Fantastic experience: Has now turned into my go to snooker club. Friendly staff, always relatively quiet and relaxed. Mixed crowd with pool, snooker darts and indoor bowls for the older crowd. Good prices. Roughly £7 an hour for snooker. Not sure on the exact price.

Fantastic experience: An absolute gem of a place, brilliant tables, and much, much more, well stocked bar and area. 1st time I've been there but most certainly not the last, recommend to anyone, even if you don't play.

Positive experience: Went there for american pool, only one table but in really good condition. Lots of enlgish pool and snooker tables in good condition. Unfortunately the staff there would give me unplayable balls (chipped and destroyed), and reserved the brand new balls (which I only realised at the end of my session) for god knows who. A promising experience at the beginning, ended as deflating and frustrating as I literally couldnt pot simple stop shots.

Positive experience: Have been going to this pool hall for several years but last night was a joke, it was more like a youth club than a sports venue, I was there with my family and the language from the teenagers there was unbelievable, its totally unfair when you pay £18 to play pool or snooker and can't concentrate on your game, unfortunately we'll probably have to start going somewhere else, and cancel our membership here.

Negative experience: This is the worst gym ever! No fan, no AC (as they say they don’t put a fan or AC on because of covid where is the sense of this) and no hot water to shower!!! I do not recommend Gym here!!!

Positive experience: Been a few times now. Reasonable price and considering becoming a member with how much it cost. Pool and snooker tables are good quality. An OK range of drinks and staff are friendly and professional. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this pool hall for over thirty years. I remember when it was just a corridor with a set of cues and half the balls missing, now it’s an entire hall! My god time flys by quickly. Soak every last bit of fun up you can, god knows you’ll need it in this harsh and unforgiving world, my god it’s unforgiving. My ex wife was unforgiving until she forgave me for forgiving the man that forgot to apologise to her outside of Safeway’s for bumping into her, they were the days. You’d have never heard of Ronny O’Sullivan if I didn’t develop that aggressive case of carpel tunnel, I was a child prodigy, my Dad said he’d never seen someone line up a que like me, I was a real straight shooter. The lads at school called me ballbag, I liked to think I acquired the moniker because of my pub game prowess, but after years of utter abuse at the hands of those chappies, I’m beginning to think that wasn’t the case.

Fantastic experience: Top little pool hall, always go for a chilled game of pool or snooker. Go down with the lads on multiple occasions for a few games. Price is about average for a few games can’t complain. You can get food there but I never have. They also have a full line up darts and it’s always a good watch when there is a game on. Check it out

Negative experience: It's expensive (especially for non members ) the lager on draft is alright, bottles of lager are expensive. They have other beers on draft but it's to each and every others personal preference. Regarding the pool tables, they are good quality, the snooker tables are of a higher level and obviously the cost of the tables is a lot more expensive than in a 'local pub'. An hour of pool costs £5 and you are given a token for the machine, it's wise to order your drinks and take them to the tables BEFORE purchasing a token, then you'll get your balls and a couple of cues(the cues are just plain, average standard ,they also take a deposit for the equipment)also use your phone light to be able to set up your table BEFORE putting your token for the light in to save yourself some money. It's easy to spend £20 in that first hour and how you budget yourself in that first hour will help you a lot in how long and how much you will spend here. If you smoke, it's outdoors obviously. If you want something to eat, there is a small menu for cooked food, eg, burger and chips, cheese burger etc and again it can be expensive, you don't get much change out of a tenner! There is a jukebox (which you might find yourself using because of the 2 or 3 songs that are played in a loop can cause you to just listen to something else ). Members are obviously treated better which is daft on the Poolhalls place because it can cause resentment. Also there are some excellent staff behind the bar but also others who can be annoying - take for example, your tokens in,times ticking away, you go to the bar and the guy is putting stock away, you first need to find him and when you do, ask for what you require and are told "Not now, I'm stocking up." when you walk away , tell your partner the reason why you've no drinks/fresh token or change(for whatever) quite rightly they're annoyed,you can be sat in the dark, fumbling for your drinks (if you smoke, now could be a time for having one outside but you have to take your coat (handbag if you're with your wife)because you can't just leave it unattended.The drinks tables are small and a few empty glasses or bottles, with empty plates and utensils from food, fill them up very quickly, so you end up taking them back yourself! When he finally comes back behind the bar, you walk up again, repeat what you asked and are served with a cold atmosphere,and no thanks for taking the empties back yourself! (making you wonder if you are going to stay much longer ) they seem to like taking your money for alcohol but don't like it if you're enjoying yourself too much. There are the usual bar flies, watching the horse racing on the TV and they are treated excellent, whilst nursing a pint or two for hours, seeing if their bets have come in!Some of the staff are on the pool/snooker team and they're the ones who are quite unfriendly in their manner. But some of the female staff are very good. Watching live football isn't anything special (considering the World Cup was on and England did so well and with the Premier League almost half way through ). Too many cliques, from the members to the bar flies. It's location is what has helped it grow over the years. We've been going in there on and off for many years, it used to be a lot better but our last few visits have made us seek other places, like the Lyndale in Eccles (where tables/lights are FREE certain days of the week ) don't know about the health and fitness facilities and can only imagine. Sorry, but this place has really gone downhill, not in the tables, jukebox or variety of alcohol but with some of the staff who, quite frankly are terrible, rude and unfriendly. John Spencer didn't set it up to treat people the way they do now. Sorry Swinton Poolhall, but you'll never get another penny out of us.

Positive experience: Friendly, very busy at the weekends but that's to be expected. Loads of pool and snooker tables and prices are ok. Food is cheap and decent if you like your burgers and hotdogs, but a lot of it is microwavable, not a place to bring a date!
