Positive experience: Good gym, the staff are friendly and helpful. But the weekend opening hours need to be extended by a decent margin, 5:30 on a Saturday is bad but closing at 3PM on a Sunday is shocking IMO

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff and very helpful and welcoming they will go out of there way to help and support you if you have any problems, the chaninging rooms are very clean and tidy the swimming instructors are brilliant recommend 110% i love this place and do does my child she loves the staff and swimming pool

Positive experience: It's a smaller place than some but it's clean and the staff are friendly. I've only been to the pool so far but will be heading to the gym in shortly. My only issue is that the gym has a sign up admin cost of £25 on top of the monthly rate, that's a bit steep but apart from that it's great.

Fantastic experience: The staff are welcoming and the gym is kept clean at all times. Great range of equipment and classes but the highlight classes are Metafit and Circuit Training, both ran by Chris. Any abilities are welcome in Chris's class and he caters to everyone well. Thanks Chris.

Fantastic experience: Use the gym mostly for the Circuit class on a Monday and Metafit on a Friday both ran by Chris. Both are great classes, full of a great bunch of people and Chris is really welcoming would definitely recommend!

Positive experience: Our stay at the Secluded Mountain Retreat was simply unforgettable.

Positive experience: Both children have swimming lessons here . The lessons are very repetitive they cover the same stuff every week and never cover other stuff that is needed to complete badges. Home portal isn't filled in even thought they advertise it .

Fantastic experience: Great classes to keep you fit and healthy. Gym membership very reasonable. Great app for booking all your classes and reminders of your bookings 24 hours then one hour before. Clean and friendly staff.

Negative experience: Swimming - children are in ratio 10 to 1, really over crowded and especially the children that are less confident and the swimming teacher is helping and supported them. Which is good, but then bad for the other children to fend for themselves, with no teaching snd learning going on.

Negative experience: Fairly average gym, pretty busy at all times apart from midday, upon cancelling your membership they charge you an additional month for a “notice period” pretty scammy

Fantastic experience: We use Dearneside Leisure centre for our child's swimming lessons. The changing rooms are always clean, there is ample poolside viewing for parents and the staff are always great.

Fantastic experience: always busy a good selection off equipment to use staff very helpful and always on hand if need advise very clean

Brilliant friendly staff, very clean pool, showers, toilets everything within the building has been very well maintained, I attended lane swimming last night with my mum and auntie and after a previous bad experience somewhere else I was a little put off but I'm so glad I went (although my mother was like a big child splashing me) even the lifeguard had a sence of humor! I will 1000% be returning and with the kids! Even considering buying a membership ♥

Fantastic experience: Fitness has always been who I am after time spent away from it due to pregnancy I am now getting back to it enjoying swimfits swimming zumba and having support from Antony feels like I'm getting back to my old self again friendly team at dearnside the feel good factor is back for me and I'm looking forward to experiencing more classes and getting where I'd like to once again

Positive experience: Good swimming facilities, the only thing I use. Always lots of lockers and changing rooms. Well attended and patrolled by attentive guards. Public sessions can get very hectic at times so it's hard to be a serious swimmer as there's no lane marked separately for this. You can do lane only swimming at times that clash if you are a full time worker (early morning 7am and 7pm late evening). If you're retired, not working or female (Ladies only swims), this won't be as much of a problem. A good idea and suggestion, during busy public sessions, (imagine Where's Wally Swimming Pool Edition sometimes) is to have just 1x lane that can't be dive bombed by kids or backed into by spacially unaware public to keep everyone safe and happy and able to enjoy family swim times to their own ends?

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Clean and very modern. Even at peak times plenty of equipment so you're not stop waiting around.

Positive experience: The pool's ok. Changing room always cold as are the showers. No-one seems to care.

Fantastic experience: I joined 3 weeks ago, and as a fitness virgin, I was sceptical. However the classes are amazing and so enjoyable! I take alot of classes with Vicky Low and she is amazing, makes you feel so comfortable and the classes are so enjoyable! I can't wait to see where this journey takes me but up to now it's been a fantastic experience!

Fantastic experience: Was a good gym before the refurbishment. After refurb it's awesome. Didn't yet attend any classes or pool since refurb, but the gym facilities are amazing. Best quality equipment, really top class and all the equipment working as it should. Best technology too as I can charge my phone on the bike I'm riding while also watching YouTube on the screen in front of me, so I'm a 100% happy bunny lol. Very clean and a good atmosphere too. Separated half-half for people coming for the weights only and people coming for normal diverse workout, which is great. So glad I signed up again to exactly this gym, definitely worth the money.

Fantastic experience: Since the pandemic, the gym has been rebranded and the new state of the art equipment is excellent. Protective protocols are still in place in terms of cloths and antibacterial spray to wipe down equipment, so you can train without worrying. The phone app is useful for tracking your progress. Yes, the monthly subscription’s increased by a few pounds, but it’s totally justified.

Fantastic experience: Joined this week and best thing I’ve done the equipment in the gym is high tech and the classes are brilliant I’m hurting in places I didn’t even know I could the staff are amazing and all instructors are very welcoming and friendly…… been here now over a year finally braved myself to the big boy weight n love it staff here are still amazing and welcoming n ppl who train here are just as nice I came here with a chunky mum body n still have a mum bod just a little less chunky… Just go for it wish I did a lot sooner

Fantastic experience: Great gym. So much space. Nobody bothering you so you can just get on with your routine but trainers available if you need a bit of advice. Enough free weights and machines to choose from. Good size pool. Always friendly no matter what time you go

Positive experience: Good equipped gym, with polite and helpful staf, but poor maintenance off the gym equipment. Sadly the hygiene are not on the highest standards as well (mirrors look like somebody would have vometed on them, basically all machines are covered with dust). I think to keep high standards is not only about vacuuming gym, but also about cleaning everything else as well.

Negative experience: Cheap cards that stop working every 2 minutes. New policy is to charge you £2 each time it doesn't work or you forget your card. Run down equipment also. Avoid!

Positive experience: An 'ex council' gym and pool that has been refurbished under BPL. Now feels more modern and clean. Equipment in the gym is functional but pretty old, often with broken foot straps, oil required on rowing machine, caps missing from cross-grained handles and the like. Still, the pricing is lower here than in some other places, so you get what you pay for.
