff were super helpful, especially Reception Manager Ben and his colleague Charmaine. We also especially liked the breakfast and coffee. Can't wait to visit again soon!
Fantastic experience: Lovely experience and a restful few days at the Holmes Hotel. The staff were friendly and engaging,enjoyed talking to them very much! The lounge area is superbly decorated with two fire places and the bar / restaurant area looks inviting. The room was comfy and enjoyed the addition charging ports by the desk!
Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holmes Hotel during my visit to London which is a 2 minute walk from the tube station. The staff at Holmes Hotel are a credit to the company. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests feel welcome and comfortable. The level of service was fantastic, with friendly and attentive staff members always ready to assist with any requests or provide helpful recommendations. We had breakfast every morning and was a great way for us fuel our escapades around London. One of my favourite things about Holmes Hotel was the coffee cups in the restaurant and how it managed to keep the coffee hot for so long. I'd also like to give a special mention to Ben the reception manager who always went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

Negative experience: The rooms at this hotel are very clean. Unfortunately the ability to use the air conditioning to cool the room is not available after Oct 30th, per the front desk staff. Our room is unbearably warm with a very small window which only partially opens. The front desk staff is incompetent and we were over charged nearly $1000.00 in different transactions! I would not recommend this hotel until they train proper staff. Update to this review: Benjamin Bigg, front desk manager, has worked diligently to refund the over charges which is highly appreciated. He also had 2 fans delivered to the room which improved the temperature. He demonstrated outstanding professionalism and very friendly demeanor.

Fantastic experience: Central hotel but quiet -lovely traditional & luxurious decor with very attentive staff who were extremely helpful. The rooms are really well presented with luxurious extras & the sheets are amazing giving a great nights sleep. Breakfast in the restaurant was fabulous- nice choice - healthy or traditional English - all great tasting. Just a lovely hotel & very central but it doesn’t feel like it when you walk in the doors

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from an absolutely superb stay at Holmes Hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel is beautifully appointed, and our room was spacious and relaxing. We dined at the restaurant on our first night - which again, was incredible. Location wise, the hotel is a 2 minute walk from Baker Street station, which makes it a great base for exploring the city. Can't praise the hotel highly enough. Fantastic experience: We celebrated our wedding at The Holmes Hotel last month and the whole team were absolutely fabulous Very accommodating, friendly and helpful and just very professional. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was also fantastic. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the lunch which was great as we hadn't even tried the food ahead of time but trusted that it would be great based on our visits and also a recommendation. The spaces we used on the day were perfect and the whole experience was just seamless. All the team on the day were great so thank you to everyone who contributed to making our wedding day so special. A special thanks to Oscar the Events Manager who executed everything perfectly and looked after us both in the lead up and on the day itself. And also a special thanks to Rowan who went above and beyond to help my mum during our stay. She was singing your praises and very grateful. 100% recommend The Holmes Hotel for a special occasion.
Fantastic experience: We stayed for a week and it was very pleasant stay. Location is very prime, near all restaurants and station yet not so busy and noisy. The lobby and room finish is luxurious, cozy, clean and new. The only one thing is missing is an experienced concierge. Definitely coming back again in future

Positive experience: I've stayed here a few times. The location is fantastic as are the staff—seriously the staff are amazing. The rooms are clean and well kept. The only deal-breaker is the noise: You can hear your neighbors talking; footsteps upstairs and next door. Doors opening and closing. A good night's sleep is impossible. I complained about this and the staff helpfully moved me to another room which was just as bad. The hotel maintains that because it is such an old building, it has poor sound insulation... but I've stayed many old hotels in London and not had the noise problem. If it weren't for the lack of sound insulation I'd have given it a 5.

Fantastic experience: We stayed one night in the hotel, the day before our wedding, and even though we live in the city, the entire experience made us feel as if we were on vacation. The room was amazing, and the staff went the extra mile by creating a special wedding atmosphere in our room. The morning breakfast was truly delicious. Fantastic experience: We spent a wonderful few days at the Holmes hotel and enjoyed the property, service, and food. The hotel is located very conveniently to many attractions and high-end shopping. The Kitchen restaurant has a nice diversity of food and we sampled multiple dishes over several meals. The service at the restaurant was a stand-out with Kosta and his team really taking good care of us. We had a great stay overall.

