Positive experience: I’ve been a member for several years. It’s good, but lacks the same facilities (eg outdoor pools) as other David Lloyd gyms in Scotland despite pricing being similar. Gym floor can also get very busy in peak times. Almost impossible to book indoor tennis courts on a weekday evening. Bubble outside is very cold in winter and your balls constantly get wet.

Negative experience: David Lloyd Aberdeen is an over priced children's club. If your looking for a 'gym' there are better options in Aberdeen. Paying +£100pm you would at least expect a Smith Machine.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of the club for about a month now. While I initially joined for the gym access, I’ve found myself spending most days in the business hub. It’s the perfect environment for productivity, offering a level of focus I just don’t get when working from home. I love being able to break up my day with a gym session and unwind afterward with a swim or spa treatment—it’s a great way to balance work and relaxation. The dining experience has also been fantastic, and I’m still getting used to the luxury of having restaurant-quality food and coffee delivered straight to my desk while I work. The facilities are top-notch, and the staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful. Luke was excellent in guiding me through my induction and getting me involved in classes and personal training sessions. Adam, in particular, has been an amazing trainer, pushing me to take my fitness progress to the next level. After just one month, I’m confident that I’ll be a member of David Lloyd for as long as I’m in Aberdeen. A huge thank you to everyone who makes it such a wonderful environment!

Fantastic experience: Very happy with our family membership at David Lloyd Aberdeen. Gym facilities are fab, as a complete beginner I have been made to feel comfortable and enjoy my time using the facilities. PT Will has helped me gain some confidence and I appreciate that! As a family we love the pools, especially the cosy kids one but as adults, we have definitely utilised the spa area. All areas are very clean and well maintained by the staff. Our kids love the classes they attend, the DL Kids team work hard to ensure the kids have a fun experience whilst keeping active! Gemma is our sons Swim Coach and he loves his weekly lesson with her, her enthusiasm for her job is evident in her teaching. All staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome when entering the building, special mention to Luke who showed us round the club and has ensured we are getting the most out of our membership.

Fantastic experience: Hello Myself and my family have been members for 6 weeks now at David Lloyd Aberdeen and have found the experience first class. All the staff members across all the departments are very helpful and will assist right away when you speak to them. The gym is well equipped and I would say one of the great benefits I find is the kids clubs and kids activities, having these available helps me and my wife get to the gym to carry out a workout. Fantastic gym and spa area and look forward to coming with the family for the foreseeable future Thanks

Fantastic experience: Fanstastic Cyclone class with Claire Anderson this morning. Claire is a brilliant instructor, providing challenge and support in equal measure which is a fine balance and something not all instructors do well, if at all. Thanks Claire - your classes are always great!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience signing up today with Ciaran. He was incredibly helpful and transparent with the club and sign up process. Having been a member of the club before, the facilities remain up to date and high quality.

Negative experience: Awful customer relations, they force you into a 1 year contract without explaining this when you sign up. If you "pause" your membership, you still have to pay a "discounted" rate but cannot use the gym or any other services, this also stops your continuous monthly membership - so instead of committing to 12 months you will be committing to 14 months! It is an absolute scam and expensive too. Facilities are okay, but the shower gel is rubbish Elemis which is useless at removing chlorine from your skin after swimming. Please do not fall into the trap of signing up to this scam of a company. Worst decision my partner and I ever made. The jacuzzi is not very clean either and often had plasters floating in the water or around the edges of it.

Positive experience: David lloyds is now more like a public swimming pool. Kids swimming lessons on most days. The noise from the pool area is absolutely shocking from early morning to late in the afternoon. With the cost off the membership, you would expect some sort of chilled experience. I ordered a baked potato that was cold in the middle, and the bean topping was disgusting. In fairness, the food usually is too a good standard. I also noticed that £60 had been taken from my bank account by direct debit that i have enquired about that still has not been explained to me, this was over 10 days ago. I had been a previous member for 5 years. I recently joined again in September and have now cancelled my membership. Really not worth the money now.

Fantastic experience: Well done to the DL Kids team for organising a charity sports day on Sunday which was great fun! Family splash afterwards was great and they always love it! My children have been members at David Lloyd since they were babies - now 9 years old, and still enjoy using the facilities, kids classes, Battlebox rebels, Blaze rebels, swimming lessons, holiday clubs and more! Brilliant for the whole family! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Been a member at the aberdeen club in and off for about 10 years. It’s just the best facility in aberdeen hands down if you are looking for a health club. Now i make even better use of facility as I have a son who can make use of the pool facilities and the crèche area. I would recommend the club to anyone providing you are going to get good use out of it. The staff are all lovely and you feel like you are listened to when you make any suggestions. Doors are always open to talk to management team and they are quite happy to resolve the very few issues I have ever had. My whole family are members at DL.

Fantastic experience: My recent experience at David Lloyd Aberdeen was fantastic. I was made to feel incredibly welcome by Luke who was really knowledgeable and helpful in providing a tour of the facilities. I was provided with all the information I needed and Luke was more than happy to answer any other questions I had after my tour. I would highly recommend booking a tour if you are curious. The process of joining was easy and the team were really efficient. I'm really happy with my experience as a guest and now as a club member.

Negative experience: If your gloves get taken by someone accidentally in Blaze (I’m going to assume that’s what happened as I’d like to think no one would steal them) don’t expect anyone to care or to help you try and get them back. Have had to repeatedly ask for an update at reception and no one knew anything about it so the team obviously don’t speak to one another or do any kind of handover between shifts. They could easily replace the gloves but they don't care. Will not be renewing our membership when the time comes. Also if you’d like a free a pair of gloves just steal them as they won’t do anything about it.