Fantastic experience: This place is great! I'm from Glasgow, and whenever I'm in London my cousin and I always come here, the atmosphere is chill and cool, Fatmir and his staff are really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. The food is wonderful, with attention to detail, warm and fast. And for their prices, it’s 100% worth it.

Fantastic experience: Super helpful staff, great location, wonderful experience. The king bed room with sofa bed we booked did not get cleaned when we checked in. Night shift manager upgraded us to a bigger suite and offered free breakfast. My son got a very cute toy dog when we checked out. Room was very clean and nice inside. And very quite at night. Highly recommend it to travelers with family and kids.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic stay here. Best sleep of my life, and breakfast was to die for. Steps away from the bustling streets of Mayfair, close to Paddington. Cute boutique hotel with Sherlock Holmes theme. Absolutely adored everything about this hotel and its location. Would return.

Positive experience: Had a lovely stay for one night. The location is great if you are travelling in from Marylebone. My wife was particularly impressed with their signature scent, very welcoming. Will hopefully be returning again on another London trip.

Negative experience: I visited this restaurant and regretted it. The waiters are not very friendly. The food... seems to be something special but is actually almost non-edible. After their special octopus, I felt bad for two days.

Positive experience: Little gem, great interior and atmosphere, good menu thst includes seasonal produce. Loved the grilled chicken, fantastic for a quick lunch and fairly reasonably priced. Thumbs up!

Fantastic experience: Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids lived in this very nice hotel for three nights during March 2023. It is a very nice hotel, with overall nice rooms and very good service. We booked two rooms, one studio suite to serve as day-time room and sleeping accommodation and an additional standard room (a.k.a. "cozy room") to make sleeping for the four of us less crowded. The kids no longer want to share a sofa bed :) There is a significant difference in standard between the studio suite and the standard/cozy room. The studio suite is very nicely furnished, but the cozy room is quite sparsely furnished, and doesn't for instance have bedside lights. So it's rather sterile really. But it didn't matter to us since we spent daytime for the entire family in the studio suite. Recommendation if you want to stay here is to book an upgraded room.

Fantastic experience: Great quirky Hotel located at Marylebone. It features Sherlock holmes decor throughout. We had a superior room which made it big enough (I believe the cosy room would be too small). Bathroom could be a but bigger but was ok. Comfortable bed, lovely lobby and a good a la carte breakfast freshly prepared.
Negative experience: Different but nothing special, although some of the staff were very helpful, with the Bell Boy actually asking for a tip! He got a smack instead with my tip telling him it's for the guest to offer him a tip if he had earned it and not for him to ask. You just can't get good staff these days can you !!

Positive experience: Didn’t stay overnight. Needed to kill some time and spent it in the bar and lounge. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and genuinely seemed to be enjoying what they do. Lovely fireplace areas in the lounge area which is well paced out and we’re providing table service there. Perhaps a few more low cal dishes on the menu would be my only feedback. A drawback of the need now to display calories !
Fantastic experience: You don't have to stay here to enjoy a classy bar at the front. The most elegant choice for a drink or two (even if matcha tea) in a long circle surrounding Baker Street tube.
Positive experience: Nice cosy bar. Staff were friendly. Cocktails were just ok and overpriced.

Fantastic experience: I stayed here for three nights in October 2022 and it will now be my first choice for a hotel in London. The condition and maintenance of the hotel is superb as is the location - easy walking distance to most attractions in London. Reception will easily call a cab for you - otherwise there are many Uber cars around this area. There are three standout areas. Firstly, the staff really engage with you - they laugh with you. That really makes you feel at home in a hotel. Whatever changes I needed to make for the booking was not a problem. Secondly, was the quality of food for breakfast - not every hotel gets this right and having a table service is so much more relaxing than a buffet. Thirdly, quality of the rooms - really excellent. Admittedly, I paid a corporate rate because I was here on business but it would be my personal choice now as I've experienced it. Thoroughly recommended.

Negative experience: Terrible. It’s November and the Roms are over 25 degrees and no chance to change it!! If you want to have any chance to sleep dont Stay at Holmes!!! This is Sauna hell!!!!!