Fantastic experience: Andrada’s Pilates classes are challenging but she makes it fun!

Fantastic experience: Done a sprint Triathlon today organised by Danny with help from Gemma! It was a very slick set up. Something totally different to do in the gym environment and great to meet others in the gym. Something I might pursuit to do regularly. I would advise people keep a look out for anything like this cropping up again! I would certainly sign up to do it again!

Fantastic experience: I took part in the June 2024 triathlon which Danny organised. He was supportive over the whole 12 weeks and the event was organised to run super smoothly. I really enjoyed it

Fantastic experience: Claire Anderson cyclone classes - could not do without them. I need the motivation her energy and personality provides.

Fantastic experience: Great health club with lots of classes. Blaze especially is a really good heart rate zone based hiit class, usually led by Darren, Claire or Gemma when I attend. All three are great at getting you to push that little bit extra to achieve your goals. It’s not the cheapest gym in Aberdeen, but the variety of classes, racquet court facilities and spa really do make it feel worthwhile. If you are lucky you can see red squirrels and deer in the grounds as well. I’ve heard rumours of an otter running past the decking of the cafe also.

Fantastic experience: Tuesday Body Pump with Gav was A tough set of tracks, but made easier with Gav on the stage keeping it light hearted and fun!!

Positive experience: I have been a member at the Aberdeen club from day 1 and make the most of my membership attending a range of classes 5 or 6 days a week. The instructors are excellent and the friendly atmosphere at classes is great. My only complaint is the lack of Pilates equipment. It took us a long time to get Pilates balls however despite requesting weighted Pilates balls and Pilates rings we are still waiting. We have to rely on one of our instructors taking her own Pilates rings. So come on Aberdeen, give us the Pilates equipment which many of the other local gyms provide.

Fantastic experience: This club is fantastic. I’ve been a member for about 8 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The classes are fantastic - the instructors really are the best in Aberdeen. They care about you and your progress and your goals and couldn’t be nicer, more helpful and professional. Special mentions to Eve, Gemma, Claire, Lorraine, Gav and Darren who are all truly WONDERFUL.

Negative experience: I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by David Lloyds. My overall conclusion is that David Lloyds treats its members unfairly, and I have experienced several issues that have left me extremely disappointed. Firstly, the poor service is evident in the way the club handles its membership. While David Lloyds continues to accept new members, there is clearly not enough space to accommodate everyone. Classes are consistently full, and it is a struggle to book a spot. On a daily basis, I face challenges with the booking system, which is incredibly frustrating. Additionally, the staff at the reception are not properly trained in customer service. On numerous occasions, I have witnessed staff members chatting among themselves while clients stand waiting for assistance, whether it be for towels or any kind of response. This lack of attention and professionalism is unacceptable. Moreover, the managers in charge do not seem to care about the issues faced by clients. There is a noticeable lack of assistance or cooperation when concerns are raised. This indifferent attitude only exacerbates the frustration of members. I have also observed instances of discrimination, which is deeply troubling. This should not be tolerated in any establishment, let alone one that prides itself on its service to members. The pool facilities are another area of concern. The water is often excessively warm, and the overall maintenance of the pool is poor. This detracts from the enjoyment and safety of using the facilities. In addition, the instructors frequently start classes late, but if a member arrives late, they are not permitted to join. This inconsistent policy is puzzling and unfair. Overall, my experience at David Lloyds has been far from satisfactory. I regret becoming a member due to these persistent issues.

Fantastic experience: I needed some help earlier in the gym and a very helpful lad called George was quick to assist with a solution and great customer service. Truly an asset to the David Lloyd company and I am so very grateful for his help.

Positive experience: Pretty much all I use Lloyd's for is the spin classes so I am maybe not the best reviewer BUT here goes anyway. So, spin classes with Claire Anderson at David Lloyd's Aberdeen. Are we an experiment in human suffering? Are the bikes connected to the swimming pool heater? As for Claire, she would do equally as well as a politician or a tax collector. With her exhortations for greater effort being "good for you" while ramping up the length of "outside the comfort zone" sections it is a wonder there isn't a mutiny. Somehow she keeps us coming back for more, maybes it's the nostalgic naughties disco tunes? Whatever it all is, if you like pedalling it is a hell of a workout. A star is lost from 5 as we aren't chucked a "good boy" treat on the way out.

Fantastic experience: Great choice of classes and times to suit busy lifestyles. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the class/swim instructors and PT. Just to name a few… Gemma, Melissa, Darren, Gav & Gillan. Not forgetting swim coaches Jay & Gemma.

Fantastic experience: As a family we all really enjoy our time at David Lloyd.The standard of classes is the best in Aberdeen.In my experience all of the teachers are highly qualified and give motivational classes. I love Blaze which is exclusive to DL. There is always a warm welcome from the reception staff. The pool and spa area are a wonderful retreat from a hectic day. The badminton courts are a winner with my daughter where she can practice her netball shooting too. Cant recommend highly enough ⭐️

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in DavidLloyd Aberdeen,The sales team is extremely dodgy, dishonest, and unreliable. They employ high-pressure tactics and provide misleading information, making it feel like their main goal is to make a sale at any cost rather than genuinely helping potential members. This approach has left a very negative impression and has made me question the integrity of the entire organization. ❌❌❌❌❌❌
